Soarinel's Kingdom

The sun peaked over fields and lit up the forest with an ember light streaked with rose red tips. The white marble of the castle was pink in the sunrise, looking to spring on fire at any moment. The slow burbling water that ran as brook along a dirt-packed path stilled the setting creating a sense of false peace in the land. The wooden bridge, holding a fair maiden glancing into the slowly rushing waters beneath her, held steady despite the tension that was blowing in with the wind that tossed the tree tops.

The book was missing and the people were growing to fear the inevitable onslaught of demons and drow from the North. A chill in the air announced the coming of a cold winter and echoed the threat of war on their doorstep. The land this morning was still, as it had been for weeks now. Stillness was not normal of this place; the usual festivities, activities and workings of the well managed elven city was subdued with fear and anxiety.

Depsite the work of King Soarinel to keep relative peace and have things run as they normally would the tension was just too much for all of them. Now he was calling together a group of Human Paladins and his own high ranking Magicians and Generals to recover their lost Book of Rune and allow the city it's time of peace and happiness once again.

2009-12-06 [Mediocracy At It's Best]: Soarinel sat on his throne, well half-lounged across the nicely coushined area, and rubbed at his temples with his long fingers. This whole situation was not good, not good at all and his head was about to be served on a plate if he could not right it. For years, the Book of Rune rested in the Kingdom safely under the control of the Elves and now, under his watch, it was gone. It was obviously taken from someone on the inside but who? Sitting next to him was Jouan, the young Elven scholar. Together they were pulling together a group of warriors, mages and hunters to track down the whereabouts of the Kingdom's power. Sitting back in his seat he looked over at the woman. "The council asked for your opinion in this group as well, who ever shows up, general to lower mage, your take on their ability counts, Jouan."

The Elf Maiden nodded with a delicate smile. "Of course, my king. Who ever shows up for you, I will make sure they are right for the job. What ever I can read of them, I will tell you about, good or bad. Your announcement for those who felt they could help to show up was put out days ago and so they should be arriving at any time. I certainly hope that there is a range of different people to find the Book of Rune, my lord." The elf girl sat back quietly afterwards and both glanced towards the door, waiting for someone...anyone to show up.

2009-12-17 [Eyden13]: Devin slowly opened the door to Soarinel's Throne room. A messanger had told her the the king has wanted to see her, and with the Book missing she wasn't sure if it was a good thing. "You wanted to see me my lord." She bowed, acknowledging the king and Jouan.

2009-12-17 [Mediocracy At It's Best]: The king smiled in her direction and nodded slowly. "Ah yes, Devin. Come in," he said extending his arm open to allow her closer. He eyed the black cat at her heels and glanced to Jouan who was intently watching the magician before them. "I need to gather a group to get that Book of Rune back. I've watched you progress in your talent and hoped you accept my request to band together with others and retrieve it."

2009-12-18 [Eyden13]: Devin blinked at the king and just maged to get a little squeek out. "Me?" She was stunned, she was the youngest elf at the palace.

2009-12-18 [Talos Cyrion]: Kasser, resplendant in his armor, entered the throne room. Having recieved the kings' summons while still afield he hadn't bothered to don formal attire "You summoned me my lord?" he said bowing. He was mildly irratated at having been called away from the pursuit of a roving band of drow, but as always the matters of the King where paramount of anything else.

2009-12-21 [Mediocracy At It's Best]: "Yes, Devin. You." He smiled at the young woman and turned his eyes to his General. He could tell that he was slightly annoyed at being pulled away from his duties. "Ah, Kasser!" the King said. "I have a new job for you. I need the Book of Ruins back and I need you to head the group that is to retrieve it. Devin here, will be helping you. Along with others." He watched the two for a moment, looking for a reaction.

2009-12-21 [Talos Cyrion]: you need me to do what?! Where the thoughts that came to Kassers mind "Yes my lord" He said making a fist with his left hand and placing it over his heart with a bow "What do you wish me to do my lord?"

2009-12-25 [Eyden13]: Devin continued to blink, leaving Kasser to do the talking. After all he was going to be the leader. When she finally got her barings she turned to the three. "Is there anything special I'm needed for or can be of service for?"

2010-05-19 [Talos Cyrion]: Kasser let his eyes dart briefly from side to side before returning his eyes to the king, awaiting the reply that would send him and his men on their ways.

2010-05-19 [Eyden13]: Devlin looked down when she felt Ira rub against her leg. What is it little one? She knew he wouldn't answer back, but she had yet to get a reply from the king.
