Greetings, and welcome to Elftown's official 'Fantasy Portrait Contest'!

The Rules

1. NO STEALING ART! Images must be created by Elftowners and posted here by the original artist. Which means, no matter how much you might like a particular image on somebody's house, you are not allowed to add it here. This includes random images from the net too. MAKE YOUR OWN DARN IMAGES, DON'T STEAL THEM AND TRY TO CLAIM THEM AS YOUR OWN! That makes us angry, very angry indeed.

2. QUALITY-ISSUES
Please put forth your best effort and the best quality, i.e.
- no drawings on lined notebook paper
- no pictures or bad scannings of your drawings
- drawings must be new, made for this contest. That means you may not submit a drawing you have made before this contest or one that was submitted to another contest already.
- drawings must be well shaded and/or coloured. Sketches will not be accepted.

Any entry that does not follow the above will be removed.

Last but not least, it can happen an artwork has the same title as another one; this is not against the rules as long as the artists' names are clear.

3. EACH MEMBER MAY SUBMIT ONE (1) ENTRY.

4. ALL IMAGES MUST BE UPLOADED TO ELFTOWN! Ask [Sunrose] or [Charybdis] for wiki-privs if you don't have them already; members who follow the uploading art rules, and thus are not troublemakers, will be granted these privs. See advanced help for more information about privs.

5. SUBJECT MATTER: Since the winners will be featured on Mainstreet, images that depict graphic violence, pornography or other disturbing actions will not be accepted. Only images that fit the theme will be allowed.

All mediums, excepting photography (and/or manipulations) and animated GIF's, will be accepted.

Theme and deadline

What will we be expecting?
The theme is: Create an artistic representation of yourself as a fantasy creature. If Elftown was real, who would you be? The street child picking pockets, the mighty warrior that protects the citizens from harm? All fantasy races are allowed. You decide!
Images not following the theme will be removed

DEADLINE: 25th of November

Note:
Ten images will be picked out by the Council and Assembly among all those presented. A Mainstreet poll will determine the two winners.
Participants will receive a squirrel badge, and winners will receive a coloured version of the same (or a green/coloured Masters of Building if they are commited art donors).

2006-11-06 [The Last Melon]: hey if you already have a squirrel badge do you get a second one if you enter another contest?

2006-11-06 [Ocean Soul]: No, but your badge can be upgraded; if you take part in some more contests you will in the end have a colored squirrel or - if you take part in even more contests - get a master of building badge.
Though getting a badge shouldn't really be the reason you take part in contests, right ;)

2006-11-11 [Ilana]: Can the squirrel be upgraded if you've won a contest before?

2006-11-11 [shotokan_gal]: It might be upgraded to a green masters of building badge if they win again. But it does depend on the situation and how many contests the individual's been in, and so those tend to be looked at on a case by case basis I think.
