2014-08-30 [Ms. Steel]: Located in the northwest corner of the Compound, the Archives is an annex of the Compound: Library, and is decorated in the same dark-wood-and-antiqued-brass fashion of the larger room it is connected to by way of a set of double doors. It is a cozy two-story chamber for rare and antique books, documents and other ephemera, with sliding ladders attached to rails along each wall of books for easy access to both the higher shelves and to the second story of the Archives. In the far back corner are a couple of tall windows, but the majority of the lights in the room is provided by a couple of brass pendant lights and wall sconces.
