HiddenFire Nightmares

I do have a few reoccurring themes in my nightmares I will list a few of them below:

The first are my dreams of depression and anxiety. Often they begin with my teeth falling out, and then various extremities begin to fall off (ears, nose, fingers, etc.). I frantically try to put things back where they go but they won't stay. As more and more pieces begin to fall off I try to scoop them up in a pile in an attempt to keep myself together. I am in a panic by now. Then I slowly fall apart in a gruesome heap of tiny pieces and lie there on the floor for a while. Then the dream starts over. It happens several times until I eventually give up and just lie on the floor and wait for it to happen. I rarely wake up from these dreams. I rarely wake up from my nightmares anyway.

Then there is one where I cannot touch the ground or some unseen monster will devour me. Something lives in the earth and I must stay in the trees, on rocks, on walls, whatever I can just not on the ground. I have never been caught by this monster but I have been able to see it lately. It appears like a shadow on the surface of the ground in the shape of a giant fish. I have also seen it in water and it looks very similar to the hate fish from yu yu hakusho.

There is also the nightmare where I am being eaten from the inside out. It has happened with burrowing insects, lizards, and vines. I can feel them running around inside of me and I can see them under my skin.

My nightmares will be posted below. I do not have them as often as I would like, I actually like to be scared.

My latest nightmare I believe also included sleep paralysis. In the dream I was trying to sleep on a cot in the living room but I could not get comfortable. I tossed and turned and could not get comfortable. I started to become angry and frustrated. I then started speaking in a deep and demonic voice that I was not in control of. I threw off the covers and was bellowing things in a language that I didn't understand. I watched myself throwing the cot and a coffee table across the room with unearthly strength. I was terrified. I then let out a loud angry scream (still in the demonic voice) and I woke up. The only problem was that I was now unable to move. I couldn't even move my eyes and I could not control my breathing. I am not even sure if I was breathing much if at all. I also felt like there was something watching me. my immediate first thought was that I had accidentally astral projected in my dream (which I have done before). When one astral projects terrible things can often follow you back and sometimes even posses you (or so I am told). I still could not move and I was even more afraid than I was in the dream. It was like I was a prisoner in my own body. I stared at the ceiling waiting for that creature to come and kill me but it never came. After what seemed like half an hour I slowly became able to move again. I sat up and looked around the room. Everything seemed normal. I lay down on my side and went back to sleep. I tried my best to ignore the feeling that something was watching me. I do believe this was my first encounter with sleep paralysis. They say it is the most terrifying thing that can happen to a person; I disagree. It was scary at the moment, and it took me several more minuets to get over than a normal nightmare, but I wouldn't consider to the most terrifying thing that has ever happened to me. In retrospect, I rather liked that.

2004-08-30 [A R I]: Sleep paralysis can have to do with programming. Sometimes, however, it is an actual seizure by an Astral entity (see The Astral). Often alien abductions are mistaken for sleep paralysis, or vice versa.

2004-08-30 [HiddenFire]: I knew that much, though not the programming aspect. In any case I am glad I had it. I do so love nightmares. ^_^
