How to use the Ancient Tongue

WARNING: Before you begin reading this, I would that you remember three things:
1 - This is a lot of reading, so you have to be willing to read it.
2 - This is much more simple than you seem to want to think it is!
3 - Open your mind, use your imagination!

The Basics

Theory

In theory, the Magic Words are very simple to use. They can be used much like the English language, for it’s own grammar rules have been lost and I shan’t waste your time with pronunciations. To simplify their use – You say something in the Old Tongue, then it happens.

Ex: You lean over a pile of dried wood, lighterless. You whisper the words; “Zhra tyrin (summon flame)” and a flame comes to life in the pile of wood before you.

Personality

Your personality, willpower as well as shear power, decides how well you can control this magic and how strong it will be.

Ex: Say you feel like showing off so you are going to summon a ball of flame over your fingertip.

Now, every person has his or her own control over the words. Some people may have been able to simply say “Tyrin (Fire)” to summon the fire over their fingertip, while others would have to say “Zhra tyrin (summon flame)” or even “Zhra tyrin, i’nâm enn pèhne (summon flame, over my finger)”. Everyone has different control, but generally you learn with simple words. The most common of these would be to hear “Zhra tyrin”.

That aside, you can use ANY combination of words as long as you can make it work. Here I can’t say that the sky is the limit. Not everyone can use the Magic Words, but for those who can YOU HAVE LIMITS! (Note the omnipotence rule in Rules, Regulations and Common Sense). It takes much more effort to make a volcano erupt than to summon flame on your fingertip! If you over do it (meaning that you cast a spell to that takes too much of your energy), you could go blind, age greatly, or even lose your life to that power. SO DON’T EXHAUST YOURSELF, casting spells does take energy!
Hopefully this list will give you an idea of where you stand:

Easy spell: (takes little energy) [Tael or Nyen depending on the temperature you want, Thýar pending on the thing]
Moderate spell: (Takes energy) [Lhen, Paine, Muîr]
Moderatly hard spell: (Takes a goodly amount of energy. You would be noticeably tired afterwards) [Lâmys (varying on weight and mass)]
Hard Spell: (You have to be pretty strong to do this spell without falling to sleep right away/unconscious. Though there are, of course, those who can use these easily enough. These are the Masters/Mistresses or very gifted) [Zhra, Yēnnyn, etc. on any form of intelligent creature (they are harder to trick), Tael or Nyen depending on the temperature you want]
Master spell: (These ones take a lot of power and you might not be moving much after casting it. This one could kill or blind those who don’t have the proper strength or training) [Thýar pending on the thing, Rùhvhān, Pháva, etc. (anything to do with a mind trick)]
Dangerous spell: (These are barely possible, but when possible, their consequences are always dire. These ones are for desperate Masters/Mistresses or the extremely and unnaturally gifted) [Zhra Hallân, Zhra Lōorken, Zhra Ivenúm, Zhra Lan, etc. (anything changing the position of the planet to make it look like a different time or changing time itself), Zhra any huge event (earthquake, volcano eruption, etc.), Zhra Valien (any holy or unholy thing could be cataclysmic)]

To clear something up. The Magic Words each have their own special power. The wielder puts them together to create a spell. There are only so many words, but the combinations you can make are infinate. If you still don't understand, don't hesitate to message [Mira Ravenheart].

I dont play evil characters, becuase I dont think I can. I dotn want to be another one of those softy wannabe dark vampires lol...If I was to be a vamp, I would have to replay the tortured self hating one, because I am not evil, nor can I rp evil lol. Not to be mean to stupid people or anything...cause everyone is ignorant about something...just some more than others. I just mean, I work best wiht rp chars that I can relate to, the more like me they are, the better I do at them...just how I work.

2006-01-05 [Mira Ravenheart]: I started out like that, but now I can basicaly play any type of character if I put my mind to it. I tend to be darker than I like to admit, on the inside, lol ^_^. You could say that I'm a woman of many faces. I can't say that I'm extensively intelligent, but it's hard to be stupid RPing in a world of your own creation, lol.
