Training Area 1 history 2

"Uhm... ok..." replied Abbot not really getting Meridian's joke. "That would be 150 gold pieces to teach you flank."

Meridian shrugged at the trainer's oblivious response. He handed over the requisite gold and prepared to learn flank. "Whenever you're ready, Abbot," he said, hoping to learn the skill and be on his way, as he did not particularly enjoy this man's presence.

Meridian learned flank!

"Thanks," said Meridian. The shadow warrior turned and left to rejoin his comrades at training area 5.

Walking at a confident pace, Oda entered the training area with his guisarme balanced on one shoulder. "I would like to learn a skill as well as improve my strength." he said with a semi-polite bow.

"Oh! hello" replied Abbot "Welcome back sire, what skill did you have in mind eh?" asked the Paladin with a radiant smile.

Dismissing the Paladin's smile and friendly greeting, Oda went on to answer his question. "Flurry of blows, if that's not too much to ask."

"Not at all, good man, a skill of that level would cost 250 gold pieces to learn though." replied Abbot knowing it was quite a bit of money.

"I have enough." Oda shrugged and counted out 250 gold pieces, he kept the small sack of gold in one hand and the 250 pieces in the other. "What about the strength training?" he asked shortly, curious to know how much that would affect his funds.

"It would cost you 90 gold pieces to increase your strength, good sir." replied Abbot with his ever present gleaming grin.

With a small shrug, Oda added 90 more coins onto the 250. Wondering what the paladin was so pleased about, he handed the 340 coins over and hoped the training would be worth it.

Oda's STR increased to 7!
Oda learned Flurry of Blows!

"My thanks..." Oda said with a short bow. Weary of Abbot's gleaming grin and pleasant manner, the fencer left for training area 2 in search for Donovan and Meridian.

Iju entered the training areas, and immedialty saw Abbot. He walked over to the man, and greeted him. "Hello, you're the trainer I presume? I'm Iju. I'd like to learn more combat skills. Erm... even though I don't eactly know where to begin, I'm sure I have to begin with myself! I have to think about with what though. Well, uhm, let's see... I might want to learn about... claws! and anything that could help me with my speed! You're the master! Tell me stuff! Please, that is, of course, my good man."

"Hahah! good things to learn indeed!" replied Abbot getting as excited as Iju was all the time. "I could teach you to handle a particular type of claw for 75 gold pieces, or to handle ALL types of claws for 250! And your speed, well I could help you increase it for 90 gold pieces."

"Oh, I'd like to get faster!" Iju said, as he imagined becoming lighting fast. That way, he'd be able to evade alot more hits! Although he was ever the optimist, he wasn't really happy about his fights in the arena. "Here's 90 gold, my speedy trainer, I'm ready!"

Iju's speed increased by 1!
Iju's dexterity is now 7

Having finished his training, Iju hopped around some more, poking his sword into the air, testing his higher speed. Then, still sparring with air, he spoke to Abbot (keeping his blade away from the trainer). "Can't you teach something which can help me handle my weapon better, perhaps? Or handle two weapons at once? Seeing shields will only slow me down."

"Of course, good sir, I can teach the basics of fighting with two weapons at once for only 200 gold pieces, what do you say?" replied Abbot promptly.

"The basics? How much would it cost to master it? Then I could try and get the money so I come train here some more." Iju said. "But before I go, yeah, I'd like to learn the basics."

"Once you learn the basics, it would cost you 500 more gold pieces to master fighting with two weapons." replied Abbot putting his hand out so Iju could pay him for the two weapon fighting training.

"Here you go." Iju said having counted out 200 gold pieces. "I'll have to lend a weapon of you though, you'll get it back after training. I don't have two weapons yet. I'll have to get one after we finish."

Iju learned two weapon fighting!

"Right on, thanks alot! I'll be off to the shops now, and I'll be back as soon as possible for the rest of the training." Iju said, bidding Abbot farewell and exiting the training areas.

Kei'ria walked into the area, looking Abbot in the eye as soon as he saw them, "You must be the trainer around here...you seem to be quite a warrior, but now down to business. I am hoping that I could possibly get some training, maybe work as an apprentice for you."

"An apprentice? I certainly don't know if I need an apprentice right now." pondered Abbot placing his hand on his chin and striking one of his picture-perfect poses. "But... you're a mage type aren't you? why would you want to apprentice under a Knight? Lia is the red magic expert in the Arena. You see mages are often too flimsy to follow on the ways of the knight, but alas." he said dramatically. "I shall not deny you an oportunity to prove thy worth! I'll put you to the test, if you pass you can become my apprentice if you want, what say you?"

"Truth is, I am no mere mage, I am a...shall we say...Knight in mages garb. As for the test, I am more then willing to attend to the task," Kei'ria said, giving a light chuckle at Abbot.

"Truth, Igneans are always feisty, not as sturdy and tough as Terrans, but feisty nonetheless." replied Abbot with a slight bow. "You see, I've had this quest up in the bulletin board for quite some time, yet no one dares take it, should you succeed in it, you can be apprenticed to me, its an easy grade quest, relating to my lonely days, I'm sure you'll have no trouble finding it on the board."

"Ahh, I see you are seeking a woman, I'll see what I can do for you then, but as for now, I seek to fight alonside some new comnrades of mine to earn some fame amidst this arena grounds, but I will be on the llokout for a woman for you," Kei'ria said, laughing lightly at the Paladin.

"Fair enough, do not forget to write your name down under the quest so others know you've taken the challenge, return here once you've completed your mission, young ignean." replied Abbot in the manner of a farewell.

Kei'ria nodded to Abbot as he walked out the door and back into the colloseum to try to find the Paladin a woman.

Ke'rehl entered the grounds, and found Abbot. He approached him and asked,"How much would it cost to learn defensive stance?"

Abbot noticed Ke'rehl as well and turned to him. "Oh! finally, an apprentice! The price is usually 150 gold pieces. But say, I am in need of a valiant knight to do me a service, if you're interested, I'll teach you the skill for free should you complete my quest. What say you?" replied the Paladin after striding towards Ke'rehl.

Ke'rehl crossed his arms and asked,"What is this task?"

"Oh, its very simple, locate a fellow named Kei'ria who was supposed to perform the task for me initially, simply tell him I sent you and you will be taking care of it instead and he should tell you the finer details." smiled Abbot.

Ke'rehl stiffened, and glared at Abbot. "I accept and will finish the task. Now I take my leave." stated Ke'rehl. He turned and left the area, in search for Kei'ria.

Coming into the training area, Virul slowed down his pace, allowing the young wolf pup Roué to catch up before saying to Abbot, "Good day, sirrah. I have come to further brush up on my fighting abilities, namely of the dual weapons variety." The thief motioned toward his epees, "I wish, good sir, to improve my two weapon fighting skills. I believe the cost was 600 coins, was it not?"

"Oh! Hello my good Sir Virul! Yes, it'll be 600 gold pieces, you must be carrying quite a bit of gold, feel free to purchase any other services while you're here! I could even open my special training Gauntlet for you for a small fee." replied Abbot with a smile.

"Hm hm, observant fellow." Virul grinned as he thought on what else he should be learning. How to counter? It would be particularly useful for a hit-and-run fighter such as himself and would also make him even more of a threat at close-range... though he'll still have to do something about his long-range and magical attacks. Doesn't hurt to have it, in any case. Making up his mind, the thief nodded once and spoke up, "Very well then, learning how to effectively counter attacks would be of great interest to me... and what is this special training gauntlet of thine?"

Tylien entered and heard a bit of what Virul said, and though it was slightly interested in the issue, it decided to just state its business. "Well, hello, Virul Bassior. I hope you did not condemn my flight before making one yourself." While it was in the training area, Tylien figured that it could get some training as well, but it stayed quiet for the moment.

Abbot smiled and replied to Virul's inquiries. "Very well then, good sir, I'll make you a complete, special price of 1200 gold pieces for both techniques and I'll open my Gauntlet for you, its a special area for fighter types to test their mettle." said the Paladin swiftly tapping his gauntlet against the armor on his chest. "I've also suited it with some special creatures which can offer real-life combat experience."

Looking over at Tylien as it spoke to him, Virul raised an eyebrow in slight confusion, not really understanding what it was talking about. Deciding that he didn't really need to say anything, the thief turned his attention to Abbot and handed over said 1,200 coins before replying, "This gauntlet intrigues me, Sir Abbot. I should very much like to try it out."

Virul learned Counterattack!
Virul learned Improved Two Weapon Fighting!

Seeing Virul seemed a bit slow in the head, Tylien wasted no more time in geting its main point across. "Will you give me my share of the money we got?"

"Huh..." Virul dropped down to the floor after having gone through the grueling training and allowed himself to breathe in and out deeply. Glancing at Tylien as it spoke to him once again, the thief experienced one of his rare moments of annoyance and coldly replied, "So thou run away with thy tail between thine legs without collecting thine measly share, and now thou walketh about demanding thine share? At the moment, I need the money." Staying silent for a moment as he allowed himself to rest some more, Virul soon followed up, "And if thou art going to go through one of thine hissy fits over 20 coins despite everything I have ever done for thee, well, so be it." Feeling the moment of annoyance pass away after having spoken his piece, he then turned to Abbot and nodded once, "I apologize for the interruption, sirrah. Please show me this guantlet that thou speak'th about."

Tylien, for a change, looked angrily at Virul. "There you go, condemned my escape right after having made yours at the stables. How noble, indeed! Are you perhaps blind for not seeing the way the knight looked at me, telling me to go to hell without saying a word? And you, a thief, blaming me for cowardliness!" Tylien thought for a moment what sort of excuse was "needing the money" supposed to be, but then just said: "I need the money as much as you do. But if you wish to keep it just because you think your cowardliness is somehow better than mine, then so be it." Tylien took a few steps to random directions but stayed in the area, waiting for its turn.

"Here you go Lad, it is a small dungeon I had build under the training area for training purposes, you can have a key as part of the special deal." replied Abbot as he handed Virul a heavy Iron Key.

"And I thank thee for it, good sir." Virul bowed slightly as he took the key. Having decided to ignore Tylien as it yelled at him, the thief knelt down and scratched Roue behind the ears with a light smile for a few seconds before getting up and glancing toward the grounds. It isn't very wise to go into some monster-infested training area with just a wolf pup as company. With that thought in mind, the thief called out, "Come, Roue" and headed off for Training Area 3.

"Yet another grand escape by the hypocritical master of 'cowards'", said Tylien, watching Virul go. "At least I have a reason!" Taking afew deep breaths, it then actually turned to Abbot, and continued, more reservedly now: "Good day, master. I wish to receive training to improve my constitution, if possible. Perhaps something else as well, but I will think of that later."

"Hello good sir... indeed, you look like a flimsy fella... are you sure you can take it though?" asked Abbot with a concerned tone as he looked at Tylien.

Tylien sighed and let out a very small chuckle at the same time. It answered, as if continuing what Abbot said: "...Which is exactly why I should do it. So that I can take it." After a short pause it added: "Though I would of course object if you just told that as justification for beating me to pulp. How much would the training cost to double my ability?"

"Double it! My! that's gonna take all I've got, it'll probably add up to 180 gold pieces, my good friend." replied Abbot as he lightly patted Tylien in the back, however Tylien felt as if its eyes were going to come out of its sockets for a second and it was pretty sure he had somehow hurt its spine.

Tylien gagged when Abbot patted it and coughed afterwards. "Be careful, I have an egg to be carried", it commented and then moved on to take off its cloak, leaving it wrapped up around the egg which it placed in some sheltered place so that they (or anyone else) wouldn't at least unintentionally harm it. Tylien then took out the money, gave it away and waited for the training to begin.

"Ok! Let us begin by setting a diet which will build up muscle, since we're going to have to go little by little (point by point) it is important that you have the energy to withstand the training!" replied Abbot with a smile. "Now, are there things you are completely against eating?"

Tylien looked at Abbot curiously and then pondered his words for a moment. "I would have to say I would not become a cannibal except in an emergency, nor would I eat poison or things that are generally non-edible, like rocks... Was that what you meant?"

Uthgar entered the room and saw that Abbot had someone there already. Deciding not to interrupt, he made his way over to where the melee dummies were standing, drew his battleaxe from his belt, and began to attack one as though it was an opponent... an immobile opponent.

"Ehrm.. not really." replied Abbot with a sigh. "But I can interpret it enough to answer my question." he continued. "Oh..." then he noticed Uthgar, turning towards the warrior he bowed in an apologetic manner. "I am sorry sir, but I wouldn't just wait here, this is going to take a LONG time... maybe come back in a few days?" before Uthgar could reply, he turned back to Tylien and continued. "We'll put you in a heavy protein diet, we'll be pumping as much fat and meat into you as humanly possible." laughed the Paladin with a grin. "First off, run along to the Mess Hall and ask Bob to make you a "Training Breakfast", tell the old fart to put it in my tab."

Looking a little crestfallen, Uthgar nodded as Abbot tended to his student. Placing his axe back in his belt, he made his way to the Lemirian Colosseum.
