2007-01-26 [Hedda]: is just great!
2007-01-26 [Hedda]: Oh, and I had no idea the horse had the legs curled up like that during the jump. I though they were pointing backwards all the time.
2007-01-27 [Lady Di]: Really? lol that's why I took a million different shots just of jumping. On the bigger jumps, horses curl their legs under so they don't drag behind. On smaller jumps, they don't need to do that because there isn't enough time in the air to curl their legs underneith
2007-01-27 [Hedda]: No, it hasn't got to do with only that. The thing is that I hadn't seen all the phases of the jump.
You can't say that is a low jump. But it's earlier in the jump and the image that got stuck in my memory.
2007-01-27 [moira hawthorne]: if they hung their legs back during the whole jump than after they landed on the fore legs.. they hind legs wouldnt be in position to land...
2007-01-27 [Hedda]: Not necessarily. Horses can land on their front legs while the hind legs are pointing backwards and it's enough to then start to bring them forward.
2007-01-28 [Lady Di]: When the horses go over the larger jumps, they tuck in their legs so they don't hit the bar. If their back feet dragged, their hind legs would get caught on the bar at the end of the jump
2007-01-28 [That One Fat Bastard]: whoevers jumping really sucks
2007-01-28 [Lady Di]: In which picture?
2007-02-18 Fion: the dapple grey at horse show is called Russel and is ridden bz top british rider nick skelton
2007-02-18 [Lady Di]: *nods* i know who it is. i didn't think that information was important since i didn't do the names of the horses and riders for the other horses in the show
2008-08-05 [Hedda]: I gave some of the photos better filenames.
2008-08-21 [Lady Di]: that's fine :) i don't mind
