2006-09-17 [Iron-Man-429]: their the exact same, but their missions aren't as fun.

2006-09-17 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: ok

2006-09-17 [Iron-Man-429]: so who was your favorite boss in single player?

2006-09-17 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: eh, i never really 'played' it. just the multiplayer mode one time when a friend brought it over.

2006-09-17 [Iron-Man-429]: ahh I see, well I loved the fight against the Great Mighty Poo.

2006-09-17 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: i dont doubt that you would

2006-09-17 [Iron-Man-429]: I should see if I can find a vid off of youtube and post it

2006-09-19 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: ok...

2006-10-05 [iippo]: Cool idea... :) I'll post a link to here in Vintage Gamers and Retro Gamers. :)

2006-10-06 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: ka-w00t!!!

2006-10-08 [999999999227747 3734]: Thanks for the support =]

2006-10-09 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: yup, it's great.

2006-10-11 [Kenshimaru]: ... -twitch-

2006-10-12 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: hmm?

2006-10-12 [Iron-Man-429]: Yes there is finally a Turok vid on IGN!

2006-10-12 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: o.O.... reallly....

2006-10-12 [Faulty Limerence]: It's Turok. Not Toruk. Noob. =p

2006-10-12 [Charybdis]: Emm, is Firenze supposed to be on there twice? x) Three times, really, counting the admin section.

2006-10-13 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: harsh baka... harsh.

as for the multi-firenze situation... uhh... maybe we should ask >.> <.<..

2006-10-13 [Kenshimaru]: -twitch-

2006-10-14 [999999999227747 3734]: Ooh... o_O That's wierd...

2006-10-16 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: what is?

2006-10-16 [Iron-Man-429]: the multiple [Firenze]

2006-10-16 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: oh, ya

2006-10-16 [999999999227747 3734]: Fixed now ;)

2006-10-17 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: kool

2006-10-24 [Kenshimaru]: -dead-

2006-10-24 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: o.o........

2006-10-24 [Kenshimaru]: -very dead...-

2006-10-24 [999999999227747 3734]: Indeed it is o_O we need to get this out into the Elftown community somehow...

2006-10-25 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: yes, we do... hmm... banners?

2006-10-25 [999999999227747 3734]: I don't know, do you think it would make the page look better?

2006-10-25 [Firenze]: I think that the page looks fine just needs to be advertised more around ET.

2006-10-25 [The Coffee-Prophet]: Well, I just know that the top title thingie isn't quite matching the idea of the site as good as it could, something more digital-ish would maybe be better, just some cc here.

2006-10-25 [Firenze]: Well come up with something! That was only temporary till something better is made.

2006-10-25 [The Coffee-Prophet]: Hmm.. I just might

2006-10-25 [999999999227747 3734]: It would be good if you could try and come up with something cool, any donations would be muchly apriciated.

2006-10-26 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: hmm...

2006-10-28 [999999999227747 3734]: (As in art wise) ;)

2006-10-28 [The Coffee-Prophet]: I'm working on something now, it'll probably not be epic, but I think it'll do.

2006-10-29 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: i could do a stick figure comic o.O... i do happen to do that but uhh... you know >.> <.<... it wouldn't be impressive...

funny (maybe), but not impressive.

2006-11-04 [Kenshimaru]: they're funny. stick figures make everything funny. you could make a meat package funny just by putting a stick figure somewhere in the scene.

2006-11-07 [Faulty Limerence]: So...anyone up for a discussion on how much ass FFXII kicks? It was nowhere near as bad as everyone thought it was going to be.

2006-11-08 [Iron-Man-429]: FF12 is an awesome game from what I hear, but I wan gears of war more

2006-11-09 [Kenshimaru]: havent played it yet... wasn't in the store when Tyr and me went yesterday. -.-.. it sucked.. but then he spent all my money on Xenosaga III

2006-11-09 [Faulty Limerence]: Hahah another good RPG. Oh man, Guitar Hero II, by the way, is orgasmic. Very difficult, but orgasmic.

2006-11-09 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: ... uh huh...

2006-11-10 [Iron-Man-429]: Guitar Hero II rules!!! Its got a Dethklok song as a bonus track.

2006-11-10 [Faulty Limerence]: Also....*wait for it*............."TROOGDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR!"

2006-11-10 [Iron-Man-429]: Guitar Hero rules!

2006-11-10 [Faulty Limerence]: Trogdor was a man! Wait, he was a...dragon-man! Or maybe he was...just a...dragon...but he was still TROOGDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR! TROOGDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR!

2006-11-15 [Kenshimaru]: totally rocks. lol

2006-11-15 [Iron-Man-429]: Halo 3 in spring of '07

2006-11-16 [Faulty Limerence]: FUCK Halo.

2006-11-16 [The Coffee-Prophet]: Ok, ladies and gents, request for the bannermaker here. If anyone happen to know any logos or easily recognizable objects in videogames (triforce, bombs, main characters etc) that they'd like to see in the gamesmad banner, drop me a line, and we'll see what I can do.

2006-11-16 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: ahem... in order that they were announced...

1. Guitar Hero 2 w00t!
2. Trogdor! Super w00t!
3. Thank you Baka, I'm glad that someone else has common sense besides me...
4. Umm... I'll get back to you on the banner thing ^_^ it might be a bit hard to do an overall banner...

2006-11-16 [Faulty Limerence]: I say you should make a banner with the typical FF Crystal in it. You know, the one found in some of the games' titles? Or cactuars, or Moombas...or Cid =p

2006-11-16 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: ya but, aren't we supposed to be a community for all gamers? we should have other elements in it as well...

2006-11-16 [Faulty Limerence]: Well we can have multiple banners for multiple interests.

2006-11-16 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: hmm... that's always a good idea ^_^

2006-11-16 [Faulty Limerence]: ^__^ I knew there was a reason I talked to you Tyr. You're a good kid. ^__^

2006-11-16 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: Heh, I try.

but hmm... should we only have one symbol for each banner? or multi symbols for each genre?

example:

FPS Banner (my personal least fav but meh...)

Master Cheif with a gun?

or...

James Bond pointing a silenced PP7 at the back of Master Cheif's head? XD

2006-11-17 [Faulty Limerence]: The last one! Oh! I like that last one!

2006-11-17 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: *nods* me too.

but hmm... what would we do for the others?

I like the crystal idea for something from FF, but we should mix it in with something like... umm... >.> <.<... another rpg...

2006-11-17 [Faulty Limerence]: Therres a screenshot out there from a VERY old school RPG with a vender saying "You have not enough golds." We need that. Caption: "Golds. There are never enough. Gamesmad."

2006-11-17 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: *nods* completely ^-^ it'll rock.

hmm... i'm trying to think of other good sayings or quotes from vgs...

2006-11-17 [Faulty Limerence]: Good news. I went to /r/ at 4chan and requested the picture. Got it within four minutes. I'll upload it on my bio for you to see.

2006-11-17 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: wow o.O... kool

2006-11-17 [Faulty Limerence]: Amazing eh?

2006-11-17 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: very much so *nods* i like it

2006-11-17 [Faulty Limerence]: Mmhm. I'm telling you, it'd be great. I used to have tons of images that would be great for it before my reformat, and after Thanksgiving weekend's LAN party, I'll have them all back again.

2006-11-17 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: awesome-o ^_^

2006-11-17 [Faulty Limerence]: In the meantime, be amazed by pretty lights and awesome music.
http://img164.imageshack.us/img164/184/dansamedachmedyd5.swf

2006-11-17 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: =P foo to you too

2006-11-17 [Iron-Man-429]: how about a banner similar to the one I made for my wiki-video games-

2006-11-17 [Faulty Limerence]: That's pretty good. Only problem that I see is that there isn't enough contrast, and the characters blend in with the background too much because of it.

2006-11-17 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: eh... any work with links for me will have to be dealt with tomorrow >.> <.<... my mouse has died...

2006-11-17 [Faulty Limerence]: Aww...well anyway, I've got another image that would work for a banner. Caption: "For when you just can't take it anymore. Gamesmad." Image being uploaded to bio. I have a version without the writing already on it too.

2006-11-17 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: kks

2006-11-17 [Faulty Limerence]: kks...?

2006-11-17 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: it means ok =P

2006-11-17 [Faulty Limerence]: Ah, hahah.

2006-11-17 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: yup... have to make up your own words and abbreviations to survive in this world >.> <.<

'A Brief History of kks'

From it's humble beginnings as the word 'okay', kks has come far. Here, is a short timeline...

Okay
O.K.
ok
k
kk
kks

and there you have it! the evolution from english to tyr! o.O... or is that deevolution?

2006-11-17 [Iron-Man-429]: no its retardation

2006-11-17 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: hey! ... wait... can't dispute that until I ... wait... halo fan... right, sorry ^-^. forgot what i was dealing with.

2006-11-17 [Faulty Limerence]: XD

2006-11-17 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: what? o.o... ok... so i happen to think that 99% of Halo fans are idiots... and maybe i don't hide my thoguths at all... but things happen.

2006-11-17 [Faulty Limerence]: Hey, not a completely disproven theory.

2006-11-17 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: not completely... and until it is i refuse to believe otherwise.

2006-11-17 [Faulty Limerence]: I'm with ya there, buddy. =p

2006-11-17 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: glad someone is ^_^... so at any rate... back to the banners at hand...

2006-11-17 [Iron-Man-429]: I take you guys are hardcore sony fans huh?

2006-11-17 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: actually... not necessarily. I am, but the reason I hate Halo is because it's an overhyped FPS. i mean... in all seriousness i can't stand huge hype about any FPS because honestly, they aren't appealing to me.

you get a gun, shoot people, get better guns, shoot more enemies, and once you've gotten every gun and shot everyone, you win. woop-de-freaking-doo...

and honestly Halo may have been good... but i really hate all these people who act like it's the best thing since sliced bread...

2006-11-17 [Faulty Limerence]: Halo was only hyped so much because it was the first FPS for the X-Box. It's actually rather generic as far as sci-fi shoot-em-ups go.

2006-11-17 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: exactly my point *nods* but still... like i said, FPS's just don't do it for me...

i'm good at them, but they're just not that great in general

2006-11-17 [iippo]: I know I'm late and stuff but 'O.K.' preceeds 'okay', 'O.K.' stood for "all correct" (and the funny part was that neither O nor K was correct). Useless, I know... but I find it interesting >_>

2006-11-17 [Faulty Limerence]: Didn't "O.K." start as a hand signal in the military?

2006-11-17 [iippo]: But it still meant the same, all correct?

2006-11-17 [Faulty Limerence]: Yep. If what my dad (retired Air Force) says is right, it started as a hand signal for "all go" and gradually changed to "all correct".

2006-11-17 [Faulty Limerence]: The colors clash a lot. You may want to work on the colors a little bit.

Heh, the image on my house was deleted.

2006-11-17 [The Coffee-Prophet]: You do have a point, any thoughts on the font/font color? I can't seem to find any good ones

2006-11-17 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: eesh... looks like a really bad 4th grade collage i once tried to make...

but anywho.. umm.. ya... it should

-be alot smaller
-try to seem more organized
-and if possible, maybe be funny?

2006-11-18 [Iron-Man-429]: ill try to come up with one next weekend over thanksgiving break

2006-11-18 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: thank you. i'll do something too if possible

2006-11-18 [Faulty Limerence]: Well, if the head of this wiki will message me back...we could put forth an organized effort to make several banners.

2006-11-18 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: yes we could

2006-11-21 [999999999227747 3734]: I have replied to [Faulty Limerence], I am sorry for long reply, I have been busy doing some stuff In life, But I am back now & will be working on this once again.

2006-11-21 [Iron-Man-429]: thats good to here; I'm going to do those badge things you asked of me over x-mas break because I am swamped in school work and art trades. I'm sorry it is taking so long.

2006-11-21 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: okita... no problem... o.O

2006-12-30 [Kenshimaru]: -splat-

2006-12-30 [Nightmare Anatomy]: has anyone played the new fear expansion ??

2006-12-30 [Iron-Man-429]: no I just got the normal part of the game: It kicks.

2007-01-10 [Iron-Man-429]: who here plays unreal tournament?

2007-01-10 [Faulty Limerence]: Did...everything get deleted? What the hell?

Er...oops wrong wiki again.

2007-02-07 [Kenshimaru]: o.0

2007-06-23 [Kenshimaru]: ... did i do something to stop the speach in this wiki?

2007-06-23 [Iron-Man-429]: I completely forgot about this place. It has been inactive for months now.

2007-06-23 [Ramirez]: Touche.

2007-06-27 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: I blame the gnomes... I really do...

2007-06-28 [Kenshimaru]: 5-7 months actually

2007-12-22 [999999999227747 3734]: Coem on, lets try and get this out there

2007-12-22 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: It's kind of hard to just randomly find gamers though ^-^; believe me, I've tried.

2007-12-22 [999999999227747 3734]: I suppose... It's a bit harder to get the word out that first thought...

2007-12-22 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: *nods* But... once we get enough suport, it should be easy, right?

2007-12-22 [999999999227747 3734]: Hopefully, then the community hopefully be a flyer...

2007-12-22 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: *nods* Let's hope, eh? ^-^

2007-12-22 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: So... <.< How about that uhh... Dynasty Warriors 6? Anyone else excited? XD

2007-12-22 [999999999227747 3734]: What consol is it on?

2007-12-22 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: Playstation 3, last I checked. 3-5 were good games ^-^ although admittedly simple, and of course there were some things they lacked (like bloodshed, which I REALLY think would be fun...), it's still way too fun to kill 1000 guys in less than an hour.

2007-12-28 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: What changed? <.<

2007-12-28 [Roxcie]: yaaa, sorry about that. I was gonna join, but i'm not a huge gamer or anything, just play it once in a while. so i didn't join.

2007-12-28 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: Pfft... I see how it is <.<

2007-12-28 [Roxcie]: well fine, i'll join lol

2007-12-28 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: BWAHA! =D look at Tyr and his bad self *dances*

2007-12-28 [Roxcie]: lol oh ya, totally :P

2007-12-28 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: *nods* So, what DO you play? System and games =P *wants ta know*

2007-12-28 [Roxcie]: well on the comp. i've played an RPG game called "Dragon Quest" I've played some Ratchet and Clank games, Midnight Club, Kinetica, Twisted Metal games aaand some more but eh, i don't feel like listing them all off. lol i've played some of "Champions return to arms" too.

2007-12-28 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: A fairly good list <.< I must say. Besides maybe Midnight Club...

2007-12-28 [Roxcie]: lol thank you ^_^ Well to be honest, i suck at Midnight Club -_-'

2007-12-28 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: Midnight Club is... racing, right?

2007-12-28 [Faulty Limerence]: Midnight Club is racing, yes. The first one was absolutely horrible and the second was only slightly better. The third was okay. XD Kinetica was a Ps2 launch title, so it's a bit outdated, but was still very fun and inventive. Twisted Metal Was one of the better series of games during it's long run. And finally we have Ratchet and Clank. Possibly the best platforming series of all time.

2007-12-28 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: I knew what the rest were <.<;;

And ya, the R&C games do rock pretty hard... but there are better series in my eyes. No offense to them, of course, there's just better games out there <.<

2007-12-28 [999999999227747 3734]: Need for Speed : ProStreet. Possibly one of the best racing games? What are your views? I personally love the game and keep seeming to find myself craving to play it... lol

2007-12-28 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: Bah... I mostly can't stand racing games, to be honest. Except for Burnout and Mario Kart XD I love those games...

2007-12-28 [999999999227747 3734]: I liked burnout 3 and didn't see much of a difference between it and Revenge... I can't stand Mario gaems, but whatever you enjoy ;)

2007-12-28 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: =P Mario games rock. And it doesn't matter about a difference, why change a good thing?

2007-12-28 [999999999227747 3734]: I agree... but they don't reli care about the gameplay, they make sure it's good and has a few changes but in the end all they want is to make money...

2007-12-28 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: Eh... Well I mean just a general thing. In a way, almost any game series is that way, with a few exceptions.

2007-12-28 [Faulty Limerence]: Actually, it's not that at all. They found a formula that works, and they stuck with it, while fine-tuning a few things that they got with feed-back from testers. That's why it's so similar, because really it's just an upgrade. They didn't want to try anything too outrageous until they fine-tuned the existing product. And of course they want to make money. That's how they can afford to make another game. They're a business. =P There's my two-cents.

2007-12-28 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: Eh... Admittedly there're still some things I wish they'd ask MY opinion about XD cause dangit, I'm starting to get tired of the way gaming is turning <.<

2007-12-29 [Faulty Limerence]:  /agree

2007-12-29 [Roxcie]: I really want to play Guitar Hero or DDR but I haven't been able to yet =/

2007-12-29 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: ^-^ Guitar Hero is pretty dang awesome, if I do say so myself. Though certain things are a bit tricky <.< like the insanely quick chord switching and (for me) the alternate picking... and hammer ons and pull offs that're super quick ^-^
I mean I play on expert, but there's still some things I can't do too well XD just fact.

2007-12-29 [999999999227747 3734]: I love Guitar Hero... it's a great game... Top noch fun.

2007-12-29 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: I still say the FF series is the best game series out there.

They HAVE been on the decline recently... at least comparatively... but I'm really hoping 13 spurs the life back into the series.

2007-12-29 [Roxcie]: I've never played FF games either. lol or another series of games i can't think of at the moment but is popular.

2007-12-29 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: Kingdom Hearts?

2007-12-29 [Roxcie]: Nope! (i haven't played that either though lol i know, i'm sad) Halo

2007-12-29 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: UGH... Halo... *shakes head* I won't rant about how horrible I think it is unless someone asks... just to spare you all <.<

2007-12-29 [Roxcie]: lol! How horrible do you think it is? :P

2007-12-29 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: It's Horrid. Terrible. Fantastically so.

I'll admit, before I completely go off on it... Halo can be a fun game to play, at times. I don't doubt that, I don't doubt it at all... but...

Halo, the entire series, is an overhyped FPS. The game is not THAT good. It never was, it never will be. It's just a freakin' FPS for crying out loud!
When you break it down, they're all the same in the end. Grab a gun, shoot someone, get shot, die, respawn, repeat. Yet Halo gets so much hype and attention. People are crazed about it and I'll just never get it.
There're a billion better series, better games, better things to do with your time than play freaking Halo! And yet, it's all anyone wants to do. It's all they talk they about. Little kids are dressing up as Master Cheif for Halloween and it pisses me off!
I never did like humans... to be honest... and then Halo came along and completely destroyed my faith in humanity.
To all of you who play Halo and think it is the best thing since video game invention, I can quite honestly say that I hope you burn in hell.
I apologize if I offended anyone (besides the Halo addicts), but my opinion was asked for... and I gave it.

There you have it.

2007-12-30 [Mortified Penguin]: You have a problem. I hope you know that... *eats ramen*...

2007-12-30 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: I have plenty of problems... *smiles* thanks for noticing. *shakes head and sits down* Change of subject?

2007-12-30 [Mortified Penguin]: Mort sez: Play Prince of Persia, God of War, Metal Gear Solid, Splinter Cell, various DBZ games, Grand Theft Auto, and Final Fantasy.

2007-12-30 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: *raises a toast* Here here! *drinks down an entire can of sprite*

2007-12-30 [Mortified Penguin]: ...and, most importantly, Halo.

2007-12-30 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: *throws the empty can at mort's head*

2007-12-30 [Roxcie]: lol

2007-12-30 [999999999227747 3734]: Haha, I'm sorry, But I do love playing halo at times, but I do prefer some other games because i can find FPS games can get a bit repatative and boring... Nice Rant Btw...

2007-12-30 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: FPS do get repetitive and boring -.- especially when I can't find a challenge...

Black! Black was an awesome FPS... but it had no multiplayer. Broke my heart... *shakes head*

2007-12-30 [999999999227747 3734]: I prefer Racing games or RTS games like Red Alert 2... there some good games.

2007-12-30 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: Eh... not my favorite two game types. Burnout is good... and the RTS are only fun with a ton of versatility...

2007-12-30 [Faulty Limerence]: For the record, Final Fantasy 7 was great. Eight was horrible as a Final Fantasy, but still better than most RPGs that were out at the time. Nine was great. Ten was great. Eleven was retarded and a huge waste of time when compared to World of Warcraft. And twelve was awesome. So really, the core series has not been on the decline.

2007-12-30 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: Ascuse me?
Seven was a good game, I'll admit that... but it was one of the easiest RPG's I've ever played. The materia system also made it so your characters could basically become the same except for limits, weapon and appearance. Since every character could summon and after enough training you could duplicate nearly any summon or materia, it was pretty much just train until all your characters blinked to make things die.
Oh and the farking death... I know most people know who but, for those of who don't, I won't ruin it. (Yes, there are still people out there.) That death was B.S. You JUST get the character's final weapon and limit break, get to use them in ONE battle, and then BAM! Dead. Done. I was not sad when they died... I was TICKED OFF.
The love triangle makes no sense either... Cloud barely knows Aeris and yet they're in love. Now her side I can kind of understand because of the history and whatnot... but dod gamnit who did they think they were kidding? Cloud and Tifa and made for each other >.< plain and simple. *stabs to Cloud&Aeris fans and square-enix for supporting them in KH* But it was a good game... good story and characters. I liked it. and the only thing I've left to do is beat emerald weapon... stupid Aire Tam Storm...

Eight rocked. No matter what you say. I loved the game, the advanced levels of customization for both summon and character. They had a good storyline, the card game was fun and addicting, and they did really well. The only bad aspect I ever found on the game was the draw magic system... it's insanely unreal that that would happen.
Oh... and getting Doom Train is a b*tch...

Nine, again, was good. It was a bit too 'the main character has a monkey tail' for me (as in it was doing some serious fantasy when compared to the others), but good nonetheless. Loved the game... wish I could finish it but my stupid third disk freezes -.-

Ten was crap as an FF. This is where they started going downhill, in my opinion. There was, of course, some good to it... They had Blitz. Blitz was one of the greatest mini games I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing... love that game. The summon system was new, it was nice, it was refreshing. I liked it. They could have given a few more summons, but it was ok the way it was. And the final good point on that game is the difficulty it takes to get the final weapons and power them up. They had some really nice CG scenes that I like to watch over and over, and some good music too, every now and then at least... oh. And Al Bhed was tons of fun. Just wish I could remember it XD
However...
When you got right down to it, every character become the EXACT SAME CHARACTER except, of course, for their limits, weapons, appearance and Yuna being a summoner. Yojimbo is impossible to make do anything because he simply does whatever he feels like, regardless of the amount of gold you pay him. I mean when you pay 2.5mil and still only get a wakazashi... it's dissapointing, to say the least. The arena monsters are all at least ten times stronger than the final boss was, and most of them are far more so. It provides a challenge, admittedly, but the level of difference is rather unreasonable. The final boos himself, was a joke. Your entire part gets infinite auto-life and, if you spent any time training and got one character with break damage limit, you could kill him in one hit. It was PATHETIC! Tidus was a whiney little main character throughout the entire game... and in the Suteki De Na (I believe that's the scene name... if I'm wrong I should be shot but...) scene his face creeps me out... <.< seriously. The ending was, admittedly, touching and horribly unexpected... but it was still kind of just... blah and wrong to me. The sphere grid system, while huge, wouldn't take that long to fill if I dedicated myself to it for a week or two. It's more tedious than it is difficult. Oh... and the fact that your airship is fairly useless for most of the game... and then the fact that you don't even really get to pilot it... ya... didn't like that ONE BIT.

X-2... don't even get me started with X-2. *shakes head*

Eleven, admittedly, I haven't played enough of to judge all that well. But, I will say this... I'd prefer FF to WoW, any day of the week, the month, the year, the decade, the century, the millenia... and so on.

Twelve was amazing. It had nice graphics... an interesting limit system... it gave me so much useless information that I could explode with glee. (seriously, I love the random crap. It's awesome. Makes me feel more alive.) The gambit system was useful once you got to using it, and the variety of weapons was interesting, to say the least. I loved the difference in levels sometimes... how I could access some forbidden place, thinking I was all bad arse, then get my sorry butt handed to me. It made me happy. The Hunt system, beautiful. Rare game, wonderful. The summons, well here's where we start hitting bumps in the road...
Twelve, despite the good parts of it, had MAJOR flaws unlike any before it's time. The summons were all completely new and revamped, no Shiva... no Ifrit... no BAHAMUT (*swears very profusely*) admittedly the first two had fairly ok replacements... but some of the summons were, lets face it, ugly. (CuChulainn... *shudders*) Also, the system for summons was exciting... at first. Until you learn that you can summon them, but not control a damn thing they do which is REALLY annoying. I even prefer the "summon, they do one attack, they're done" system to something like what they gave. I mean come. You tame these incredible spirits of enormous power, only to have them do whatever the hell they want? It's rather unfriendly, to say the least. The main characters were all... well... kind of unappealing to look at. Fran was ok, Balthier had his good side, and Ashe, on rare occasions, passed as a fairly attractive girl but... for the most part, I disapprove entirely. I mean COME ON, for the fact that they learned how to change weapons and sheilds, they sure didn't learn anything in the clothes department. They even SHOW YOU what your clothes and accesories look like in the mini pic! But do you get to actually see them? Hells no! That's just too much effort dudes and dudettes. I'd rather they had taken the time. Then, of course, the liscence system... so much like the sphere grid except it's ten times smaller, and therefore twenty times easier to complete. Two of my characters have full plates... and they're barely over level 50. Basically you have the 'exact same character bit' except that now... the only real difference is looks and who they can summon. Since you can pretty much equip everyone with the same weapon (except for the ultra rares). Speaking of weaponry... WTF is up with the Zodiac spear? If you pick up one these specifc, unmarked chests at any point during the game then you can't get it? FARK THAT! I don't BUY strategy guides you pieces of crap! (*throttles SE employees*) Ugh... and then the fact that you need to steal from certain enemies to get particular items, armor and weapons is fine. But what's STUPID is how 96% of the time, no matter who you steal from you only get POTIONS. So when the time comes when you actually NEED to, you think 'Fark that. I don't need any more potions.' and then you miss out on Genji Armor and you just want to hack someone into little, tiny, bite-sized bits. It's enough to drive a fan to the edge... and jump off. Oh, and your airship being out of commision for about half of the game is also very tiring... VERY tiring. The limit system is somewhat of a joke... I mean you can use the limits at any time and deal a bazillion damage to a bug if you really wanted, then walk around and get it all back within 5 minutes. It's not much of a challenge... and leaves much to be desired. ESPCIALLY since each character only gets 3... and you can get all three so easily that it's not even remotely funny. (seriously. I had all three of Vaan's before I even got Penelo in the party. Yes, it took a bit of dedication but... COME ON.) Also... some of the weapons are just plain pointless. I KNOW they have certain effects and all... but I mean really... Measures? I have spells and special arrows for that kind of junk. The characters are also all a bit too... messed up in the head, for my tastes. And the fact that you use Reks for like... 10 minutes got me mad too >.< *stabs someone*
All I'm saying is that the game could use some serious farking work. Really.

I just hope Thirteen is as good as it looks... I need it -.-

2007-12-30 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: And dang... I can type when I want to XD

2007-12-30 [Synirria]: *Giggles and shakes her head* Oh boy...

2007-12-30 [Roxcie]: lol
wow :P

2007-12-30 [Faulty Limerence]: If you haven't played WoW and FF XI, then you can't say which one you prefer. WoW is much more user friendly, and much more playable. As far as stealing in FFXII, the whole point is to equip items that make you steal rarer things. I never had any trouble stealing what I wanted from Gilgamesh. It's not like he dies after a certain amount of time. Just don't kill him until you've stolen it.All of the weapons have very nice amounts of usefulness with certain party combinations. Attacking a party member with a measure that casts bubble on them is way cheaper on mana, and is also useable if the enemy your fighting steals all your mana, which is a big problem in certain optional fights. The only point that I can really agree with you on is the bit with the Zodiac Spear. But there is another way to obtain it.

Yojimbo does exactly what you want if you take the time to figure him out. There's a definite formula to him. So that's just ignorance on your part. The point of the Sphere Grid was not to make every character the same. It was to make each character fill whatever roll that YOU as the player wanted them to. The only way to make them the same is to fill the sphere grid with all of them, which I've also done. But you're not going to do that for a good while once you start the game. If you think about it, almost all of the Final Fantasies allow you to do that to your characters if you spend enough time to do it. But yes, Tidus was whiny and stupid. I agree there.

Oh! Eight. Generic story line, junction system was absolutely grating, draw magic was actually kind of cool, but only when put into context of the junction system, which should never have come into existence. Squall is a stupid emo bastard, Rinoa is insanely annoying, Zell is also extremely annoying. Quistis is one of the most improbable archetypes ever created. Seipher was kind of cool, but still pointlessly aggressive for the first half of the game. And he's so easy to beat.... Selphie is one of the only redeemable characters, because she's pretty different from what you usually see.

But I know what you're going to say, and trust me, if you haven't played both of those MMO's, and I'm not trying to be offensive with this, you really can't speak as to which one's better. FFXI is nothing but a grind. You log on, you kill some monsters, try to level that way. WoW has a quest system, a useable interface, and an actual, enjoyable, end-game experience.

Anyway, this is a brief version of what I was going to say, as the other decided to delete itself.

Love ya, Tyr. ^___^

Oh, and Cloud didn't love Aerith, that was made up by fans, but Aerith was smitten with Cloud. She just was. He rescued her after all. He was very close to Aerith, of course, because of her relation to the Jenova project. But no. No one ever thinks about that. Noobs. =P

Ah, some more. There's nothing wrong with revamped summons. This story had to do with the world of Ivalice, which had different mythology, os they decided to change it. I for one, was glad for the break from the traditionals. And Bahamut was in the game. The Airships took the names of the original summons, which was actually a throw-back from a couple of past FF games, so that was really cool to see again. I actually don't like the quickening system very much at all. The whole point, in an rpg, to not changing their look outside of the menu is to keep the characters personalities in tact. When you are able to change so much of the characters looks, they begin to lose their story-specific traits, in the player's mind. Look at Tactics. You'll notice that all the main characters didn't change appearances with their job. Same reason. It's not laziness, it's story-telling. Sure, it'd be cool and all, but there are reasons behind it.

2007-12-30 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: I wasn't saying that I didn't know how to steal, or steal more effectively, I was more just explaining that because of the way in which the system worked, you don't know when to really steal because of how the battles treated you before you COULD get items that allow you to steal better. And, quite frankly I'd rather just use items to refill my mana since spells are quite useful. I couldn't bring myself to waste a character's weapon slot like that... =/ they're so much more useful with actual weapons.

Yojimbo's formula isn't exactly an easy one to figure out, so ignorance isn't exactly that hard to come by on it. I've seen him do his final technique for two gold, and for 10k, and sometimes just out of nowhere. AND the sphere grid may be designed so people can fill certain rolls, but my main point was that you DO eventually make them all into the same character. Which is bothersome.

And no, on all the FF's you do not do that. on 6 each character had their own ability that only they could use. Tactics defeinitly wasn't that way, nor was 1 or 8. Eight was good because you COULDN'T make all your characters the same, since there was a limited number of summons, and each summon had certain abilities unique to it. I can't speak much on the others, because I haven't played them, but there was definitly differences in a lot of the better games.

And Cloud, in case you forget, was just as 'emo' as squall was for most of the game. They both come around, so none of that. Zell was slightly bothersome, admittedly, but a fun character to play with. I personally liked Rinoa, she was a good character... although, admittedly, somewhat tedious at times.
The Junction system was also a whole lot better than the materia system to me or, for that matter, the sphere grid and liscence systems.
And, in case you've never played it, the idea of junctioning was technically introduced in 6... or at least that was the first one I played with something like that in it. Not saying the system was the same, but it was similar. It's a good system.
As for Selphie and Siepher... Siepher was all you say, but I never did end up truly liking him. And Selphie was a bit too hyper for my tastes.
Laguna rocked though. And I will never listen to a bad word about Raine either. Those two made that game awesome as heck >.< even though they played a small part.
Oh... and Ragnarok is the best airship. Ever. <.<

For the WoW vs XI thing... i know I technically can't judge. But my point is that I know enough about the games to have a preference. WoW is too crazed for me *shrugs* and I've always been an FF fan. So that's just how that ball rolls.

And now would you mind a bit more detail defending your games? I know you last one got deleted, but it's nice to have deeper conversations.

2007-12-30 [Faulty Limerence]: Okay back to making all the characters the same. I never said "all" without the qualifier of "almost" Tactics, you could have all your characters learn every skill, and be the same class. In FF 8 you could junction 99 Ultimas in every slot and have them with pretty much the same stats. Of course there are certain things in each game that make the characters different regardless, but that goes for EVERY FF, so there's no defense of that point.
There are fights in XII where you will NOT be able to use mana. Point said, and defended.
Yojimbo doesn't do anything out of nowhere. It's all based on a formula. Learn the formula and you can make him do exactly what you want. Any complaints after that is just a lack of effort on the player to play with Yojimbo and learn the formula. Not Square's fault for introducing a complex summon.
Cloud was emo for a reason. What was Squall's reason?
You want me to be detailed? You didn't even say why you thought the Junction System was better than Materia. =P And yes, I know it was semi-introduced in six, but it's still a horribly saturated and pointless system that keeps beginners from being able to bring out the potential of their characters.
Not only can you "technically" not judge, but as FFXI is almost nothing like a traditional Final Fantasy, you can't judge at all. I'm a die-hard FF fan and I absolutely hate it. I was crazy about the idea when it was announced, but I played it and have the ability to admit that it's horrible as MMO's go. It's just not enjoyable at all. There's no motivation for leveling, which, in an MMO, means there's no real motivation for playing. I'm not even bringing up the interface. People seem to forget that WoW has as many players as it does for a reason. It may be hyped, but it's for good reason. It's a very well executed MMO. Period.

I think I'm being plenty detailed.

Still love ya Tyr. =P

By the way, I'm not going to continue a debate about the Final Fantasies. I've done it too many times and it never concludes. Waste of time, really, when you think about it. We've all got opinions and we all stick to them. Some people hate the Sphere Grid, I love it. Some people love Junctioning, I hate it. *shrugs* So yeah, I think I'm done on this argument. And for the record, I'm not mad or anything. I'm actually very glad that you have your own opinion and are willing to defend it. ^_^

2007-12-30 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: First off <.< don't make new points in your old posts XD it confused me for a second when I looked at it. Second: Aerith... *Shudders* =P kidding.

And once again, I think you misheard me... I HAVE played a bit of XI, just not much. And I know plenty of people who have played and take it from them until I have the chance to play it a bit more. I can judge from what I know, otherwise no one would ever buy video games without playing them first. It's what reviews, trailers, and videos of gameplay are for. I'm not just saying "FF is better than WoW cause it's FF." I do a bit more reasearch than that. Kapeesh?

Squall's reasons for emoness were more complex and deep lying. Ya, it seemed like he just wanted to be a loner, but it was more of imabalance in his psyche, events from his childhood, and overall how things turned out in his life. Cloud had so much less reason. Seriously.

Also... I did mention why I thought junctioning was better. It's because it makes it so your characters can't be all the same like the materia/sphere grid systems allow. Yes you can stat you characters the same, but there's still the ability difference which you're choosing to ignore, which was my main focus =/. Admittedly I put them a bit apart from each other, but it was an easy conclusion.

As for the Yojimbo thing, like I said, I have tinkered around with him. It's just not that apparent to me. Maybe I'm overlooking something... either way, it's just not that obvious.

Speaking of which... a point I wanted to comment on... beginner's aren't supposed to know how to full on use their characters. Making things easier for them is why video games are in decline sometimes. Admittedly, some things are too hard for people to pick up, but the junctioning system is not of them. Spend time with, tink around a bit with the system, it's like Yojimbo, you just need to figure it out.

In Tactics, your character could not be a chocobo, and a Bard. That's character difference.

And it's fine that you don't want to continue because, I agree, most poeple have their own opinions which don't bend or break all that easily. I'm not mad either, it's nice to have someone to argue over things I like with XD. Makes meh happy.

So, til someone else decides to start it off again...

Watchow! <.<

2007-12-30 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: P.S. naming the airships after the summons really only made me miss them <.< Like I said... I like the new summons (more or less) I just hated how they pawned their names off like that <.<

2007-12-30 [Faulty Limerence]: I like how the only judge that lived was on the Alexander. That made me grin a little inside.
And yes, I'd like to make several points about your last post, but I'm restraining myself. XD

2007-12-30 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: ... <.< please, no plot spoilers XD I'm still only so far.

2007-12-31 [Mortified Penguin]: ******* nerds... *eats ramen*...

2007-12-31 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: Ahem. I'm a gamer. *steals mort's ramen* Or, if you must, Otaku. *eats the ramen*

2007-12-31 [Mortified Penguin]: No, I must not. *eats the bowl of ramen in the other hand*

2007-12-31 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: Then I'd prefer it if you wouldn't =P good ramen, by the way.

2007-12-31 [Mortified Penguin]: *urge to kill rising*

2007-12-31 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: Mort. I'm not sure what kind of gamer you are, but I've play action, adnventure, fighters and RPGs all my days =P don't try to kill me unless you plan on doing it several times, assuming you make the first kill :P

2007-12-31 [Mortified Penguin]: There was poison in that ramen...

2007-12-31 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: *drinks down an antidote* That's why I always carry a bunch of these. *tosses the empty vial away*

2007-12-31 [Mortified Penguin]: ...but... there's no antidote to exploding poison! ...duh. Stupid.

2007-12-31 [Tyr and Zao Hawk]: because exploding poison just turns into gas *shakes head* antidotes still heal it.

2008-09-27 [Taller Than You]: COOOOL!!!!! I love games Board Games, Video Games, Computer Games, etc..... The Nintendo DS rules

2008-10-14 [Kenshimaru]: i don't even wanna know

2008-10-15 [elfprincess021]: don't wanna know what? ... *gah! steals Mikey's(Taller Than You) golden zelda edition DS! mawahahaha ;P

2011-01-11 [Kenshimaru]: o.o that's a big DS

2012-11-16 Eshyla: Are you talking about the dlnaoowd-able games? If so, everything should be fine. The next generation of consoles will use the same market (PSN/XBL) as today, probably just an upgraded version. So your stuff will be saved. Too early to be thinking ahead, next consoles should be out by late 2013.
