Societies Cage...
In Societies cage condemned I stand...
Bars built strong by “Opinion's” hand.
My heinous crime, your toadies thunder…
Was to be myself not just a number.
Through blackened eyes, I plainly see...
My only choice is a guilty plea.
With bleeding ears, I dimly hear...
Others cry in pain and fear.
Despite my broken nose, I smell...
Your rabid dogs outside my cell.
But through all this, I always know...
I will survive to be let go.
On freedoms wings I'll one day fly...
Beyond these bars to clear blue sky.
My shackled feet will someday walk...
Where all your threats are idle talk.
Till then I stand and hide my dreams...
Of sunlit meadows, trees and streams.
