Prozzak...The band, not the pill.
By [Poindextra]
Amid the world of one-hit wonders and labeled subcultures, we have many names for many things. Punks, Goths, Preps, Jocks, Surfers...and the all-too-popula
r Emo.
Many bands are associated with this Emo subculture. From Fall Out Boy, Dashboard Confessional, 3 Doors Down and many others, we forget the true birth of Emo songs...Prozzak.
Yes, Prozzak. I know you may be thinking "Who the heck?" Well, Prozzak is a little band consisting of two very amusing animated characters: Simon and Milo. Simon is the neckless blue-haired little guy who never seems to hold a good relationship. Milo is the blonde, burly muscle man who always manages to help him through his dilemmas (listen to Saturday People, you'll know what I mean.)
With the two of them, you can't go wrong. They have a very relatable lyric quality and can go from upbeat flamenco-style to slow dance song in a matter of minutes. Their music is variable but consistent. I know for a fact that whenever I listen to them, I always feel a little better knowing I can relate to a song and I'm not alone.
I don't remember exactly when Prozzak was formed, but it was sometime in the 90's, long before the Emo subculture was thought up. One thing is for sure, Prozzak's music is very emotional and thought-provoking.
