About the artist and why this picture was chosen for the daily picture:

When one of his friends asked [RIP - Shade (02/21/05)] to draw something a little less sinister like his usual work and something more fairy-like, this piece was the end result. Modeled after a fellow Elftowner and done with pen and pencil, this is a picture that definately demands your attention! The obvious allure of it aside, though, the attention to the folds of her dress is impressive, and the anatomy is rather well done too, although both [RIP - Shade (02/21/05)] and I agreed that she was rendered a touch too skinny. And, of course, the wings are wonderful, classic, and yet still different in their own fashion, although I still fail to see how her hair could fall like that in between the wings and her back. ^_~

Congratulations, [RIP - Shade (02/21/05)], and keep up the good work!
