Radio Series

[ArchangelGabriel]: theres notign like it and proabably never will be. The first of its kind. The first comedy ever to come out in surround sound. The first real Sci-Fi.

Books

[Dil*]: Possibly the greatest science fiction book ever, it was hilarious, deep and brilliant. I loved it so much. The only science fiction book series that can *maybe* stand up to it is Frank Herbert's Dune. Some people say HHGTTG series is a philosophy book cleverly disguised as science fiction. It's at cult level. It changes your perspective of the world. Few books can do that.

[ArchangelGabriel]: The other beautiful thing is that it doesn't confuzzle you with warp factors and anti matter. It dazzles you with improb and paranoid androids. Its a sci-fi that doesn't take its self to seriously.

[bungalowbill] Nevertheless, as I reread the books, I find lots of incredibly high level humour, that most folks probably miss. I am constantly amazed at the intelligence (on so many topics) and wit of the late Mr. Adams.

Film

[Dil*]
The film was alright. They changed the plot quite a bit, so if you're one of those people who hate movies that stray from the original plot too much; my suggestion: Don't watch it. I enjoyed watching it, Marvin was well done, but Ford and Arthur weren't as well done as they could have been. As in, I liked the BBC series Ford and Arthur better. The one thing that bugged me quite a bit was the fact that they changed the line "No I was only fooling, we're going to die afterall". They made it more American and that plssed me off. All in all, it was an okay film that is a 'good for renting' movie.

[ArchangelGabriel]: I loved it. Yes they changed it ALOT from the origonal books but hey, they had to. The books had, to be honest, no plot. Addmittedly they did c*ck up some of the old favourite lines but it happens. I urge all watchers to keep an open ,mind and rember that the film was written by Douglas Adams and was there for his creation and his idea. HHGTTG was never meant to be set in stone. Everything is definitvly inacurate and evolves with every version.

[bungalowbill] Fishing for complements is a terrible habit.

That said, well maintained, very inclusive and an all around hoopy place to be.
