Greetings, and welcome to Elftown's official 'Mood Contest'!
Please read the [#SPECIFICS] before entering!

<img:stuff/2237_wiki_help_9y7vcgcflr5.jpg>

The Rules

1. NO STEALING ART!
Moods must be created by Elftowners and posted here by the original artist. Which means, no matter how much you might like a particular mood on somebody's house, you are not allowed to add it here. This includes random images from the net too. MAKE YOUR OWN DARN MOODS, DON'T STEAL THEM AND TRY TO CLAIM THEM AS YOUR OWN! That makes us angry, very angry indeed.

2. QUALITY-ISSUES
Please put forth your best effort and the best quality, i.e.
- no drawings on lined notebook paper
- no pictures or bad scannings of your drawings
- moods must be new, made for this contest. That means you may not submit a mood you have made before this contest or one that was submitted to another contest already.
- drawings must be well shaded and/or coloured. Sketches will not be accepted.

Note: Moodicons have very small measurements, resizing an image will make them look bad. Therefore it is better to create them on the computer to begin with.

Any entry that does not follow the above will be removed.

Last but not least, it can happen an artwork has the same title as another one; this is not against the rules as long as the artists' names are clear.

3. EACH MEMBER MAY SUBMIT UNLIMITED ENTRIES.

4. ALL MOODS MUST BE UPLOADED TO ELFTOWN!
Ask [Sunrose] or [Charybdis] for wiki-privs if you don't have them already; members who follow the uploading art rules, and thus are not troublemakers, will be granted these privs. See advanced help for more information about privs.

5. SUBJECT MATTER
Since the winners will be featured on Mainstreet, moods that depict graphic violence, pornography or other disturbing actions will not be accepted. Only moods that fit the theme will be allowed.

All mediums, excepting photography (and/or manipulations) and animated GIF's, will be accepted.

6. SIZE AND FILE-TYPE
The moods can not be bigger than 40 pixels wide and 25 pixels high.
You may upload JPEG, GIF and PNG images.

Specifics

What do you mean by 'mood'?
A moodicon is a small image that you can use to put in your mood. The image may be a graphical representation of how you're feeling, what you're doing, etc.
Examples of these moodicons can be found on <URL:upload_mood_image.html>

So, what do I need to do?
To enter this contest you have to hold the following criteria into account:

1) Moodcollection
In this contest we ask our members to make a collection of moods belonging to a certain theme. You may submit as many collections as you'd like, BUT one collection must only be about ONE theme.

2) Minimum amount
A collection must contain a minimum of FIVE (5) moodicons.
You may submit more, but definitely no less!

3) Theme
A collection must be about a theme.
We have selected a number of themes you can choose from:

- Halloween
- Christmas
- Valentine

- Seasons
- Emotions
- Hobbies (drawing/painting, writing, music etc.)
- Animals
- Countries/Nationalities

Moods not following the themes will be removed

4) Deadline: 15th of January
However, each theme must contain at least 5 collections of moodicons, before a winner will be selected.
If a theme does not have enough collections, the deadline for that theme will be postponed, until it does.

Note:
One winning collection per theme will be picked out by the Council and Assembly among all those presented.
Participants will receive a squirrel badge, and winners will receive a coloured version of the same (or a green/coloured Masters of Building if they are commited art donors).

2006-11-16 [darkstar_skater]: that is so cool

2006-11-17 [Ilana]: I agree.

2006-11-18 [Cathos]: May we enter a collection for each theme or are we limited to one theme each?

2006-11-18 [shotokan_gal]: From the above: 1) Moodcollection
In this contest we ask our members to make a collection of moods belonging to a certain theme. You may submit as many collections as you'd like, BUT one collection must only be about ONE theme.

So, as many as you feel like :)

2006-11-18 [Cathos]: *smacks forehead* Was convinced I read all the instructions this time and was actually asking a slightly useful question. Thankies for answering. :)

2006-11-19 [shotokan_gal]: No problem, there's a lot there to take in. Look forward to seeing the entries ^^

2006-11-21 [Jitter]: are non-animated gifs not allowed? Boo I saw that too late :/

2006-11-21 [Sunrose]: Because animated moodimages are disabled on the moodpage. Probably because it's annoying to have animated moodimages in everyone's moods :)

2006-11-29 [Jitter]: Yeah but I was wondering about non-animated ones :) like these:
<img:stuff/Puurplexmasball.gif><img:stuff/Candycane-mood.gif>

2006-11-29 [Elegy - gone]: 6. SIZE AND FILE-TYPE
The moods can not be bigger than 40 pixels wide and 25 pixels high.
You may upload JPEG, GIF and PNG images.

2006-11-29 [Jitter]: Ooh this wasn't there last time I checked.. -I think! Thanks!! :D

2006-11-29 [Elegy - gone]: Well, seeing as this page hasn't been changed since the day the contest opened, I'll have to say chances are big you just overlooked it =P

2006-11-29 [Jitter]: Maybe xD I'm not functioning much without coffee ;)

2006-12-22 [gelertdragon]: How do I enter it??

2006-12-22 [Sunrose]: Did you read the wiki? :)

2006-12-28 [Artsieladie]: Why is it when I try to upload a mood as a png, it messes up the image? It doesn't do this with a gif or jpg, just the png & it's the right size, so there is no re-sizing by ET necessary.  :P

2006-12-28 [Sunrose]: It seems to not work for many people..

2006-12-28 [Artsieladie]: Oh, so I'm not alone. I use MF, not IE, too. Png's work as emotions, though. <img:stuff/m-jpg.gif>

2007-01-30 [5thwitch]: I am very sad because when i try to use the emoticons the browser crashes... I'm EMOticonized...

2007-01-30 [Sunrose]: Ahw :((
