They took the sun from our faces,
They took the wind from our hair,
They took the smell of morning dew,
They took the warmth of our blood,
Let us take their souls…

Anonymous, Dah'kin Spire Bible

One day, the Weaklings found that the slave masters did not come to pick up the product of their mine, that there was no news from the world above Skarrad for the first time in 200 thousand years. And for the first time in generations, they felt free; yet, they knew not what to do with their freedom. At first they intended to return to the carefree and lethargic life they had lived for many thousands of years, before being enslaved, yet, after ages of hard work, their hearts yearned for something more. Not knowing what to do, the Weaklings delved their caves as they had done before, only this time, they kept the product of their work for themselves. Soon they became skilled craftsmen and wealthy, although they had no use for their wealth. The Weaklings delved in all directions and eventually found that their powers of old were no more, only the power of earth remained.

However, when they tried to use this power to create beautiful gardens like those of old, they found that they withered and died with the sun. And so they became interested in the arts of death, as they advanced in the necromancy, the Weaklings were called to the deeps of the earth, and there they found the Spire. The Spire was a gigantic force of undeath, formed by the souls of the old races exterminated by the Nai'ithar conquests. Using their newly gained necromantic powers, the Weaklings detached completely from their Nai'ithar origins and adopted the Spire as their new source of power and founded around it their capital and centre of the spire church, Daerah, ruled by the devious Arn'ria, the soul hunter. Soon the weaklings reached the world above and they discovered that after hundreds of thousands of years of living in shadows, the sun burned their skin and their eyes, and, confined to Skarrad their expanded their kingdom and their hatred for the Nai'ithar grew beyond reason as they adopted a new name, the Dah'kin, revenge.

Then the war came raging through the realms. The War of corruption began far on the north, with Thadre's awakening near Ki'afisal. Arn'ria and her Daughters stood in delight, watching their hated enemies fall one by one. Her youngest son, however, saw thing differently. Prince Nim'ael acted behind his mother's back and forged an alliance with Empress Claudia Orator of Caessen and Shalar Angeti of the Catfolk clans. With their help Nim'ael killed his mother and took control of the Spire itself. He became a living god and faced Thadre in battle, defeating him. Now he rules almighty amongst the Dah'kin.

Appearance: The Dah'kin measure between 1.60 and 1.80 metres. Their skin is very pale and their hair is snow white or light grey. Their eyes are black or grey and they possess pointy ears with small dents on the tips. They tend to have necromantic tatoos on their chestsand arms, never on the face. They are of slim build.

Dah'kin Culture - Dah'kin completely lack of respect for the lives of others. They possess a hive mentality in which the individual means nothing. The highest Dah'kin class is conformed by the Spire Priestess, who serve Nim'ael directly. They appreciate powerful magics and vengeance as they use their enemies souls to power their machines. In the last few years Nim'ael has allowed a greater level of understanding between the Dah'kin and the other races. However they are still frowned upon by other beings.
