X-Men Party Hall

The party hall is set up with a long table, topped with trays of food and snacks, consisting of several fruits (strawberries, grapes, watermelon, anything, really), cheese cubes, chips and dip, pretzels, chocolate candy bars, etc., along with a giant bowl of blood red (fruit punch flavored) punch and a water dispenser at the end. Plates, utensils, napkins and cups are placed in several areas along the table for students' convenience, and large, round tables are set up with Halloween-esque table cloths and decorations (fake autumn leaves, bats, ghost, etc.), allowing up to 8 people to sit at each one.

X-Men Party Hall Hist1.

Monday, October 31st

Costume descriptions!

Addy - Vesper Lynd, James Bond girl, black dress, jewelry, hair, and make-up, complete with cast on her leg, a wrap around her hand, and a pair of crutches. http://histficchick.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/VEsper.jpg http://images.cosplay.com/i/costumes/200/175732.jpg

Endelyn - A princess; Her dress (Well, Addy's dress) is long and blue, and flows out, making it look like a waterfall. The sleeves are long, so she struggles a little to get her hands out from them. Her hair is in a long braid, all done thanks to Laurel.

Flame - Sexy demon. Black leather hotpants, tank top, stiletto boots. Fake horns, tail, and demon wings. Hair in pony-tail, long nails, sharpened teeth.

Justin - completely forgot it was Halloween because he had been holed up in his room since the incident. He used his already sunken and frazzled appearance to base a thrown together zombie costume with a ripped white shirt and dark red marker running down the sides of his mouth and on his shirt, along with blackened rings under his eyes.

Kaider - mad scientist. Punk-styled clothes and a mohawk topped with a lab coat, goggles, flask and tongs. http://elftown.eu/stuff/aj/57/2011062801_XRP_Kaider_l.png (without the lab coat: http://elftown.eu/stuff/aj/57/2011062801_XRP_Kaider.png)

Korvka - saucy pirate. Brown leather tricorn with red feathered plume, lowcut white long-sleeved button up, red-and-white tattered capris, brown leather boots that fold over on the top. Gold hoops in her ears and her hair is tamed into corkscrews that stack on top of each other.

Kyle - Ghost: http://elftown.eu/stuff/kylecoc002.jpg

Laurel - Dorothy Gale goes punk. Laurel donned a blue gingham dress with a white t-shirt underneath. The dress goes down to just below her knee, leaving her sparkly red Converse Hi-Tops in plain view. A blue choker dangles around her neck, the ivory pendant hanging on it shows a Wizard of Oz scene. Her colorful hair is braided and tied with a blue bow.

Light - She is dressed as the bride of Frankenstein, in her own sexy way, wearing a white wedding dress (http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad198/Miss_Figgy/weddingdress.jpg?t=1305745201) with an elegant pair of white heels to match (http://72.167.41.109/images/amiclubwear/shoes-heels-helen-3white_3.jpg). Her hair has been dyed black, with a white streak on either side, and her body is decorated in scars circling her joints and running along the sides of her arms and legs, with a scar outlining her face and another, her jaw. Light is wearing simple black eyeliner and mascara and blood red lip gloss.

Lucas - Not really anything, just a ruffled shirt, black shoes, black trousers. (http://ny-image2.etsy.com/il_570xN.162500918.jpg)

Lynn - Full on kitten costume, dressed from head to toe in black fur with paws, cat ears, a tail and adorable face-paint whiskers.

Mihir - Itachi from Naruto, http://www.naruto-pictures.us/uploads/images/Itachi_Posing_Picture.jpg

Nathan - Death The Kid from Soul Eater (http://geeroro.exteen.com/images/__SoulEater_Death_the_Kid___by_rannsama.jpg)

Ricin - Himself because really now, who dresses up in costumes? It's all rather stupid. *grumpy face*

Shade - Vampire.

Teena - a rather typical simple servant costume consisting of a long black dress and a white apron and headpiece. She also has small red devil horns. Her red sneakers peek from under the skirt, not quite fitting the rest of her costume. http://elftown.eu/stuff/aj/57/2011051202_XRP_Teena.png

Valerie - Jeannie, from I Dream of Jeannie: http://elftown.eu/stuff/valcos001.jpg

Virgil - Voodoo Doctor: http://www.fantasyworld1.co.uk/new/sites/default/files/imagecache/product_full/30403.jpg

Vlad - Frankenstein's Monster. Green hands, neck, and face, bolts on the side of his neck, black t-shirt, brown blazer jacket, black jeans and sneakers, clean shaven, a lobotomy scar glued across his forehead, another around his neck, and his black hair slicked down so that it clings to his forehead.

Light came into the hall from the complex, looking around at the huge room and all the decor. This room, too, was devoid of life, it seemed. Sighing, the girl made her way to one of the round tables, and making herself at home, she sat herself right on the table top, leaning back on her arms and waiting for someone else, specifically Shade, to join the party.

A few minutes after Light had sat down on the tabletop Shade emerged from the shadows under the table, appearing behind her as stealthily as he could, trying his best not to be detected by the girl. Fully dressed in vampire garb, with a cloak made seemingly of pure darkness wrapped around him , the boy simply stood there for a few seconds, contemplating the girl. She truly looked beautiful dressed as The Bride of Frankenstein, her now black hair falling lusciously over her shoulders and the wedding dress she was wearing clinging to her shapely body. Though normally he would have frowned seeing his girlfriend in a wedding dress, this time around he did not mind. AS quietly as possible, the boy approached Light from behind and slowly drew his lips close to her shoulder. Then, with a single motion, he tried to push the girl's hair to the side with his left hand as he let out some warm breath against her neck. "Well hello, love..." he whispered with a malicious grin. "Might I say... you look particularly delicious tonight."

In all the glory of his last minute costume, Kyle edged into the party hall, but stopped short-- if anyone tried to enter through the door at that moment, she, he or it just might run into him. He'd never, in all of his life, been in such a setting. The flashing lights coming from the direction of the dance floor were distracting, and the bass from the music made him uneasy. With all of the decorations, activities and food set before him, his head jerked from area to area as he decided upon his next move. He was grateful that there were only two other souls present, and at least one of them appeared to be occupied with the other. In a rather halting, ungraceful and unghostlike gait, Kyle naturally opted for the food option and headed to the long table with its bountiful spread.

Just after Kyle decided to leave the door, it opened and Mihir stepped in. He slid along the wall to sit in a chair at one of the tables. He took a spot where he could watch the door. Parties like this one weren't really his thing, but if some of his friends were here, it might be worth it.

Clad in her white, ruffly wedding dress, Light had her legs crossed, her feet dangling off the side of the table while she glanced around the huge room, squinting at the sight of the strobe lights and nearly cringing from the loud music. While she waited, she picked up one of the fake autumn leaves from the table, taking a corner of it between her two thumbs and forefingers and pulling in opposite directions, tearing the flimsy fabric in two. Busy with her leaf-shredding, the young woman did not notice the cloaked vampire rising from the shadows behind her, though as he drew closer, she could sense someone behind her, and just as he pushed her hair to the side, Light started to turn to look, but was stopped short by his warm breath on her neck. "Mm, for a body composed of rotting corpse parts to look delicious, you must be a scary monster indeed," the girl replied, closing her eyes and letting her head tilt back slightly. She turned her head so that she could see Shade in all his vampiric glory, smirking at the sight of his slicked back hair and the pitch black cape that hung around his shoulders. Raising a hand, she ran her fingers lightly along the boy's cheek, questioning quietly, and jokingly, "So are you my husband-to-be, or am I waiting for another monster to sweep me off my feet?" Spotting Kyle and Mihir entering the room, she merely greeted them with a roll of her eyes, turning her attention back to Shade, too pleased to have him back with her to care about much else.

"I am." replied simply Shade when Light asked if he was a scary monster, grinning and baring his fake vampire fangs at the girl for a split second. "The scariest monster of them all." he whispered, as he shifted his eyes away from Light's emerald gaze for a moment to look at Mihir and Kyle walk in, as a sort of silent acknowledgement of their presence. "Never been the marrying type, love." he then replied, almost absent-mindedly as he almost touched the supple skin of Light's neck with his lips. "But..." whispered the boy carefully, moving his lips a bit up so his breath hit the girl's earlobe. "I can sure sweep you off your feet." he finally grinned, putting his right hand on Light's stomach and pulling her towards him a bit, letting her right shoulder-blade rest against his chest. "In fact if no one was here I'd sweep you off your feet right now, right here on this table." he grinned again. Then, as if pretending to be a movie vampire, he lifted his left arm and put it over Light's shoulder, dragging with it the black shadowy cape. Then, obscured from view by his cape, he let out a small hiss and began to kiss and nibble the side and the base of Light's neck, almost trying to make her giggle, loudly, so Kyle and Mihir noticed and knew who she belonged to.

Upon entering, Korvka immediately noticed Light and Shade, for how could she not? Even when the pair weren't dressed like monsters they were annoyingly impossible to miss. Except, of course, when they hid behind closed doors. She did, however, take the time to notice Light's costume, giving a slight grin at how well executed it looked. Dressed as a swashbuckling pirate, Korvka rather looked the part with her tattered red-and-white striped capris, folded brown boots, belt, and, most impressively, the weathered tricorn complete with a red feathered plume. Competing for the most noticeable difference were her breasts, which the long-sleeved white button up allowed a peak of, and her hair, which had been assembled into sleek corkscrews. Standing with her hip cocked to counter the weight of her black gym bag, she saw Mihir sitting with a bored expression at one of the tables, decidedly away from the teenaged canoodling. She glanced to both the couple and Mihir before saying, "hey" to the latter and walking further into the room, flashing Mihir a small grin. On her way to the back where she intended to unload the organic contents of her sack, she noticed a walking, dirty bedsheet and careened a few paces away with a disgusted look on her face, one she maintained as the song changed to something even more noisome than the tripe she'd entered to.

Mihir tried to ignore the couple who were already canoodling. He couldn't help but think they should have just had a private party in their own rooms instead of putting on their public display. It wasn't like anyone in the mansion didn't already know they were fully attached at the hip. Or groin, if that was more appropriate. He finally smiled when Korvka entered. And his eyes went to her chest, he couldn't help it, and he paused to compose himself before waving back and standing. She was carrying an awfully large bag. Avoiding the walking bed linen, he went to where Korvka was headed, a small smile on his face, and a hopeful thought in his mind. Maybe he could finally confess to her tonight. And if he got shot down, there was always option two.

Light couldn't help but grin just a little at Shade, admiring his newly fanged teeth as he smiled, putting them on display for her to see. "You're a rather handsome monster, if you ask me," the girl said quietly, letting her eyes roam over Shade's costume, or as much as she could see of it from her place on the table. Raising her eyebrows at Shade's denial of her question about marriage, Light let out a little, "oh?" before letting her eyes close, her smirk returning as the boy added his 'but'. His breath blowing against her ear sent a small chill up her spine just before he pulled her backwards against him, letting her lean back against him and relax. "I'd love to see that," Light said, grinning again as she let her head rest on the boy's shoulder. Feeling him move behind her, she opened her eyes just in time to see a layer of black cover her shoulder and neck, hiding Shade's face behind it as he hissed. A small laugh came from Light at Shade's act, turning into a short giggle, just as Shade had wanted, as her lover pecked and nibbled at the skin of her neck. "You're not that scary," she said between laughs, reaching up with her hand again and lightly running her fingers over the back of Shade's neck. "Not to me... Seems like you could use some affection though," she added, rather suggestively, before sitting up, pulling herself from Shade's grasp, and turning on the table to face him, scooting to the edge to sit right in front of him. Putting her arms over his shoulder, she clasped her hands behind his neck and looked up at him, letting her head tilt to the side slightly, revealing her 'scars. "I'll see what I can do about that later," she finally concluded, totally missing Korvka coming into the room and choosing to ignore the other negative reactions to her innocent flirting with Shade.

Squinting in the flashing strobes and thumping bass, Korvka didn't notice Mihir following her until she had reached the end of the food table, figuring she could toss a few gourds and brightly colored corn in-between the dishes. When she finally noticed him she jumped a little, obviously startled at how near he was compared to where she thought he had been - many feet away seated at a table. "Happy Holloveen," she said, looking over her shoulder as she dropped to one knee and unzipped her bag to reveal the assortment of autumnal decorations. "Vont to help me?" she asked, scooting a little on her knees as she revealed to him the contents of her bag. "Just a bit off festive shit," she explained, letting him gaze at the fine spread. "I thought ve could place them around the food," she instructed, gathering an armload of gourds, miniature pumpkins, and Indian corn with the clear intention of giving them to Mihir to place as he pleased.

Starting at the far end of the candy, snacks and refreshment buffet, Kyle worked his way down the length of the table, one of his yellow, freckled hands darting out from under the bed sheet to ferret away more food than the average person could hold. He was, of course, stuffing items that wouldn't make too much mess into the deep pockets of his shorts, having lined them with napkins, otherwise he was piling the goodies onto the plate he held in his other hand. There was a glaring lack of decorum in both the amount of food he took and manner in which he hid it away, but he really didn't give a hoot about that. Whenever he tried to turn his head in any direction to look at something-- Light and Shade's shared affections, Korvka and then Mihir as they trekked by-- his head turned but the sheet didn't follow suit, so he really couldn't see what was going on, except for right in front of him. He finally sidled to the other end of the table, where the beverages were located, plucked a cup from the stack and filled it with the red punch. While he dribbled it on the clean tablecloth, he somehow managed not to get any on his costume as he slipped the cup under the sheet to take a sip.

Mihir took the gourds and corn in his arms with a smile. "It all looks festive," he said, placing them around the food in what he saw as a pleasing display. Mihir had, of course, looked into the bag as she opened it, and had caught sight of something interesting as the gourds were shifted. Shaking his head and hiding his mirth, he continued arranging the decorations. "Planning some fun later?" he asked Korvka innocently.

As Mihir took the armful of decorations from her and started to arrange them, Korvka took a moment to behold the seemingly starving bedsheet. Having never seen any old Halloween movies she did not understand that Kyle, and she was now sure it was Kyle as she watched the telltale food hoarding and darting yellow hand, was supposed to be a ghost. He shuffled to the far end of the table, away from where Mihir was artfully arranging things and Korvka just raised both eyebrows and shook her head in disbelief. Some people were damned strange. She grabbed the rest of the decorations and toed the top flap over the balloons to hide them from view from anyone who might wander by. Alas, it seemed as if Mihir had noticed her arsenal, and she gave him a small look before shrugging her shoulder, wearing the smallest of grins. "You know it. A bit off mischief vill liven this place right up," she said confidently, looking around to the large hall with the very few people inside. She put the rest of the items on the table and then stood in front of her bag with a hand on her hip. "And the finishing touch..." she said, holding other hand out towards the black bag as a tendril shot from her palm that quickly turned into a large vine that skated a few feet away to form a circle around the bag, in a clear space to the end of the table and well away from the dance floor. Several large pumpkins started to form, probably ten in all, complete with the enormous leaves that well hid her black bag full of mischief in the midst of a miniature pumpkin patch.

Lynn, appearing from the hall complex, did a small jump as she saw all the cool decorations and tasty looking foods, her little face lit up and she instantly went towards one of the tables which had the chocolate candy bowl. Getting on her tip-toes, she lifted her kitten-paw and dove straight in, grabbing a few sweets.
"No more than three, you'll rot your teeth." Ricin detested sweet things and wasn't going to be held responsibility if Lynn got hyper and started causing chaos. Spotting the tables and chairs he mad a small u-turn and sat down, letting out an exhausted sigh.

Shade grinned as his girl called him handsome, interrupting his kisses to whisper a small "Why, thank you, love." feeling the girl's hand creep up to the back of his neck, however, he stopped and simply kept his lips pushed against her skin, enjoying her scent and trying not to smudge her makeup. When she said he was not that scary, however, he grinned and replied "I can be quite scary..." in a whisper as he opened his mouth and pushed the tips of his fanged teeth against the girl's neck. However, he pulled back when she promised some affection, loosening his grip on the girl as she pulled away. When Light turned to him he placed his arms around her, resting his hands on the small of her back. For a split second, Shade's eyes moved away from Light, following Korvka and then Ricin and Lynn as they walked in. "I'd love that. We can have our own private party later." he smiled. "We might have to keep it PG 13 right now." he added with disappointment on his face before he leaned in and gave Light's neck one last kiss, right over her 'scars' and then pointed at Lynn with his eyes. "I'm thinking I could go and get us something sweet, tho..." added the boy, then, he lifted his arm and cloak and stuck a finger through it with his other hand, showing that the whole cloak could be used as a shadowportal. "I got some stuff to liven up the party, too."

"My pleasure," Light replied quietly when Shade thanked her, closing her eyes for a moment and basking in the comfort of Shade's arms around her and the warmth of his lips against her neck. Feeling the sharp edges of his fangs pressing against her neck just seconds after, the girl grinned before she turned around to face the boy. She let her gaze focus on his silver eyes, allowing her to notice his eyes moving swiftly to look at something behind her, at which point she turned her head slightly to see one of the professors and his daughter coming in, and Korvka some feet across the room which Mihir tailing behind her like some sort of lost child. Hearing Shade speaking again, she turned back to face him, a smile playing on her own face as well as she answered, "Oh, I'd love that. Considering our earlier party was sort of..." Between words, Light's gaze flickered over to Korvka, almost menacingly as she concluded with, "interrupted." She looked back to Shade as he added the PG 13 comment, and smiled once more. "Fine, I won't touch," she said, feigning distress at not being able to be intimate with Shade just yet, then with a tiny, seductive grin, she added, "But I can't guarantee I'll keep my mouth shut." Feeling yet another kiss on her neck, Light closed her eyes, opening them when Shade pulled away and raising her eyebrows as she watched him put his finger into the portal that his shadow cloak created. "Oh," she began, her face lighting up as Shade's words piqued her interest, "Guess this party won't be as boring as I thought."

Mihir placed the last of the corn on the table and walked back over to where Korvka was creating the pumpkin patch. "Just please do not hit me with whatever you have," he whispered to her. Walking around to the table once more, he looked around with a nod. "Looks nice in here. Very festive."

"I know... Its been about a month since we've really.. uhm.. 'partied'" confirmed the boy with a mischievous grin as Light brought up the prior interrupted, for a moment Shade's eyes shifted towards Korvka as well. His gaze as cold as ice on the bear-like girl's back held there for a split second before returning to Light's emerald eyes and immediately softened. "And you know you'll be able to touch to your heart's content later, Light." he continued, dismissing some of the girl's concerns with a shrug and a malicious smile. "As long as you promise I get to do the same, of course." he said as he caressed her lower back with his hands, feeling the delicate patterns embroidered onto her dress and resisting the urge to let his hands wander down to her butt, since they were plainly in Lynn's sight. "I promise it won't be." the boy immediately replied, almost repeating what Light said. "I plan to make it pretty interesting." he added as he walked forward, his thighs touching the edge of the table and his chest almost pressed against the girl's. "I also know some good ways to shut you up." he grinned as he moved his hands back onto Light's lower back and slowly slid them up to her waist, pulling her towards him and giving her a soft, yet loving kiss. Closing his eyes, the boy let the kiss linger for a few seconds, not really caring how much some people of the mansion might gasp and roll their eyes at the view of a man kissing his girlfriend in public. After all, both him and Light had been involved and interested in only one person since they arrived, which was more than he could say for nearly half of the other people in the party hall. After a few seconds, the boy pulled away slowly, tugging gently on Light's lower lips. "So... can I get you something sweet from the table?" he asked, trying to be as attentive as possible, though he still had a hard time waiting until later, when they were alone.

"Hey, remember what I said," Light began when she noticed Shade glaring at Korvka as well, shooting Shade a grin when he turned his gaze back to her, "All night tonight, if you want." Hearing Shade promise her as much touching as she wanted, Light's grin grew wider and she shifted her hands behind the boy's neck, running the fingertips of her right hand very lightly against his skin and slightly up into his slicked back hair, caressing the base of his skull. "Of course," the girl agreed, then, feeling a spark of boldness, she added with a smirk, "In fact, we'll do whatever you like." She soaked up the feeling of Shade's arms around her, caressing her back, unable to tear her eyes away from Shade's gaze for the moment. "Oh, you do?" Light answered to his suggested plan for the party, giving him a jokingly skeptical look, her hands halting their movements as he stepped forward towards the table. Then, hearing the boy speaking of shutting her up, Light lifted an eyebrow and pulled her lips to one side in an almost annoyed expression, again faking disbelief as she replied, "I'd like to see you try." However, feeling Shade's hands on her back again, and her body being pulled towards him, she couldn't help but close her eyes and melt obediently into the kiss, his lips effectively silencing her. She had no qualms about being flirtatious, or even a bit kissy and touchy, in front of others, despite any of their reactions, and she wrapped her arms tighter around Shade's neck, lingering in the kiss for as long as Shade would let her. Finally, when he did break the kiss, Light reluctantly pulled away as well, keeping her eyes closed until he spoke to her. "Sounds like a good idea," she said, loosening her grip around his neck and letting her hands rest lightly on his shoulders, "You keep teasing me with all this talk and kissing, and I might jump on you right here, in front of these minors."

There was a little yelp and then the sound of a bowl hitting the floor as Lynn accidentally knocked the bowl of sweets off the table. She stood still and looked down at them like they were some alien object, eyes big and a shocked grin on her face that just screamed 'I didn't do anything bad'. Bending down, the young girl began to pick them all back up and place them once again in the bowl, blowing on any unwrapped sweets so as to rid them of any fluff they might have accumulated. Ricin watched her clean up with a dazed stare, half asleep right now and not willing to move for anything that wasn't life threatening of possibly extremely embarrassing.

Kyle made very short order of his punch, and left the empty, used cup on the table by the bowl, then stepped back and away from the spread. Entirely unaccustomed to these situations, he was at a loss as to what he should do next. Vlad wasn't even here yet, and that jerk at least had a hand in convincing Kyle that he should attend the party. He warily regarded the festive pumpkin and greenery display as it started to wend its way along at one end of the buffet, and, since he was already looking in that direction, he watched Lynn's party foul unfold in its entirety. He barked an unabashed and mocking laugh at the young girl, and, with his bare foot, kicked an errant piece of round candy back at her as it rolled in his direction.

Satisfied with her 'decorations,' Korvka folded her arms over her chest and took a look around the place since she had come in with a mission in mind and ignored most of her surroundings. "I'll try," she said casually to Mihir. Having missed the glacial glare from Shade, she looked to the couple just in time to witness them kissing passionately, to which she rolled her eyes. Looks like the soap opera was over, but, for Light's sake, she was marginally glad that Shade hadn't turned out to be a schemer. Yet. The high pitched yelp from Lynn caused the Russian's head to snap to the side, watching as the bowl of treats fell to the ground while the girl tried to play cute before cleaning up her mess. Just then, Kyle's mockery caught Korvka's attention, as did the kick he aimed at the piece of candy. His sour attitude seemed to match her own and she was, momentarily, amused by what could be considered shameful behavior. Having never spoken much to the irritable and, truthfully, disgusting boy, Korvka, who didn't much feel like talking to anyone else there, sighed and sauntered over to the bedsheet. Looking into the burnholes, she looked him up and down once, unimpressed. With her arms still folded over her chest, perhaps to subconsciously hide her breasts from view, the Russian asked, "so vot the hell are you supposed to be?"

Teena entered the room and was a little surprised to see so many people in so early. She took in the view and looked keenly at all the details. However, the food was what caught her attention the most. "Happy Halloween to everyone!" she said and then made her way to the long table of food and started picking out snacks. She carefully took almost every kind of food on her plate.

"See? I managed to shut you up for a bit." grinned Shade as he pulled away from the kiss and looked straight at Light. "That is a tantalizing prospect." he then added, grinning a bit wider. "I ought to get us something to drink, then, I'll be back in five." he said as he gave her another small kiss and made his way towards the tables with the punch and candy. As the boy walked, his shadowy cloak would dissipate and shred around him whenever it was hit by a bright light, only to immediately reform when he moved on. The boy passed Korvka on the way to the tables, who seemed to be accompanied by a ghost and a weaboo condom, and gave her a cordial, yet sly nod and smile. Shade ignored Teena and Lynn breaking the plate, standing in front of the plate and turning to Korvka. "You seem to be awfully prudish for someone who's had more guys on her bed than the YMCA." said the boy absent-mindedly as he poured two cups of punch, one for Light and one for himself. He was obviously referencing Korvka's gesticulative disapproval of him and Light daring to kiss in public, then, with a grin and a wink, he added; "By the way, your boob is hanging out." just before taking a sip of his punch.

Laurel skipped into the hall. She didn't look around very much before her gaze zeroed in on Teena and she skipped over. She just stood next to her, not feeling very hungry. "Do you think there's something going on between Lucas and Addy?" she questioned, hoping she wasn't the only one who thought they where maybe more than friends.

Nathan entered the hall and, seeing Laurel and Teena, he stepped over to them, not knowing anyone else a the party, "Hey, you two don't mind if I stick around here with you for a bit, do you? Bit too new to wander off on my own," he said with a laughing manner.

Donning her vividly pink I Dream of Jeannie costume, Valerie stepped through the door since Vlad was politely holding it open, and stopped several paces into the festively decorated, pulsating room so she wouldn't be in the way of anybody who entered behind her. Smiling radiantly, she took a sweeping glance of the room, simply itching to do, well, everything all at once. Of course, that wasn't plausible, so she decided to head to where the greatest gathering of students were: The refreshment table. She made her way over, offered Korvka and, incidentally, Shade and Kyle since they were in her proximity, a wave and heya and, though it might not have heard it over the music, smiled affectionately at Lynn as she passed by, though she had missed the candy-spilling incident, then sidled into the area of Laurel, Teena and Nathan. First things first, she wanted to meet the new students. She was also more than a little curious about Teena's costume. 'Hi guys!'

Addy crutched her way in, pausing as she entered the room. She looked around and spotted the chairs. Going over to the tables, she sat down heavily, keeping her eyes off of the display of Shade and Light.

Endelyn walked in after and looked around. "Wow! This is stunning." she said as she walked into the room. She had never seen Halloween decorations, except for the pumpkins, so this was all new to her. She looked around at all of the different costumes, then started to feel a little self concious. This was her first time being in a large group gathering such as this, and she was starting to get a little nervous.

Lucas walked into the room behind Addy, observing the various decorations strewn all over the interior. "Not a bad first impression at all." Lucas half smiled, looking around at the many people gathered in the hall. He was jealous of the large amount of costumed people, himself wearing only a ruffled shirt, black trousers and shoes. Feeling nervous, he took a step forward and wondered where he should head first.

Teena smiled to Laurel, Nathan and Valerie as they came over. She raised an eyebrow at Laurel's comment about Addy and Lucas. "No, why?" she asked. Teena hadn't noticed anything odd about them, but then she had only seen them very briefly. "Oh, not at all," she replied to Nathan. "Hi! What are you dressed as?" she asked curiously from Valerie.

"Okay, okay, you got me," Light admitted, backing down from her previous challenge toward Shade, though she knew the whole time he would probably use a kiss to shut her up successfully. "Only a bit, though," she added with a smile, not wanting to lose to him completely. She smirked at his final comment before he suggested going to retrieve some refreshments, and closing her eyes just briefly to take the small peck on the lips, she dropped her hands from his shoulders, opening her eyes again to watch him walk off to the tables covered in food. As soon as she caught sight of him speaking to Korvka, she knew he was, without a doubt, out to bug the girl, and she rolled her eyes and turned away with a grin. With Shade out of her line of sight, Light was able to see all the other students walking in, several of them she'd never seen before. She even spotted Addy, who seemed to disregard her existence and plop down at a table facing away from her, getting an arch of Light's eyebrow in response.

Entering with an appreciative look around, Franken-Vlad realized he had nothing to worry about as far as having a good time was concerned. The teachers had thought of everything. The lights caught his attention, flickering in rapid succession from the dance floor, an area he fully intended to scope out later. As tall and broad as he was, Vlad made rather the perfect Frankenstein. His costume was indeed impressive, with all visible skin rendered green under the black t-shirt and brown blazer coat. Cutting across his forehead, as if the doctor had sewn him up moments before, was a thick and hideous stitch that stretched across the expanse of his brow. Another line of stitches went around his neck, by where the bolts were glued. His hair too had been plastered down with the help of some goop. He looked around, spying the clusters of people, his eyes lingering on Mihir, who seemed to be around Korvka more and more these days. He caught sight of the bedsheet next to his sister and gave a wave in his direction before allowing his gaze to finish sweeping the room, at last to land on his 'bride.' Chuckling to himself, Vlad walked over to Light, who seemed offput by something at the next table over, where Addy was seemingly pouting. "Honey, I'm home," Vlad grunted, putting on a fine impression of the legendary monster by schlumping and holding his arms out before him. He didn't often approach Light, having a general low opinion of the girl, but he couldn't resist the fun of impromptu costume completion.

When an answer was not forthcoming from underneath the bedsheet, Korvka eyed Kyle up and down expectantly, hand on her hip, demanding with posture alone that he answer her. However, her attention was then stolen by Val and the Barbie pink of her costume, which Korvka didn't quite understand but gave a nod to regardless, her plume swaying. She watched her friend insinuate herself into the gaggle of new kids and laughed as if she should have known, shaking her head in bemusement at Val's choice of company. The Russian grump and the ballerina were quite the odd couple but it worked somehow. Her brown eyes slid over as she noticed someone approaching, her lip twitching into a curl upon recognizing it as Shade and the flickering regeneration of his shadow cape. To his initial nod she gave him an obviously fake smile, her head tilted to the side. "Oh Shade," she began after he was through with his opening insults. "You're so funny ven you're bitter," she replied smugly, raising her brows once in a clear reminder of how she had stolen his good time from him earlier. A territorial type like Shade probably didn't like her stealing his girl from him either. Her eyes cut to the door as the stream of people came inside, caboosed by Vlad, who ignored her entirely to approach Light to make some dopey joke about their costumes. Inhaling shortly, she looked back to Shade just in time to hear his last barb. She put on a smile that was too sweet to convey anything but repressed disdain and finished "but make no mistake, its not the constant groping that disgusts me, though that does get old." She turned just enough to pour herself a glass of punch, her movements calm and meticulous. Once her cup was full, she turned back to Shade and offered him another mocking smile. "Its you, Dracula. You know that."

For a second, Shade was distracted by the long stream of people walking into the hall, which was finally beginning to look like a party. Though he tried to discern what each of them were, it was hard to tell. There was a brown haired kid he had not seen before who had come as 'flaming gayness', Teena seemed to be dressed as Consuela from Family Guy sporting a pair of horns and Laurel appeared to be a walking epileptic attack. Addy's costume would've been flattering on her had she not looked like a plane crash victim and Val & Vlad were wearing rapidly identifiable costumes. They fit the two, to boot, which was something the silver eyed boy was not about to admit. As Korvka spoke, the boy gave her what seemed to be a sincere, large grin, baring his newly acquired vampire fangs, "Please, I'm always funny." he quipped back, taking a sip of his own punch and taking a quick glance at Vlad as he headed over to Light. The boy's gaze was soon returned to Korvka as she stammered to a reply, however, once she was done speaking, he simply stood there for a bit, waiting for the clever punchline or biting remark, but it seemed as if it was not to be. "I disgust you? why.. you must have burned through quite a few neurons with that one." he chuckled. "And well, it getting old depends on who is doing the groping, my dear, no worries though, you'll find someone capable someday, just keep with the trial and error. Someone ought to be brave enough to stick his hand where no man or razor has gone before." he added with a wink. Though Korvka might've taken his words for pure hostility, reacting in a rather simplistic, straightforward manner, Shade actually enjoyed these little exchanges, as she did more to try to keep up with him than many of the mansion's denizens. The boy figured he'd see if the curly haired woman had anything else to say while he got some candy for him and Light, he'd only been gone for a few seconds, after all, and he was rather interested in how his girl would react to Vlad's jokes, so he simply waited there, trying to decide what kind of candy to take while he turned briefly in their direction every few seconds.

As Korvka's attention diverted elsewhere, Mihir turned away. He looked to the ceiling, begging patience. It didn't help at all that he had made few real friends here. He decided he really needed to be nicer to the general population at the mansion. But nice wasn't really in his playbook all the time. He had to admit even to himself that he had a controlling sort of personality and surrounded as he was by so much chaos, well, it would put anybody in a poor mood. Not to mention that he also had spent copious amounts of time with Korvka working on music, and he still needed to talk to her about that. Tell her the truth. Maybe he should ask Vlad for some advice. After all, he was her brother. But Vlad was currently talking to someone else. This was too complicated. He walked over to stand near the edge of the group of tables, waiting for Vlad. Mihir really needed to speak to the big Russian.

With a big swoosh from the door bursting open, Justin tumbled forward after tripping from his warp entry. His face was adorned with fake blood and actual horror as he rolled dead ahead, shoulders over heels due to his momentum, towards one of the ones who had stopped to take in the sights of the festivities, Endelyn.

When Korvka sauntered over in his direction and deigned to speak to him, Kyle lazily shifted his attention from Lynn to his roommate's sister and blinked at her from the depth of his costume's eyeholes. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, the boy had just shoved a handful of Mary Jane chews into his mouth, effectively gluing his jaws together and rendering him unable to properly reply. Due to the coverage of his costume, what could be gleaned from his muffled attempt at a response was that his mouth was full of something. Kyle's mouth remained full and more or less locked shut as he tried to work the candy into a manageable pulp when Shade approached, and the boy turned his sheet-draped body to survey the young man, with whom he was unacquainted. It was almost painful to laugh with his mouth candied in place, but totally worth it, when the shadowy mutant took not one but a couple cracks at the Russian girl.

With her attention focused on Addy for the moment, Light did not notice Vlad approaching her, and hearing him speak, she turned her head to face him, mild surprise on her face. The sweet comment caught her off guard, confused as to why Vlad, her friend's brother who seemed to hate her guts, was suddenly being so flirtatious. It took her a second to see in the dark, but after catching a few glimpses of his face with the dance floor lights flashing on him, Light finally realized that Vlad, dressed as Frankenstein's monster, was just playing his part as her husband-to-be. Finally, after what seemed to her like minutes of stunned silence, Light let a smirk show through as she turned her body on top of the table to face the giant Russian, holding her arms out for a friendly hug, merely to play the part, one that she wasn't sure would be returned. "Oh, darling, what kept you? I've been so lonely!" she replied melodramatically, putting on an expression of distress. "Another man already tried to steal me away!" she added, sending a glance towards Shade, hoping the boy was watching. She knew that in the end, the bride had actually rejected her groom, but what fun would there be in screaming and running away, especially when part of her wanted to get back at Shade for catching him with Camille in his room earlier that day. Her flirtatious attitude towards Vlad meant nothing to her, of course, and she was only doing it in good fun. Turning to face Vlad again, she spotted Mihir standing a few feet away, his gaze fixed on both her and Vlad, making her raise her eyebrows as if to inquire what he wanted.

Endelyn looked down at Justin and knelt down, trying to help him up. "Hey, are you alright?" she asked, then thought the blood was real. "Oh..! Are you alright?!" she repeated, more frantically.

Stepping into the room with a rather sour expression on her face, Flame stopped by the doorway at how the collection of students had arranged themselves. She wanted to get over to Korvka and use the girl as a form of anchor from keeping her from doing something stupid out of anger, but seeing who she was around Flame instantly decided against that. With an angry sigh she pulled another smoke free from the packet, placing it between her lips and lighting it. This was going to be a long night.

At about the same time as Shade, Korvka's eyes glued to the new kid in his strange period type of dress with ruffly shirt and black leggings, looking, in her estimation, rather like the runaway cover of a poorly written romance novel. She had a laugh at his expense and otherwise ignored Kyle, though she wanted nothing more than to slap the sticky right out of him. As opposed to how she might have reacted weeks ago to Shade's incessant poking and teasing, Korvka was learning how to let things roll off her back, accepting that the silver-eyed boy was never going to be her favorite but putting up with him nevertheless. If anything, he was intolerable when given a bone to chew on. As he again referenced her dealings with men, an issue he couldn't have much information on without help, Korvka's eyes lazily flitted to Light, wondering if perhaps her friend had leaked to her boyfriend about the question she'd asked earlier. Holding her cup of punch in a bent arm, the Russian slid her eyes back to Shade and smiled the way a person might at a serial killer no one else suspects. "Ahhh, how charming. In less than two minutes you haff successfully addressed my boobs, bed, and bush. You must be tired from outdoing yourself," she replied with a roll of her eyes, as if she were dealing with a perpetually misbehaved child, though the faintest quirk of a smirk was present at the corner of her mouth. Her attention fell to Light as she threw open her arms to accept Vlad's embrace and she let out a slow, deviously delighted chuckle at the scene she was rapidly finding mirth in. "Don't vorry, Count," she said, leaning her head towards Shade as their conversation continued. "I'm sure Camille vill show up in no time," she said casually, though her eyes smoldered at the very mention of the name.

Vlad maintained the impression throughout the duration of Light's analysis, his arms straight ahead, posture stiff, with dead looking eyes. He wasn't sure that she would reciprocate the joke since, for all intents and purposes, the two didn't care for each other or get along in the least. But this was a party, and he didn't need his lube anymore anyway. His monstrous expression broke for a moment into a small grin as she played along famously, throwing her arms wide to fit his bulk. Slipping instantly back into character, Franken-Vlad took a heavy step forward, the floor rumbling, and wrapped his arms around his bride. She was small, almost like a taller and more womanly version of Daniela but still much, much more delicate looking than the girls he was used to being around, so he tempered his hug. As his arms came about they mostly hovered over her skin to make sure he didn't mess up her costume or squish her. "Fronkenstein been out," he explained in his deep, monster voice that sounded appropriately like a Russian Boris Karloff. "Man?!" he asked, his eyes going wide in mock anger as Light explained how someone else had already tried to steal her away. "No von take you from me!" he grunted in slow determination, reaching out to take her tiny hand in his massive green one and look at her deeply. When his lovely 'bride' noticed something out of his line of sight, Vlad turned just in time to see Mihir there and smiled at him a bit after a moment of just staring. Vlad's opinion of Mihir was undecided - the kid seemed all right but there was something about the way he clung to Korvka that didn't sit right with the elder brother. Again with the Natives, he couldn't beat them off her fast enough. "Hey Mihir. Need something?" he asked, letting go of Light's hand.

Laurel tilted her head at Teena, "Really? Well then I'm sure I'm going crazy. Or should I say crazier?" she laughed, not bothering to try and hide it, she knew she wasn't the most normal person out there. "Sure, I don't mind!" she said to Nathan turning when Val came up to. "OhMiGosh, that so cute! Are you Jeannie?" She had watched that show when she was younger every Saturday night.

"Just wanted a word," Mihir responded to both Light's inquisitive look and Vlad's question. "With FrankenVlad," he added, a smile twisting half of his face. Mihir hated having to do this at all, especially at a party. What would Vlad say? How would he react? It was all so confusing, even to Mihir, who already knew what was going on. If only he could just say it to Korvka. But she might react violently and they would find one or the other injured, which would lead to more injuries on Mihir's part. He vaguely wondered if Vlad could be burned. That would be an interesting test. He seemed to be more or less flesh. Shaking himself out of that train of thought, he focused on Light. "But you two can finish your...awkward romantic encounter first, I am patient."

Looking decidedly glum, Addy leaned down against the table, her arms crossed on the table, her chin resting on them. She liked the dressing up and the party idea, but she wouldn't be able to dance, to stand and retrieve her own food, or to mingle unless people came to her. Her bad mood from earlier returned with a vengeance. The feelings of helplessness that had been building these past few weeks just intensified today because, while everyone else was excited about shopping for costumes and partying, she had had to rely upon her father to get her costume and couldn't even party properly. Some exciting person she was. Looking up at Light finally, she saw her talking to Vlad. Addy sighed and stared at the table instead.

'Yep, I'm Jeannie!' Valerie said smilingly to Laurel. 'Dorothy?' she asked, though it was really a rhetorical question, with a nod to the girl's sparkly red Converse. Then, looking to Teena, the blonde added, 'Yeah, from the television show, you know...' She hummed a couple of bars from the well-known theme song, or at least tried to, in the noisy din of the Party Hall. 'Well, actually you might not know...' she said after a moment of humming, the half-smile gracing her lips screwed over to one side. That's right. Teena was from London. 'It was from the sixties. An astronaut lands on a desert island after a mission, finds a mysterious, ancient bottle and voilà!,' she went on to explain in a very condensed manner, with a little flourish of her hands at either side of her head on the voilà!, and posed there a moment like that, with a hopeful smile, thinking maybe that might sound familiar to Teena. 'Your costume is... are you supposed to be, like... a Dirt Devil, or something?' the blonde asked, thinking that her interesting attire was somehow a play on the well-known vacuum cleaner brand.

"Maybe!" said Teena to Laurel with a chuckle. She looked questioningly at Valerie, since she indeed did not recognise the show. She did smile at her explanation, though. "You do look like a genie!" She then listened to Valerie's speculation about her costume. "Dirt Devil?" she asked curiously. "No, I'm just a good old English servant! Except with little devil horns." Holding her plate, Teena looked around a little and saw that most people seemed to be talking to others or doing something else, but Addy was sitting alone and looking depressed again. "Psst, do you think we should maybe go to Addy? She looks rather sad." She also looked at Endelyn, who seemed preoccupied with Justin's fumbling.

Kaider entered the hall. The most notable difference to eir previous look was that ey had shaved a part of eir head so that now ey had an obvious mohawk. Ey was wearing a lab coat, but under it ey had some punk-styled clothing. Ey also had protective goggles, a flask in eir hand and large tongs that poked out of eir coat's side pocket. Flame was alone pretty near to the entrance, so ey tried to sneak up on her and touch her shoulder from the right side while being on the left side emself.

"Oh, it's no strain, my dear." replied Shade, who actually seemed a bit excited that Korvka was finally fighting back with more wit than a slab of soap. "Some of us are able to think of several things at once, it must seem arcane to you I know, but.." he began to say but was suddenly interrupted by Vlad and Light's hug. Though awkward, it still caused Shade to raise an eyebrow as he leant back on the table. Though there were several other things going on and people coming in, Shade could not have cared less about them, the only one his eyes wandered to repeatedly was Light. It seemed to him the girl was trying to get back at him for her little run-in with Camille earlier. Oddly enough, by the time Korvka managed to get his attention back, she was just mentioning Camille as well. "Will she now?" grinned the boy, yes, the girl had become a bit of a touchy subject for him, though not a sore one. On the other hand, Korvka had made the rookie mistake of using a double edged weapon against someone who was far more thick-skinned than she was. "Say hi for me, then, I hear you two are best pals, after all, it was one you and two of your boys who went to rescue her, wasn't it?" he added as took a step away from the table. "Now, if you excuse me, blackbeard, my candy seems to be attracting some flies." he finally said as his black, shadow cloak wrapped itself around him and he began to walk towards Light. Before he left, though, he turned to Korvka and added, "You ARE getting better, though." in what might have passed for a genuine compliment... sort of.

As Vlad took that lumbering step forward, causing the floor to shake a bit beneath the table, Light nearly lost her balance on top of the table, but luckily the giant Russian put his arms around her, though lightly, helping her to keep her balance. Totally pleased with the return hug, she gingerly wrapped her arms around the man's neck, not wanting to get any of his green skin paint on her, or disrupt his neck-bolts. Then, hearing his feigned distress in reply to her own and having her hand held, she grinned wide in return to his deep, loving gaze, the little play on their costumes turning out to be more fun than she thought it would be. Finally, when Vlad turned his attention to Mihir, Light leaned back on the tables, propping herself up with her arms and watched the two interact, only a little curious about what the native wanted to talk to him about. Looking over, she spotted Shade moving away from the table of food, in her direction, and she turned back to Mihir with a smirk, dismissing him with a wave of her hand. "I think we're finished for now. You can have him," she said, deciding to cut off the mild flirty play while Shade was around.

Laurel nodded to Val, confirming she was Dorothy, though it wasn't hard to guess if you had seen the movie. She laughed when the genie called Teena a Dirt Devil. She could see the mistake, but it was still funny. Her gaze traveled to Addy when Teena mentioned her. "Yes, We should go over!" She nodded.

Claws up in an instance to take a swipe at whatever was poking her, Flame looked to her right then left to find the source. Her bad mood was making her too high-strung, and she scolded herself for even reacting with a need to fight. These were kids, they weren't going to hurt her... physcially. Seeing her best friend, she left out a mumble around her smoke. "You're right, this party is a waste of time," Yet, on the other hand. "But, you do look good." She finished, letting out a bit of a smile at Kaider.

Korvka's scoffing laugh tumbled forth before Shade had finished his sentence, finding the vampire's strange predictability somewhat comforting. He was assured to poke fun at her appearance, choice in men, and intelligence, the latter of which had been absent until just now. As the missing piece fell into place, she smirked, ignoring his first comment though she noted how the embrace between her brother and his girlfriend caused him to lose his train of thought. She took a sip of punch and relaxed her other arm across her chest, holding onto her elbow as her attention drifted from Shade long enough to try and deduce what exactly was happening between Light and Vlad. Though she hadn't spent any time with her brother recently, she'd always gotten the distinct impression that Vlad was disapproving of the girl, and of the time Korvka spent with her. And hadn't he just gotten his heart trampled that morning? Then, of course, Korvka realized that she only had one side of the story and wondered if perhaps Flame had been exaggerating the extent of his affections, since the behavior she described certainly seemed out of character. "Hmm?" she asked innocently, ripped from her thoughts, looking over to Shade just in time for him to throw Camille back in her face. Her cheeks darkened with flush but she made sure to whip back, "an error in judgment for vich I blame the henchemen," with a pinched smile, her eyes leading him to where Mihir was chatting with the monster and his bride. To Shade's unexpected praise, the pirate just grinned. "Oh good, I do hope von day to be as complete an asshole as you are," and then bid him adieu with a raise of her cup. Once he was gone, Korvka drained the rest of her punch and then walked to check out X-Men Game Tables, tossing her cup into a trashbin at the end of a table.

Raising her eyebrows, an enthusiastic and interested 'Ohhhh,' was all that Valerie could muster in reply to Teena's explanation of her maid's costume, sounding like she understood completely, even though she didn't. She just chalked it up to being an English thing. 'I guess those bananas didn't cheer her up for long, huh?' the blonde quietly commented with gentle concern after Teena and Laurel both spoke of Addy. 'That probably isn't a bad idea.' However, before settling at any table, herself, being the social butterfly that she was, Val wanted to go say hi to a couple of her other friends dotted around the room. As her eyes searched the festively pulsating hall for the younger, blue student, she just so happened to catch sight of Kaider when ey entered, and she offered em a wave in greeting; Korvka was also off, heading toward an uninhabited area. Val thought that maybe that new student with whom Addy had been in the complex corridor with would have seated himself with her, but he still appeared to be standing there, just in awe of the party room. Then, looking back to the small group she was standing with, and as if she had just remembered his presence, the harem-costumed girl politely extended her right hand to Nathan. 'Hi there. I'm Valerie, by the way.'

Wholly surprised that he and Light could get along at all, let alone famously, Vlad thoroughly enjoyed the fun play that he got to engage in with, seemingly, a very capable young woman. However, there was the pesky form of Mihir that just wouldn't go away, not to mention Shade, whom Vlad didn't even think about until he noticed the blackness of Light's hair. That obvious change from the lavender probably had more than one motivation. And, Vlad didn't know Shade at all but it was common knowledge around the mansion that he and Light were an item and if he'd learned anything from his tryst with Flame it was that labels meant nothing when the heart was concerned. As Light waved him off, he nodded slowly and offered a grunting, "Yes, my bride." Once he was turned away from Light, Vlad started to stroll towards the spread of food, just in time to watch Korvka and Shade break apart from each other without screamed words or slicing shadows. Keeping Mihir in his line of sight so that the two of them could walk together to the tables, Vlad approached the long dining table and grabbed a plate. "Vot is it you vont vith my sister?" he began, looking straight at Mihir as he scooped a handful of fruit onto his plate. "I haff seen you looking at her and following her around, so out vith it," he urged sternly, piling some chips and dip onto his plate, uncaring that some of the French onion schmear got onto a few sliced strawberries.

Mihir glanced at Korvka once more as she headed towards the game tables. He followed Vlad towards the table. "I was hoping to talk to you about that," he said quietly. "There is much to say, unfortunately." And he hoped that Vlad didn't punch him in the face. He might not recover from it.

Justin racked his head trying to stop the room from spinning. He tried to take stock of his surroundings before taking Endelyn's hand. He shakily stood up before he noticed he was face to face with her. "Yeah i think im ok. How come head over heels around you?" He started to laugh before he noticed the awkward second interpretation of his comment. "Oh i mean... why do you look so scared?"

Lucas looked around at the individual groups of people, he felt excluded and decided instead of confronting any of them, to walk over to the food table and grab a cut of water. He then turned to sit at one of the tables, sipping his water and looking out into the crowds of people.

As his plate became more and more laden with chips, cookies, crackers, and cheese nibbles, Vlad was growing more impatient with Mihir. Why he had to pry the information out when the strangely dressed Native sought him out first was starting to get on his nerves, especially as Mihir clued on that his suspicions about Korvka were right. "If you vont to date her, you can forget it," he said preemptively, standing up to his full height and tossing a cube of cheddar into his mouth.

Shade was already well on his way to Light's table when Korvka spat out her final quip, missing it entirely. His eyes were trained more on Mihir and Vlad and why they were hanging around Light. Vlad had been awfully cold to him and Light since the whole lube incident, which to the boy proved that the amount of people in the mansion who were not total drama queens was far smaller than what one may assume. Mihir, on the other hand, he'd seen around and knew was a huge drama queen himself, shaving his head after three people questioned him about his hair, still he had the type of caustic, anti-social personality Shade could come to appreciate. Passing both men, he acknowledged them with a slight nod on his way to Light's table. A few feet closer to his destination, the boy passed Valerie, who had one of the better costumes in the lot, surrounded by a bunch of new students. Shade automatically grinned at the girl when he passed, as if congratulating her on her costume and also as a way to slightly annoy Light. Finally, Shade got to his lover's table holding the two cups of punch. "Here you go." he said, holding out a cup for Light, feigning absolute seriousness. "It seems I interrupted you and your groom?" he added, keeping up the charade while he took a sip of the punch.

"That is just it," Mihir commented. "I have no wish to date her. At least not at the present and definitely not under these circumstances." He paused, staring at the table. How the hell was one supposed to explain that he had no interest in the woman he was currently apparently wooing? It was all quite ridiculous. "I just was not sure if she felt that way as well, or if I needed to tell her. You are her brother, I figured maybe you would know how to handle this sort of situation." It wasn't that he didn't like Korvka. But Mihir knew he was no one to be dating a girl who could not yet depend on him. Oh, this was complicated. And here he was, asking Vlad for advice on how to not date his younger sister. The painful irony of the situation struck Mihir, and he couldn't help but let out a snort of laughter. "Sorry. This is not a laughing matter, but still humorous to say the least."

Nathan turned to Valerie and smiled, "Hello! I'm Nathan. I'm new here. Like, really new, I guess," he said with a bit of a laugh as he brushed his hand through the back of his hair, "It's strange being at a party where you don't really know anyone," He added with a bit of a blush on his cheeks.

When Mihir explained that he didn't want to date his sister, despite all of the behavior that pointed to the contrary, Vlad eyed him suspiciously. He knew desperate males were capable of just about anything to try and get a little action, but to blatantly lie to his face was an insult he searched carefully for evidence of in Mihir's face. Seeing that the kid was free of guile, Vlad let out a loud blurt of laughter, his brows knitted in disbelief. "Ooookay, vell since she shows no interest despite your constant pursuit, I'd just keep doing vot you're doing," he replied snidely. He grinned at the kid, still somewhat bemused by the obtuse conversation they were having, and ate a handful of bat-shaped gumdrops.

With Vlad's parting statement, Light gave half a chuckle at the monster Russian while he turned and made his way over to Mihir. Losing interest immediately, the girl averted her gaze to the size once more, tilting her head and fixing her eyes on Shade as he made his way over. Seeing that the grin he'd had earlier as he teased Korvka had faded from his face, Light felt somehow, and wrongly, pleased with herself, knowing that she'd caused Shade some sort of mild discomfort with her reaction to Vlad. However, when she caught the small grin that Shade sent to Valerie, the tiny smirk she had been wearing as her eyes followed him suddenly dissipated, leaving her nearly scowling at the boy, annoyed and somewhat regretting her earlier meaningless flirting. As her real lover stepped over to her table, she followed him with her eyes unabashedly, her smirk returning as she reached out to take the small plastic cup filled with punch that was offered to her. Before she could thank Shade, the boy spoke again of her interaction with Vlad, and Light let out a small laugh as she set her punch aside on the table without even tasting it first. "Interrupt? I sent him off because I wanted to see you, couldn't you tell?" the girl asked with a comforting smile, noticing the boy's total seriousness about the situation. "Come now, my dearest vampire, no need to be so harsh. You know I could never put another monster before such a breathtaking creature as you," she continued, keeping up the costume charade. Uncrossing her legs, the girl leaned forward, wordlessly looking up into Shade's silver eyes. As much as she enjoyed getting back at Shade for his earlier session with Camille, Light wasn't willing to go beyond that, having no desire at all to hurt the boy, if he was even capable of emotional torment. She pushed her hand out to the side of Shade's face, stroking his cheek lightly with her fingertips, pushing the back into his hair before she suddenly leaned forward. Pulling her head towards her at the same time, she pressed her lips against his, closing her eyes and focusing on the taste of fruit punch on his lips, secretly hoping the kiss would explain to the boy that her tiny bit of in-costume-character flirting meant nothing.

"Really now?" replied Shade in characteristic fashion once Light began to try and comfort him. Though he knew there was no way a man like Vlad could take Light away from him, he still didn't like getting a taste of his own medicine, so he decided to tease the girl a bit. What's more, it seemed to have worked. As Light spoke and got closer to him, the boy slowly moved his hands to her waist, holding her almost absent-mindedly. "It feels like you're taking my lines, now." Shade replied to the girl after her reassurance, revealing the ruse as a grin broke out on his lips. The boy had began to add, "Maybe I ought to--" when he was interrupted by the young woman's kiss. For a few seconds, Shade seemed like putty in Light's hands, holding her a bit tighter and closing his eyes until she pulled away, leaving behind the sweet taste of fruit punch. Behind them, the party seemed to be in full swing. Nathan had joined the group of newbies commanded by Val. Vlad and Mihir seemed to be discussing something which the large boy found funny and the weird boy.. well.. not so much. Flame and Kaider sourpussed in a corner, Gimli was gone and Daniela & Shana were nowhere to be seen. Still, being romantic with Light was not easy with so many people around. "You know..." said Shade in a whisper holding his face really close to Light's. "I'm not saying we go dance.. but the dance floor looks temptingly empty." he added, taking her hand on his own as he began to walk away from the table, tugging on her lightly. "No reason we can't sit away from the speakers and have a private conversation without the assortment of monsters around." grinned finally Shade.

Light lingered in the kiss for what seemed like eternity, running her fingers lightly across Shade's scalp as she closed her hand around some of his hair at the base of his skull, possibly messing up a small portion of the slicked back hairdo he'd fashioned for himself. Finally, after several seconds of soaking in the taste of the sugary drink on the boy's lips, Light pulled her lips away rather reluctantly, still keeping her lips incredibly close to his for a second and her eyes closed, her nose resting on one side of his and their foreheads nearly touching. Finally, the girl pulled her face away and let her hand drop to her man's shoulder, her thumb lightly caressing the side of his neck repeatedly as she smiled up at him. "Guess you've rubbed off on me," she said quietly in response to his earlier statement about her stealing his lines. She was totally oblivious to everything that was going on at the party now, too focused on Shade as her thought of her earlier interaction with Vlad disappeared. Hearing him begin to speak, the girl perked up, looking straight into his eyes as he suggested moving to the dance floor. "I'm in," she agreed with a grin as he took her hand and began leading her away from the table. "But are you really going to make a lady walk?" she questioned with a smirk, wondering if she could somehow manage to have Shade carry her, partly to make a scene and let the others know that she was, indeed, Shade's, and partly because she wanted the affection. "They do call it 'bridal style' for a reason, you know."

"I'm guessing that you asking means I won't." replied Shade almost as soon as Light asked him if he was going to make her walk. What the girl wanted was quite obvious, and Shade was only too happy to oblige. "As you command, then, my black widow." replied the boy in quite a dramatic manner as he handed his cup of punch over to her, with a swift motion, he placed one of his arms around her back, holding onto the girl's far shoulder with his hand. Grinning mischievously, the boy looked at her and then give the girl a tiny peck, uncaring of whether they were doing this pretty much smack in the middle of the table area, where everyone could see. Being careful not to make the girl spill punch over her dress, Shade leaned down a bit and slid his other hand under Light's knees, lifting her up as his black cloak wrapped around the both of them. Glimpses of Light's white dress could be seen as the cloak flapped while Shade walked to the X-Men Dance Floor, as if imitating a scene from a movie in front of all the other students.

Kaider leaned back to evade whatever Flame seemed to be about to do, but just straightened emself when she noticed it was just em. "Thanks. I must say yer accessories definitely fit ye. Especially the teeth." Flame did make a good demon. Now that ey had said hi to her, ey looked around at the others, but wasn't really impressed by anyone's costume. Ey replied to Valerie's wave with one of eir own. Vlad definitely stood out, but that was right on par for the course. Kaider almost snorted as ey saw Mihir's costume, though. Ey would've wanted to catch up with him, but he seemed to be in some serious conversation with Vlad, and though ey could have just gone to them, ey didn't want to intrude. Instead, ey turned back to Flame after eir gander. "So, what do ye say we go mope in that corner table over there with a plate of candy?" ey asked and pointed at the furthest of the game tables.

Teena nodded to the others and decided to get her food plate full before going over. She had been eating some snacks off the table and putting some on the plate. Now she got to the fruit punch and set the food plate down. "Ooh. I hope this one isn't spiked like the one when I got here." She poured a little into a mug and sipped it, and after concluding that it was good, she poured a whole mug. She figured that she might as well take a mug to Addy as well, so she poured another. However, how she had three things to carry and only two hands. She had an idea and set the two mugs down for a moment to pick up the plate. She then used her powers and made the plate float. Smiling at her work, she was about to grab the mugs when the stuff on the plate started separating from the plate. "Oops..." Teena grabbed the plate again and lifted it to place the snacks back. "Now, just the plate this time." She made the plate weightless, but the snacks weighed enough that she couldn't let the plate float freely and push it in front of her. She then just decided to carry the plate on her forearms and the mugs in her hands – and didn't remember that maybe someone else could've carried it after getting lost in playing around with her powers. Teena made her way to Addy and set the punch mugs down. "I hope I am not intruding?" she said. "I brought punch and a plate of snacks!"

Following Kaider's gaze around the room Flame gave a sigh. Maybe spending time with It would help. "Make it two plates and I'm in. I should have raided a booze shop earlier, at least make tonight a bit better." Heading in the direction of the tables, making sure to avoid one particular Russian, she carried on to X-Men Game Tables.

Laurel nodded, she didn't want to leave Addy feeling down. "I guess bananas really don't have a lasting effect. I guess the happiness fades when curiously, thinking she could have asked someone to help with the plates but Teena's powers were really cool so it always was fun to watch her practice. She followed Teena after smiling at Val and Nathan. She was behind Teena so she peeked around her friend and waved at Addy smiling. "How's it going Addy?" she was worried about her blue friend.

Addy looked up as first Teena arrived and then Laurel. "You don't have to hang out with the cripple," she said with a frown. Then she allowed a small smile. "But the company is appreciated." Sitting up properly, she looked over at Teena. "Thank you."

Mihir stepped a bit closer to the big Russian. "For what I am about to say, please do not hit me. But I was wondering..." Mihir paused, knowing that Vlad might see what he had to say as justification to despise the Native, but it was worth a shot. After all, he was an old fashioned sort. "I was wondering if there was any way to receive your permission to date her in the future. Not now, of course, I am hardly settled in here, you do not know me at all, and I have yet to find my place here. And, customarily, I would ask her father. But you are her older brother." He was rambling like an idiot. Maybe Vlad would just do him a favor and hit him anyway. Put him out of his misery.

Kaider was about to follow Flame, but ey noticed some foodstuffs in the long table that ey wanted, so ey went and grabbed some as well as a mugful of the punch. Then ey went to X-Men Game Tables.

Valerie returned Shade's smile when his shadow-swathed form drifted by the snack table, presuming there was nothing behind the expression other than friendliness. 'Nathan?' she asked to make sure she got it correct, then continued, chipper as ever, 'Well, now you know me... and it seems like you're acquainted with them,' Val continued, her eyes trailing after Teena and Laurel as they went off to tend to Addy. 'Besides, like, most if not all of the students will probably be here tonight, so you can conveniently meet everyone all at once!' Apparently that seemed like a perfectly ideal situation for the blonde. 'Sooo, whereabout are you from?' she inquired and, though she took a plate from the table and started to carefully select what she wanted from the spread, Val looked sidelong up at the black-and-white haired boy periodically, awaiting his response. The only time she actually looked away was when she noticed Mihir and Vlad making their way up the buffet, too.

Endelyn looked confused when Justin mentioned the head over heels comment, not fully understanding the meaning of it. She shrugged it off when he asked her about why she was looking scared. That was a more important topic at the moment. Remembering about Halloween, and how costumes could be anything, she asked hesitantly. "Are you wounds...real?" she asked as she noticed them more now. How she didn't notice them in the first hall, she had no clue. She made a mental note that she needed to pay attention to things better.

Having securely placed the bowl of candy back on the table, Lynn turned with great vigor and began to march around, looking for someone to talk to. The tail of her cat costume shook behind her lightly as she did a small little skip over to where she could see Endelyn and Justin.

With his plate of food in one hand, the pile of which was rapidly disappearing into the monster's mouth, Vlad kept a cold gaze upon Mihir. As he explained that he wanted to date his sister at some other time off in the distant future when things would be more favorable, the elder brother just laughed and shook his head, scarcely believing what he'd just heard. "Your story gets more confounded vith every vord that spills out," he said, setting his plate down on the dining table with the fantastic spread to add another handful of sliced meats. He then turned a very grave face to the Native. "You haff a bad memory or something? I said that if you vonted to date her you could forget it. That goes for now, tomorrow, and every other day. Stop following her around," he growled menacingly. He didn't feel the need to vocalize a threat outright, figuring that his size and severe face would drive the point home. Then, he grabbed his plate and headed away from the buffet table, leaving Mihir to rot for all he cared. He had seen Korvka wander off and was about to go find her when he noticed Flame and Kaider making their way to the game tables, where his sister was. Sighing, he opted not to go stir the pot and instead headed to the table where Teena and Laurel were busily trying to cheer up Addy. Setting his enormous plate of food down at a vacant seat across from the three girls, Vlad eased himself into the chair. "Happy Holloveen, kids!" he said with a smile, as if he hadn't just threatened a fellow mutant mere moments ago.

Nathan smiled to Val, "If I meet everyone tonight, I'll still forget most of their names by tomorrow. I'm from Michigan, I was just sent here for the school so that I can work on my powers," he followed the girl to the table, picking up a plate of his own and began filling it, "So, what about you? Where are you from, why are you here?"

"Why would we not hang out with you, though?" asked Teena from Addy but didn't expect a reply – of course there was no reason not to be with her. Teena offered the other punch mug to Addy and sipped from her own. She noticed Lynn walk by. "Ah, what an adorable kitty costume!" When Vlad came in and set the plate down, she replied to him. "Happy Halloween, Vlad-monster! Ooh, that looks yummy. May I?" She picked a small cookie from his plate, replaced it with another kind of cookie from her plate and then ate the cookie. Then it slowly dawned on her why Addy might be sad. "Ohh... Is that why you're sad, Addy? Your leg? Does it hurt?" she asked compassionately.

Laurel pouted upset that Addy wasn't happy. "Cripple? It's not permanent though, so don't worry. It'll come off soon!" she said gesturing to the cast. "And we're always happy to hang out with you!" She just lumped Teena in with her, hoping she wouldn't mind. She plopped down in a seat just before Vlad arrived. "Hey Vlad-instein!" she grinned at the big older man. She tilted her head and watched Addy curiously. "Aww, does it hurt?"

As Vlad walked off, Mihir cursed himself. He wondered vaguely if he should just do as Vlad said and keep his distance. But Mihir knew something that Vlad didn't. Why Korvka had been tolerating his presence at all. The asking permission was just a formality. It was up to Korvka if he continued pursuit or not. But not yet. And he would attempt to appease Vlad. Maybe he could hang out with someone else. There were the new comers, but they looked to be attached already. There was Teena, she was nice. But she was sitting with Vlad, who probably wouldn't tolerate him right then. He frowned and went over to sit on a large pumpkin in the pumpkin patch. This just wasn't his night.

Addy didn't immediately answer when Teena asked her questions. She just stared at the table. Even when Vlad, who Addy was normally very excited to see (and that was thanks to the large crush that had been growing since Vlad's birthday), sat down, she didn't look up. It wasn't until Laurel asked as well that Addy looked up. "It hurts every time I 'port. Just where the break happened, though. But the doctor says it's healing fine."

Content in having been deserted, and finally having managed to swallow the remaining candy that had cemented his teeth together, Kyle refreshed his plate with general disregard as to what he was grabbing. His free hand sifted with abandon through a bowl of pretzels, knocking pieces of the salty snack onto the table and floor, and he touched more of the cheese cubes and crackers than he actually took, scattering a couple of them from the platters, too. He bulldozed his way through a few subsequent bowls and dishes, poured another cup of punch, and finally headed away from the bounty of snacks and toward the round tables, where there appeared to be a sparse accumulation of individuals. On occasion, some little piece of food or another would fall from his overly piled plate, but he didn't notice or just didn't care.

Glancing up from the fruit platter, Valerie smiled with warm amusement upon Nathan's modest admission that he wouldn't remember everyone's names, then placed a small bunch of green grapes onto her plate. 'Well, I am here for... the exact same reason,' she replied logically and succinctly to the latter part of his inquiry first. 'Michigan? I'm from Wisconsin. So we're, like, practically neighbors!' the blonde brightly continued. She daintily selected some strawberries and started to scoop out a dollop of fruit dip when Kyle's ghostly form came into her periphery. There was something brief about her expression that indicated that she was not appreciative of the way he was manhandling the shared buffet, but she quickly refocused on the young man with whom she was speaking, smiling as usual.

Nathan watched with mild bemusement as Kyle sifted through the dessert trays, and eyebrow cocked at him wild disregard for anyone else who may come after him for food. When Kyle left, he returned his gaze to Val, "Yeah, I guess we are," he chuckled, smiling at the blonde, "So, uh, have you been here long? Or just, like, a few weeks?" He grabbed a few more small handfuls of fruit and put them on his plate before turning and looking for somewhere to sit, thought mostly waiting for Valerie.

"What wounds.. oh these!" Justin absentmindedly wiped his face with the back of his hand taking off a bit of red paint. "No it's just marker." He laughed a bit at the confusion. "I kinda forgot what day it was so I just threw this zombie type outfit together. You're a really pretty... Princess is it?"

Light simply smiled sweetly in return to Shade's conclusion that she wouldn't be walking, leaning forward and intentionally batting her eyelashes up at him, putting on an innocent act. As he agreed to carry her and handed her his punch, she straightened her posture and picked up her glass as well, replying to his dramatic comment with a "Good boy," while he wrapped his arm around her shoulders. The girl raised her eyebrows a bit at Shade's grin, then closed her eyes briefly for the quick peck, returning the kiss and holding the two glasses of punch steady as he pulled away and scooped her up from the table, carrying them both off to X-Men Dance Floor.

'I've been here...' Valerie started to speak and paused, inattentively dropping a scant number of festive black-and-orange M&Ms onto her plate. Her attention drifted off to the dance floor, where she spied two lone souls taking advantage of the empty expanse, before she continued, '...liiiiike, a month and some change. I arrived here the twenty-first of September.' She nodded at the recollection, her high ponytail set to bobbing with the action. 'Went on a, like, mission that very day, too. Didn't even get a chance to take my bags up to my room!' With a little grin and a laugh to match, Val grabbed a couple of napkins and dispensed herself a cup of water, adding, 'The mission didn't end up being, you know, crazy or anything, thank goodness, but I think I totally would have preferred my inaugural event at the mansion to be a party.' Coming away from the snack layout, she stepped up along side the new student. With a quick, sweeping glance, Valerie scanned the area of the game tables, where a couple of her friends were gathered, then the round tables, where another faction of friends and acquaintances were seated. Looking back to Nathan, she smiled, shrugged a tiny bit and asked, 'Where would you like to sit?'

"How about...Over there?" Nathan said, tipping his head towards the table next to where Addy and the others were gathered. He didn't want to intrude on the others, but since he had recently met most of them, he figured it wouldn't be too bad to join them. He walked over to the table and set his plate and glass down, looking over to where Addy and the others were, giving them a quick wave, "Hey guys!"

Endelyn sighed a small sigh of relief when Justin revealed that the blood smothering his face was fake. It took her a moment to realise that he was talking about her outfit. "Oh... this was a last minute thing my friends helped me with. They did a fantastic job making me look like a princess, if that is what I'm supposed to be." she said and looked down at herself. She did have to admit that the dress was fancy enough to look like a princess dress. Endelyn laughed slightly. "This is my first time celebrating Hallow's Eve in such a way. I find it, kind of enjoyable."

Now that he was fully on his feet and mobile again, Justin had to move in a little closer to Endelyn to hear her over the music. "You have never celebrated Halloween before? Even as a little kid?" He hadn't met someone his age who hadn't been to a Halloween party, let alone trick or treated when they were young.

"Oh no, how awful," commented Teena to Addy. "Um... stronger painkillers?" she offered for a temporary solution, but didn't have any better ideas. "Or you could take a break from teleporting?" She noticed Nathan (and Valerie) come closer and gave them a wave.

"Don't take too many pain killers. When they say it's different depending on your height that doesn't mean because your tall for your age you take eight."
Laurel laughed recalling the time when she did take eight, not thinking straight because of the blinding headache, and ended up sleeping for two days and then passing out on her kitchen floor. She woke up covered in orange juice, thankful she used a plastic cup and wondering why there was a moldy waffle next to her. It was one of the weirdest things that had happened to her. Her brother had found her like that, on the kitchen floor, he had come to tell her he was leaving. She just shook off the memory and gave Addy a worried look. "We don't want you getting hurt, or anymore hurt.."

Instantly, Vlad noticed the strangely reticent nature of his normally effervescent friend, Addy and wondered if perhaps her behavior had something to do with her crutches. They couldn't be too festive, especially for what seemed to be an important American holiday. He looked to Laurel with a smile on his green face, the warmth of his expression somehow softening the harshness of the bolts and scars. "Its so nice to see you all here!", he said, pushing his plate closer to Teena so that she could feel free to take whatever she wanted from the massive pile. "I don't mind at all," he replied, grinning so that the Brit knew that his plate of food was free for the sharing. "I'm curious though as to vy everyvon thinks something is the matter vith Addy," he said after wiping his hands on his black jeans, the brown blazer stretching as he dusted himself off. "Is there indeed something wrong?" he asked in as gentle a voice as his deep bass would allow, turning a concernedly furrowed brow to the blue-furred girl.

As often happens when a lot of people ask about someone's well being, especially when that person is either hurt or having a bad day, Addy burst into tears as Vlad asked if there was something wrong. For the third time that day, she was in a state that would leave her damp and hiccuping. But what made it worse was that everyone was sitting there, being so nice. Moving her arm to wipe the tears away, Addy's elbow caught her crutches, knocking them to the ground. As they crashed, Addy's tears stopped as suddenly as they had started, and, with her hands in her lap, Addy put her head down on the table, forehead first. "Stupid crutches, stupid broken leg, stupid party, stupid costume." Her voice was slighting strange sounding as it traveled under and through the table. "First Halloween ever with actual people and can't even stand."

'Looks good!' Valerie chirped at Nathan's choice in seating and walked toward the table, a vague, easy smile, as usual, on her face as she made her way over. Her pleasant and agreeable expression promptly faded as she set her plate of food and cup of water down, for, however a brief bit of time it was, Addy was weeping. Since the stricken student was surrounded by Teena, Laurel and Vlad, who all appeared to be looking on in concern, Val decided to remain at the adjacent table for the moment and slid into her chair. With her attention diverted briefly, the blonde was taken by surprise when the younger student's crutches clattered to the ground in a heap, but it gave Val substance with which to form an assumption as to why the blue student had so suddenly started to cry. As the storm of the quick tantrum passed, the girl cast a sympathetic eye to Addy, with a sort of buck-up, kiddo it'll get better look, even though she had her head down, then turned back to Nathan with a tentative smile. 'Poor thing.'

Nathan gave a concerned sort of smirk with Addy's brief fit of crying, "Yeah, it's a great party like this and she's stuck in that thing," he said, giving notion towards Addy's cast. He picked up a head of broccoli, using it as a sort of pointer, turning back to Valerie, "So, you said you're here for the same reason as I am, and, pardon my curiosity, but what exactly are your powers, if I can ask? It's just all new to me, and I like hearing about what everyone can do." Finishing his line of questioning, he snapped into the broccoli and chewed as he waited for Valerie's response.

"Oh, thank you," said Teena to Vlad. She wasn't too fazed by Addy's burst, though she didn't quite know what to do. Since she didn't seem to go on a full bawl, she just tried to give some more help. "Well, let us know if we could do something to help! I believe I could make you weigh less if that would help... but moving while weighing less is hard too, it took me quite a while to get manageable."

"It's nice to see you too big guy." Laurel said watching as Addy burst into tears, totally flustered. She, like Teena had no idea what to do, she looked from Teena, to Vlad to Addy. Laurel didn't have much experience with crying. She was almost always happy. "Sorry Addy, wish I could help." She shook her head, seriously wishing she could help her friend. She didn't like seeing people in pain.

Endelyn nodded to Justin, who was asking her about her past when it came to Halloween. "I always stayed inside, and we would ward away spirits using herbs such as thyme. My parents, brother, and I would all sit inside and eat dinner, then would sit around a fire in the fireplace. We would never go outside of Hallow's Eve. We wouldn't even go near the windows actually. Spirits might come into the house." Endelyn tried to explain the best she could. She found it rather difficult to put what she was saying into the correct terms, and she was praying she didn't sound crazy.

Vlad leaned close, he and Teena sharing the plate between the two of them since none of the others showed interest in the food. He dipped a chip into the dollop of guacamole and closed his eyes in appreciation of the CRUNCH that echoed through his skull. He couldn't remember the last time he ate, or if he had at all, now that he thought about it. There was definitely another plate or two in his future. As Addy sprung a leak, the older Russian looked on somewhat perplexedly. He was not terribly accustomed to crying girls but he knew a thing or two about tantrums and didn't stand for it for long. He grabbed an orange slice between two fingers, uttering "Addy!" with stern deliberateness. With her head on the table she could not see him pop the orange into his mouth and then bite down on the fruit to situate the rind over his teeth. The girls didn't seem to know what to do so he whipped up a quick plan, figuring that it was just downright wrong to let someone cry at a damned party.

Addy's head whipped up again at Vlad's stern tone. She sniffed a little, wiping the last of the tears off her face. "Sorry," she muttered, finally looking up at Vlad. Then she saw the orange rind over his teeth, standing out so well against his Franken-face. The laughter bubbled up, driving any thoughts of tears or sadness away. This was by far the silliest thing she had seen in a while, and Vlad was always nice, so her mood was very much improved. Addy really did enjoy Vlad's company.

Nodding, Valerie agreed with Nathan's assessment of Addy's unfortunate mood, then picked-up a strawberry by its stem and dredged it through some fruit dip. However, it appeared as if things were taking a turn for the better at the adjacent table, at which Val smiled appreciatively. She was in the process of taking a bite of the berry when her table companion posed his question about her ability, so she held up a finger as if to say pardon me, one moment as she chewed, swallowed and set the uneaten portion down to wipe her mouth with a paper napkin. Over the past few weeks, the dancer had, through a series of personal and shared training sessions with a couple of the other students, gained a decent proficiency in regards to her power. Naturally, this granted her greater confidence, so she wasn't as reluctant to demonstrate when other asked about her mutation. 'You might not... care for it,' she honestly warned. Val had come to terms with the fact that it was always going to be a mixed bag when it came to people's reactions, though, and she watched Nathan's face evenly as she raised her right arm suddenly and quickly. Angles popped noisily into place in both her upper and lower arm, and she held her slender, albeit grotesquely contorted, arm aloft for a moment after the demonstration, then reversed her previous motion to set her arm back properly. She raised her eyebrows, her expression expectant, and waited for his response.

Nathan's eyes went wide with awe, "That's...impressive," he said after swallowing down the broccoli. "I'm not so sure I'd want to be able to break my bones on command...Seems like that might hurt a bit?" He asked in modest concern. He picked up his fork and flipped gently through the pile of fruit on his plate before coming across a piece of pineapple, which he stabbed and put into his mouth, chewing quickly, and swallowing.

"You guys were very.... cultural." Justin struggled to find fitting words to reply to the very odd Halloween traditions he had just had explained to him. He rubbed his chin absentmindedly trying to find something to say. Well idiot she has talked to your more than anyone else this last month dont ditch her, get a reason to stick around, dance maybe? "So well wanna dance? Maybe you could tell me more about warding off evil spirits?" Well not exactly smooth but i guess it will do. He managed to half stumble through the offer without tripping over words.

Teena followed the action while eating snacks off of her and Vlad's plate.

Laurel chuckled at Vlad, thankful he dealt with Addy's crying, not to be insensitive but she had no clue, when it came to that, and most other things. She just sat back enjoying the party.

When Addy spilled for a few giggles, Vlad smiled and crossed his eyes, becoming one very silly-looking Frankenstein. He then removed the orange rind from his mouth after biting the fruit completely to leave the rind bare. He looked to Laurel, who seemed strangely quiet for this situation, and then Teena, who appeared more interested in food than having a good time. Deciding that now was the time for action, Vlad cleared his throat and dusted his hands over the rapidly diminishing heap of food on the styrofoam plate. "All right," he said, standing up so that his chair scooted out behind him. He bent to scoop Addy's crutches, grabbing them with one hand and holding them at his side. He then extended his other arm to the blue-furry girl in her fancy black dress. "Come on, Addy. No more moping, ve are going to the dance floor," he said, looking first to Addy, and then to Teena and Laurel to nonverbally suggest that the invitation was open to all.

Teena looked at Vlad with somewhat wide eyes. First he brought a big plate of food, then ate one chip and then was going off to dance. Teena assumed he too tried to apply food to Addy's "wound". "Well, why not, if not knowing how to dance is not an obstacle!"

"Oh yay!" Laurel exclaimed jumping to her feet, her hip bumping the table making her stumble before righting herself. "You don't know how to dance? I think I can, maybe. If you consider jumping around and twirling dancing. Not that I do it to the beat. I, kind of can't really keep a beat. I guess I'm just that kind of girl. I march to the beat of another pop song." she giggled and shrugged, her ditziness showing clearly, If that's what you'd call it.

Pushing herself out from the table, Addy had to use Vlad's arm to stand once more. Getting around these last few days would have been a breeze with Vlad to lean on. He was rock solid and much more steady than the random furniture she sometimes used to get around. With a smile and a nod, she used Vlad as a sort of leaning post, trying to keep her balance on one leg and still stand to her full height. Not an easy task for her even with both legs. "Sounds like a great idea," she said with another nod.

"Excellent!" Vlad cheered with a big, green grin at the ladies' willingness to try and cut a rug. "Ha, off course not, Teena. So long as you don't do the Charleston I think you'll be all right," he said, grinning as he leaned over and grabbed a handful of sliced meat from the plate and then dropped it into his mouth from above. He chewed for a little bit, remembering his hunger, and then grabbed another handful of chips to crunch on while Addy was getting up, using him like a crutch. "Streaks, no von is going to care if you can't dance. That's vy no von is dancing yet, they're all vaiting for somevon else to start it up," he said with a kind grin. It was easy not to brood about Flame when he was focused on helping other people enjoy themselves and he beamed down at them all. Still holding Addy's crutches, Vlad stooped to one knee and then gathered the small girl on his arm, so that she could use his forearm like a seat and then just lean against his bulk or hold onto his shoulder. As she stood, he said, "hope you don't mind, but volking vith these is a drag to votch," lifting the crutches in his other hand and speaking to Addy to make sure she knew he wasn't trying any funny business on a wounded and innocent girl. "All right, von party, coming up!" he said as he then walked to X-Men Dance Floor, with Addy on one arm, using it like a bench, hopefully with Teena and Laurel in tow as well.

Addy gave a gleeful sort of squeeky noise as her hands landed on Vlad's shoulder to keep her balance as he carried her to the dance floor.

'They're not actually... breaking, ' Valerie started, wondering how to best describe what happened, ' ...they just kinda... bend rigidly.' She shook her head and half shrugged. 'At any rate, it doesn't hurt. But the sensation did take some time to get accustomed to. Torso contortion still isn't totally pleasant, since my insides squish around.' She picked-up the half strawberry from before her demonstration, finished it off and took a sip of water before she could provide any further information that her new acquaintance would be less than interested in. Val was pleasantly distracted by Addy's joyful sounds, and the blonde looked over in time to see her being carted off toward the dance floor by Vlad. Recalling their earlier conversation, she was glad, but not at all surprised, to see that he was a catalyst in the fun to be had at the Halloween party. Her attention lingered a moment before she looked back to Nathan. 'What about yourself?' she then asked, toying with some of the M&Ms on her plate, pushing them around with a fingertip instead of actually eating them.

"That's just...cool." Nathan said in slight astonishment that the bones weren't breaking. "I control a sort of internal energy. Well, here...let me show you." With that, the boy lifted his hand, and focused a flame of emerald green energy around his hand. He rolled back his wrist and let the flame roll into his hand, taking his other hand, he seemed to pull the flame apart into a thin sheet, and eventually into two smaller flames, before flicking his wrists and letting the energy dissipate.

Teena headed after Vlad after grabbing a few snacks to go.

A smile broke across Endelyn's face when Justin said they were very cultural. "Yes, that's a perfect way to explain it." However, when he blurted out about dancing, her confused expression came back. "Dancing..?" she questioned. She looked out at the dancefloor, and luckily there weren't as many people there, so she looked back at Justin and smiled. "Sure, that sounds lovely."

Laurel skipped after Teena on her way to the dance floor, happily.

Though there was a carefully concealed gratification about her expression when her mutation was deemed cool, Valerie momentarily pretended to be more interested in the grapes on her plate and plucked a couple off of the bunch to eat. Her attention was back upon Nathan's hands, however, when he performed his brief but very green spectacle. Energy manipulation intrigued but also confounded her sometimes, since it was so different from her own ability. 'Is that, like... hot?,' she asked, after having watched with furrowed brow until the emerald flames disappeared. When the sound of ambient chatter ceased from the table next to them, Val cast a fleeting glance over there to see that the small group had entirely abandoned their seating for the dance floor. Smiling, she looked back to Nathan and genuinely admitted, with a gesture of her own hands toward his to indicate his previous display. 'It's actually kinda... pretty.'

On the wings of annoyance, a common thread with most of Korvka's interactions with other humans, the swashbuckler reentered the main party hall from her brief stay at the game tables. She loved Flame, but Kaider, as per usual, had stood on her last nerve for longer than she cared to endure. She found the long buffet table and grabbed a plate, walking a few paces away from the store bought cookies and candies until she found the rest of the food. She also bypassed the fruit plate and the tray of vegetables, knowing full well that her own produce tasted much better. Deciding at last on a few slices of meat and cubes of cheese, Korvka turned around and instantly spotted Valerie thanks to the emerald green flame that her current companion was holding in each palm. Glad to see that Val was relatively alone, the Russian made her way over to the table and, pulling out a chair, sat down right next to the pink girl. "Hey," she offered, looking at the genie costume and giving her a little grin. She then looked over to Nathan, her eyes holding him for a moment before she asked, "Another new von?"

Nathan smiled at Val after she called his powers pretty, "Thank you. They're really not hot at all, the energy can just be a little draining at times." He looked down to his wrists for a brief moment, realizing that his shirt had kept his tattoos covered, and for that, he was glad for some strange reason, the fact that his eyes would light up when manipulating the energy was bad enough, people knowing that his tattoos also lit up like a 4th of July fireworks show was a little too much for him. With the Russian girl coming over and sitting at the table, it gave him the pause he needed to stop thinking of this, "Yes, I am new here. Name's Nathan White, good to meet you."

After Nathan described a bit about his power, Valerie opened her mouth to say or ask something else, but the moment passed when Korvka swept over to their table and took a seat. Smiling brightly to her friend, Val offered a 'Hiya!' in return then scootched around a little in her own chair so that she could share her attention with both the Russian and Nathan, since she now sat between the two. 'You look pretty fearsome!' Val favorably commented about Korvka's choice in costume, since it did suit her quite well, then nodded her affirmation that the black-and-white haired boy was indeed new. Valerie looked expectantly between the two as at least half of the introductions were made, and selected a black M&M from the tidy row of candy that she had pushed into color-coordinated formation on her plate.

"Korvka," she replied minimally, letting her shrewd brown eyes drift up to the black-and-white of Nathan's hair, holding a square of pepperjack between two fingers. She leaned one arm on the table so that she could see everyone in question, leaning on her elbow as Val, the point of their triangle, adjusted in her seat. "Thank you," the Russian said to her blonde friend's compliment, a pleased smile on her face as she looked down at the chocolate brown spirals that fell over her shoulders. "The hair vos a bitch, but I like it. You look really good too... old TV show, right?" she asked, trying to remember as she ate the cube of cheese, gesturing her finger up and down to indicate Valerie's whole ensemble. "So Nathan, I see you haff met the velcoming committee," she teased, grinning to Val before looking at the strangely dressed American and narrowed her eyes in appraisal. "Let me guess, you vear that outfit to big anime nerd gatherings?" she asked, unable to tell what else he could be other than some Japanese cartoon character she'd never heard of.

Mihir waited for Korvka to be comfortably seated before he stood, straightening his outfit. He moved down the food table and gathered some food before walking over to the table and smiled at Korvka, giving Val a grin. "Nothing like a party," he said with only a slight hint at sarcasm. Setting his plate down, he took a seat next to Nathan, who he had yet to properly meet. Mihir hoped that Korvka didn't flee when he sat down.

Lucas rose from his lonely seat at the table, taking a final sip of his water before walking over to the table where everyone seemed to be congregating. He stood awkwardly, meeting new people was never his forte, he thought with Nathan taking residence there, he would be more relaxed. He was mistaken, taking to playing with the ruffles on his sleeves.

"Looks like I put on a little light show and the whole place comes running," Nathan said with a smirk and a laugh. He nodded to Mihir as he came and sat next to him, then turned back to Korvka, "Well, you're mostly right, I could wear this to the conventions, if I went. I mostly just watch the shows, I don't completely geek out like that."

With a sweep of his hand to indicate the direction of the dance floor, Justin steeped to the side to allow Endelyn to walk first trying to show some chivalry. "Are you any good? Dancing that is?"

'Well, it was totally worth the effort, your hair really looks awesome,' Valerie replied, bubbly as ever, then turned her head slightly so that her ponytail swung around a little. 'Mine's so straight that I can barely even get it to take a little flip,' she continued before reaching a hand up to bat her hair dismissively over her shoulder. 'And you guessed it, Jeannie's her name.' When Korvka referenced the welcome committee, Val smiled, shrugged ever-so-slightly and looked on with wide, innocent eyes, as if to say Yep! that's me!. She contained a little titter of surprise, not so much at Nathan's expense, but more at Korvka's brusque approach in asking what manner of costume he was wearing, though Valerie was also at a loss as to what his garb represented. When Mihir came to the table and claimed a seat, the dancer beamed back, finally feeling that the situation did, indeed, feel like a party. ‘I couldn’t agree more,’ she said, without a whit of sarcasm in her reply. As the lone figure of Lucas lingered at the periphery of the table, Val’s effulgent expression softened a little, though it was no less friendly. ‘Take a seat!’ she offered, forgoing a proper introduction at first, since there were three left.

Maintaining a measured distance from the students occupying the dining end of the party hall, Kyle meandered conveniently between the buffet, the tables and the exit. Though he still had his stores of snacks stuffed into the deep pockets of his cut-off pants, he'd blown through the small smorgasbord of treats on his plate, which, now empty, he lazily left on one of the tables, along with another discarded cup. By now, he'd also managed to finally sully his costume; a tell-tale red dribble of punch could be seen down the front of his sheet, but the young man seemed neither to notice nor care.

"Oh, thank you." Lucas came out of his day dreaming state and smiled, taking a seat at the table and keeping his arms close to his body, looking around all of the people and thinking to himself that he needed better people skills. Hopefully he'd pick them up at some point but for now he was lost for words.

"I haff some stuff that can help you, if you vont to try it," Korvka offered exclusively to Valerie as she lamented the sleek, straight spill of her golden tresses. When Mihir appeared, like an obedient lapdog, the pirate looked up and down his skinny expanse for a moment. "Are you following me?" she asked, her voice dull but her eyes full of questions. Mihir had been acting strangely all day, like a dog who wanted nothing more than to heel, and she didn't quite like it or understand. As much as she enjoyed working on music with him and their impromptu 'baking' session, Korvka was not prepared for another Michael. People clinging to her was a surefire way to send her for the escape hatch. Looking over at Nathan and his bi-colored hair, Korvka "hmmm"-ed but said nothing further about whether or not he was a flaming dweeb. Lucas, the one dressed in strange period clothes with ruffles and leggings, caught Korvka's attention even before he arrived at the table. She snorted with laughter as she watched him approach. As he stood awkwardly by, she glanced up once at him and then looked away, saying nothing as Valerie offered him a seat.

"Yes," Mihir said to Korvka, rolling his eyes. "I am following you so much that I have not actually seen you most of the day." A small smile formed on his lips. If he was actually following her, he would have probably managed without attracting so much attention. "Val," he said, turning his attention to the pink clad girl. "How on Earth did you come up with Jeannie?"

Several minutes after he'd left, carrying Light bridal style, Shade walked back into the Party Hall holding two empty cups and trying to wipe some of Light's lipstick off his lips. The boy walked to the buffet table casually and poured some more punch onto the cups, also grabbing a plate and placing some assorted candy on it. "Nice costume." he said simple to Kyle, who was prowling around as he got a small bottle of vodka out through his shadow cloak and poured a bit on each cup. "Digging the bloodstain." he added, referring to the trail of red punch on the sheet that made up Kyle's costume.

Endelyn curtsied slightly when he stepped to the side and beckoned to the dancefloor. "I have not danced in a long time, but I believe it will all come back to me once I start." she said with a smile and walked ahead to the X-men Dance Floor, making sure he followed her there.

Ohh, absolutely, I'll try absolutely anything,' Valerie grinned and graciously affirmed upon Korvka's offer to share her hair secrets before nodding to Lucas, offering a friendly, 'No problem.'; she figured that, perhaps in good time when he was feeling more comfortable, he'd even offer an introduction. She was a little taken aback by Mihir's sudden and rapt interest in her costume, considering the almost snippy nature of the words he and Korvka just exchanged. Her lips slid from a slightly pursed thoughtfulness to a half-smile before she replied, though there was a touch of radiance absent despite her perfectly congenial response. 'Ahh, well... several months back, some of my friends and I brainstormed, since we usually go to the same parties, and we all kinda like having, you know, a theme, and...' her right shoulder raised and fell in a tiny shrug, '... we decided to all be from old T. V. programs. 'The Avengers, Bewitched... I Dream of Jeannie,' she briefly listed, indicating with a little motion of her right hand to her own costume.

A freckled hand reached out from under the sheet after Shade idly addressed Kyle. He said nothing at first, only evenly watching the mutant in vampiric attire as he played bartender at the buffet. The yellow, melted-chocolate-tinged, potato-chip-greasy finger tips just left a vague smear on top of the punch stain-- there really was no use in not using his costume as a giant napkin now. 'Ghosts ain't got blood to bleed, Dracula,' he stated in return, unsure if the young man who had just a little while ago insulted Korvka with such flippant aplomb was actually, honestly complimenting his ghostly garb. Without so much as a proper introduction, Kyle warily but rather rudely inquired, 'What's that thing you got on?' after seeing Shade pull the vodka from his cloak of shadows, as there was something peculiar about the garment that he couldn't quite place.

Lucas took a few breaths and relaxed a little, he looked over to Valerie and smiled again, attempting to make conversation. "Lucas Alexander, it's a pleasure to meet you." Lucas said extending a hand.

Korvka's eyes snapped to Mihir but she wiped her fingers off on a napkin and painted on a false smile. "Vell that's because I haff been avoiding you. Lucky me, it vorked," she lied, every bit as snidely. It wasn't true, at least not really since she'd been busy all day with Light and Flame, but if he was going to be an ass then she was too. To Valerie, who expressed genuine interest in Korvka's haircare products, she grinned, her face free of the sardonic expression she'd given to Mihir. Considering she had the most unruly locks in the mansion, she was surprised that the sleek and straight Valerie would show any real inclination towards using her product. But, if it was curl she wanted then she was talking to the right gal. Her attention briefly diverted to Lucas as he twittered and then offered the most timid introduction ever. "And vot are you, Fabio?" she asked, lifting a brow as she beheld his costume once more.

Barely able to contain a snide chuckle at Korvka's 'Fabio' comment, Nathan pulled up his glass of punch and took a drink off the blood-colored liquid. Setting the glass down, he smiled as he scanned the table with his eyes, looking at the small gathering that had formed around the table. He hadn't been at the mansion long, but he sure had gotten quite the group surrounding him without much work at all.

For Mihir, the party was taking a swift downward spiral. He did think that Halloween was a rather stupid tradition, but it was celebrated here in the U.S. And everyone had been excited. He ignored Korvka's snide comment and just shook his head, watching Val. "I rather like it," he said. "Jeannie, would you like to go dance?" He really wanted to be away from Korvka right then. Why did he sit down in the first place?

Lucas turned to give the seemingly Russian girl a quizzical look. "Erm, Fabio?" Lucas was confused, he had no idea who this Fabio was or what he stood for. "Actually I just found these in the bottom of my bag, I didn't have time to prepare another costume." Lucas shrugged.

Hearing Kyle's response, Shade simply raised an eyebrow and looked at the sheet-covered mutant, replying with a simple "Indeed." when the boy pointed out ghosts had no blood. All and all, however, Shade was pleased with the new mutant's attitude towards the bottle of vodka, had it been Kaider, it would've been shrieking bloody murder while soiling its pants and running to tell on him. "This?" he asked back, making the cloak grow a bit and wrap itself around his body, almost as if it was a living organism. "It's just my power." he then added, placing one of the punch cups on the table and held his hand up for a second. Immediately, the cloak entirely disappeared from around his body and immediately shifted into a small, black, bat-like shape "standing" on the boy's hand, as if it was made of pitch black ink.

Valerie had to stand up and carefully lean to reach over the expanse of the table between the two of them, but she did manage to give Lucas a single handshake. 'Nice to meet you Lucas. I'm Valerie,' she said before giving Korvka a sidelong look and a half-cocked smile after her Fabio remark. She didn't necessarily find it amusing, but the Russian did have a point, the blonde surmised. When Mihir posed the dancing question, Val had her cup raised to her mouth to take a sip of water, and she took advantage of the moment to avoid answering right away. Did she want to dance? Do fish swim? Replacing the cup on the tabletop, she smiled and admitted, 'I would love to dance.' Her blue eyes flickered over to Nathan, Lucas, and finally to Korvka, whom she was still looking at when she started to ask, politely and sweet as pie, '...anyone else want to come?' since she was, after all, not the type to just abandon friends and acquaintances. To Mihir, she tilted her face and smiled vaguely, as if to hopefully affirm that he didn't mind her extension of the invitation.

'Ohhh. I see ,' Kyle said then mimicked coolly in a drawl-tinged, mock-bored tone, 'Just your power'. Narrowing his distinctive eyes, the boy observed with pointed attention as Shade manipulated the shadow-cloak, first as is grew, and then receded to practically nothing, save for the festive little bat upon the older boy's proffered hand. Leaning in only slightly yo get a better look, he quipped, 'Looks reeeal useful,' his bald head bobbing a nod from beneath the bed sheet; he obviously did not grasp the depth of Shade's actual abilities from his quaint parlor tricks.

"Not all it does, of course." replied Shade as Kyle tried to figure out his ability. With a quick flick of his wrist, the small bat shifted back into a cloak, wrapping itself around Shade. "One has to keep the mystery, though." he then added, as if pointing out to the new mutant that he wouldn't be showing him any more tricks and he'd have to figure out Shade's power on his own. "Now if you excuse me, my lady waits." added finally the boy in his usual, whisper-like voice as he took each of the punch cups in one hand and let a shadowy tendril emerge from the cloak to carry the paper plate with assorted candy and cookies he'd put together. With a slight nod, the boy turned around and walked back to the X-Men Dance Floor, noticing now EVERYONE was heading there. "Swarm mentality.", he thought with a small sigh.

Mihir nodded and looked at everyone, his gaze only resting for a split second on Korvka before moving on. "And you can all see me do the ridiculous chicken dance thing I learned as a child." He looked at Val and pointed. "Not the chicken dance you are probably thinking of either." Standing to give a small demonstration, he flapped around like a bird for a moment, thumbs hooked under his arms, knees bent, and head bobbing in a circle. Pausing, he looked at the table. "Who else is in?"

Arriving rather late Daniela finally made her way into the X-men Party Hall, wearing a rather complete witch outfit. Around her legs, the girl wore cutesy striped leggings colored a pale purple and black, creeping up to a black, plaid skirt which seemed to be only slightly raggedy, probably to match the witch aesthetic. The most eye-catching pieces of clothing she was wearing, however, were a slick, black leather corset over the girl's shoulder-less shirt and a very big, crumply witch hat, complete with a golden buckle on the side and an enormous burgundy feather. Around her neck, the raven haired girl wore a maroon and white striped scarf, rather over-sized in which it covered her chin and fell down almost to her butt, with one end in front of her and the other behind. With one hand on her hat so it wouldn't fall off, the girl held an old looking broom on the other, the long handle of it gnarled and curving in random directions, and on the very tip of the broom sat a cute, tiny plastic owl, pitch black with little more than it's shape and huge googly eyes to tell what it was. The girl quickly surveyed the area, it seemed rather packed, there were a few people around the buffet table, she could make out Mihir who looked quite strange, Val was wearing an awfully fitting Jeannie costume and Korvka a sexy buccaneer outfit, much sexier than Daniela's at least, but not as cute. On the other end of the room she noticed Flame and Kaider looking quite gloomy and awkward near what seemed to be some games. The girl really wanted to go check out the games, but the two in the area seemed positively annoyed. Much to her dismay, Daniela noticed most of the people had migrated to the dance floor en-masse for some reason, as if they were all joined at the hip. Unfortunately for her, the girl hadn't the slightest idea how to dance, tho.

Korvka picked at her food, suddenly not very hungry. The sunlight from her time in the garden had satisfied any "hunger pangs" she might have felt, and, after a few bites of sliced turkey, she placed the meat down on her plate and shoved the styrofoam away from her. She looked over to Valerie, with her cup poised at her pink lips as Mihir asked her to dance, secretly glad that the boy seemed to have picked up on Korvka's less than subtle hints that she was not interested. The swashbuckler just laughed a little at Val's reaction, knowing full well that as soon as her mouth was free of the blood-red punch she'd hop on the chance to dance like a hobo on a ham sandwich. Korvka was staring into space, seemingly quite bored with the party when she suddenly felt a pair of eyes on her and then turned her head to meet Valerie's baby-blue questing gaze. She knew the question of course, Korvka, won't you come with us?, and had it come from anyone other than the sweet and modest blonde at her side, she probably would have declined. She looked suddenly struck under Val's sweetly leading expression, like someone had just asked her to send a photo of her tits to her brother. But, with a sigh, she rolled her eyes and stood up from her chair. "Oh, all right," she said, with the makings of a small smile on the corner of her mouth. As she stood, Daniela came into view and the Russian paused, looking at the small girl with seemingly little interest before that tiny smile on her face turned into a tiny smirk. So the brat had put some thought into her costume then? Excellent.

As if she couldn't help it, the questioning but pleasant expression Valerie wore broke into a sincerely amused smile as Mihir demonstrated his dance. 'I can't wait to see the full rendition,' she said laughingly. When Korvka then agreed to also come to the dance floor, the genie-costumed young lady looked even more joyful; before she even spoke, a brief, gleeful giggle issued forth from her perfectly glossed lips, for she was happy to assume that whatever weirdness she just experienced had subsided, and that her friends were ready to go have some real fun. Upon following Korvka's line of sight toward Daniela, Val offered a wave to the witchy girl in greeting. Then, Valerie pushed her chair back, stood and politely replaced her chair in a series of fluid motions and rallied, 'Let's go!' before gayly turning on the ball of her high-heeled foot, away from the table and to head toward the X-Men Dance Floor.

With an unimpressed sniff, Kyle turned away from Shade after he reformed his cloak and traipsed back to the dance floor, dismissing the older student as some Vincent Price wannabe. Blah blah, blah, mystery, blah blah. With most of the dining tables vacant, he plodded over to his chosen seat, pulled it out and plunked his rear end down hard, causing the chair to slide back a little with the movement. He leaned back in his chair and, without any thought to manners or appropriate behaviour, he set his bare feet, crossed at the ankles, upon the table top. Of course, the fact that his pockets were still stuffed with candy hadn't registered-- Kyle was never really one for forethought-- and a portion of the supply of the hoarded goodies away trickled and rolled out from under his costume and onto the floor as he rocked back in his chair.

A smile lit up on Mihir's face as Val got up and headed towards the dance floor. He looked around once more before heading after her, ignoring Dani's entrance and Kyle loosing his food horde.

Nathan sat at the table for a moment, picking out a few more bites of fruit, and taking another drink of the punch as the rest of the students that we're sitting there began to flock to the dance floor. Finally, he stood up and took a last drink off of the punch, finishing the glass and set it down before standing up and following the rest of the flock to the X-Men Dance Floor.

Shana came through the doors from the complex just half a second behind Daniela, dressed in what looked to be tattered and bloodstained office-type clothing. Which it was. She had on a white dress shirt spotted with red, sleeves rolled up and tied to the side (showing off a bit of abdomen), with a red stain and a few buttons left undone at the top, topped off with a red tie and a pen in the breast pocket. The girl also donned a black pencil skirt, ripped right up the side, with thigh-high hose and simple black work shoes. On her shoulder, Shana was resting a cricket bat, looking ready to pounce on some unsuspecting victim, and the most unusual thing about her costume was her hair; she had her bleached locks pulled back into a simple ponytail at the back of her head, none of her hair teased like normal, with some of the shorter layers falling down over her ears and cheeks, framing her face. The movement of several students from the party hall area over to the dance floor immediately caught her eye, but she had little interest in any of the group at the moment. The sight of food, however, really got her attention, and putting her hand to her stomach, her face lit up as she said, "Oh, man, I haven't eaten since this morning!" Without another word, the girl walked over to the buffet of food, picking up a plate and putting on it an assortment of all sorts of different things, fruit, chips, candy, etc. Normally, Shana ate healthy, but she figured she could eat bad just tonight for the party.

As Valerie bubbled over and then alighted to the dance floor, Korvka watched, already second guessing her decision. However, she too stood and pushed her chair in with the toe of her boot before sighing and walking towards X-Men Dance Floor after the swinging blonde propeller of Valerie's high ponytail.

Daniela waved back to Val as the girl as pretty much everyone at the tables stood at the exact same time and headed out to the dance floor. "That's weird... Are they gonna square dance or something?" she asked Shana as she came into the party hall, looking quite puzzled, she wasn't sure it was normal that everyone moving from one area to the other in troves, as if they were being herded. However, the little witch was quickly snapped out of her musings by her roommate, who was now at the buffet table. "Actually.. I haven't had anything to eat either." she said to herself as she trailed after her roommate, getting some cookies first, since she had always been fond of baked goods. "Ohu! there's a game area too! I've never played party games." grinned Daniela as she rested her broom on the table and turned to her friend.

Teena made it back to her established table, where one very big plate and one smaller one were waiting. She sat down and ate a few cookies before remembering to look around the mostly empty tables. She spotted Shana and Daniela and waved to them. "Hello!"

Laurel exited the dance floor just after Teena and saw her friend sitting at the table they had been at before. She plopped down next to her friend as she waved to Shana and Daniela. She smiled at the two girls as she slid back in her chair and rested her elbows on the table, her chin resting on her open palms.

As Kyle balanced his chair on its two back legs, he impassively watched the exchange of bodies from the seating area to dance floor. As he glanced sidelong to see who just arrived to the hall, he grimaced-- either because he wasn't thrilled to see Shana or Daniela, but more likely because his stomach churned in protest of his fast and indiscriminate intake of junk food and sugary punch. He thumped a fist on his chest as if trying to jar loose a belch to comfort his innards, then, in a sudden flourish of bed sheet, he fought with the fabric of his costume a little as he pushed it up and off of his slouched form, letting it fall over the back of his chair. Apparently, he'd had quite enough of this costume thing. Unfettered by the sheet, but growing increasingly antsy, the otherwise shabbily-dressed boy unwrapped a piece of hard candy he'd pulled from his pocket, popped it into his mouth and let the wrapper carelessly fall to the floor before crossing his arms over his chest; Kyle seemed quite comfortable and practiced in his impolite posture, bouncing the chair back and forth a little as he reclined. After several moments, a sour expression crossed his amber, freckled mug, and he extracted the hard candy, pinching it between his right thumb and forefinger as he pulled it from between his lips. With total disregard to anything resembling manners, he chucked the sticky confection into the air, as if he couldn't get it away fast enough. Fortunately, though the candy landed with a soft little tap! somewhere in the vicinity of Laurel and Teena's tabletop, at least it didn't land on anyone's clothes or in anyone's hair.

Teena noticed Kyle throwing something to her and Laurel's way but didn't really have time to react before the candy had landed and bounced only barely off the table. "Hey! Eww!" She looked at Kyle. "How rude. We would appreciate it it you could keep your candy to yourself," she said keenly. While one could have expected her tone to be annoyed or perhaps even heated, it was, as usual, quite neutral. She decided to keep an eye on Kyle in case he decided to throw more candy at them.

Lucas watched as people left to the dance floor, he decided to rise from his chair and join them at Valeries proposal to venture. Taking a step forward, he made his way to X-Men Dance Floor.

"Who knows?" Shana called out back to Daniela at her question about everyone possibly square dancing. "as if everyone here wasn't weird enough, people gotta act strange, too," she added while piling more and more food onto her plate. When Daniela mentioned the games, she stopped to look in the same direction, catching Teena's and Laurel's waves toward them. With a smile and a wave back, she said to her friend, "We can head over there in a sec. Right now I'm starved." Finally, the girl checked out her plate, deciding she had enough food, with the assortment of mini sandwiches, chips, cookies, cheese cubes, and a piece or two of candy, and then she moved over to the punch, putting her plate down for just a second to pour herself a glass. "I swear, if Light spiked this punch..." she began to say, but had no real threat towards her sister, knowing the girl, without a doubt, could kick her ass, or electrocute her at the least.

With a lazy turn of his head toward Teena, Kyle was, at first, honestly unaware of why she was so flatly scolding him, and his smooth, freckled, yellow brow crinkled as he strained to hear what she was actually saying to him. After a moment, there was a spark of comprehension in his peculiar eyes, however, and the corner of his mouth slowly pulled-up into a cocky, lop-sided smile. 'What, you sayin' something to me?' he asked in a raised voice, indicating the pulsing ambient noise of the room with a careless, circular wave of his hand, though he was more than likely exaggerating the circumstances. 'It's sure hard to hear in here.' He re-crossed his arms over his chest, still in his position of repose with his feet on the table and his chair balanced back on its two hind legs, and decided to keep his baited stare in Teena's direction, in case she wanted to respond.

"Hey!" replied Daniela to Laurel and Teena as they came back from the dance floor, were everyone seemed to be moving discordinately with no regard to the music actually playing. "...I'm not going to dance.. but if I was, i'd never dance to 'Baby got Back'" shrugged Daniela with a tiny smirk as she turned to her roommate once more. Not noticing the small commotion between Teena and Kyle, when they started yelling from one end of the table are to the other, the girl immediately spotted the orange mutant shuffling out from under his costume. Since Daniela had been part of the group that had brought Kyle to the mansion and he seemed to have been avoiding her since, she thought it might be a good idea to make nice with him as much as she could. Still, much to her own chagrin, Kyle freaked her out a bit, so the little witch simply gave him a tiny smile and a wave from the end of the buffet table. The stuff Daniela seemed to be loading up on her plate were mostly baked good; she seemed to have a weakness for pastries and the sort, having a small glazed donut, a few Halloween decorated cookies, a chocolate covered pretzel and a cupcake. "I'm hungry too." she replied to Shana with a small smile as she followed after her until she was standing right next to the punch, carrying her plate on one hand and broom on the other. The tip of Daniela's hat seemed to bob up and down a bit with each step she took, her long scarf following after. "It doesn't smell like it's been spiked." she added, now familiar with the scent of alcohol. "Better check it, though, one time was bad enough, wouldn't want you to get to second base." she replied with a slightly awkward expression and a sigh. "Guys! can we get you anything?" she asked Teena and Laurel with a shout across the room, since they were at the table anyways.

Laurel crinkled her nose when Kyle threw candy at them, sending a glare his way, feeling she didn't need to say anything though, since Teena already did. She looked up at Dani when she heard her yell across the room to them and she shook her head. "No thanks, guys. I'm good, But thanks anyway!" she smiled and yawned. She had shifted some today, which meant she was getting tired faster than usual.

"You should keep your candy to yourself!" repeated Teena to Kyle with the same neutral tone as before, but using overly simplified pronunciation and certainly loud enough voice, since he had expressed his trouble at hearing. She looked at Daniela when she asked about food, but Laurel managed to reply first and she didn't have anything to add, so she just nodded. She picked as many kinds of small bits from her and Vlad's plates as she could and put them in her mouth simultaneously. "Mm, delicious."

After having a bucket of water thrown on his good mood by none other than his bitchy little sister, Vlad entered the party hall on a mission: to eat, drink, and be merry. There was no talking to her and therefore no need to let her further ruin his festive mood. He saw first the minor confrontation between Teena and Kyle, and immediately knew who he wanted to sit with. After all the work it took to get the kid out of their room, he deserved a bit of socializing with the monster responsible. Of course, then Vlad noticed Daniela and his broad grin returned like the power coming on after a storm. "Dani!" he called, waving his big green hand in the air. "You look great!" he said as he grabbed a plate from the end of the table and then looked down the length to see Shana pouring herself a cup of punch. Remembering Valerie's sage advice from earlier, Vlad held onto his empty plate and bypassed the foods that he desperately wanted to eat in order to catch the Zombie Hunter before she had the chance to move away. He approached calmly and took a cup from the stack next to the bowl, as if he too were thirsty and was waiting in line for a drink. "How is your head?" he asked, looking gently down at her so that she could detect his sincerity.

Poking another piece of candy into his mouth, Kyle smiled ever-so-innocently and shrugged-- it was not an apology or even an acknowledgement of what he'd done, but he obviously didn't care much either way. Flashing a slightly more devious grin, the boy did appreciate Laurel's apparent disgust, however. He followed Teena's line of sight back toward Shana and Daniela, then swished the candy side-to-side in his mouth, as if he was using mouthwash, and appeared displeased at what he saw. He could kinda, sorta tolerate Shana, but Daniela just rubbed him the wrong way despite having spent pitifully little time in her presence. Well, at least the feeling was mutual. He quirked a hairless brow at the girl when she cast him a timid wave and he returned the meek greeting with a jerk of his chin, the gestural equivalent to s'up?. His attention shifted to his roommate, who loomed not-so-ominously over the zombie-slayer and witchy girl, and he crunched down hard, pulverizing the treat between his molars, and chewed with his mouth open before gulping the sugary slurry down.

Shana held up her glass of punch, letting some light shine through at while she looked at it, her face screwed up in concentration, as if staring would let her know if it had been spiked. She decided to just trust Daniela, and with a shrug of her shoulders she set the glass down so that she could situate everything in her hands. She managed to get her bat under her shoulder and pick up her plate of food, and just as she started to grab her cup of punch, she heard Vlad's voice right next to her, asking about her tiny head wound. "My... Oh, uh," she started to say, her eyes a little wide for half a second before she blinked and continued, "it's better, I guess. It still stings if I touch it." The girl paused and looked up at the tall Russian, tilting her head a bit to the side and finally remembering their earlier, not-so cheerful encounter in the mall, then added with a tiny frown, "Please don't touch it." Then, turning back toward her cup of punch, she picked it up, careful not to drop either her bat or plate, then spoke once more, this time with a tiny, half-forced smile "Your costume looks good, by the way."

Daniela's face lit up a bit as Vlad appeared, quite fittingly dressed as Frankenstein's monster, she'd gotten used to the big guy as a surrogate brother of sorts, and now her two favorite people in the mansion were together in the same place... even if they were slightly at odds with each other. "Thank you!" she chirped back to the large Russian as he complimented her costume, going slightly red at the cheeks and using the wing of her witches hat to conceal the fact. "You look great yourself!" she replied with a small laugh. "It's rather fitting." continued Daniela, taking her plate on one hand and foregoing the punch for now, since she needed her other hand to carry her broom. As Vlad tried to make peace with Shana, the little witch made her way to the table were Teena and Laurel were. "Hey guys, how's the party so far?" she added, he voice was clearly quieter and not as excited now, as opposed to when she was with Vlad and Shana. As much as she tried, Daniela was still rather shy around most people, specially not that the fact she was wearing a corset in public began hammering at her head, causing her to go red as she sat down at the table.

Daniela's enthusiastic expression wrung a much-needed, beaming grin from the large Frankenstein, and Vlad felt almost instantly a sense of relief. His nerves were less on edge thanks to the warm smile he had earned from the weency witch over several weeks of slowly getting to know her. "Thanks, Dani," he said, tilting his head a bit to the side the way one might if they happened upon something particularly adorable and didn't have the words. She wouldn't know that she had unintentionally cheered him up from the storm cloud he'd had, and was indeed grateful. He nodded to her as she went to entertain herself with Teena and Laurel, giving Franken-Vlad the chance to make nice with someone he'd wronged. Turning his full attention on Shana, he assured her, "I von't. I'm sorry I acted like I didn't care. I guess I vos being an ass." When she began to precariously balance her food, Vlad grinned a bit and lifted the plastic handle to ladle punch into his empty cup. "I had a nice chat vith Valerie though," he began as he set his punch down and started piling food onto his plate for the second time that night. The first plate of goodies was keeping Teena company, and he was more than happy to simply let the girl have it. "She said maybe you ver trying to protect Daniela just like I am, so I'll start giving you more credit," he finished casually, popping a handful of grape tomatoes into his mouth. With two bites, he swallowed and then looked down at Shana with her bat and ink-stain and saucy bit of thigh. "Thanks, you make a great zombie hunter," he said, winking as he recalled his earlier confusion over it in the mall. Once his plate was full, Vlad gave Shana a smile and then nodded to the table with Kyle at it. "I'm going to tend to my roommate a bit," he explained. "Can I reserve a dance vith you later?" he asked, lifting both brows.

Kyle rocked his chair forward, allowing it to plunk back down on all four legs, took a moment to survey the interior of the festively decorated hall, then stood-up. He dropped his left hand down and hooked his thumb on a well-worn belt loop, but, with his right, and in full view of anyone who cared to notice, he reached down to adjust himself through his cut-off jeans. Apparently satisfied, he snagged his other thumb on another belt loop, let his shoulders slump into a coolly careless and poor posture, then stood there a tentative moment. A more highly developed individual might be concerned with trivialities such as looking awkward and feeling starkly out of place, but Kyle was really just trying to recall where the closest crapper was located. He did leave his table covered with crumbs and candy wrappers, and his bed sheet costume was still draped over the back of his chair; perhaps his lack of cleaning-up meant he intended to return to the table. Kyle proceeded to the door and stepped out into the X-Men Hall Complex.

Valerie, with her fingers pulling gently at the lashes, both fake and real, of her left eye, trotted from the Dance Floor, appearing to be in some very mild distress. She exited into the X-Men Hall Complex without acknowledging anyone.

"Uhm," Shana started to say back to Vlad, watching her friend move over to the table with Laurel and Teena, and standing completely still, as if the things she was balancing in her hands were actually a tray full of glass on top of her head. "It's okay. I mean, seems like you've had a bad day, I guess." Hearing that he'd had a conversation with Val, and assuming that had helped him realize just how much of a jerk he'd seemed like in the mall, she smiled up at the big Russian. "Uhm... guess you could say that," the girl replied, the man's words making her think about whether or not she was really protecting her friend. "Yeah, I mean... you're right, I really don't want people giving her flak about anything. Especially the whole slumber party issue." It was pretty obvious that night still haunted her, and Dani, she assumed. "Seems that issue has died down a bit, though, thankfully. And thanks." The scene girl smiled up at Vlad, then cast a glance over to where Kyle was sitting when Vlad mentioned him, then watched the yellow boy stand and make his exit, along with Valerie. "Sure," she answered his question rather absent-mindedly, then her Russian friend's words registered in her head, and her cheeks went bright red. Instead of stammering over her words, however, she kept calm, and was thankful that the light in the room was dim, hoping Vlad couldn't see her flushed skin. "Just lemme know!" With that, Shana of the Dead left her post at the buffet of food and headed over to the same table her friend had gone to, plate and punch in each hand and her bat under her arm. "Hey, guys," she smiled as she sat down beside Daniela, carefully placing her food and drink on the table, and her bat beside her in the floor.

Lucas appeared once again, slightly disheartened at the lack of socialising he had managed as of yet. The social constructs of this place eluded him, as it did with most places granted, but he was surprised at the pace at which Nathan seemed to be making friends. He arrived at the buffet, picking up a single cheese cube, turning to face the tables and popping it in his mouth. He quickly grabbed a cup of water from the dispenser at the end and stood occasionally looking at the table crowded with people. He was unsure whether or not he would be intruding the group and so sipped his beverage in silence.

"The food is terrific!" replied Teena to Daniela. "And I fancied dancing, even though I don't know how to. Vlad taught me a little. ...Is he picking up yet another plate for himself?" After wondering about that for a short moment, she turned back to Daniela. "Neat costume! Are you some specific witch or a regular witch... witch?" She also spoke to Shana when she arrived. "Hello, Shana! I must apologise but I don't recognise your costume..." And finally, she turned to Lucas who seemed to stand around not knowing what to do. Teena made sure that she didn't interrupt anyone before she spoke to him. "Hey, Lucas, was it? Would you like to join us?"

"Yeah..." Vlad sighed in confirmation of Shana's perceptive tidbit about his poor day. His eyes glossed over and left him looking downtrodden for a moment as he recalled Flame and the ass he'd made of himself. The brief darkening was lifted soon however as the bulky Russian paid attention to the rest of what the ponytailed girl had to say. He was snacking from his plate without much care, grabbing sweet and salty items at random and eating them regardless. He nodded as he added another handful of goodies to maintain his plate's full potential of treats. "Hmmmm," he said, remembering the slumber party issue that Shana spoke of, having been victim of the hype himself. "That vos so last month," he joked, waving his hand to clear away any residual awkwardness that still clung to the memory. Just then, Vlad watched Kyle get up and leave the party and sighed, watching his intended quarry get away, followed shortly by Valerie, someone else he was sad to see go. However, Shana grabbed his attention again when she nonchalantly agreed to dance with him, his cheeks rising in a full grin at the subsequent flash of embarrassment that played across her honest face. He smiled and played dumb, knowing all too well that a proud, stubborn type like Shana wouldn't appreciate being called on something so petty. "I vill," he said, looking around for anyone else to chat with. However, with his heavy plate and the taste of potato chips in his mouth, Frankenstein decided to simply make his way over to the table where Teena, Laurel, Daniela, and Shana had all taken seats. Pulling out a chair on the end next to the wee witch, Vlad sat down with his plate of treats and beamed at the whole crowd. "Somevon should gets pictures off all off this," he said, gesturing around with a half-eaten donut between two fingers.

Having overcome whatever issue she'd experienced, Valerie strode back into the room from the hallway, bright and smiling as if nothing had even happened. She beamed winningly at the bustling table of Teena et al. as she glided by-- maybe after another few minutes of dancing she'd take a break for refreshments and visit the group. A briefly confounded look graced her countenance as she spied the candy-wrapper-laden table where Kyle had been sitting, and where his costume still lay draped unceremoniously over his chair, as if he had disappeared into thin air right at that spot. Her mouth screwed over to one side as she looked away and focused again on the X-Men Dance Floor, where Mihir, surprisingly enough, was just standing off to the side, waiting; she redoubled her pace and headed back over to him.

Looking as suspicious as ever, the costumeless Kyle slipped back into the room several calculated moments after Val. As he scanned the room, the boy alternately shifted his weight from one foot to the other, his uneasiness, though mounting, manageable for the time being. Either through consumption or carelessness, most of his pocketed stash had been picked-through and depleted, though he did happen to find a length of red shoelace licorice that he focused on meticulously freeing from the depth of his jeans pocket. This was a peculiarly serene procedure for such a normally sloppy young man, as if he was maybe meditating on the candy. Upon completion of his task, he started tying knots every few inches along the long, skinny confection as he almost too nonchalantly started to wander over toward the only occupied table, either than the buffet, perusing those gathered through scantly narrowed eyes.

As Valerie returned from the complex Vlad's eyes followed her, catching the full-fledged smile she airily tossed at the lot of them at the table. He grinned in volley, chuckling as he watched her stride go from neutral to hurried as she spied her spindly dance partner, Mihir. The sight of him brought up their minor tiff, the memory of which had little effect on his mood, though the reminder of the subject matter (i.e. one lousy sister) did wring a sigh from him. Watching with eyes just on the other side of suspicious, Vlad munched on a handful of chocolate covered pretzels, wondering just how much of a threat the Native was. Frankenstein looked up just in time to see Kyle re-enter the room, devoid of costume and looking particularly unpleasant as he fiddled with his licorice and meandered, swagger-less, with the stink-eye dripping from his acidic face. "Hey Kyle!" he greeted, obviously accustomed to the young man's demeanor. "Glad to see you made it."

Walking on her own for a change, Light came from the game tables, moving across the smooth floor over to the long table of food and drink. Her eyes were, of course, drawn to the table full of people, and a small smile played on her face when she spotted Vlad, recalling that, even though there was no chance she'd even think about hooking up with Vlad, or anything of the sort, she'd made Shade a little jealous just with some in-character costume play with the giant Russian. That had to count for something; either Shade did care about her, or he was rather possessive, neither of which seemed very likely of the boy. Then, catching sight of Shana and Daniela sitting at the table, Light's smile faded and the girl rolled her eyes, turning her gaze away just as she reached the part of the buffet table that held the giant bowl of punch and empty plastic cups. Light stepped around the new student simply standing in the way, and silently picked up two of the clear cups, filling them to the brim with red punch.

Lucas looked up at the mention of his name, "Oh, It would be my pleasure." Lucas smiled, setting aside his lack of socialisation and made his way over to the table where everyone was seated, taking a seat himself.

The door opened from the hall and Addy slipped in, leaning against the wall next to the door. She was breathing heavily and didn't have her crutches, as both were still on the dance floor. Addy looked up again and towards the dance floor, knowing that she still had to make it across the hall. She stayed leaning there for a moment, catching her breath.

A bit overwhelmed by the amount of people around her, Daniela's usual shyness was accentuated by the fact she was in full witch gear. When Teena asked her about her costume, she blushed a little bit and smiled bashfully, "Just a regular.. uhm.. Halloween.. witch." she replied as she took her broom and lifted it up a bit. "With a plastic pet owl." she added in a tiny voice, trying to make a joke before quickly going redder and biting into a cupcake, chewing slowly to justify her silence. As the others sat down and began talking, the girl watched the scenes unfolding around her quietly, with an almost mouse-like quality to her, as a tiny animal trying to figure out her surroundings. The girl nodded to Lucas and Kyle as they approached the table, though only Lucas actually sat down, luckily not next to her, since he didn't know the kid's name. "Uhm.. hi." she chirped along with the others. "Hey.. for once, Vlad isn't surrounded by just girls." she chuckled lightly and then went quiet once more, going a bit red and lowering her hat over her eyes. Her intervention, normal for most people, could be considered an outburst coming from someone like herself surrounded by so many people he didn't know. Being flanked by the two people she did trust in the mansion, though, did give her a bit of confidence. Suddenly, Daniela noticed Light had walked to the buffet table while she had her hat down, "Oh!" she said suddenly with a little jump as she perked up and stretched out her neck to see better over the people sitting on the table. "Light is here! I'm gonna go say hi." she added, mostly to Shana and Vlad. With a little nod, to the others, the girl grabbed her broom and headed to the buffet table once more, nibbling a cookie while her hat and scarf bobbed and bounced with her walk. "Hi, cool costume." she said affably to Light as she approached, with a smile, a wave and a tiny tilt of her head.

"Another plate fo food?" commented Teena to Vlad when he made it back to the table. "Though I do suppose that you can eat it all! Especially if we help you." She then picked a few more cookies from his previous plate and decorated them with sweets before eating them. She gave a curious glance at Kyle as he wandered toward them. She smiled widely when Dani showed her plastic owl. "Aw, it's cute!" When Addy limped in, Teena noticed her and her missing crutches. Teena didn't remember where Addy had left them, so she looked under the table and in its vicinity. Not seeing the crutches, she instead got up. "Please excuse me for a moment." Teena quickly walked over to Addy. "Are you okay, Addy? Do you need help?"

'Made it before you did,' Kyle replied to Vlad through chews of his knotted red shoelace licorice, apparently feeling resentful for who-knows-what reason, or maybe he was just too stubborn or concede to any sort of friendly gesture just this moment, despite, of most of the mansion's residents, he found his roommate largely... tolerable. In turn, he watched Daniela and Teena scamper away from the table toward their respective friends, then looked back to the table with its new vacancies and remaining motley crew of Lucas, Shana, Vlad and Laurel. Selecting a chair-- it could have been Teena's for all he knew-- Kyle drew the chair a couple of feet away from the table, choosing not to sit directly next to anyone. He turned his seat around since sitting in a backwards chair was way cooler than sitting regularly in one, folded his arms upon the top rail. 'How long this shindig goin' for, anyway?' he demanded in a salty tone to the table in general after nestling his chin down on his folded arms.

Addy looked up from where she was leaning. "Um...yes, I do." She gave a weak smile. "I'm trying to make it to my crutches. They're on the dance floor." She looked around the hall for a moment before looking back at Teena. "Doc said no more 'porting until my leg heals." Addy slid down the wall a little, her leg giving out. Limping here wasn't such a good idea after all.

"I see! Well, I can go get them for you." Teena turned away from Addy, took one step and then remembered something, stopped and turned back to her again. "But wait! I could just take you to them! I can just make you weightless and pull you along. Would you be good with that?" She offered Addy her hand.

Camille stepped in through the doors, arriving fashionably later to the party, dressed in a full school girl outfit. The garb had a shiny, satiny look to it, with a lace-up black waist that was attached to a white bra-like short sleeved top, with a short black tie around her neck, and a pleated black skirt that, to some, was probably showing a bit too much leg, and possibly ass, depending on the vantage point. She was wearing a pair of simple black Mary Jane style pumps, and her brown hair was pulled into perfectly smooth pigtails at the base of her skull, with pristine, perfect makeup applied to her eyes, cheeks, and lips, giving her that porn star schoolgirl look. With a glance around the party, Camille spotted her second favorite man in the mansion, and headed over to the table where Vlad and the other girls, and new student, were sitting. "Vladdy-poo!" she cried out cheerily as she threw her arms around the big man, squeezing his shoulders as tightly as she could, which, to the big Russian, probably felt like nothing. "I missed you," the young woman added, completely ignoring the others as she reached around and gave the man a kiss on his cheek.

"Oh, uhm, it's like... a tribute to Shaun of the Dead. Seen that?" Shana replied to Teena after she sat down, explaining her costume thoroughly so that there'd be no questions. Taking a sip of her punch, she added, "It's about zombies. I'm like... the girl version of Shaun. He's a zombie hunter." Spotting a new student standing by the buffet, she gave him a smile and began to wave him over, but stopped when Teena invited him over instead. She watched for a moment as the boy walked over to their table, ready to greet him as soon as he took a seat, but suddenly Vlad appeared in the seat next to her, and with wide eyes, she jerked her head to look at him. "Hi again," she said with a tiny grin, then, not even noticing Valerie and Kyle moving through the hall beyond the crowd of people gathered at the table, she replied to Vlad's statement with, "Ah, crap, I didn't bring my camera or anything. Maybe the teacher's will take pictures for the yearbook or something." Suddenly, Vlad's booming voice sounded next to her, and she squinted one eye and leaned away as the man greeted Kyle, at which point she turned to look at the yellow boy entering the room, and she gave him a big smile and a wave. Hearing Lucas sliding a seat out, she turned to face him and introduced herself. "Name's Shana!" she said with a big grin, holding her hand out for him to shake. "Did you just get here today? I haven't seen you before." Hearing her best friend, Daniela, make a comment about Vlad, Shana turned to look at her, and seeing the girl go red and shield her eyes, she chimed in, "You're right! I think this is the first time I've seen him hang out with another guy." Then, going silent, she turned slowly to look at Vlad with wide eyes, and dramatically, thought jokingly, she asked, "Vlad.... are you... gay?" Shana knew Vlad was straight; she was mostly just trying to play along with Daniela, wanting to keep the girl from being embarrassed, but when Dani announced that she was going to talk to Light, Shana's heart sank a little, and she slumped a bit in her seat, giving her friend a, "'Kay." How was it fair that her own sister hated her guts, but her best friend could be friends with her? Not like she held it against Dani, but it still sucked. With her spirits dampened, she sat quietly as Daniela scampered off to see Light, and watched Teena leave the table as well, heading over to help Addy. Finally, when Kyle sat down, she gave him a small smile and a tiny wave. "Hey, stranger," she said, a little bit more cheerily now, determined not to let anything ruin her night. "Oh, they'll probably send us to our rooms at 11. Still got class tomorrow, and stuff," she replied to the acidic mutant. While she waited for Kyle's reply, suddenly a much too cheery voice chirped beside her, and she leaned away from Vlad, narrowly escaping a hit from Camille's wild arms. Seeing the woman kiss her friend made Shana roll her eyes and give the others a disgusted look, shielded from Camille's view, of course.

Light watched with mild interest as Lucas wandered away from the table, seemingly without even noticing her. That wasn't normal. Men couldn't keep their eyes off her on a daily basis, and in a wedding dress, this one wouldn't even look at her. "Maybe he likes boys," she said quietly, justifying Lucas's actions to herself. Lifting her plastic cup to her lips, the girl took a sip of her punch, then realized she actually hadn't put the Vodka into it yet. Making a face, she looked across the room to see that Shade was still talking to Korvka, and decided she would just wait. Luckily, it seemed like Daniela, someone she actually found tolerable, though not exactly likeable, was going to help her pass the time as she approached. "Hey there, munchkin," Light said as she put her cup back on the table, then pushed herself up onto the table top, sitting down and crossing her legs, leaning back on her arms. "Thanks. Yours isn't so bad, either," she replied to the girls compliment with a tiny, barely noticeable smirk. "Love the corset." Suddenly, Light was distracted from the raven-haired girl when she heard an all-too familiar and annoying squeal of delight as Camille threw her arms around Vlad. The girl scowled; she had been hoping the brunette was going to miss the party, seeing how late she was. "Trouble has arrived," she said quietly, mostly to herself, crossing her arms and locking her eyes on Camille menacingly.

Seated amongst friends with smiling faces and a large heap of nibbles in front of him, the memories of Flame and Korvka were becoming foggier in Vlad‘s mind. When Shana greeted him again, he grinned and shrugged as if to say ‘what can you do?’, gesturing with a nod to his left to where Kyle was no longer standing. He looked over to Daniela as she mentioned her plastic owl adornment and grinned as he noticed the adorable thing perched atop her broom. “You make a great vitch, Daniela! I can’t even tell that…” he suddenly stopped and sucked in his words before he brought attention to the fact that she was wearing a corset, figuring that her modest and retiring nature wouldn’t appreciate having that fact broadcasted in booming detail. Making up for his abrupt cut-off sentence by stuffing half an orange into his mouth, he chewed and reconsidered his words. Wiping his mouth on his sleeve, he amended his statement to, “I mean the whole thing looks nice,” making sure to glance at Shana after he said the last part to compliment her on the corset without actually complimenting the corset. Looking over to Lucas, someone he didn’t remember, Vlad narrowed his brows and nodded up once to catch his attention. “’Allo,” he said, smiling a bit in proper salutation. Once Shana mentioned that she hadn’t brought her camera, Vlad pursed his lips and leaned a bit to the side to dig into his pocket to see if he had brought his cell phone, just remembering that it could snap photographs. When he felt the rectangular plastic brush against his emerald fingertips, Vlad’s face brightened and he brought it above the table. “I didn’t think off it, but I can take pictures vith this,” he explained, setting the black phone flat on the table next to his plate of goodies. “It von’t be yearbook vorthy, but it’ll do.” When Kyle returned Vlad’s greeting with a cool, clever put-down, Vlad just rolled his eyes and chuckled. “But then you left. I think ve are even now,” he said with a grin. After a month of living with the teenage boy’s rude antics, Vlad was relatively certain that Kyle was harmless deep down. Unpleasant, but harmless nevertheless. To Daniela’s comment that Vlad was finally amongst the company of males, Vlad’s laugh barked across the table. Then, when Shana added to the joke by asking him if he preferred the company of men, his cheeks grew round and full as his smile nearly tore his face apart. “Hey, its not my fault this place is filled vith beautiful girls vith great personalities,” he said, defending himself with a hand on his chest to play along with the gag. He bid Daniela goodbye with a huge smile and a wave, but immediately noticed Shana’s less than enthused reaction about her best friend going to talk to her twin. This was hardly the time or place to bring attention to it, but he thought he might ask a bit later if there was something Shana wanted to talk about regarding her sister. He too knew something about having an unpleasant sibling. To Kyle’s harsh demand to know when the party was going to end, Vlad shrugged and looked around in vain for a clock. “Who knows?” he replied, right as Shana was giving a more in-depth explanation. Satisfied that everyone was taken care of for the moment, Vlad returned his attention to his plate of food until he heard a cheery “Vladdy-poo!” from behind him and looked over his shoulder to behold Camille in all her sexy glory. Trying his best not to drool like some sort of sex-hound, Vlad cleared his throat and looked her over once, only once, before gluing his eyes to her beautiful face. “Cami!” he replied as the sound of her heels brought her closer to the table. He couldn’t stop the grin on his face from spreading as she embraced him with, seemingly, all her might. “The feeling is mutual,” he replied, reaching over to another empty table to pull a chair out for her to take. “Fashionably late is alvays fun, you get to make a grand entrance,” he said once her chair was ready for her.

Looking up as Teena inquired, Addy shook her head. "I would rather just wait here if you don't mind." She looked at the floor. Being carried everywhere was really annoying and she was sick of being useless. Mainly she was tired of having to rely on everyone else's powers and not just her own.

"Oh, all right. I'll be right back!" said Teena to Addy. She didn't know why Addy wouldn't want to float with her but didn't think to ask yet. Teena bounced over to X-Men Dance Floor.

Teena wasn't gone long and returned with the crutches. "Here you go!" she said, offering them to Addy. "Do you want to come back to the table? It seems it is rather crowded though." Teena scratched her head as she looked over to the table where it seemed that Kyle had taken her chair.

Addy gave Teena a smile when she brought back her crutches, and glanced to the table where the rest were sitting. Her smile, however, turned into more of a snarl as she saw Camille hanging on Vlad, who didn't seem in a hurry to push her away. Addy didn't know the older woman very well, but as soon as she saw her all over Vlad, she decided she didn't want to get to know her. "No...I think I'm just going to go back upstairs for a bit." Addy really didn't want to be surrounded by people just then, anyway. Or at least that's what she reasoned to herself.

As if it were second nature for her to do so, Valerie sashayed across the room, coming from the direction of the X-Men Dance Floor, but only as fast as Mihir could or wanted to keep up. She wasn't in a rush, but she didn't want to tarry long from the dance floor, either. Maybe she could even convince another couple of students to tag along this time, since her last attempt fell rather short. She glanced at the greater gathering of students who were concentrated around a single table as she sideled up to the spread of food and drink, acknowledged Daniela and Light with a smile, small nod and 'Hiya!' since they were in the same vicinity, then went about the business of pouring herself some water. 'What would you like,' she asked with a sidelone glance to Mihir, having taken two cups, but only filling one.

Kyle made no attempt to hide his blatant scrutinization of Camille when she arrived on the scene and projected her flirtatious greeting upon Vlad. Even as the likely course of the party was explained to him, he watched the unfamiliar girl a moment longer before turning his attention to Shana, in time to catch her eyeroll and less-than-pleased expression. Though he hadn't intentionally taken Teena's chair, he remained steadfastly seated depite her perplexedness, which he didn't notice or was possibly ignoring. 'Not a fan, or you just jealous?' he drawled innocuously enough, though with another obvious and appraising glance at the schoolgirl.

Mihir, who was following Val, also noted the gathered students. Of course, he wanted nothing to do with the table as soon as he spotted Camille. The woman was a fake, and grated on Mihir's nerves. He shook his head and turned back to Val, taking one of the cups with a smile and also pouring water. The more sugar he drank, he noticed that the more combustible he was, so, for tonight, anyway, he would stick with water.

"Munch-kin?" said Daniela, as she wasn't really used to Light's nickname for her, however, she still though it cute. "Ah, thanks!" she replied with a tiny nod of her head as her witch costume was complimented in turn. Slowly, the girl leaned back on the table next to Light, clutching her wooden broom with both hands as the owl bounced a bit from left to right. Next to Light, the girl looked small and shy, "You look beautiful in that dress, by the way." she said, shooting Light a small grin just as Camille walked in through the door. She understood why Light hated the girl, she, for some unfathomable reason, seemed to be after Shade as well, but she'd never done anything to Daniela. Camille, in fact, seemed content to just ignore the Raven haired girl, and as such, it was hard for Daniela to say something bad about her. "She does seem... bold.." she replied, feeling a bit awkward, but not really knowing what else to say. "Soooo.... how's Shade?" she asked, with some derision in her voice, THERE was someone she didn't mind speaking ill of.

Teena smiled at Addy. "Okay then. See you later!" She then walked back to the table and got herself a new chair, sitting next to Lucas. She wasn't exactly thrilled about Camille, but the girl was relatively nice anyway. "Did I miss anything?" she asked and took a few sweets from the plates again.

Lucas smiled and took Shana's hand in his, "A pleasure to meet you, my name is Lucas, I just arrived today and what a day to turn up." He motioned to the hall and the décor, "How long have you been here?" He asked, then turning to smile at Frankenstein. "Hello, nice costume." Lucas nodded, grinning at the bolts.

Grabbing hold of Korvka as they left the tables, Flame linked their arms together as to hold on to her friend. "Start with the stuff you have, then we should blow this place and go into town, can always grab a taxi home if we're too out of it to get back here."

Now arm-in-arm with Flame in a clear display of camaraderie that Korvka shared exclusively with the tall scaled woman, the Russian pirate looked around the party hall boredly. Her stride was considerably faster now that she was linked with someone 7 inches taller than herself, but she caught enough of the scene as they passed it by. She already knew that Light was getting punch and noticed her talking with Daniela, which led her to wonder where Vlad was. A casual pan found the lumbering Frankenstein stuffing his face with none other than Camille. For once, Korvka was happy to know where the girl was and turned a satisfied smirk up to Flame as she talked about getting a taxi. "I don't drink much. After a few shots, votever I haff left in that bottle is all yours," she replied, crossing to the exit and then opening the door. Now that they were out of earshot and well covered by the thumping bass, she added, "and all ve haff to come back for is revenge. Trick and then treats," she said, exiting first through the door to X-Men Hall Complex with Flame in tow.

Kaider walked a little absent-mindedly through the hall, from the game tables to the exit, and went to X-Men Hall Complex.

As Vlad pulled out a chair for her at the table, Camille moved to his other side to take a seat, and in the process, planted another kiss on his opposite cheek. Scooting her chair up to the table, the woman relaxed, crossing her legs and folding her hands in her lap, and gave a quick glance around the area. Spotting Light, standing alone and away from Shade and talking to Daniela, of course, Camille smirked, locking eyes with the staring girl. With a tiny wave to Daniela, the girl turned her attention, and body, away from the two and back to the other students at the table, none of whom she really cared to talk to, except for Lucas, one she'd never seen before and who was quite the looker. "Camille," she said with a smug grin, holding her hand out to Lucas after he'd introduced himself to Shana and completely ignoring the zombie hunter. "Isn't it?" she asked cheerily after Lucas commented Vlad's costume, leaning over and snuggling up to his arm possessively. Across the room, she could see Shade standing alone, and was tempted to make her move right then, but decided it was best to warm up to the others before she ruined the party for the couple. Missing the meaning of Kyle's question towards Shana, Camille piped up, cutting the girl off, "So, who all is gonna join the costume contest? Oh, Kyle, don't you have a costume?"

Shana gripped Lucas' hand firmly, giving him a warm smile as he introduced himself. "Nice to meet you, Lucas. Yep, you came on a good day. You'll probably meet everyone!" Although Shana normally found Camille to be mostly tolerable, at the moment, she was proving to be significantly annoying with her flirtatiousness towards guys. While she slobbered all over Vlad's face, the girl scooted her chair a few inches away, getting herself out of the way from any stray spit that might fly through the air and onto her. After Teena took a seat, Shana just raised her eyebrows and thinned out her lips, putting her chin into one hand and shaking her head 'no' in place of responding with something degrading about Camille. She then started to respond to Kyle's question, when the woman's voice interrupted her, and so Shana simply put her hands between her knees and sat quietly, unable to keep a smile on her face when she glanced up to see her best friend still chatting with her sister.

Light locked eyes with Camille when she looked her way, giving her the most threatening glare she could muster, which consequently sent a few tiny sparks flying from her fingertips, a product of the building hate towards the woman. She was so focused on willing the girl's head to spontaneously combust that she missed Daniela's second compliment, and only after a few seconds did the girl's words sink in. "Thanks," she replied curtly, forcing her posture to relax a bit as the brunette turned away from her gaze. "Bold...," she repeated as she finally tore her eyes away from her worst enemy at the mansion, letting her eyes wander around the party hall while she took another sip of the unfortunately unspiked punch and kept herself from marching right over to the resident slut and electrocuting the life out of her. After a moment, she was distracted by the sound of a slightly familiar, cheery voice greeting both her and Daniela, and after finding the course of the voice to be Valerie, who was being followed by Mihir, Light gave the girl a little upwards nod and a simple, "Hey," back, choosing to mostly ignore Mihir since he'd said nothing. Finally, Light looked back in the direction of where she'd left Shade, catching sight of Korvka and Flame leaving the area, followed shortly by Kaider. "A man," she replied simply to Daniela's inquiry about Shade, swirling the red punch gently around in its clear plastic container with her eyes locked on the boy's. "And dangerously unaccompanied," she added, casting a quick glance in Camille's direction to be sure that she wasn't getting ready to pounce on her prey. "So if you'll excuse me, I need to go protect my dinner before a cougar snatches it up for herself. See ya, kiddo." With that, Light picked up both glasses of punch she had poured and made her way toward the X-Men Game Tables.

Smiling at Mihir, Valerie ventured, 'Something wrong?' after taking a good drink of water and noting the shake of his head. With the cup poised in front of her mouth, she glanced in the direction he where he was just looking and took another sip. From the vantage point of the buffet, she saw a tableful of students enjoying themselves, and could see no issue with that, but the blonde also happened to catch sight of Flame, Korvka and then Kaider departing the premises in short succession. Val's serene and amicable expression wavered a bit, and she hoped they'd return at some point-- there was still fun to be had, wasn't there? Setting the now-empty cup back on the table, she lightly drew the thumb and forefinger of her left hand over her bottom lip, starting at the corners of her mouth and converging in the middle, either checking the state of her lipstick or drying off a bit of water that had settled there. 'Looks like we've got the dance floor to ourselves now,' Valerie candidly commented, noticing first from the corner of her eye Endelyn and Justin's lack of presence in that area. 'Want to go... round up some more people to dance?' she asked, her face expectant, although she had been enjoying her time with Mihir; the dance floor just looked so lonely and empty, and she thought it a shame for the expanse to go to waste.

In the interim, Kyle looked back to Shana, and if he had eyebrows, they'd have been arched in rapt anticipation of her answer. He did not, however, so his freckled, amber forehead furrowed alone as he raised his hairless brow while a half-cocked smile graced his lips. When Camille preempted the other girl's answer, the boy shifted his attention back to the woman to see her dangling off of Vlad's arm. Interesting. Despite being his roommate, Kyle wasn't yet privy to the knowledge that he and Flame had broken-up, though it might explain the awful mood the Russian was in earlier today. 'You a goddamn pimp, Vlad,' he said before answering Camille's questions, half joking and half out of admiration. Shaking his head and chuckling through the first few words, Kyle finally responded to the schoolgirl, 'I got a costume,' he said as he picked dismissively at the sheet draped over his chair, and that he was partially sitting on, 'I ain't enterin' no contest, though.' He finished his sentence with a derisive blast of air through his closed lips and a roll of his eyes.

Lucas smiled in response to Shana, "I'd have hoped so, I'm not exactly the most presumptuous person in the world so that may prove troublesome." Lucas shrugged before taking Camille's hand in his, "Nice to meet you, and indeed so, although too cheerful to be a monster, more like a munster." Lucas grinned, he'd seen the show recently played in a pawn shop selling old tv's, until he was asked to leave.

Catching sight of Flame and Korvka (though mostly the former) as they both left, Vlad smiled sheepishly as Camille planted a smooch on his other cheek and then plopped properly into the chair he'd readied for her. Without meaning to, he wiped his cheek where she'd kissed him with his eyes on the door as it closed on the red scaled devil-woman. He wondered where they were going, but part of him could hear the foul words they were throwing around about him. With Flame pissed off and Korvka acting out it was no wonder their friendship was as strong as ever. Fighting the urge to follow them, Vlad was taken aback at the overt snuggling on Camille's part and casually pulled his arm from her grip. He enjoyed the attention but he certainly didn't need any additional drama. "Thank you!" he said with real gratitude as Lucas complimented his bolts and scars, looking up with brows lifted as if he could actually see his own face. Once Lucas and Shana began their pleasantries, Vlad took notice of Kyle, blurting with laughter at the 'pimp' comment. He looked at Camille and then Shana and then Daniela and then back to Kyle, lifting his shoulders to offer a shrug. "Vot can I say?" he asked with a debonaire, lopsided grin that clearly did not mind the "compliment." Snorting as Kyle explained how he wasn't going to get on the stage and partake in the costume contest, all in a tone that suggested he thought about anyone doing it, Vlad laughed and shook his head, genuinely amused. "Kyle is a funny guy," he explained, mostly for Camille's benefit. Grabbing a biscotti from his plate, he bit it in half and looked to the yellow hairless boy before adding "But I kind off like haffing him around," as he wiped crumbs from the corner of his mouth.

Teena nodded to Shana and didn't seem to pay too much attention to Camille and Vlad – if they started drooling again, she'd tell them to get a room. She looked a little lazily at Kyle as he expressed his enthusiasm about not entering the contest. "Really? Then you won't be able to win anything! But ARE there prizes anyhow? Does anyone know?"

"No," Mihir responded to Val's question. "Just watching the whole group congregating. No one is really trying to mingle with anyone else." He was of course referring to the predisposition of certain individuals to cling to one another. Namely the intrusive female that was eyeing all the men. He shook his head again and shrugged. "But dancing sounds like a plan." Setting his cup aside, he nodded and looked over towards the large group. Then he spotted Addy over by the door. "Maybe someone should invite her to dance, too." Though he wasn't fond of the blue girl, this was a party after all, and Val wanted a crowd on the dance floor.

'Oh! ohmygoodness, I didn't even know she was back!' Valerie said as she glanced to where Mihir indicated, and as if she was responsible for keeping tabs on everyone at all times. She would really like to ask Daniela and Shana to join them, especially since the former was in the vicinity of the buffet, but Val had witnessed an unfortunate and heated exchange between the black-haired girl and Mihir a couple of weeks ago, and was unsure of the status of their relationship. 'You don't mind do you?' she asked, returning her attention to the boy, and as he set his cup on the table, she extended her hand to gently alight her fingertips on the back of his hand. She smiled vaguely while awaiting his reply-- it was terribly difficult to read him, since most of the time he was quite serious, and it appeared that he closing-up again despite the light-heartedness of his demeanor and actions just minutes ago on the dance floor.

"Oh.. well.. bye!" said Daniela in response to Light taking off to meet Shade, the whole, dinner analogy going straight over the girl's head. She stayed by the buffet table, quiet for a bit and trying to straighten out the owl on the top of her broom as she watched Light meet Shade over by the game tables. Korvka, Flame and Mihir also went by in the meantime, all people with whom she didn't have the best relationship with. It was almost like the return to the table where Vlad and Shana were, and hence, safety, was a game of frogger. And the people Daniela didn't get along with were cars. Once it seemed like Mihir was gonna return to the dance floor with Valerie and Korkva and Flame had left the party, the girl quickly made her way to the table were most of the students had congregated, scurrying along the hall like a scared mouse. "Back!" she announced as she sat next to her roommate, two places to the left of Vlad and Camille. "Uhm.. hi." she said to Camille, nodding and giving her a tiny wave and polite smile. Then she repeated the same gesture towards Lucas, without the actual words, since she wasn't sure if she'd said hi to the new students before, she just didn't remember meeting him. "Sooo... what are we up to?" she asked, a bit more confident having her friends close to her.

Teena suddenly dug out her vibrating phone from a very difficult to access pocket and answered it. "Not now! ...What?!" Teena stared at a plate of candy in shock for a moment. "Father... mother?! I, uh..." She got up suddenly and almost knocked over her chair. She looked very briefly at the others. "Excuse me!" she said, sounding worried, and scuttered out of the room and into X-Men Hall Complex while talking into her phone.

Laurel picked her head up from the table where she had drifted off, when Teena made her hasty exit. Her energy sucking shifting was a real pain, she needed to work on that. When she looked around her she realized there where all new people around her. "Wha-?" When she got her barrings she realized she was still at the party. Figuring it was useless to stay at the party if she was falling asleep she stood up. "Uh, See you later guys. Happy Halloween." With a wimpy wave she walked out of the Hall to the X-Men Hall Complex, looking forward to a good nights sleep.

As a song was ending on the dance floor, the loud music was cut short and the room's intercom buzzed to life and a quick announcement was made by Jean: "Attention students, in ten minutes, the costume contest will begin. If you are interested in participating, please make your way to the stage near the games now. Three winners will be chosen by the teaching staff and will receive prizes according to their placement, either first, second, or third. If you are not interested in participating, you are also most welcome to watch. Thank you." Once the announcement was over, the loud music began playing once more.

From here, you can move exit back out to X-Men Hall Complex or move on to either X-Men Dance Floor or X-Men Game Tables.
