Moonlight in California: The Pack pt19

True to his word Dallas came to wake Lynn up around six in the morning, the sun wasn't up yet. But he had Marcus's permission to leave when he wanted, and getting away from this place was all he wanted right now. "Morning Lynn, you ready to move out?" he asked standing at the foot of her bed.

Lynn groaned softly and rubbed her eyes. She yawned and sat up, before looking at Dallas like he was crazy. "I'm going to need a minute... to brush my hair and teeth... and dress. My bag is on the table." She said gesturing in that general direction. She had been excited to leave the pack behind again and yet nervous as well and hadn't gone to bed until just a few hours before Dallas came to wake her.

Dallas smiled at her, "Am I gonna have to tie you to me while we ride so you don't fall off? I'll go get you a cup of coffee for you to drink before we leave." He smiled at her and grabbed her bag on the way out the door to tie everything to the bike and get her coffee.

Lynn mumbled as he left and got up and dressed in the tight jeans and chaps, and a t-shirt, putting her hair in a braid and tying it off she then headed toward the cafeteria to meet Dallas for that coffee.

There was only Dallas and Rick in the cafeteria when she arrived, both greeted warmly and Dallas gestured to the extra cup sitting on the table. As she took a seat Rick sparked up a little conversation, "Lynn have you ever seen the West Coast? I rode the Pacific Coast Highway once just for fun, great views and some good food at roadside places." Dallas shook his head, "I doubt that Marcus will want us opening a shrimp shack on the PAC."

She sank into the seat and sipped at the waking juice gratefully. Though it was the act and the warmth that effected her. "Never... I was supposed to go to a professional restaurant there once I was almost done with college." She giggled softly at the idea of a werewolf shrimp shack then. She sipped her coffee though and yawned one more time covering it with her hand. She was waking up thoroughly now. "I didn't travel much before." She offered with a shrug as it was a fact.

Dallas finished his cup, "You want us to find a shrimp shack, Kristy wants a mexican place, Shelia likes the bar and grills and Marcus doesn't give a shit where we go. Lynn gets to decide the final place after we locate usable places." Dallas said giving her a smile.

"What if we found a bar that served mexican shrimp?" Lynn giggled softly but finished her drink and stood. "I'll try to pick a place that has other places not far for food." She says with a soft smile for Rick before she heads out of the room dropping her cup off at the counter first.

Dallas shook his head and then followed Lynn out to the bike, Rick called out for them to travel safe. Once outside Dallas took a deep breath of clean air and smiled at Lynn, "Ready to get out there? I figured a couple miles down the way we will pull off and eat, but if you see something you want then give me a poke okay." He then threw his leg over the motorcycle and waited for Lynn.

"Yeah... and I'll let you know." Lynn said also taking a deep breath of fresh air. She smiled softly and watched him get on the bike. She then threw her own leg over and snuggled up against his back. She was very ready for it to be him and her again.

Dallas smiled as Lynn snuggled up to him, it was like old times and it warmed his heart. A little while down the road his hand sneaked back and squeezed her knee like when they first started riding together. He wasn't in a huge rush to get where they were going and waited for her to pick a spot for breakfast.

Lynn smiled as Dallas squeezed her knee, she snaked her arms around his waist then. It wasn't long after that she tapped his arm and pointed over his shoulder at an I.h.o.p., they would both be able to find something to eat there. Plus they were far enough away from the pack they could talk and be each other, with each other. She was looking forward to it actually, being forced to spend time with Marcus and shift had given her time to want to fix things with Dallas. She wanted to know what the plans were, why they were going to California when they avoided well populated places for years.

Dallas pulled into the lot and parked the bike in a spot they could see from the window. "IHOP? I thought you were a roadside mom and pop place?" he asked as she got off the bike. Once he got off he smiled at her, "But, I did say you pick the place, so pancakes it is." They went inside and were shown to a booth near the windows and the waitress got them coffee while they looked over the menu.

"Maybe I want to do something normal and couple like?" Lynn smiled at him as she got off the bike and then, took his hand into her own as they headed inside and sat down. She sat next to him instead of across from him. They wouldn't be allowed this close in the pack ever, so she wanted what she could get completely now. Once seated she rested her head against his shoulder and held his hand tightly.

Dallas slipped his arm around her and held the menu in the other, "So this is couple like huh? I like it." When the waitress returned he ordered a short stack, eggs and sausage and waited for Lynn to order as well. "By the way, close your eyes cause I have something to give you." he said fishing in his pocket.

"I just want to be near you." Lynn sighed softly, happily. She ordered eggs and hash browns and toast, and once the waitress was gone she closed her eyes obediently for him. A small smile on her lips at the idea of him putting her necklace back on her once more. She had missed it.

Sure enough he clasped the necklace and let it dangle before giving her a quick kiss. "You didn't really think I was gonna leave that behind us did you?" he asked with a raised eyebrow.

"I would never think you would leave it behind." She replied softly before giving him a kiss to his lips softly and settling at his side again, resting her head on his shoulder. "I am very glad we are going to be together again." She said softly closing her eyes and hugging his arm.

"Back on the road, only this time heading to Vegas then on to Los Angeles. At some point we need to go take a swim in the Pacific." Dallas said taking her hand in his own.

"We'll have to buy me a suit. Since Marcus doesn't take us to hotels or houses that have pools I don't have one. Wait... we are really going to Vegas first?" Lynn asked looking up at Dallas with a slightly surprised look on her face. She was glad to going with Dallas and being close to him. Being near Marcus and intimate felt wrong now, and she was just glad to be at peace with Dallas now.

Dallas chuckled and leaned over to give her a kiss on the cheek, "Yup, Vegas bound for a couple days. Then who knows, maybe we will just go swimming without them if you want." he teased skinny dipping. Nearby a family was eating and their little girl was more interested in Dallas and Lynn then her pancakes.

"I think having a suit would be better." Lynn laughed softly, she was smiling ear to ear though, so glad to have time just the two of them again. Spending time together. Though with that came a little fear of being hunted down by a hunter since it was just the two of them again.

When they finished eating they went back out to the bike and set off on the road again, "You tell me when you need a break okay. I don't want to over do it on the first day of riding." Dallas said getting back on and starting the bike. He could ride almost straight through to California, but he knew that it wouldn't happen with Lynn on the back. A couple days to a week getting to Los Angeles would be fine, more than likely the pack would remain there a couple days anyways.

Lynn gave him her word she would let him know when her back or legs needed a break. She knew she was going to be what slowed then down, again. She got on behind him and rested her cheek again his back and kept her arms around his waist. She preferred to ride with him like this. She didn't care so much about the traveling, she cared much more about who she traveled with and how the trip went. She lasted until dinner time before she felt her stomach rumble and let him know she needed a break, he legs would be tired certainly but she had been doing some exercises and cooking in the big kitchen helped as well.

They pulled into a local eatery in Grand Junction called GURU's kitchen and Dallas shutoff the engine, "You want to head in first while I set up a room for the night?" They had passed a local motel and that would be home for the night.

"that works for me Babe." Lynn said slowly getting off the bike and taking a moment to stand and let the blood flow in her legs properly. She may have over-estimated the exercises and her body's ability to hold out, because now her lower back ached from that position as well. "I'm a bit stiffer than I had hoped I'd be." She smiled softly for Dallas as she shook her legs just a little bit.

"Some good food and a hot shower will fix you up. I might even get some oil and rub ya down." Dallas said with a smile. He took out his phone and dialed the motel's phone number and began to ask about room rates and what they had available. Lynn could smell the food from the restaurant it was in full swing, but she could see a couple open tables through the window.

Lynn smiled and agreed softly. She turned to the restaurant then and her stomach grumbled loudly, as she smelled the food and spotted an empty table. "I'll see you in there." Lynn smiled even though a blush was rising to her cheeks, as she headed albeit stiffly to the restaurant.

GURU's was a newer age Nepalese restaurant, so some spices and generous vegetables and meats of all kinds. A waitress showed her to a table and offered to explain anything off of the menu to her and went to go get her drink. A little while later Dallas arrived and took a seat beside her, "So anything catch your eye?" He ordered a coke and opened the menu to look and see what he might like.

"Yes a couple of these dishes are so full of spices! I've got a list of what I want to try but I didn't want to order before you came in and had a chance to look over the menu too." Lynn said smiling brightly as Dallas came and sat beside her, she immediately leaned against him and got close, the shyness from being around the pack away melting away in the time that they had been riding together.

Dallas let his hand rest on her thigh and rubbed it lightly, "I'm thinking of trying this lamb curry myself. I found a place that rents out a small vacation house that we can use tonight, comes with a hot tub and spot outside for a fire if you want." He hoped she'd be agreeable to this place, he wanted to make this trip easy and get back to being comfortable with each other again.

"That sounds so nice actually. We haven't been allowed to have an outside fire in such a long time." Lynn said with a small smile on her face. She was a tiny bit anxious about being close, and being alone but at the same time she wanted to be with Dallas, she had missed him and his closeness.

"Any supplies you can think of that we might need?" he asked after they had ordered. He thought about getting a small bottle of something or other and whatever she wanted food wise. Most night's on the road before he was turned it was a bottle of whiskey and maybe a sandwhich from some roadside diner. Lynn refined his pallete some, now he would rather eat something she cooked rather than someplace fast.
