Library Balcony

2014-08-30 [Ms. Steel]: Overlooking the ground floor of the Compound: Library, the Balcony offers a quiet area to read, perform research or simply tool around on a computer, and it is accessible by a spiral staircase near the Archives. At the right time of day, the windows on the western wall provide a warm light by which to read, which is supplemented by wall-mounted sconces and floor lamps once the sun goes down. Tables and shelves stocked with periodicals and magazines available for perusal are intermittently placed among comfortable leather- and jacquard-upholstered couches and chairs. A catwalk also leads to the second floor of the Compound: Archives.
