Episode One: Fair Price

The usual was among the city of Gaide-- the dark streets, a black moon, and one of white. The light was faint, as the fog thickened immensely, dimming the light from the streetlight. Only the insane would be out tonight. or those who were strong enough to fight hell and heaven's pull...

Kira wondered around aimlessly in the darkness of teh forest the only ligth sorce was the moon and barly any of it's light shown threw the trees

Morgan sat perched on a wall, running her hand through her hair. She sighed. "Tick...tock...tick...tock..." she mumbled incoherently, flashing her red eyes around the area, taking everything in "Tick... tick... tick... tock..."

a blonde deer with blue tips on its tail walked beside her.

Morgan shifted her eyes to the creature beside her. Smiling fakely she greeted it; "Hello,"

it looked at him troting forward then it changed into a girl.

Within the government walls...

Kuroi Gaide tapped his fingers restlessly onto his desk, a wept of worry flew threw him. His relentless public of the people siding with hell were thriving-- yet he still wasn't satisfied. Kuroi sighed, and ran his fingers threw his dark brown hair,"Every single time I try to reel'em in...they just squirm away." he threw his pen at the door.

Kaine looked deeply at him, leaning against the wall,"Hey, if you called me to come here and watch you throw a fit, I think I'll be leaving know." he said, sneering,"I've got better things to do than listen to my leader's rambling..."

Kuroi laughed benevolently, and withdrew to sitting lazily in his tree,"Don't worry, young mercenary. I need your help again."

Kaine's elven ears perched up, and he smirked devilishly. He pushed himself off the wall, and drew a seat from the side, placing it in front of Kuroi's desk. He sat in it, the chair backwards, leaning forwards against the back of the chair,"Go on, Kuroi-san."

Kuroi nodded, and leaned forward,"Thought so," he commented,"I want you to go on a raid again; gather and humans in sight, and track the little Heru Mitsukai assholes one by one..."

Kaine sighed,"I'm guessing your last employee failed to do so..."

He groaned, and grunted inwardly,"He got killed."

Kaine almost fell out of his chair laughing,"That idiot..."

Kuroi ran his fingers thorugh his hair,"Not killed-- slain.Completely destroyed."

Kaine raised an eyebrow,"Wouldn't that not matter, now that heaven and hell have fallen and risen to purgatory...?"

Kuroi sighed,"Yes, I assumed that at first as well." he closed his eyes,"There still is heaven and hell though when we die...you see, the heaven and hell we're on right now are still on the plane of this existance...the pure core of the original heaven and hell still exist, out of our sight."

Kaine nodded incoherently,"So I see..." he stared lazily out the window,"So...down to buisness. How much do you intend to pay...?"

Kuroi cackled,"My, My...don't worry about that." he began writing a check with his fine pen. Kaine looked over and after seeing the amount. He almost fell over,

"HOLY SHIT..."

Kuroi sighed, and slipped the check in his pocket,"Hey, don't expect to be paid in advance. I won't pay until your job is done." Kaine got back up, as he lent out a pen,"Sign here..."

Kaine looked up at him, and sighed, signing his lacy signature,"Happy?"

Kuroi nodded,"Very. If you like, keep any people you collect. Humans make nice pets." he laughed,"Eh, even get a wench or a dog or somehting. Doesn't matter to me."

Kaine smirked, and nodded,"Thank you, good sir." he got up, and left the room. Closing the door, he leaned against it,Here we go again...

Dimitri leaned on a brick wall behind Morgan, watching her idly. "Have no watch? Or is the teacher finally letting you count to 100?"

Morgan turned her head to look at him "Shut it angel..." she hissed hopping off the wall she was sitting on "Or I'll have to hurt you,"

"I can just fly away, even if you tried,"

"Maybe..."

Ki who was flying above them stopped seeing Dimitri bugging someone she hovered there with her arms crossed waiting for him to finish.

"Night forty two since 'La Resistance' began..." her sudden obsession of recording everything that happens took over,"The sky is ebony, the stars are dying, and life is just- SHIT!!" Melody clumsily tripped over a stray cat. It hissed at her, then ran away. He reyes narrowed at the feline, rousing her forehead with her hand,"Damn..." she muttured- her cheap ass tape recorder lay smashed in front of her. Melody heaved a sigh, getting up lazily, and kicking the remains away,"You know what, screw this, it can all burn in hell for all I freaking care!!" she snapped helplessly,"...what did you say? You're telling me to screw off?" she kicked the old chunk of plastic again,"Why don't you screw off, you damn piece of crap!! Oh yeah, you can't, CAUSE YOU'RE ALREADY DEAD!!" the string of profanity aftererwards seemed almost ceaseless, as Melody kept ranting on about the tape recorder-- until after about three minutes, when she realised that her insanity was apparent. She froze in thought for a while, and shook her head angrily, giving the broken tape recorder a kick across the street, and continuing to walk. She stopped again, overhearing rampant bickering. Melody hid behind the wall, and peered over it curiously. She cocked her eyebrow,Some wolf hanyou and an angel...how typical that two such creatures would be fighting this late at... she looked to the sky,I can't even tell if it's day or night anymore...,"You know what, someone just shoot me.."

Ki laughed she was watching melody from a seat on the wall.

Dimitri eyes flicked from Ki to Melody and he grimaced "Well, seems like tonight I am just surrounded by woman... hm" he sighed and turned on his heel, wings twichting lightly.

Morgan glared and stalked after him "Hey wait a minute!" she grabbed his shoulder and spun him around she dug in her pocket for something and pulled it out.

"What are you-?"

"Ha!" Morgan grinned triumphantly as she looked at the beads wrapped around Dimitri's two wrists.

"What did you do?"

"Try and fly away now, angel boy," she smirked. Dimitri stared at her a while then cautiously flexed his wings and rose int the air a bit before slamming back to the ground. "What in Heaven's name did you do?!"

"Spell beads, you can't fly," she threw her head back and laughed, turning and leaving as she did so.

Dimitri blinked dumbfounded "Aw-" profanity was one of his less pleasent habits.

Melody blinked and stepped out from behind the wall. She cocked her head,'...this is strange.',"Erm, sir, you okay?" she asked, walking over slowly to him. She noted his wings,'They're...freaking big ass...'

Off somewhere else...

A man wearing black clothes hid behind a large tree.

"I can't see a thingy here!" a small girl said ,walkking around , almost tripping on a root.

"BOO!" he yelled jumped out from his hiding place.

"AHHHH!!!"

Kaine walked amongst the trees outside the city. He flicked a mosquitoe off of her skin,"Agh, I hate these..." he muttured. His elven ears perked up, as she heard the cry of a small girl. They dropped suddenly, as he cringed in annoyance,"SHUT UP!!!"

"FUCK YOU!!" Kira yellled at Kaine before laughing at him.

Dimitri didn't look at her, he was flexing and unflexing his wings while pulling angrily at the beads on his wrists "That.. bitch... just... fucking... I... am... so... going to..." he fumbled with them some more "AGH!" he slammed his hands on the ground and his wings declined slightly. Finally noticing Melody he got up and looked at her, eyeing her up and down "Hi,"

Melody cocked an eyebrow,"Um...hello..." she laughed lightly,"I don't think I've ever heard an angel swear so many times in my life..." she smiled.

"Hn." the black-head looked at the beads disdainfully "An angel who swears is one thing, but one who can't fly?! God! I am so gonna kill her..."

Melody sighed, and looked to the direction Morgan walked off,"Don't blame you...she was a little bitchy." he looked to his wrist,"Bah, that must suck..."

"Mmhm..." he glared after the demon adn turned to melody "So... I didn't catch your name,"

Melody blinked,"Erm, Melody." she replied, looking to the dark sky. She sighed,"Hell's winning in the war..." she muttured.

"Goddamit you scared the hell outa me!!" Kira yelled

"HAHAH but it was so funny!" Fleance laughed.

"Grrrrr!" Kria was angry now ,and hit him over the head.

"Oww..." Fleance rubbed his head "Now your gonna get it!!" he started chasing Kira ,trying to tickle her.

"NOO!"

Eventually Kira ran infront of MElody screamign,ran around Meldoy adn then hide behind Dimitri "Save me..."

Dimitri growled at her "Get her away from me..."

Melody cocked her head,"You're not a very heavenly angel either..." she muttured, looking to Kira,"Save you from what?"

"Him!" she pointed to Fleance.

Fleance was standing there before coughing. Cough!,"Anger problems!" Cough!

Dimitri growled more deeply stepping away at Kira, continuing to pull at the beads stormily.

"Hahah you got those!" Fleance pointed to the bracelets.

"Hey!Don't be so rude! "Kira yelled at Fleance

Melody's eyes narrowed at Fleance, and thwaped him over the head,"You little shit...It's only been three minutes and I already hate you."

"Ow..." Flenace rubbed his head he looked at Melody and froze "Wow....your hot!"

Dimitri stopped and looked at Fleance "Why am I talking with you imbeciles?"

"Oh, opps," Flenace siad and got on one knee took Melody's hand and kissed it ,"Allow me to introduce me I am Fleance Shiano and the little flea ball behind me is Kira."

Melody snatched her hand away, and looked at them both,"Um, okay..." she sighed,"I don't think I've ever met so many random people within seven minutes." she muttured to herself,"Um...I'm Melody..." she looked to Dimitri,"And...I never caught your name."

Dimitri rolled his eyes at Fleance "Dimitri," he said pulling at the beads again.


"Melody, what a beutiful name!"Fleance said standing up

"Oh my God..."Kria said smacking her forhead

"Well, I feel speacial..." Dimitri mumbled, wings twitching angrily as he tugged at the beads which were refusing to come off.

Kira truned and looked at Dimitri, "I have wings too!" she said smilling as her small wings spread out.

"Greeeeaaat...." he grunted clenching his fists as he crossed his arms, finger tapping impatiently.

"Why are you being so rude to everyone?"Kria asked "Can't you smile and be happy?"

Melody sighed,"Can't blame him...he can't fly anymore." she shot a glare at Fleance,"...thank you." she replied bluntly.

Dimitri glared deeply at Kira "Go effing figure..."

"Huh?"Kira asked cocking her head to the right "Why can't you take them off?"

"I think they're like sourtras or spell beads..." Melody replied,"You can't take them off." she heaved a sigh, looking to Dimitri,"I'm guessing the only one who can is the bitch that did this to you."

"Oh, beauty!" Dimitri cursed darkly under his breath "That stupid..." this boy does swear alot doesn't he?

"Well I can understand why your so angry I had to go to trial and had to where those for a month!" Kira said, "But you don't have to be so mean to others."

Melody sighed,"I'm guessing that's just the way he is..."

Dimitri's eye twitched and he spoke acidly "Maybe, girl, the reason I'm mean to others is because they're annoying ugly brats who don't shut up and mind their own buisiness!"

"YOU are so RUDE!" Kira yelled "Yah, well you can kiss my ass and burn in hell!" she yelled angrily before kicking Dimitri in the shin(sP) and storming off.

"..." was all Fleance could say standing beside Melody .

Melody's eyes widened at Kira's action, and remained the way as she looked to Dimitri,"...I can't blame her. That was very bastard-like."

Dimitri rolled his eyes "Whatever," he ignored the ache in his leg "I'm off to find Morgan Le Bitch..." he turned and stalked away, wings twitching angrily every few steps.

Fleance grabbed a rose from the ground and handed it to Melody, "Would thy care for dinner?"

Melody fingered the rose, and sighed,"After the earlier remark, I don't think so." she put the rose in her hair, and sighed,"Okay, damnit, I met you like five minutes ago and you're asking me for dinner...I don't think so!!" she smiled, and flicked his nose,"Buh bai!" she said, walking off quickly.

Flenace stood there looking at MEldoy and sighed "Aww...next time!" he said triumphantly turned and walked the other way.He eventually found Kira sitting by the a fountain ,"Hey Kira."

"Hi.."

"You look sad"

"No!Really?!Anyways I'm just angry." she replied--just then two watery hands came out from the fountain, grabbed Kira, pulled her under the water, and then Kira and the hand dissapered .

"....Oh MY GOD!" Fleance yelled got up and rna after Melody

Melody sighed, looking around the dark streets. She looked at the black moon, and sighed,"That's it. the whole world is screwed..." she muttured pessimistically,"Hell has us all..."

"Melody!Melody!!" Fleance yelled running up to Melody.

Melody's hanyou ears twitched, and she turned to Fleance. She rolled her eyes , and kept walking,"If you're gonna hit on me, I suggest you run before I smack you."

"I think you are as beutiful as the stars!" Fleance said.

Within seconds, Melody's hand connected with his face. She slapped him hard,"I'm not up for your stupid comments, okay?!?!" she hissed.

"Okay, sorry!" Fleance said, "The real reason I'm here is because some freak water lady just kidnapped Kira ,and well...it's hard to explain but I need your help!"

Melody sighed,"Fine, okay." she replied,"I'll help."

"Yay, thank you!"Fleance smiled "Okay...umm...but I don't know where she is."

Melody cocked her eyebrow, and rolled her eyes, beginning to walk away,"God, you're hopeless." she said to him.

"Hey!That was mean!" Fleance yelled. "Well I don't!!she was taken away and then I came to you"

Just then a figure stood on a tree branch on a near by tree "If you looking for the girl she'll be at 'Kutsiko'" it said before she jumped out of the tree and dissapeared into the woods.

Melody's eyebrows raised; nothing ever seemed to surprise the girl,"Hm. How convienient."

"Yay!Umm...do you know where that is?"

"I've been locked up in some hellhole for 5 years, I don't know where anything in the damn city is!!" Melody hissed.

"Whoa....sorry."he said backing away quickly.

Melody breathed heavily, then concluded with a sigh,"...No, I'm sorry. I shouldn't break out like that..." she turned , and began to walk away.

"Hey wait!where are you going!?"

"Do you think I know?!?" she snapped at him, still walking away.

"Whoa...talk about moody!"Fleance said "well umm...I thought you knew where you were going and stuff but mabye that angel that was so rude might know where Kutsiko is...."

Melody shrugged,"Dimitri? Probably, he seems to know where he's going..." she replied bluntly again. She sotpped, and turned around,"Oh, just to warn you, I'm the most moody chick you'll probably ever meet...so don't get me angry. I might go all rabid-bunny on you."

"Ohhh...okay, I've seen worse..."

She sighed, and kept moving on,"I take pills every three hours to keep stable. I think that's pretty damn crazy..."

"O.O... ..."

Melody looked to him again and smirked,"That's right. Stare in shock. Get a good look before I chop your head off or something..." she laughed inasanely, then became stable again, walking off.

"Umm...mabye on second thought..."

Melody sighed, agrrivated, as she turned to him a final time,"What?"

"Nothing...just well...umm...it's nothing..."

Melody cocked a brow,"You sure?"

"Ya ya nothing wrong!"Oh my God, what have I gotten myself into!?

Melody grunted,"Yeah, right."

"No, you'll have to be faster to hit me," her voice taunted the student, his sweat dripping a pale pink. He'd drunk blood before coming to class, too much. Not the smartest choice. She pivoted, knocking the breath from his solar plex.

Grinning, the instuctor knocked her charge off balance, causing him to fall back onto the mat. Within seconds she was on him, pinning his limb immobile as she disarmed the dulled weapon.

"I yield," he mumbled, a vampire in his late teens, not used to being defeated, "you win Sifu Sauda."

"But of course," the instuctor grinned, pushing back red-streaked black hair, falsley dyed to match the role. Grabbing his hand, she lifted her senior student from the flooring, "That's why I'm the teacher. The day you beat me, the day you surpass me in skill."

He nodded, still ashamed he had been beat by a female, even one as experienced as Sauda.

"And questions on the techniques?"

"Okay...so got any Idea's to where that guy went?" Fleance asked Melody.

Melody looked to the sky in thought,"Erm...I'm pretty sure he went thata way." she pointed north east,"I'm guessing Dimitri isn't very fond of the girl who put those spell beads on him...erm..he mentioned her name..." she remembered, and snickered,"Ah, Morgan 'Le Bitch'."

Morgan was wandering near the government building, musing sadistically about her little spell beads... she continued walking idly when she spotted Kaine.
"Ah," she walked up to him "Hey Kaine,"

Kaine blinked up from the sky, over to Morgan. He smiled,"Hey Morgan. I was wondering where you were for a while..."

"Oh you know... Places..." she shrugged "I found an angel though,"

His smile formed into some sort of troublesome smirk,"Oh? Around these parts...interesting."

Morgan nodded grimly, "Yes, I had some fun with him though..."

Kaine laughed,"I'd hate to be him, then. Ah, well, that's good. Little holy batsards..."

"Amusing expreience, really," she smirked twitching her ears absently "Where've you been?"

Kaine gestured to inside the building,"Second floor, room 25-C--Hell's king wanted to see me..."

Morgan rolled her eyes "How specific," she mumbled "What about?"

Kaine sighed,"The rich bastard wants me to kill anyone I meet in his way...he's paying a hole shitload though." he smiled,"So it doesn't really matter."

"Why can't he just kill them?" she asked annoyed lsightly at the king's arrogance, pulling at her thong slightly.

Kaine looked downwards to her waist, and gave a sensual smile. Hopeless debaucheries filled his head,"He doesn't wanna get his damn hands dirty..."

"With what, death? Isn't he the big head of Hell, and he doesn't want his hands dirty?" she smirked at where Kaine's eyes were, reverting to crossing her arms, deciding not to lead him anywhere.

Kaine blinked up from his lecherous thoughts back to her face,"He doesn't wanna risk getting totally destroyed...sure, he liked blood, but he needs someone to draw it for him." he sighed,"And I'm the lucky one that gets to do it..." he muttured sarcastically.

"I'm sure you don't mind that much, lovely,"

He smirked at her,"That's pretty much true. I guess it's just the fact that I gotta do it for him that ticks me off the most."

"Just keep reminding yourself of the money," she said twirling a strand of her dark hair.

Kaine laughed,"Aye, that's true, my dear." he replied, looking to the sky,"It'd be a shame if I died before I got my hands on that cash..." he thought out loud.

"What would you do with it? There's not much you can buy anymore,"

"I just want it. Mostly because it's blood money...makes it worthwhile. Maybe buy a human pet..." he smirked,"Or a whore..."

"Hey," she waved a finger mockingly "If you can pay I'd be happy to, you're pretty damn hot," she walked around him and slapped his ass. Smirking she continued walking.

Kaine's face reflected off sick pleasure. He smirked, following suite.

"So where are you off to?" she asked over her shoulder, running her hand through her hair.

Kaine shrugged half heartedly,"Off to take out anything holy...or anyone that's invlovled with those Heru Mitsukai half-asses." he replied,"I haven't seen anything yet though...they're all to scared to come out of hiding. They're all cowards..."

"I found one," she said absently, adjusting her pants slightly as she walked.

Kaine blinked up at her,"It'd help if you told me where..."

"Three actually," Morgan turned to look at him. "Back that way," she pointed behind them.

Kaine smirked, and looked to where she pointed,"Thank you, Morgan." he began towards that direction,"Hey, you wanna come?"

She shrugged "Eh, I have nothing better to do," she said, stalking after him.

He kept walking, in search for their prey...

Melody's steps echoed through the nearly empty streetways as she trudged along, in nearly pointless search for Dimitri. She didn't even know why the hell she wanted to help Fleance in any way, but it was for Kira's sake," I don't even know why the hell I bother to help random people on the streets, there could be damn hell thingies out there to chop our asses up and... " she continued mutturing darkly.

"Cussing is a bad habit," Dimitri sat perched on a smal fountain nearby, watching her.

Melody blinked from her feet to Dimitri, and smiled sadictically,"You're one to talk, hipocrit."

"I'm not saying don't do it, I'm saying it's bad habit," he retorted sifting his hand through the water.

Melody smiled softly, walking over to him,"Meh, at least you're pretty modest about it." she flipped a fringe of her hair out of her face,"Anyways, Fleance wanted to know if you knew where ever the hell Kutsiko or something is..." she sighed,"It's quite a shame, actually. Kira got taken there, so he claims."

Dimitri blinked How can you be modest... about swearing? he shrugged "I dunno what Kutsiko is, don't really care either," he said getting up and streching his useless wings.

Melody sighed, and looked to Fleance,"There yah go." she said bluntly. Her eyes darted back to Dimitri,"I'm guessing you're wings are still giving you one hell of a time..."

"aw comon!please I need help to find ehr she could get killed!"fleance begged

Melody looked to Fleance,"Hey, it's not the guy's fault that he doesn't know where she is..." she gave a look to Dimitri,"But he could've at least shown a little empathy."

Dimitri shot her a look.

Melody snarled ,and walked up to him,"I don't mean to be stereotypical, but you're a freaking angel...so show some sympathy!!"

Dimitri rolled his eyes "But I don't care,"

Melody growled, clenching her fist,"Don't give me that bullshit!" she snapped.

"What bull? I just don't care. I've known the girl less than an hour, all she did was hide behind me when I was talking to her, and even then I didn't enjoy her company. I just don't care," he said resonably crossing his arms.

"AGH, but I-" Melody froze. She scanned her mind for witty comments, and came up with nothing. Her face fell slightly, and she sighed, aggrivated. Her ears twitched angrily,"...FU-"

Click, click.

She suddenly stopped her profanity, as her dog ears twitched to the clicking and reloading of a gun. Melody flipped her head, and bit her lip,"...duck."

Dimitri did so obediently.

Melody did as well. Slowly, she creeped from her position towards the sound, sniffing the air. She gave a snide expression,"Things from hell..." 'Not very specific...but hey, come on, I'm not a miracle worker.' she thought, smiling.

"Die, bitch..." Kaine's dark voice bellowed from ahead, as he took a shot at her. Melody jumped back defensively, as the enemy showed their face,"Aw, God..." she moaned, as Kaine stood there with his gun over his shoulder. He smirked, and started counting them,"One, two, three...just like you said, Morgan."

Morgan smirked, standing beside him. "I always thought I was good at mathematics,"

Dimitri was now standing, and glaring deeply at the pair "And look where it's gotten you!" he spat viciously.

Kaine gave a snide laugh,"The girl is perfectly fine where she is, angel." he said,"Ah, but where you three are going will be much less pleasant."

Dimitri growled and stalked over to Kaine. "Give me this," he snatched the gun out of his hand angrily.

"Piss off!"
