2011-06-22 [Artsieladie]: (a work in progress...)

"The Magic Of Love"

A packet of seeds I anonymously received,
Curiosity aroused, I quickly retrieved.
So badly worn was the labeling adorning;
The words inscribed secluded a warning.

In fertile soil I planted each seed,
Waited and watched for the fruits of my deed.
At first it seemed, the seeds were duds,
But then one day, there sprouted some buds!

In no time flat they sprang up in bloom,
Their beauty breathtaking, vacating all gloom.
Resistance repealed, as with the apple and Eve,
A beauty was plucked, its sweetness to breathe.

Enjoying the scent, thus deeply inhaled,
Released the magic, the power unveiled.
All negative thoughts, masked in reasons of mind,
Vanished, replaced, with a much different kind.

The magic of love flooded my heart,
Seeking, consuming, its every part.
A wondrous healing or a magical spell,
I couldn't be sure, I could not tell.

But then behold, an added surprise,
A Cupid appeared before my starry eyes.
As with tradition, his dart shot true,
As it hit its mark, in plain view,
A small pouch dangled, with a book attached,
From the feathered end, but was quickly snatched.

The Cupid landed with a mischievous grin,
Proceeded to harp on the content within.
"This little book holds value unmeasured,
The knowledge contained must always be treasured.
Before I release this book to you,
There's something for me that you must do."

As he said these words, he cracked open the book,
A prismatic light glowed, the earth just shook.
Attention demanded, attention thus gained,
The silence so deafening, energy drained.
No words could be spoken from this statue frozen,
But then he proceeded with the spell unbroken.

"There is a promise that you must keep
And then follow through three steps deep.
If your promise you break, the results are tragic,
For such will extinguish the good in magic.
An evil infection like a virulent weed,
With hate and dissension, will rampantly breed."

The covers of the book, he spread open wide,
Revealing its origin, engraved inside.
On the entire front page in letters of gold
The title, "The Magic of Love", embossed and bold.
The Cupid closed his eyes, with his fingertips,
Traced over the letters as a kiss left his lips.

Without saying a word, his eyes met mine,
Instructed, I followed with the traditional sign.
As I placed my hand over my heart,
I repeated his lines to finish from start.

Cupid: "I solemnly swear to faithfully uphold,
The meaning of love, that it gets told."

I:   "I solemnly swear to faithfully uphold,
The meaning of love, that it gets told."

Cupid: "Everywhere I go with everyone I reach,
By my own example I'll try to teach."

I:   "Everywhere I go with everyone I reach,
By my own example I'll try to teach."

Cupid: "If I fall short of the goal intending,
May the love I give, return, amending."

I:   "If I fall short of the goal intending,
May the love I give, return, amending."

Cupid: "When hatred looms, despair or grief,
With the flower of love, I'll bring relief."

I:   "When hatred looms, despair or grief,
With the flower of love, I'll bring relief."

Cupid: "Planting its seeds, watching the blooms,
Replacing with love, all doom and glooms."

I:   "Planting its seeds, watching the blooms,
Replacing with love, all doom and glooms."

The cupid smiling, began to dance.
He plucked a petal so to enhance.
As he blew it upwards, towards the sun,
Rain drops of hearts, a shower begun.

Dipped in a rainbow palette across the sky,
A shower of hues tumbling, floating by;
As each little heart kissed the earth,
A flower of love sprang up, gave birth.

Until at last in a garden I stood,
Surrounded in love, it felt so good!
Awestruck and speechless, I looked around,
No words could describe this world, profound!
Indeed entranced, a willing captive enslaved,
Indelible impressions on my soul engraved.

Then Cupid's voice, the silence sheared,
With a snap of his fingers, my senses cleared.
"Now for the steps I mentioned of three,
The first step.." *claps hands* "..Are you with me?"

I nodded and so, he continued his speech,
"There's knowledge to learn, to practice and teach.
From cover to cover, you must read this book,
There'll be questions to answer. Here, just look!"

He flipped to the back, pointed, looked at me.
There was a tiny keyhole that I could see.
"When you are prepared, I'll unlock this for you,
There's more inside," he whispered. "Spells too!"

(to be continued...)

2011-10-10 [Sir_Hans]: I can hear you read this poem to me Sharon with your elfish-cupid voice. -smiles- ♥ I would like to see you put up all the art you've made that goes with this theme, the "Magic of Love" but not here. You, your art, your devotion, your passion, and everything else about you is too good for this place. You gave to him and his sites 100% with all you had, your time, your work, your money. What did he give you in return? He took, took, took and humiliated you, degraded you, lied to you, insulted you, invaded your privacy, harassed you, threatened you, and is now guilty of defamation of your character for which I will make sure he is held fully accountable for so help me God! *HUG* XOX's ♥
