"Self-Portrait" by [ave] (nominated by [foxy loxy])

It's a familiar story: someone tells me that they are trying something because it's a challenge, and the result end up being spectacular. This is the case with [ave]'s self-portrait, a beautiful, stylistic piece that demonstrates a great technical skill with an intriguing personal touch. Claiming that it's the eyes that deter her, [ave] doesn't draw people much, but she obviously flourished with this one. It's a mixture of simple pencil and ball-point pen, and she mused about colouring it (but with fear of ruining it). Colour or not, it's simply beautiful, and an great display of talent.
