3. Upon the Silent Wings

Cold the ice upon the rocks, the snow upon the peaks,
Deep the Skies of frosted stars, yet the Lights of Gods do Shine.
Ribbons of ghostly fire weave silent in the night,
Yet against the fires are shadows in the airs, silent in the night.
Great heads stretch forth upon slender necks, a line of shadowed beasts,
and Wings of leathery scales unfurl on the wind.
Long, long the traces from harness to harness, till at the end there rides,
a great Odin Sleigh, shimmering with fires of might.
To Each of You a deep deep night, of rest and peace and joy,
but always know that Santa comes in guises older than the snow.

In the darkness of a night
There is a man whose out of sight
He comes in goes without a sound
As he travels all around
He is the keeper of the elves
With toys upon all his shelves
He's knows if you've been naughty or nice
And has a list that he checks twice
He visits every girl and boy
Whose been good and full of joy
But if you've been really bad
This year you'll be the one whose sad
