Welcome to the

Dragon Writing and Art Tournament

This is a tournament for writers of prose, poetry, or any other kind of writing. The theme for this tournament is:

[Dragons]

As I'm sure you've probably guessed from the title, the them for this tournament is the Dragon, the great mythical flying serpent. I don't really care whether or not what you write has to do entirely with dragons or not, just so long as there's something about dragons in there. Even if it's only a description of them or something, it counts, though you'll get more points if your entire work has to do with dragons.

The rules for this tournament were originally posted for the Elftown Dreamer's Contest, and are as follows:

1. NO STEALING!
All submitted works must be created by you. No exceptions!

2. SUBMISSIONS:
Each member may submit up to two entries.

3. SUBJECT MATTER:
Works will not be accepted if they feature excessive violence, adult material, disturbing actions or insults, offensive and/or hateful materials. Elftown is an all-age site.

4. IDENTICAL TITLES:
This can happen with creative works. This is acceptable, because the creator's name will be different and posted with their entry.

5. OUR EXPECTATIONS:
We expect an extensive variety of art, writings, and photo manipulations derived from all sorts of dragon lovers in Elftown. Create an art piece or photo-manip, write a poem or story about your dragons and enter!

7. OLD OR NEW WORKS?
If you have written a story or a poem or have created an art piece that fits this theme, old or new, you are welcome to submit it here as long as it is not currently running in any official Elftown contest (except the Elftown Creature Marathon it is ok if it's in that), and it has never won an official Elftown competition. However, Photo Manipulations must be newly created to match the criteria specified.

8. FOLLOW THE THEME:
All entries not following the theme will be disqualified. The Theme is listed above.

9. VOTE BEGGING:
Participants are not allowed to beg for votes for their own entry. Do not ask people to vote for your entry via private messages, guestbook messages, moods, wikis, or by any other means. Your entry will be disqualified if you are caught doing so. It is perfectly fine to advertise THE POLL, however.

10. VIOLATIONS:
If you feel any of the entries break the rules, please speak up before the entries make it to the polls. You can still speak up even after the contest is closed, as long as the polls have not yet gone up. Complaints received after the aforementioned will not be considered valid.

11. COMMENT SECTION:
Please limit comments in sections affiliated with this contest to questions and answers regarding this contest. However, we know some would like to chat further about their dragons and so we have made a chat wiki available where you can discuss whatever dragons and things you would like to: <forum:secret forum> <--Stuff of Dragons.

12. HAVE FUN!
Those caught not having fun will be whipped.

To submit, put each separate entry on its own wiki-page, then go to the Dragon Writing and Art Tournament Submissions page, and link them there in the list, along with your username, type of entry (e.g. prose, poetry, art, ect.), and a short description. If you have multiple entries, then you must put up multiple links.
