Character Name: Harkin Mayes

Age: Seventeen, nearly eighteen.

Appearance: Harkin has dark reddish-brown hair and light brown eyes with dark circles underneath. If he were an average person, he’d be considered dangerously pale and thin.

Special Features: Most people would describe his physique as sickly, but whenever doctors examine his vital signs, he’s revealed to be at the peak of health. However, blood cultures would reveal a myriad of diseases, some mutated into a highly contagious and incurable state.

Abilities: Harkin's body collects diseases and infections through ingestion, unconsciously cultivates them to a fatal and volatile strain, and then releases them onto living specimens through physical contact. His powers only have a limited effect on other specials, giving them symptoms for as long as he is in physical contact with them but no permanent damage.

Personality Profile: Harkin is rather easily confused and enjoys food almost more than anything else. For the most part, though, he is rather calm and informal. He does lose his temper from time to time, though.

History: Harkin has seen very little of the world due to being kept in isolation all his life. His grandmother--who never really trusted doctors since her daughter, Harkin's mother, died in-surgery--was always very concerned about his sickly appearance and kept him at home where he had little interaction with others and was discouraged from "over-stimulating activities" including television and internet since she was afraid becoming emotionally upset over something he saw or read would worsen his condition. As such, he is very naive and has a skewed perception of the world.
