Poetry Corner Theme: Cards
~Card Life Haiku~
Shuffle. Bridge. Shuffle. Bridge. Deal.
That is the life of a card.
Shuffle. Bridge. Shuffle. Deal. Doom.
[
This was on my other art site called Aldoraworld, but it collapsed.]
~Listen to the Siren’s Song~
A sea song that has been sang among many sailors in the oceans and harbors of Aldora:
Listen to the Siren's song.
With glistenin' eyes and scales to envy,
Entrances and delights with just a chorus,
Live your dreams and greatest dreams.
Listen to the Siren's song.
Slaying dragons, riding stallions,
Flying high and leading battalions,
She leads you to a grand adventure.
Listen to the Siren's song.
Luring to a shallow grave,
Once asleep, falling to the darkness of death,
Heed the warning that graves shout so loud,
Don't listen to the Siren's song
The Sirens took the sea song and weaved it into a lullaby to lure the sailors into the deep oceans:
Listen to the Siren's song.
With glistenin' eyes and scales to envy,
Entrances and delights with just a chorus,
Live your dreams and greatest dreams.
Listen to the Siren's song.
Slaying dragons, riding stallions,
Flying high and leading battalions,
I lead you to a grand adventure.
Listen to the Siren's song.
Luring to a shallow grave,
Once asleep, falling to the darkness of death,
Ignore the warning that graves shout so loud,
Listen to the Siren's song
~A Rose~
Tis a rose,
It means more than meets the eye.
Beauty,
Sincere Apology.
The rose is such a wonderful thing.
It showers love, grace, and passion.
Thorns so hurtful pierce the heart.
They make you bleed,
But can help you heal.
Red, yellow, white, black,
whatever you fancy,
Can be found in a single rose.
~Tangled Thorns Haiku~
A beautiful rose,
With petals of sunset red,
Pierces the heart.
~Phoenix Love~
Across the sand of time,
Over plains and oceans,
Lies a love for you to claim.
Fluttering on wings of gold,
She waits for you to take ahold.
No longer does she have to wait,
For Phoenix was reborn,
Into a love that you now hold.
Treat her kindly and you shall see,
The Great Love that lies within.
This could very well be a song....
~Rock This World~
With a sweep of His hand,
He separated land.
With a blow of might,
He gave man life.
With a heavenly glow,
He said, “Where’d you go?”
Then He set up guards,
To protect the garden.
[
~Chorus~]
He came to rock this world,
For all the boys and all the girls.
He came to rock this world,
From the old to the children.
He came to rock this world.
With an angel messenger
He came to this lowly earth
With the voice of a child
He taught the elders
With his mama and papa
He fled to a foreign land
With a heavenly purpose
He returned to his father’s town
[
~Chorus~]
With a tender voice
He calmed the water
With a touch of his fingers
He gave the blind light
With a spoken word
He fed 5,000
With a heavenly burden
He kept on moving
[
~Chorus~]
Down the road of suffering
He walked with humility
With a heavenly Father
He did his duty
With a sinless life
He paid the price
When His time was out
He cried, “It is finished!”
Jesus came to rock this world
For all the sinners’ ‘round the world
Jesus came to rock this world
To pay the price too high for us
He rocked this world
~My Love is Yours~
For my dear,
My love is yours.
Take it now,
Or it will stray,
With unsaid feelings,
Lost from light.
For love is kind,
And patient with you.
The Bible said so,
And in this I trust.
To be with you always,
I pledge to be.
Without you by my side,
I shall die,
For, my dear,
My love is yours.
~Starstruck Haiku~
Shooting stars don't scream
While falling, but God hears them.
Beautiful stars shine.
~Thanksgiving~
The colors changed.
Summer’s gone.
Fall’s the name,
And winter’s on its way.
The days have gone plain.
No more games, you see.
Snow’s a-fallin’.
Turkey’s a-fryin’.
Thanksgiving is what you smell.
Family’s gathering.
Now grandpa is prayin’.
Amen is said and everyone digs in.
Food is good, like always, you see.
For my family has good cooks!
When we finish stuffing our faces,
With sports on the “telly,”
Some fall asleep as others play games.
Maybe even make snowmen in Grandma’s front yard.
Family, friends, and good times
Must wait for another time.
We all go home stuffed and happy with glee.
Not even a month’s wait and Christmas will be here,
Another wonderful holiday to praise God and his son.
Just don’t forget the “Thanks” within Thanksgiving.
~What did I do to you?~
The kisses we shared,
The love I embraced,
Now I’m lost,
Hurt and alone.
You promised to be there.
You said, “I love you,”
Again and again.
You hugged me when I cried.
You ticked me to death.
We thought of forever,
But now you’re gone.
When will you be there?
Moving out, telling lies,
Breaking hearts,
Is that all you’re good for?
You hurt me so bad.
Ripped my hear out,
And thought we could be friends.
You’re gone and I’m alone,
Heart broken and crying,
And all I did was love you.
~Dreamer~
He watches dearly
And whispers in the dark,
“Don’t stop drawing.
Just keep on trying!”
His eyes gleam bright
As he pushes gently
Down the road to greatness.
He watches dearly.
Check out all my work!
