DORMITORY 301
Eleanor A. Hayes's room

Even though she arrived with little in the way of possessions, Eleanor sure seemed to have made an absolute mess of her side of the room, even in the short time she'd been at the Mansion. Various pieces of clothing were strewn on the floor, desk, and even on her bed, which was never, ever made. A variety of pictures ripped from publications as varied as Rolling Stone to National Geographic were thumb-tacked and taped to the walls. If nobody came after her about her general untidiness, it was likely to only get worse.

Ruby's side of the room was an entirely different world. Everything was clean and spotless, the bed was tidy and mostly clean other than the fact that it was also never made. All of the clothes was in the closet and folded neatly. The desk however was just as untidy with papers and maps of the surrounding areas strewn all across it. There was even signs that a hawk or some other large bird was using it as a perch. The walls were bare since clearly the other side had enough pictures for both sides.

X-Men Time

Monday, May 25th

On her bed, lying flat on her back, was Eleanor, one arm draped over her eyes, the other stretched out along her side, her fingers tapping on the rumpled bedsheets to the beat of the music blaring from her headphones. If the girl always listened to her music at that volume, she'd probably be deaf by the age of thirty. She was dressed in an oversized, faded black tee shirt and a pair of magenta leopard print panties, and she seemed blissfully unaware of anything happening outside of her sphere.

The sound of running water could softly be heard through the mostly-closed bathroom door. Steamed curled between the edge of the door and the jamb. Apparently someone was taking a shower.

Ruby sat cross legged on her bed with her eyes closed, showing every sign that she was controlling an animal. She wore her usual random assortment of clothes, a pure black t-shirt, and loose blue jeans. Just like her roommate, she was completely unaware of anything else that might be going on around her.

With a languid movement of the arm resting over her eyes, Eleanor dropped her hand and turned the volume down on her iPod, which sat nestled somewhere between her leg and the rumpled bed sheet, then returned her arm so that it covered her eyes once more. As this happened, the whine of the shower died-down and finally ceased. A few more minutes passed before Eleanor also emerged from behind the bathroom door, freshly showered and wearing a black bandeau-style two-piece bathing suit that was shot vertically with neon pink pinstripes. Except for a few wily sprigs by her ears and a curl in the middle of her forehead, her hair was mostly hidden beneath a black bandana, and a towel was already slung over her shoulders. Slipping her feet into a beaten pair of Chucks, El grabbed a pair of cat's eye glasses, a bottle of sunscreen and her phone before slipping out into X-Men West 3rd with nary a glance of acknowledgement to Ruby or herself.

Ruby opened her eyes and rubbed them gently as if to wipe away the look of just waking up. Even though she wasnt actually asleep, her body was numb so she stood up and stretched to get her blood flowing again. She than remembered that there was a party going on outside so she quickly walked to the door, ignoring the Eleanor clone and walked into X-Men West 3rd.

Rage walked through the door and then paused as she stared at the contents. "What the fuck is this!?!?!" She exclaimed as she tried to comprehend that all of her stuff was gone and replaced by some other person's things. "Where the hell is my stuff? Danger!" She yelled up at the ceiling.

Ruby heard Rage yell right as they entered the room and quickly responded. "Whoa whoa whoa! Your things?! This is my room, has been for 5 months now! Are you sure you are in the right room?"

The girl reclining on the bed stirred when Rage burst into the room and started make a ruckus. It took a prolonged moment for Eleanor to actually sit-up, however, and pull her oversized headphones down off of her ears so that they rested around her neck. 'Whaaa...?' she said, rubbing the sleep from her eyes as she swung her legs around so they dangled off of the edge of the bed. 'Hold yer horses, lady...' she said around a yawn, and then, 'Ruby, the hell is this?' gesturing toward Rage as she yawned again.

That was a stupid question. Rage thought to herself as she turned to stared critically down at Ruby. "No, I'm not sure. I have habit of walking into random bedrooms and demanding to know where my stuff is." She replied sarcastically before forcing herself to take a deep breath. She was more confused over irritated, she'd left several, very valuable articles in the room and she was loath to lose them. "I've only been gone 5 months. Jeez, what the hell did they do give my room away the day after I left?" She said as she shot a glance towards Eleanor.

"Well I have no idea whats going on, I assumed the room as empty since the letter I got at the entrance gate when I first showed up told me that this was my assigned room, and nobody contested it." Ruby replied. She than thought for a moment, and looked up as though she was addressing the ceiling. "Danger, can you look up any records pertaining to Rage and see why her room was given up and handed to us. Also figure out where her room is at now if you can please."

There was a long pause before Danger's voice appeared, seemingly emanating from nowhere. "My records indicate that Sarah Criss left the mansion of her own accord on December 23rd of last year. As of her arrival back to the mansion, Sarah Criss has been relocated to Dormitory 304"

Slouching her shoulders, Eleanor let her gaze ping-pong between Rage and Ruby, and returned the former's pointed look in a similar, if somewhat mocking, fashion. She grimaced when Danger spoke-- she still wasn't accustomed to that-- but grinned wickedly at Rage and pointed to the ceiling when the AI was through speaking. 'See? Creepy lady robot overlord says it's not your room anymore!' Her feet swung back and forth as her legs dangled over the edge of the bed in eager anticipation to Rage's reaction, as she was figuring that was not what this stranger was hoping to hear.

"I was only gone 5 freaking months. Jeez it's like people have never heard of a vacation." Rage muttered to herself as she whirled on her heel and stalked out of the room, ignoring the occupants. Her winds were also agitated and her bag slammed against the wall before following after her into X-Men West 3rd, her wind slamming the door shut behind her.

"Well that was interesting." Ruby said. "I should probably chase after her and make sure shes not too upset. Its not really our fault that the room assignments tend to get rearranged." She said as she chucked quietly. "Besides I'm sure you have enough things to focus your attention on, so I'll leave you alone, and hopefully I'll make it to the pool party shortly." She quickly followed Rage back out into X-Men West 3rd.

To be honest, the scenario was a bit of a letdown for Eleanor, and she puckered her lips and wrinkled her freckled nose up as Rage left in a huff. She blew a raspberry between her lips and she shrugged half-heartedly to Ruby. She uttered, 'Whatever,' before flopping back onto her bed and slipping her headphones back onto her ears as her roommate also left.

Ruby came back into the room after only a few minutes of being out in the hall and silently dropped down onto her bed without even paying the slightest attention to Eleanor and closed her eyes. It took everything in her power to not have a panic attack due to the threats and cruel treatment of the girl she will now refer to as "The Bitch".

After several minutes, Ruby opened her eyes and looked out the window. At that point she noticed a lone red tailed hawk flying around X-Men Grounds. She closed her eyes again and focused her mind on the hawk. As her mind left her body it slumped down onto her bed and stopped moving, with barely any signs of life at all.

A loud, firm knock came from outside the door.

Eleanor twitched in the bed, then lay still. After a moment, El twitched again then sat up very slowly, swung her legs around and her bare feet smacked on the floor. She wasn't exactly dressed to answer the door, but either she didn't care or didn't remember. Opening the door just a crack to peek outside, the young woman asked, 'Yeeeeeees?' in a rather cloying manner. There was an exchange between she and somebody in the hallway that ended in El sneezing and suddenly poofing into a cloud of dusty nothingness.

After a few moments Helix walked in, stepping over the remaining dust of Eleanor, and walked over to Ruby's bed. He knew from the past experiences with his sister that there was really only one way to wake her up from her animal control power. He picked her up with both arms and lifted her about 3 feet from the top of the bed and dropped her, using the strong sense of falling from the sky awaken her.

Ruby immediately woke up with a startled fright, and was just about to attack Helix but noticed right as she was throwing her punch that it was her brother. She stopped the punch literally an inch from his smug face, and narrowed her eyes slightly. "Well hello brother. Long time no see, did you come to "protect" me from the pool party?" She said with obvious sarcasm.

Helix didnt even flinch the slightest bit when Ruby threw her punch. He knew that even if she hit him it would probably be like a mosquito bite, she never was physically strong after all. He smiled and responded to her question. "No no, not at all. I was just sitting at home and suddenly felt that you were...well..not doing well here. So I figured Id come by and check on you. It wasnt until I was half way here that I realized that I could suddenly understand everything that was going on around me, even beyond my own sight and hearing. Its hard to explain, but needless to say I think I am a mutant as well, just like you."

"Wait wait wait!" Ruby cut in before he could finish what he was saying. "Are you telling me that you, someone that has always had what he wanted and never even had a care in the world about how he was going to survive, have a power that suddenly just showed up? How much money did you spend on your power? Or better yet, who the hell did you steal from to get it?" She knew her words were probably uncalled for, but he was right about her not doing well here on her own, and she just needed someone to vent on.

Helix knew that she didnt really mean her words, he could feel deep down in her heart that she was just trying to vent. Without a word he just bent down and hugged her. He needed to show her that he was there to comfort and help her. Not just be there to embarrass her or get in her way or whatever.

Before Ruby could continue venting, her brother hugged her. She wasnt sure if it was more comforting or just annoying, but she knew his heart was in the right place. All he was trying to do was help her, just like he always did. She let him hug her for a few moments before pulling away. "Well at least you came to the right place if you want somewhere to go where people wont look at you stupid for being who you are. There are plenty of people here who could probably make even you look poor." She chuckled and leaned back against the wall.

"Hehe yeah, Im pretty sure I met someone like that down in the garage when I pulled in. Some people here sure know how to dress for the summer that's for sure." Helix smirked as he remembered his earlier encounter with the 3 other girls.

"Oh God, please tell me you didnt drive your Dagger GT all the way here?.." Ruby said with a half curious, half worried look on her face.

"Oh hellz no." Helix responded. "That thing is built for street racing not cross country driving. Even I cringe at the thought of how much gas that thing would take for such a long journey, besides Id probably only be in Utah by now with how many times Id have to stop to fill up for gas. I brought my Corvette instead."

"Ah I see." Ruby said. "Well either way, Im glad you are here. Ive really needed someone I can talk to that understands me, it seems like all I do here is cause people to dislike me or find me a burden. So far my roommate, Eleanor seems to be my only real friend...I think."

"Well maybe youd make more human friends if you would stop spending so much time as a wild animal. Their lives are starting to rub off on you. I think its time for you to start living as a human and make some real friends here." Helix said.

"Well I would if people would just try to be nice to me. I am only 14, its not like I know how to do all the fancy cool shit other people can do. Im just doing my best to fit it, but its hard when those animal instincts tend to take over sometimes and cause me to lash out for unreasonable reasons." Ruby replied.

"Well stop spending time as animals and be a human for awhile. Get your 'land legs' back as it were." Helix said. "Hm, how about this. Come down to the pool party with me. I'll make sure nobody picks on you, lets just try to have fun and make the most of this day, ok?"

"Ok, I guess its time for me to get out there anyways. Im sure Eleanor is wondering why I havent bothered to show my face yet." Ruby said with a chuckle as she headed for the door and immediately entered X-Men West 3rd.

Before Helix could respond his sister was already out the door. All he could do was follow her out to the X-Men West 3rd.

2014-05-12 [Vhnori Valmos]: Lol, yeah, well we will just have to wait and see. ^^

2014-05-12 [Ms. Steel]: This is very riveting

2014-05-13 [Lirerial]: So does Rage get to barge in thinking this is her room?

2014-05-13 [The Black Goat]: izzy too, because nothing pisses her off more than her personal space having been violated or her things touched XD

2014-05-13 [Ms. Steel]: ha ha... sure! :-D

2014-05-13 [Vhnori Valmos]: Although the only person in the room is Eleanors clone, lol.

2014-05-13 [Vhnori Valmos]: ....Or was the clone the one that left? XD

2014-05-13 [Ms. Steel]: WE MAY NEVER KNOW

2014-05-14 [Vhnori Valmos]: I'll have to wait for Rage and Nora to respond. I dont want to get in too many posts before everybody else, lol.

2014-05-14 [Ms. Steel]: Nora isn't with them anymore.

2014-05-14 [Vhnori Valmos]: Oh right, my bad, lol. Its early morning...I still have to wait for Rage though.

2014-05-14 [Ms. Steel]: Yeeeeah. :-)

2014-05-14 [Lirerial]: I'm debating whether I should wait on Danger since Rage has no clue where her new room is

2014-05-14 [Vhnori Valmos]: I think it would be more interesting if Rage, Ruby and Eleanor has a conversation about whats happened in the last few months to kinda explain whey they are in that room. Danger is intelligent and could just stay quiet until things calm down, than respond to tell Rage where her new room is.

2014-05-15 [Vhnori Valmos]: Creepy lady robot overlord. Thats one im going to have to remember, lol

2014-05-22 [Vhnori Valmos]: Btw Eleanor will have to answer the door since Ruby is more or less incapable of hearing or for that matter answering the door, lol.

2014-05-22 [Ms. Steel]: kaaaay.

2014-05-22 [Ms. Steel]: Will get to it in a bit.

2014-05-23 [Vhnori Valmos]: I'll update their conversation in greater detail a bit later, my friends are dragging me to the Xmen Days of Future Past opening, lol

2014-05-23 [Figgy]: lucky :/

2014-05-31 [Vhnori Valmos]: Ok so Ive pretty much hit writers block on the convo between my two chars, so either I will have to wait until my creativity comes back, or just move on with them and leave their conversation open to whatever interpretation other people wishes to assume, lol.
