About the artist and why this picture was chosen for the daily picture:

How long does it take to draw a phenomenal dragon? Apparantly, for [saueracker], half of an hour is all you need. She spent all of thirty minutes on this excellent winged beast, which she calls a "doodle" and "sketch." Simply amazing how talent can just ooze right out of someone's pencil with such ease. One day, she was just surfing through some pictures on the Net when she decided that she wanted to have drawn a dragon, too, like so many others have. They're her absolute favourite mythological creature, because they're so, um...cute and cuddly. (She says it's a scales thing: "Anything with scales is cute!") Perhaps not a conventional line of thinking, but a good line of thinking all the same. I, personally, might not think he's exactly cute and cuddly, but he is undoubtably majestic and noble, perhaps a litlte curious, too, by that crook in his neck. It's just a beautifully composed dragon, from the scales on its back to the impressive wingspan.
