Bridget Hiroko

(Name means "Exalted Generosity")

Age: 19.

Gender: Female

Speciality: Ghost type http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Ghost

Personality: Bridget, a sheltered and pampered young girl, is ever so slightly under developed and naive. She has the personality of a girl possibly 9 years younger due to years of being kept inside by her overly controlling father. Though she is intelligent and logical, it is only by academic means and is as far from being worldly aware and street wise as you could be without having been kept in a cage for your entire life. She is very spoilt and can come across as bratty in the childish sense, her Dad would often through money and presents at her in an attempt to occupy her mind, as opposed to actually spending time with the girl. Not so much arrogant as she is simply oblivious, Bridge can come across as rude at times due to her lack of social skills but is genuinely an inquisitive and playfully nice person.

Appearance: Her stunted personality could be said to have effected her appearance also, as Bridget is a measly 5'2ft in height and 90lbs in weight. With a dreadfully pale complexion and long dark brown hair that seems to further 'whiten' her skin, she is often compared to the ghost pokemon she so adores. Bridget looks almost exactly like her Dad, albeit a female version, and has sharp features, narrow amber eyes, and silky dark brown hair which is often left just to hang down to her elbows. Clothing wise, Bridget is 100% girly, though that could be easily related to the fact her Father believes women should look like women and buys most of her clothes. At the moment she is wearing a white flowy summer's dress with a dark brown cardigan on over it, black tights and black boots with a line of grey fur around the top. You could tell the girl was affluent from her clothing as they are all rather expensive designer items. Bridget also has a fondness for makeup so will always be sporting some sort of eye-shadow or lipstick and is never without black eye-liner and mascara.

History: Born in a comfortable setting, Bridget shows no scars of the world and led a pretty normal life, albeit be it one without a mother. Her Father, Isaac, is a prominent member in Team Rocket, though what role she doesn't know and doesn't really want to know, and due to this rarely saw him. He gave her Duskull for her 10th birthday which soon became her best friend, though the Duskull is purely a pet and not used for battling. Despite seemingly having everything she could want when it came to clothes and home, Bridge was extremely lonely most of the time, something which attracted the legendary pokemon Mew. She loves her Dad dearly, and somewhere deep within the black space the man calls a heart, he probably has some love for her as well.

Bridget is currently 'on the run', so to speak. She never really gave much thought to venturing outside on her own, that was until Mew darted off into the woods during a game of tag and she followed. Determined to win for once, she ended up so far in the woods that she didn't know the way back - and from there, being lost turned into running away in search of adventure. She is hell bent on exploring the world with her pokemon, though her lackluster personality means she is a bit oblivious to the fact her Father may be looking for her and wondering where she is.

Pokémon:

Mew (Genderless) : http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Mew
Why Mew chose her: Being a sincere and somewhat playful pokemon itself, Mew heard Bridget before it felt her presence. Attracted by a sweet lullaby the girl was singing to her Duskull, Mew appeared before her and prompted a game of tag. Mew feels at kine with the naive and innocent heart of Bridget, but was also drawn to her by the deep loneliness it felt from the young woman and intends to stay with Bridget until that sadness is gone. Though Bridget is a ghost type user, Mew is psychic, however, due to the fact Mew can learn every move (including ghost types), it means Bridge doesn't have to struggle too hard when user it in battle. (Though it's pretty difficult to make the curious pokemon actually follow orders for too long :P)

Duskull (Male) : http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Duskull
Dusky is Bridget's favourite and is not really used in battles, though he does defend her with savage affection, stalking anyone who hurts her and generally making their lives hell. Relentless in his fondness for his owner, he has a habit of accidentally using confuse ray when happy or being cuddled. He has an impish nature.

Froslass (Female) : http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Froslass
Being Bridget's most powerful pokemon, Froslass is her go to companion when it comes to battles. She has also been with Bridget since she was a mere level 5 Snorunt, hatching from an egg that Bridge found during a holiday with her Father in the icy caverns North of their home. Froslass has a sassy nature and see's her owner somewhat like her own child.

Ghastly (Male) : http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Ghastly
Bridget adores Ghastly and could have been considered a bit obsessed as a child, with Ghastly PJ's, Ghastly bed covers and Ghastly wall paper. Due to this love, she is adamant on not letting him evolve until he is perfectly ready. He may not be as strong as he could be, but Bridge just adores the little smoky ball of adorableness. Ghastly has a docile nature, hence he is happy so long as his owner is happy.

Banette (Male) : http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Banette
Banette is her second strongest pokemon and followed Bridget home one day, then never left. As a Shuppet, it stalked her after she'd had an argument with her Dad but then found itself taken in by the free food and free hospitality. His lax meant he remained with Bridget until he evolve into a Banette, now he is pretty taken with her. Banette and Dusky don't see eye to eye and are constantly battling for Bridget's attention and affections.

Sableye (Female) : http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Sableye
The newest pokemon to her team, Sableye has yet to warm to Bridget and is pretty unsure around her. She has a careful nature and thus is hesitant to let her guard down too quickly.

Return to Pokémon relativity

It was just going to be one of ‘those’ days, Bridget thought to herself as she sat hunched over at the breakfast table – hands neatly clasped on her lap and face currently hidden behind a waterfall of dark hair. The tension in the room burnt with the fire that could only be related to a Rapadash’s coat and the young girl, nearly having left her teenage years behind, merely buckled under the pressure and sat still like a scolded 5 year old.

“You must understand, Bridge?” The man, sitting across the table, had his arms crossed and face set into a stony expression, amber eyes narrowed in frustration as he stared at his disobedient daughter. “The world isn’t as forgiving as I am,” a twitch of the left eye suggested he’d chosen to ignore the girls bitter chuckle at his use of the word ‘forgiving’. “These little games you play need to stop, you wandered too far last time and nearly got into trouble, do you have a death wish?”

“But Dad!” Bridget finally looked up and tossed her shield of hair out of her line of sight. “I was only looking around the city nearby, AND I had my Pokemon with me-“ her sentence was cut short as Isaac shot her a nasty look and placed his hand threatening close to her on the table, his fingers lacing outwards as if preparing to suddenly latch around her throat.

“Only looking, Bridge, you always work in ‘only’ and never look at things in a logical and rational manner,” Isaac’s voice went a bit higher than its usual monotonous monotone manner, though it was quickly remedied by a clearing of the throat and changing of posture. “But you are just a child and it is to be expected.”

Bridget visibly tensed and then gritted her teeth. Opening her mouth and about to say something stupid, the young trainer felt a tug on her cardigan and thus looked down at her beloved Duskill. The creature knew his master like he knew himself and therefore aimed to stop whatever silly rant she was about to give, knowing that Isaac would only worsen her punishment if she started giving him backtalk. “I’m sorry,” she finally muttered in a tone which suggested she wasn’t actually sorry, just willing to roll over in submission and accept whatever reprimand he offered.

“Good,” Isaac re-crossed his arms as he spoke, his weathered and pale featured now twisted into a mask of indifference as he accepted his daughter’s less than sincere apology. “Now I have matters which need to be attended to, I trust you will remain here until I return?” Pushing off of the table, her Father rose quickly and swept a hand through his greyish dark hair. “There will be consequences for your actions but I have yet to decide the nature of them,” his words drowned off as he threw on a black military style coat and fedora hat – Bridget had always thought it made him look a bit like a hit-man. “So as of now,” he continued with the speech that lacked any paternal value, “you are to stay in the house and think about how you plan on developing and a lady, because the world doesn’t care for an insolent little girl who still runs away at the age of 16.” And with that, Isaac left the kitchen.

"I'm going to be 20, not 16," she whispered, her grip unintentionally tightening around Dusky and bringing him closer into her chest. The little thing cast it's single red eye upwards in response and then buried his face into the opening of her cardigan, the soft material of the dress she word underneath tickling at the edges of his mask-like-face. “Well then, Dusky,” Bridget lifted said Pokemon off her lap as she stood up from the table and marched into the large lounge area. “Since we can’t play outside should we play in here?” A smile formed on her face as her pet let out an odd happy noise, ripping from her grip and floating around the room, its speed slowly increasing. “Well, I’m not sure tag is a good idea when inside the house,” she chuckled as Dusky stopped roaming around; now aware she wasn’t pursuing him. “But how about we watch some horror movies? You know you love it when the token dumb female character breaks down crying.” A loud ‘nurr’ was sent her away as the Duskull floated off upstairs towards her room, intending to retrieve something no doubt. Bridget was left standing alone in the room and promptly hung her head, hardly delighting in the silence the house brought. But then, it had always been like this, and her Father wondered why she liked to play outside – was he oblivious to the coldness of the building, or did he just not feel it?

There was a blasting noise from upstairs followed by the shriek of a Pokémon, a sound which instantly sent the girl running up the stairs and too her room. However, before she could open the door she felt a large mass run into her legs and grip them tightly. “Banette?” The purple creature rubbing it’s face into her knees and then began to climb her form, hunting to be embraced, shaking all over – though only another Pokémon would be able to label the Banette as acting. “Dusky, what have I told you about scaring him?” Bridget let the doll like creature clamber up her body and wriggle its way into her arms, only able to hold the all too ‘heavy’ thing due to it gripping onto her. Duskill snorted and then flared up in indignation as he watched Banette send him a cheeky grin, as if to say ‘my trainer’.

"Come on you two, we're in this, togetheeeeeer~" Now singing, Bridget spun around in a circle with Banette, cradling his spindly body like that of a baby. “BANETTE, BAN BAN,” he cooed backwards, enjoying her little song though she hardly had the voice of a Lapras. Duskull, watching the loving little game, floated over and landed on Bridget’s head, hugging it with his ghosty black hands. "Lullaby and good night, with roses bedight," her voice shuddered a little and she chuckled as Dusky accidentally covered her eyes with his hands. "With lilies o'er spread, is baby's wee bed~" Bridget, not knowing the rest of the words to the lullaby, just began to hum the remainder of the tune for her little Pokemon. “Hmm, hmmmm mmmm~”

Mmmm mmmm mmm...

The girl froze on the spot when she heard what sounded like an echo of her own humming. “Hello?” Standing stock still, Bridget looked down to Banette and then up to Duskull, both looked as confused as she was. “HELLO?” Trying not to lose her nerve, she did a full 360 of the room in an attempt to find the source of the weird humming.

“Dus, DUSK!” Dusky flew off of her head and began to patrol the perimeter of her bedroom, his red eye flickering around his face. Banette soon jumped from her arms and followed in suit, the two Pokémon now on alert and intending to defend their trainer. Bridget tugged at the left sleeve of her cardigan, trying to remove the wrinkles Banette’s claws had made, she was extremely confused by the noise and would have put it down to her stupid ears had her friends not heard it as well.

“How strange,” she spoke to herself, voice airy and flighty. She felt something nuzzle against her leg and slowly bent down so she could rub her Pokémon’s head. However, as soon as her hand connected she saw Duskull and Banette at the window – pressing against it in hunt for the intruder. “Wait,” looking down, the air left Bridget's lungs as her eyes landed upon a strange pink creature looking up at her, rubbing its head into her palm.

Instantly ripping her hand back, Bridget backed off far enough that her back hit the wall, the force knocking a few books from the shelves that now adorned either side of her. Was this Pokémon dangerous? She’d certainly never seen anything like it before. “Dusky, Banette,” calling her companions was pointless as they had already ran to her side, snarling and growling at the odd pink creature.

“Mew?” The little mouse type thing said, floating up into the air and whipping its tail around like a dog that was getting a bit excited. Flipping left and right, it slowly began to approach them and then back off, only to repeat the process a few times. When Bridget failed to respond, it let out a high pitched ‘MEW’ and then bolted at her – only to pull away at the last minute and tap her on the head with its long tail.

“Ow, why you little,” Bridget made a grab for the thing’s tail and then began to chase it around the room, anger being furthered by the creatures little giggles every time she failed to snare it. “Mew, is that your name, Mew?” ‘Mew’ looked back at her for a second and tilted it’s held up and down, she’d take that as a yes. It then began to circle around Banette and Duskull, prompting then to begin chasing it as well. If Bridget didn’t know better, she’d say they were playing a game of tag.

After a few more minutes of the little game, the young trainer dropped to her knees and tried to catch her breath. “M-Mew,” she waved a hand to catch the Pokémon’s attention, just in case its name wasn’t enough. “Why are you-,” Bridget stopped and then hung her head, HA, as if a wild Pokémon could understand her.

2012-02-06 [Sideways]: Um... Nice, so I can not follow the rules too? Win!
* goes to make a fire/electric guy who has a Kabutops. *

2012-02-06 [Rice]: Pardon?

2012-02-06 [Aeolynn]: No attacking. If you guys have an issue please PM me and don't deal with it in the comments.

2012-02-07 [Aeolynn]: However, rice, I do have an issue with two things in your bio. One is the type. You have to choose one: meaning you can't have two types you follow, it is either psychic or ghost. The second is Aerodactyl is neither of those.

2012-02-07 [Rice]: Is that okay? I wanted to stick with Ghost Pokemon since they are my favourites, and Mew is psychic, but is my reasoning okay? :)

2012-02-07 [Rice]: <img:http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/thumb/e/e2/355Duskull.png/150px-355Duskull.png> IT'S SO CUTE OMG <3 ..... *dies* I love Duskull, and when I think about it, he would make a better pet for Bridget since they actually look similar. It would be 'When your pokemon resembles you' situation.

2012-02-07 [Rice]: I have a plush of Duskull *such a freak*

2012-02-09 [Aeolynn]: Very nice so far!

2012-02-09 [Rice]: Thank you, is there a word limit? I don't want to write too much since I know it can be hella boring reading through long stories >_>

2012-02-09 [Aeolynn]: Nah, write as much as you'd like

2012-02-10 [Sideways]: But duskull has two eyes, right? I thought if was dusclops that had one... Eh, just nitpicking... Good story!

2012-02-10 [Rice]: He has two eyes but only one has a red orb in it, the other is just a black hole, so, you'd only notice the red orb floating around when he looks at things. Because he is just THAT cute.

God I love Duskull, if I saw one...I'd just hug it to death.

2012-02-10 [Aeolynn]: lol
