2007-01-16 [ArchangelGabriel]: You say that, but it's a continuous novel, this is only the first volume, I've got plans for another 10-20 comics in this volume, depending how far from reality i dare to walk... It won't be long before i post the next comic which finally has some answers. I still need reference pics for the characters, the sketch-up images have all been sorted. Still, criticsm is more than welcome, so please, any other points, do note them...

2007-01-16 [Yoruno]: Wow, 20 volumes! O__O That's a long story... I've never been able to plan something so long... ^^;; But I really like it... it's quite intriguing! The start, with those codenames reminds me a bit of the Matrix...

2007-01-16 [ArchangelGabriel]: Nope, I've planned 5 volumes of about 20 pages each. I'll admit it begins a lot like the matrix but it ends up as something much more based in reality. I love the name Squonk. Everyone else says it sounds stupid or made up :P It's very symbolic of her character in fact, the Squonk is like a banshee, always heard but never seen. Instead of a scream, instead all that is heard is it's sobs through the hemlock forests. it is said to be an ugly creature with horrible skin that is ill fitting and covered in boils. One man supposedly hunted the squonk by following it's frozen tears. He caught is in a bag but when he looked to see what it was like all that remained was a puddle of tears n the bottom of the bag. (don't you love being able to put more text than before in comments ;) )

2007-01-17 [ArchangelGabriel]: Apparently the squonk haunts the hemlock forests of pennsylvania. It's pretty obscure, I've only seen it turn up in one, very old book, must have been published about 35 years ago...

I think Genesis did an album called the squonk...

2007-01-17 [Yoruno]: Oh... it reminds me a bit of the japanese Crying babies... whwn you're in the forest, and you listen a baby crying, you must be very careful, because if you follow the sound, you can be trapped by an evil spirit that actually cries like a baby....

2007-01-17 [Yoruno]: ô__O What's that...? Reminds me of the monsters the spanish people thought existed in America 5 centuries ago... creatures with one foot that they used as umbrellas to protect from the sun, cyclops, humans with ears so big that they touched the floor... quite a museum! ^^;;

2007-01-18 [ArchangelGabriel]: it's so hard to come by a decent book of myths these days *shakes head* they're all so skewed by modern fantasy. Tolkien was the last true to life fantasy author i would say... i was very disappointed with Rowling when she introduced that basilisk, she should have known better..

2007-01-18 [ArchangelGabriel]: True, the films weren't very good. There was just too much detail, you can't do that and get so many special effects in.

2007-01-18 [ArchangelGabriel]: To fit the graphics...That whole chase across the rooftops with the dragon was totally unrealistic and unnecessary :P done only for the effects..

2007-01-18 [ArchangelGabriel]: It's very rare for a film to live up to your expectations from a book. I rather liked the hogfather though, not any better than the book as good as a film of it could be..

2007-01-18 [Estantia]: hogfather actually stuck to the plot. harry potter doesn't. I saw how they butchered prisoner of Azkaban and have refused to watch the fourth as the book is my favourite...

2007-02-05 [ArchangelGabriel]: i know it isn't, i just feel that it shows a slight disrespect for the author. I think most people like to write stories or draw them. But when you use some one else's characters, it's like taking a part of some one else's soul and just twisting it into your own mould and that just seems disrespectful. I admit that much fanfic is imaginative and often well written but i feel it's a skill better used on their own works...

2007-02-05 [Estantia]: however if you stay true to their characters and worlds as well as write them well they can be just as good, and possibly better than half the things the official companies do to them. star trek is a prime example of this, all the thought that went into it originally seems to be being forgotten, leading it to become worse quality and causing the fans grief...
