Vesper Lucero Etoile

Species Traits: Tons look remarkably like humans, but they have slightly pointed ears and their eyes are are more beautiful than gems. They have remarkable healing abilities, even able to regenerate up to 25% of a removed limb. This makes them easily 'upgradeable' and they have taken to being 'improved' rather openly and easily. They look rather harmless but the species also has a long spine on each arm that comes out of the forearm near the back of the wrist and extends back toward the elbow, and six spines that can come out along the actual spine and extend downward toward the 'tail bone' that stand up when irritated or frightened. They also have an unnoticeable set of second teeth inside the normal looking ones which are much like an eels, all small, sharp, pointy, and dangerous. They are a rather empathic species, but also feed off certain feelings (like sadness or fear, anger and fury), like food, which can make them more dangerous (although as they 'eat' it, it removes it from you). Only fueled by others' anger and such are they able to fight, otherwise they are rather calm species. Although they eat emotions, if people are in good spirits (feelings they can feel and identify but not consume), they can sustain themselves on human foods that contain mood altering chemicals, such as strawberries, chocolate, and coffee.

Description: Vesper has pitch black hair that is always pinned up some how when she is working, otherwise the feathery locks fall about her head and shoulders messily. She hardly ever puts in the effort to tame it. Her eyes are a crystalline green, almost yellow color and she has three piercings in each ear. These piercings serve a purpose though. Each one is a communicator of sorts with different parts of the ship. On a personal scale, she has been upgraded with 'x-ray' vision where she can see through anything, as much or as little as she wants. Her fingers have tools installed in them like scalpels and such for her position (one even has a small needle with a sack of tranquilizers in her arm).

Personality: Vesper is actually quite nice and sweet, though rather placid and calm about it. She is very easy to talk to (though that may be because she's eating your bad feelings) and can be motherly when she needs to be, but is mostly just a good friend. She doesn't really have enemies.

History: Vesper actually came onto the ship with her family, her mother and father being picked up as soldiers. The medic took her on when he realized she was a kind of empath (and that she was causing trouble without her parents around to handle her). So she was fit with the medical installations when she was still fairly young and required by law and contract that she not use them for any reason except for medical reasons (or there would be legal repercussions). She seemed to need this strict hand of interference and has since calmed a bit like an adult Ton, her piercings and mechanical parts acting as a kind of leash. She, her species, has been compared to the domesticated canine or Earth, but she ignores it. She doesn't work for anyone, she thinks. She did this willingly. And as she agreed to it, she is bound by honor and her word to uphold what she has promised to do. She is not quite a doctor yet, but another decade and she will surpass the medic for sure.

Other: Vesper likes books and can often be found in the main library, or in her own small one in her quarters when she is not in the medical ward. She is often seen with a cup of coffee of some sort at least near her.

Hobbies/Pets: She has a male black cat named Modus. He stays in her quarters.
