Stance in movement
get in the fighting position. arms up, legs comfortably apart, body slightly turned...blah blah blah...

get a wide open space....

practice really small steps forwards and backwards....
   How? (simple: from the ready position, put you lead leg forward a comfortable distance, and then subtlely let the back foot follow. voila, you have stepped forward without shifting your balance and without losing strength or speed or without having exposed yourself!(the backwards steps are the same but with the back leg going first, and the lead leg trailing...)).
