2009-11-12 [Nioniel]: Please click the links beneath the prices to checkout!
There is currently a limited supply of the products, so should you want one made for you, please drop a line in the comment box letting me know.

2009-11-12 [sweet.tx.tea]: ZOMG! I so want one! Only, I'm not having a baby anytime soon. HAHA.

2009-11-12 [Nioniel]: :)
Well, they're great for gifts for friends and family members as well.
So much time and effort went into these, I'm proud of how incredible they turned out.

2009-11-12 [sweet.tx.tea]: I would be proud, too! They turned out so lovely! I will see about buying one; I have to see if anyone I know is pregnant. Hah.

2009-11-13 [Kaimee]: Are you making more, or custom orders? I have a friend pregnant with another little girl that I would love to get something beautiful and handcrafted like this for, but I don't want to give in to her penchant of adorning her children in all-things-pink >:P
Something in soft greys, or amber, or blues maybe?

2009-11-13 [Nioniel]: [Kaimee]; it's no problem to do a custom order for you, I can do one that is blue, white, gray and teal (I think that those are the colors) that will be mulicolored, similar to the gender neutral one shown above. Let me know what dimensions you want and I'll quote you a price. As soon as you let me know for sure that you want it, I'll get the yarn and get to work on it. If that's the case, I can have it done by Monday.

[sweet.tx.tea]; thanks! The page is exported, so feel free to direct any friends or family members who may be interested to this wiki page!

2009-11-13 [Kaimee]: Hmm, I think I'll ask her if she has any colour preferences... I personally like those colours, although I think instead of teal I would prefer another shade of blue? Perhaps Navy blue (or a dark steel grey/blue), then lighter blue, soft grey and white.
But anyway, I'll find out from her if she has any likes/hates, the baby isn't due for awhile yet so we wouldn't need it straight away :P

2009-11-13 [goodbyee]: How much of the profit is going to BCR?

2009-11-13 [Jitter]: Shared on FB :)

2009-11-13 [Teufelsweib]: lovely initiative and the blankets are really cute too :)

2009-11-14 [Nioniel]: [Kaimee]: the yarn I was thinking of was similar to that of the gender neutral stuff in the second blanket displayed in the wiki, where the colours run together throughout the blanket. I assume that you had in mind something more like the pink and white one, where the colors rotate back and forth, only not with pink and white then? When you decide which colours you'd like, don't forget to include the dimensions as well!

[goodbyee]: all of the profit, but the profit is determined by cost and each blanket has a different cost, so the donation will be different with each blanket.

[Jitter]: thank you!!!

[Teufelsweib]: thanks as well!

2009-11-16 [Lothuriel]: These are soooo pretty!!

2009-11-16 [Nioniel]: Thank you Loth!

2009-11-18 [DarkJenni]: these are cuuute. ^_^

2009-11-18 [Nioniel]: :)
Thanks!
Hopefully someone will end up buying one!

2009-11-18 [DarkJenni]: i know the feeling....lol

2009-11-19 [Kaimee]: I sent her an email and I'm waiting to hear back :3

2009-11-19 [Nioniel]: Great, thank you for the update!
<img:44166_1164145171.gif>

2009-12-15 [small and mighty]: Lovely blankets
I wish I could crochet Lol

2009-12-15 [Nioniel]: Thank you muchly!

2009-12-17 [Nioniel]: Man, you all need to start having babies already!

2009-12-20 [Kaimee]: The friend I was going to purchase one of these for has unfortunately had a miscarriage and is in hospital in a pretty bad way :( Very sorry, but I'm sure you understand I wont be needing one of your beautiful blankets anymore!

2009-12-20 [Nioniel]: Certainly I understand, and I am very sorry to hear that! I hope that your friend recovers quickly.

2010-09-06 [Nioniel]: Crocheted Critters are also for sale!

2010-12-13 [Nioniel]: New stuff on the way! Currently accepting commissions as well! :)

2010-12-13 [Linderel]: Why do you support gender-assigned colours? <_< That pink and white blanket might just as well be used for a boy.

Now that this obligatory comment is out of the way: these are very cute. :)

2010-12-13 [Nioniel]: Hmm...you're right, of course, the blanket could be used for a baby of any gender. Generally, I don't support gender-assigned anything (when I was young, I abhored pink), I just assumed that should people be searching specifically for a girly baby blanket, that pink would be the colour they would be looking for.

And thank you. :)

2010-12-13 [Linderel]: Ah, yes. It is the generic choice, isn't it? I swear, if I ever get a child, I'll give it a black blanket. <_< Or maybe not. :P

2010-12-13 [Nioniel]: My friends with baby boys don't even want the gender-neutral blankets, they specifically want boy coloured blankies (blue and brown, in the most recent case). It's actually been easier to unload girly coloured ones than the multi-coloured ones. Apparently baby boys are too masculine to have any pink in their blankets.

If I ever have kids, I'd like the daughter to be a tomboy, or the son to be sensitive, instead of a girly-girl or a manly-man. lawl. :)

2010-12-13 [Linderel]: What's interesting is that blue used to be the colour for girls and red the colour for boys. Sometime, somehow, it got switched around, with the red also being diluted down to pink. Completely arbitrary.

Tomboys rule!

2010-12-13 [Nioniel]: I hated dresses and skirts when I was young, though now a nice long skirt is one of the comfiest things, I think... :)

2010-12-14 [Kaimee]: Being the only girl, I was always dressed in skirts and dresses >.< As soon as I could dress myself, they were never seen again xD I'm only just able to bear them again now...

2010-12-14 [Daisy le Fleur]: *Squeeeee* I've been trying to get someone in my family to knit me some caps for the baby.. ya know the little ones they wear home from the hospital? How much would you charge for one of those?

2010-12-14 [Nioniel]: $25 plus S/H.
:)

If you wanted more than one, I could cut you a really good deal, though. :)

2010-12-15 [sequeena_rae]: *has a heart attack* I ain't spending £50 on a blanket! Very pretty though xx

2010-12-15 [Nioniel]: :D
I know it's expensive, but they do cost quite a bit to make.

2010-12-15 [sequeena_rae]: They are lovely, my mum crocheted one for me when I was a baby :) With one hand!! Clever mother.
I would love to have one but the costs to me would just be too much x

2010-12-15 [Nioniel]: If you had a price range that you'd like to keep one in or under, I could look into the prices of different materials and see what I can do.

2011-05-17 [Calico Tiger]: These are beautiful :)

2011-05-17 [Nioniel]: Thank you! :)

2011-05-17 [Calico Tiger]: And agreed on the prices, btw. They're expensive to make. I guess the only way to make them cheaply is to shear the sheep and make the yarn yourself and try to use all the cheapest stuff. But most people can't do that :-/ And you wouldn't get baby-acceptable yarn in that case. The yarn doesn't sound bad in price until you realize how many skeins it takes to go into a blanket D:

2011-05-17 [Nioniel]: Especially when high-quality yarn is used. I could use cheaper brands like Red Heart but it snaps so easily that I wouldn't want to. :/

I'm glad you like what's up here. :)
