"Yes. I'm excited about that, it will be fun to work again." Tegi smiled again. He looked around the room, it was quite open and looked much like the first time he had been there. Some people moved around, busy in one way or another. He could see some woman leading what seemed to be a stolen slave into a room, probably to talk to him about his options. Tegi remembered his 'talk' and the frustration he had felt. But this slave would probably thank the gods for his luck of being offered their help.
"Good." Lewis grinned. "So what other plans do you have for today?"
"I don't really have any plans. I was thinking about shopping some groceries, but that's prtty much it.." Tegi grinned sheepishly. "Not very exciting, I'm afraid." He definetly wouldn't mention the bloodied clothes he needed to wash, he suddenly remembered them, all soaking to keep the stains from drying. He'd get time for that too before Aron got home, he hoped.
"Ah, well, I don't have much exciting to do either. Mostly some chores around the building while I wait for the next case to come in." Lewis smiled.
"
"That's life I guess, waiting and doing chores." Tegi grinned. "But I should probably be heading back. I like to keep dinner ready when Aron gets home, he appreciates it." He smiled a bit.
Lewis chuckled a bit and nodded. "I'm sure he does. Anyone would after a long day of work, I'd say. Well, it was nice seein' you again. Don't be a stranger." He smiled.
"You too." Tegi smiled before he left to buy that food and head back to the appartment.
The apartment was quiet and empty by the time Tegi returned. Aron was still dealing with his own problems.
The first thing he did was to wash out the blood of those clothes. He blamed himself for having forgotten it, even if it didn't matter much since he'd get it done before Aron got home anyway. Then he started on the food and made some wood carving, using his beads to decorate an image of two fighting pumas he was caving into the board. If nothing else he could put it up in the restaurant. His restaurant. He smiled as he worked on it, cross legged and focused.
A little while later, Aron returned. He was completely unharmed and looked content. He smiled when he saw Tegi. "Hello there! How's your day been?" He grinned, peering over his shoulder to see what he was doing.
"Oh, it's been great. I've washed the clothes, the food will be ready any minute and I visited Lewis, he's back from that trip now." Tegi smiled. "And yours?"
"Well enough." Aron smiled, "Nothing too unusual happened, thankfully."
"Always a good sign." Tegi still smiled, but he got a faintly uncertain expression as he thought of the unusual event last night. Or maybe it wasn't that unusual, but he hadn't missed Arons satisfied smile when he injured the other assassin. Not that Tegi blamed him, it was just so strange and frightening to see that look on the face of the person he loved. The entire night was an event Tegi rather forgot about. But he didn't regret that he had come out or that he had helped, whatever little he could do.
Aron smiled and nodded. "So, what's for dinner? I'm starved."
"Nothing fancy I'm afraid, just some boiled vegetebles and a steak." Tegi grinned. "I hope you like it." He got up from his sitting position, looked at the floor a moment, hesitating to decide wether he should sweap up the shavins from the wood or check the food, first. But the food were more urgent since Aron was hungry, so he left the shavings on the flooe for now and tended to the food. It should be ready, and a feel with the knife at the vegetebles and stinging it in ythe meat, he was sure. He placed Arons portion on a plate on the table before serving himself. It only took a few seconds to whip up a sauce from the spiced and salted leftovers of the oils and butter he'd used to keep the meat moist and tasty while cooking it.
Aron sat down to dinner and quickly dug in. "Just some boiled vegetables and steak he says." The demon chuckled, "Goodness, Tegi. This is delicious."
Tegi laughed back. "And you say
that so often I can barely take you serious anymore. But I'm glad you like my food."
Aron grinned, "I can't help it if you make ridiculously good food. Before you came along I mostly ate rice, so I'd say this is a big improvement."
"Hm. Rice you say? I havn't made much rice now when I hink of it.. perhaps I should,.." he pondered.
"Hah!" Aron laughed a bit. "I've had enough rice to last me quite a while, but I'm sure if you fixed it up with one of your recipes you'd make me love it again."
"I bet you would." Tegi grinned. "I think I'll take that as a challenge, actually.. making rice tasteful for you again."
"Please try." Aron laughed, "I'm sure you'll perform a miracle with it."
"Don't expect too much." Tegi grinned. "But I'll try. It could be useful in the restaurant too, rice is cheap, easy to keep warm and to mix with other flavours.." He smiled as he thought about it. "I already have an idea of what to do."
"Excellent!" Aron smiled, "Everything should be settled by tomorrow, in terms of what's going in. You'll definitely be able to go into business by next week."
"I can barely wait.. but I can't help to be a bit nervous too.." Tegi smiled sheepishly. "I've never done anything like this before.. I just hope I won't mess it up too much.."
"I'll be there to help you along, you know." Aron smiled. "You're not alone in this."
"Thank you, I know you are." Tegi smiled fondly. "If it wasn't for you, it would never be possible in the first place. And legally, the restaurant is yours anyway it would be stupid to let me mess it up too bad." He grinned.
Aron chuckled a bit, "I might legally own it, but you're getting all the profit."
"If I'll manage to make any profit.." Tegi was a bit doubtful of that, still. "For now, I just hope it balances out evenly.. and I think I need some help to calculate how much I need to get from each meal to pay all the expences..." He blushed bit, feeling a bit stupid fr having to ask for help. But although he did his best to learn and wasn't all that stupid, the numbers summed up a little too high for him to really manage it. Once he had an idea of what he needed to get though, he believed he could figure the details himself.
"Of course." Aron smiled. "That's what I'm here for."
Tegi smiled through the faint blush. "I hope you can see how much I appreciate that, Aron."
"Of course, darling." Aron smiled. He'd finished his food and sat back with a sigh of contentment.
Tegi returned to his own food, which was getting cold, and quickly finished it. Then he swiftly washed off the dishes and put away the leftovers, perhaps he'd like something to chew on later that evening. "I better sweap up those shavings.." he said more to himself, but then, again, hesitated and moved up behind Aron. "Or prhaps you prefer some massage?" he smiled as he carefully rubbed the demons shoulders.
Aron grinned, "You know I always prefer a massage." He relaxed back in his chair a little more, shutting his eyes with a small smile.
"If it were up to you I'd never get to keep this place tidy." Tegi grinned as he moved in closer and nibbled at Arons neck.
Aron's grin widened. "I think I'd be perfectly fine with living in a pigsty if that were the case..."
"Of course." Tegi grinned and kissed him, but then moved away a bit, just to massage the shoulders again. He let his hands softly but firmly caress the muscles and small bolts of energy moved in to ease any knots and tensions even more efficient than just his bare hands.
Aron nearly fell asleep just by these gentle movements. He sighed a little, quite relaxed.
Tegi smiled to himself, both happy and a bit proud to be able to help Aron relax like that. He kept on it for quite a while, gently working his way through all tension he culd find. "Perhaps we should just go to bed." he suggested quietly and gently, as if to not wake Aron up too abruptly from the surely well deserved rest.
"Mm, that would be more comfortable...
" Aron agreed, his voice a murmured slur. After a moment, he found the strength to get up, shuffling his feet to get to the bedroom where he quickly collapsed into the bed.
Tegi chuckeled a bit at Arons appearant drowsiness and gently helped him off with his clothes, taking the opportunity to stroke or masage any possibly sore muscles wherever he could, but for now he didn't try to get any closer. He just aimed to get Aron as relaxed as he possibly could. He was too keen on being alert and focused most of the time, as far as Tegi concerned. Of course that would be a good thing when out to kill people, but one needed to relax properly as well to keep the balance. As far as Tegi figured it at least.
Aron certainly appreciated being allowed to relax for once. He was in a sort of half-asleep state by then, really only aware of Tegi and what he was doing to him. Considering the night before, he needed this.
In some strange way, it was relaxing for Tegi as well and he could focus entirely on Aron and the living tissue beneth his fingers. The slow drain of energy used to reduce the knots and relax the muscles, made him good too. It wouldn't build up to any collected amount of energy eithr, it seemed to be a different kind, simply desolving itself into comfort, much like a well needed sleep. After an hour of this, Tegi sank down next to Aron and closed his eyes, ready to just fall into a sleep himself.
It took only a moment after Tegi fell asleep for Aron to do the same. He hadn't felt quite that comfortable in a very, very long time.
Not having lost his old habits completely, Tegi woke early and made them breakfast. He sang quietly to himself, some times it was a clear song and some times just a humming of sorts.
"I always like it when you sing." Aron said with a grin as he walked into the kitchen to see what Tegi had for him.
Tegi jumped a bit, he hadn't heard when Aron came in, and blushed as he smiled a bit. "You shouldn't scare me like that!" he exclaimed, but it wasn't seriously meant. He had made them oatmeal filled out with some nuts and seeds as well as dried fruits.
Aron laughed, "You live with a demon and don't expect to be scared every once in a while?" He sat down to eat, smiling at seeing that it was oatmeal. He rather liked oatmeal.
"Oh, yes of course." Tegi answered calmly. "I expect to be scared just as much as I expect to get whipped or beaten whenever you're bored, sir." he had spoken in an oddly submissive tone that didn't quite match the frankness in the words if it wasn't for the grin luring behind it all.
Aron snorted, "Call me sir again and you'll get your expectations fulfilled, kid." He grinned, though, his green eyes dancing.
Tegis grin widened. "As you wish.. sir."
"Agh! Brat." Aron scoffed. "You'll pay for that."
"I'm sure I will." Tegi grinned. "I'm looking forward to it." he added before he finished his breakfast.
"You're incorrigible." Aron sighed, chuckling a bit.
"Admit it, that's what you like so much with me, isn't it?" Tegi said with a barely hidden smile. "I wouldn't stay quiet and behave even when I did fear you."
"It's true." Aron laughed, "I hate boring people."
"I seriously believed that elf was out of her mind when she decided to just give me away to you." Tegi shok his head. "I'm glad to be wrong." he grinned. "Remind me to thank her if we meet her again."
"Oh, I'm sure we'll see her sometime or other. Not sure when exactly, but they live a long time." Aron chuckled a bit.
Tegi smiled. "I'll keep my hopes up, then."
Aron smiled back before finishing up his breakfast. He then pushed stood up with a sigh. "Well, I'd better get going. Can't let the whole day go to waste."
"Waste? Is that what spending time with me is?" Tegi teased but the smile showed that he wasn't serious. "Take care."
"Hmph!" Aron chuckled, "I will. And you take care of yourself too, eh?" After cleaning up a bit and checking his appearance, Aron left for the Court.
Taergi was talking with someone when he noticed Aron. He excused himself and walked over to the demon, the green color of his clothes made his orange eyes stand out and his long hair was loose and almost black - as a fact he used some paprica powder when he washed it which gave it a darker shade. "Aron, do you have a moment?" he asked when he was close enough, and smiled. It was a genuine smile even if it had a slight hint of wariness to it, since he didn't really know Aron that well.
Aron had just arrived and was on his way to one of the smaller parlors where the ladies tended to spend their time in gossip while they waited for their husbands or whatever amusement they had planned for the day. He was quite surprised when the faerie came up to him. He'd met him up and vaguely remembered his name was Taergi, but otherwise didn't really know much about him. "Yes, of course. How can I help you?" He asked curiously, his eyes a bright green today. He, of course, thought there might be a job needing to be done.
"Ah, well it's not that important, really." Taergi smiled again. "But I've understood that you tend to get information of various things quite early. I was merely wodering if you've heard anything about a merchant from Evines lately?"
"Evines, Evines..." Aron tapped his chin, trying to remember. He felt that there was something he'd overheard. "I think I might have. Do you remember what he was selling?"
"Horses, actually." Taergi smiled again. "They have the best horses there. I'm concidering to invest in his next trip."
"Ah, yes! I do remember!" Aron nodded with a bright smile. It showed off his sharp teeth, but it was obviously a cheerful one. "Lady Sintern was saying how her husband was expecting a visit from a merchant from Evines in a short time. Selling some prized racers, so I heard. Let me see...I believe he's to be in town by the first of next month. Was there anything more you wanted to know about him?"
Taergis smile changed a bit, looking more like a grin. "Is there anything more you know about him?" Of course, anything that could gve a hint on wether he'd really be a good and trustworthy person to lend money to would be welcomed.
"Not a whole lot, unfortunately. She couldn't remember his name, for instance. She remembered that he was handsome, but Lady Sintern thinks most men are handsome." He snorted a bit, "Anyway, I believe she noted his kindness towards his animals. Firm, but not cruel. She admired that about him,a s well as his looks."
"Yes, she does seem quite ... fond of most men." Taergi agreed with a small smile. He was really till thinking of his buisness, but then put that aside. "Well thank you, if he's dealing with Sintern I'm sure he's a decent merchant. They're not easily fooled."
"No, Lord Sintern has a keen eye for business, I've noticed." Aron nodded with a smile. "And you're welcome. I assume you're interested in doing business with this merchant? Buying a new horse?" He grinned a bit. With no place to keep one, the demon usually borrowed a horse from someone if he needed one.
"I might need a new horse, actually." Taergi confessed. "But my main interest is not to buy one for myself, but to buy a few show horses." He offered a loopsided grin. "You know, make easy money. Buy a prospect, have it win a few shows and sell it for three or four times the initial price."
"Ah, yes. I hear that's becoming quite a lucrative business." Aron nodded. "I'm sure he'll have a few that would suit your needs quite nicely."
"I hope so, but thouse mountain horses are good, I've heard." Taergi actually enjoyed chatting with Aron, the demon wasn't so.. strung up.. as some of the faeries around. "How about you, do you have any busness besides hanging around here all day?"
Aron laughed at the question. He wouldn't say what he did, obviously. That was something that generally passed around to those who needed it and didn't to those who didn't want his services. "I fear most of my time is spent around here, for one reason or another. But I'm about to jump into a little business venture of my own. I'm sponsoring someone for a restaurant they hope to open soon. Should be interesting, if nothing else, and I think it'll be good for him." He smiled. He saw no reason to mention that Tegi was his slave.
"Oh, really? A restaurant? That's always good buisness." Taergi smiled, definetly a little interested, even if the 'good for him' seemed like a strange reason to risk any money. "Is there any speciality to this restaurant, or how do you think it will manage the competition of other, already established places?"
"As far as I know, it has a unique concept. Food that can be made fairly quickly and kept warm so that people can come in and get a quick meal, rather than waiting for it to be made. I'm thinking it'll be popular with the working class in particular. They generally have short lunch breaks. The prices will be low as well, since the meals will be fairly simple." Aron replied easily.
Taergis interest perked, that was a good idea. Very good. "It definetly sounds like a good thing to invest in. I can imagine that to work out very well."
"So I hope." Aron chuckled, "I've never heard of it, anyway. And I've done my share of traveling."
"Let me know when it has opened, I get the feeling I'd like to try that food out myself." Taergi smiled.
Aron smiled brightly, "A customer already! I have hope for this venture! But I will definitely let you know. Along with everyone else who knows anybody." He grinned.
Taergi laughed a bit. "That sounds good, indeed. Thinking of it, what say you about a dinner sometime? I do enjoy chating with you."
"Dinner sounds lovely, actually." Aron smiled, brightening up noticeably. "I'm afraid I can't tonight, but I'm free essentially every other night you can think of." He grinned a little. He wouldn't go tonight because he wanted to let Tegi know ahead of time. It would be a shame if he wasted food on a dinner the demon wouldn't even eat.
"How about next friday?" There were no reason to rush it. And Taergi had some other things to attend to.
"Sounds like we have a plan." Aron smiled, holding out his hand to shake on it.
Taergi took his hand and smiled. "Great! Well, I need to get going. It was nice talking to you."
"Same here. I'll talk to you later about dinner." Aron smiled and turned to join the ladies, who'd been waiting impatiently for their favorite demon.
Taergi went to attend to his own buisness.
That evening, Aron returned home quite pleased with himself. He'd gained some valuable information and planned to send it off to his contacts soon. "I'm home!" He called into the apartment as he entered.
"Welcome, love." Tegi smiled. He of course had dinner ready, some steak this day. He had clened the apartment as well. Not that it had been that necessary.
Aron smiled back, slipping an arm around him as he came into the kitchen and kissing the top of his head affectionately. "Mm, something smells good." He grinned.
"You should be used to that now." Tegi laughed. "I made you some icecream for dessert too."
"Ah, now. I don't really want to get used to it." Aron grinned, "And ice cream! Heavens above, lad, I didn't know you knew how." He smiled, clearly delighted at the prospect. He had quite a sweet tooth.
Tegi grinned. "It's not that hard." Not that he found any type of cooking really difficult, though. "I hope you like chocolate flavour." He put the plates with food on the table, but looked up at Aron with a slight grin. "I've learnt a little about the crystal.. and it's magic."
"Chocolate's my favorite." Aron grinned as he sat down to dinner. He looked up in surprise when Tegi mentioned the crystal. "Oh?" He was excited to hear that he'd been working on it. "What have you learned?" He smiled.
"Well.. it helps me control water.. And when you drain energy from water, it becomes ice. That's how I made the icecream.. or..I didn't manage to freeze the cream and such, of course.. but I froze some water in the sink and put the bowl with the ingredients in it and stirred.. and managed to keep the temperature low enough.." he trid to explain.
Aron listened with rapt attention. He smiled at the explanation. "This is fantastic! I'm so proud of you." He smiled.
Tegi blushed and smiled at the prase, he still didn't seem used to it. "Thank you."
"I knew you'd get the hang of that thing in no time." Aron grinned. "You're too smart not to." He ate a bit before remembering something. "Oh, I forgot to say. I'll be eating out next Friday night. I've been invited to dinner."
"Oh? Where?" Tegi asked, looking up from hs food.
"Haven't decided on the particulars yet, but it's from the Treasurer of the State. He's an interesting fellow. Seemed quite intrigued by the idea of your restaurant." Aron smiled.
"You told him about that?" Tegis eyes widened a bit and then he blushed, as if he was embarrassed. "It.. It might not work out.. perhaps nobody likes the food..or.."
"Well, he seemed interested in my business ventures." Aron shrugged, "And that's about it for me at the moment, so it seemed right to tell him. Besides, if it does work out, he might be interested in making an investment in it. Getting investors is a good thing." He grinned.
"Is it?" Tegi still seemed insecure, but smiled a bit. "What good can that do?"
"Well, investors bring in more money, which makes it easier for us to expand the business. I'm not poor by any means, but it's a lot to take it all on by myself." Aron explained with a small smile.
"I.. understand.." Tegi answered, although he wondered if they had to expand at all. They had the place and as far as he knew they'd get the equippment and food to start with. But if Aron wantd it to epand later on.. well, there was no need to talk about it now. "I was thinking of a name.. The Shifting Cat..I thought about your friends.. the shapeshifter and the cat hybrid in Evines..." he looked at Aron a bit insecure, trying to see if he'd like the name. He hoped to get some time for those calculations as well, and he wanted to ask if he could go there tomorrow to check on the kitchen and such. He wanted to get a feel for it before he opened. But first it would need a name.
Aron blinked a bit, but then grinned broadly. "I like it! And I'm sure Cai and Zanera would find it highly amusing, were they to see it."
Tegi was relieved. "I'll start making a sign for it then...And perhaps you could help me with those number.. if you have the time for it?" he asked, still a bit insecure. "It can wait of course.." he just wanted to get it done.
Aron smiled. "Of course I can help you, love. I always have time for you. What do you need help with exactly?"
"Im not sure how much I need to earn each week and how much I need to get on the meals.." Tegi smiled a bit. "Or how much I could sell.."
"Ah, right, of course." Aron nodded. "For right now I think we should focus on getting any profit at all and we can tweak the prices later on to increase that profit. That'll make it easier to focus on attracting attention and getting things moving. Don't worry too much about the money just yet, since I've plenty."
"I just don't want you to loose money each month." Tegi grinned a bit.
"Hopefully that won't happen." Aron chuckled. "But we'll figure it all out, don't you worry."
"I know. I just need some help with those numbers... I need to learn anyway.."
"Of course. I'll look for a few books or something that might help me teach you. I'm not exactly a business manager." He smiled a bit.
"And here I thought you knew everything." Tegi teased. "Perhaps I.." he was interupted by a knock on the door. It was starting to be a familiar knock, sounding just like the other two times Shai had visited.
Aron looked up with a faint frown. He recognized the knock, and considering what had happened previously with that particular family he was in no hurry to get involved with them again. Nevertheless, he stood up and opened the door a crack. "Yes?" He asked warily.
It was Shai standing on the other side, his ears flat back and he just glanced up at Aron briefly before staring down at the floor again. "My master asked me to come and get you." he said an a small voice. "Please come with me."
Aron's eyes narrowed, "What does he want me for? Our business is done, as far as I'm concerned. Well, perhaps not with Ra'ex..." He said the word name as if it left a bad taste in his mouth.
"It's about, Ra'ex, sir..." Shai answered, but obviously didn't want to say much more. "Please.. I'm not sure I dare to go back without you.." he finally said in a quiet voice. "He's drunk, sir.."
"Who is?" Aron asked, frowning. "Ra'ex?"
"No, sir.. My master, Terrass.." Shai answered quietly, still nervous. In fact, that was probably the whole reason that he was insecure and nervous to start with. Terrass was normally a decent owner, strict but fair. And Shai didn't have any fear for Aron since he didn't see any reason for the demon to get aggressive with him, and the slave hadn't been unreasonable punished often enough to expect random beatings from anyone. But when Terrass was drunk, he wasn't that predictable, or fair. In his intoxicated mind he could blame Shai for not being able to pursue Aron to come along, and that made Shai nervous.
"So let me get this straight." Aron said slowly, "Your drunk master wants me to come talk with him about Ra'ex?" He shook his head a bit, but sighed. "I suppose I'll come with you, for your sake at least. I'd rather you didn't get in trouble. Let me get a few things and then you can lead the way." Turning, he grabbed his swords, slinging them behind his back before pulling his coat on over them to keep them hidden. Once he was sufficiently armed, he nodded to Shai to go.
"Thank you, sir." Shai said relieved and waited, less nervous. The weapons didn't bother him the least. Once Aron was ready, he lead the way. It was the same house and room as before, and no signs of magic or traps at all. Shai went into the room to anounce Arons precense, his body language became much more cautious when he did so, but that wasn't very strange.
"The bastards here now? Let'im in.." Terrass voice were obviously drunk, and strangely upset.
Shai opened the door for Aron, he was grateful that the demon had come with him to endure this unpleasant meeting.
Terrass looked at Aron already before he came in, he held a glass of wine in one hand and leaned on the window sill. His other hand held a crumbled piece of paper. He could still stand and walk.. but not very well. He was angry, and possibly a bit afraid.. or was it worried?
"Have you taken him? What have you done to him?!" he demanded when he saw Aron.
Aron raised an eyebrow at the sudden accusations, but remained calm. Drunkards were unpredictable, but not exactly difficult to avoid if necessary. "Done to whom?" He asked evenly, "If you're speaking of Ra'ex, then I unfortunately have not laid a finger on him yet." His eyes were a cold, dark grey. He did not forgive such trickery.
Terrass watched him, as if he tried to decide if he could believe him. "You have not taken revenge on Rataxesto?" he asked finally, finding it difficult to believe. "You have not made him write this? Then who would do it?" he waved a bit with the paper, which seemed to be a letter, written by Ra'ex. It had bloodstains on it and more or less told Terrass that his nephew Ra'ex were going to die a slow, agonizing death. Terrass moved towards Aron, but stopped halfway since his head spun too much. He had a desperate, almost begging expression, as if he wanted it to be Arons work. If it had been, he would at least know who to blame, perhaps even be able to buy him free. For some reason he seemed to like Ra'ex a lot. "Please let him go.. I'll give you anything you want.."
"Terrass, I don't have anything to do with your nephew's disappearance." Aron growled, "Are you even sure he's gone? He might be framing me, for all I know. After all, he tried to kill me earlier. I wouldn't put it past him to try and arrest me next. What does the letter say?" The demon was looking far from pleased at having to deal with the hysterical, irrational man.
Terrass finally decided to believe him and slumped himself in a chair. "It doesn't frame you... I just don't know anyone else that would hurt him.. or had the power to do this." He let the paper fall to the table. "The letter merely say that he wil be torn apart piece by piece.. it doesn't even ask for a ransom.." he seemed to sober up somewhat when he sat down. "I didn't know what he was up to when he wanted me to hire you." he confessed. "I believed he had some quarrel with Melissa, that's what he said.."
"No, only a quarrel with me because I denied him a toy and told him to leave." Aron remarked dryly. He remained standing. "I won't deny the fact that I was intending on making him suffer for what he tried to do to me. Whoever this is simply got to him first." There was a certain touch of jealousy in the demon's voice. He considered Ra'ex's fate something he needed to deal with, and that someone else had taken that from him irked him somewhat. "Why do you care for him so much? As far as I've seen, he's the most pathetic excuse for a living creature I've seen in a long while." He spoke frankly, unafraid of Terrass's anger. He simply didn't care.
Terrass didn't get angry, though. He just smiled gently despite his worry. "I guess he is. Pretty spoiled too. But he's family, like a son for me." He got up and closed the bottle that had been opened. Appearantly he had decided not to drink any more, which was probably a good idea since he wasn't all that steady on his feet. "I'm sorry to have bothered you tonight. I did believe you were behind this.. now I need to find out who is. Before Ra'ex succedds in getting himself killed.."
Aron shook his head a bit. "I would wish you luck if I didn't despise the man. However, if you could let me know if you find him, that would be helpful. I like to know who I should be watching for when I'm out."
"If I tell you that, you'll just go after him too. You said it yourself, the other one just got to him first." Terrass sighed again. "You'll surely find out either way. He has never been that good at holding a low profile.."
Aron smirked a bit, "I suppose you make a good point. Well then, if that's all you needed from me, I'll be leaving." He turned towards the door.
Terrass looked after him. He felt like he should say something, but couldn't get the words out. So he remained silent.
Shai opened the door for Aron, no doubt had he heard everything. "Thank you." he said quietly as the demon left.
"It was only a favor to you, so you're welcome." Aron replied in an equally quiet tone.
Shai watched him walk away, with a slight blush. He wondered why the demon would ever do him a favor, but he was very grateful he had. With a sigh, he went back inside to aid his drunk master to the bedroom.
Tegi had waited in the appartment, not knowing how long it would take. Figuring Aron wouldn't be in a great mood when he returned, he had put some candles around to give a calmer, more inviting light in the rooms, made the bed and was sitting with a book, trying to read.
Finally returning to his apartment (and with only a slight mishap in that he thought he saw a suspiciously Tristram-like bird watching him from a windowsill before it flew off), Aron was indeed in a bad mood. However, upon seeing the candles, he tilted his head a little and felt the anger melt away. Taking off his coat and swords, he sighed a bit before wandering into the bedroom. He gave Tegi a tired smile. "Well hello there. I'm sorry I kept you waiting."
"I don't mind." Tegi smiled and put the book away. He didn't want to ask what happened since he figured it wasn't a cheerful talk anyways. "Would you like a little massage?"
"Yes please." Aron chuckled a bit as he took off his clothes, leaving only his underwear before climbing into bed next to Tegi.
Tegi used all his skills to make Aron relax again. "It was very kind of you to go with him.."
"Just didn't want him to get hurt because of my stubbornness..." Aron mumbled, his eyes closed as his muscles relaxed.
"Your stubborness to not go to meet drunk men who's tried to kil yoy, just because they call for you?" Tegi grinned. He kept his voice soft though. "Most would have found that reasonable to refuse."
"There were extenuating circumstances." Aron grinned a bit, "And besides, he didn't know he was trying to kill me. That was Ra'ex's plan."
"If you say so." Tegi chuckeled and worked on the now rather relaxed muscles, just to lean closer and nibble at Arons neck.
Aron's grin widened. "Ah, you always know just what I need..."
"What you need? How do you know it's not what I need, being lockred up here all day.." Tegi teased and let his hands and lips continue..
"Locked up! As if." Aron laughed quietly.
Tegi just grinned. The next morning, everything started as normal. Tegi woke up and made the breakfast.
Aron came into the kitchen soon after, yawning. "Good morning, dear."
"Good morning. I figured I could go and see the restaurant today.. the deal is closed and all now, isn't it?" Tegi asked cheerfully as he served the breakfast.
"Yes!" Aron smiled brightly. "I'll take you there myself, if you'd like. They haven't quite got all of the furniture and appliances in, but they should be working on it."
"Yes, I'd like that a lot." Tegi smiled widely.
"Good. Just let me grab a bite to eat and get dressed, and we can head right over there." Aron smiled, glad to see Tegi so happy.
"Of course, no need to hurry." Tegi smiled. He wanted to finish his breakfast as well.
Finishing his breakfast a few moments later, Aron then went back into the bedroom to get into proper clothes. He finally came out again and waited by the door for Tegi.
Tegi was ready to go. He had managed to take a quick shower too.
"You smell nice." Aron noted with a chuckle as they left the apartment building and began to walk down the street.
"Aw, don't I always?" Tegi grinned. He was excited but managed to hide his emotions a bit as they went out in public. It would be unecessary to draw attention to him, at least. He wanted to get in and see the shop and get a feel for it, in his mind he was already placing furniture there.
They passed Shai on the way, he was doing his regular shopping chores. He smiled a bit when he saw Aron. Wether the demon realized it or not, he had made a friend of the slave. But then he ontinued his buisness.
Aron gave Shai a small nod and smile on the way. He was glad to see he was okay, at least. Eventually, they reached a small building sandwiched in between two taller ones. There was a small sitting area outside, like a patio, with the actual restaurant inside. Tables and chairs were stacked just inside the locked glass doors, and appliances had been set up inside as well. "Oh, good. They've already delivered everything." Aron smiled as he walked towards the door, fishing for the keys in his pockets.
Tegi eyed everything enthusiastically, the tables and the spot outside. He wated impatiently for Aron to unlock the doors. "It's perfect..!"
"I'm glad you approve." Aron grinned as he finally unlocked the doors and swung them open. There was a dining area, and then a counter in the back with the kitchen situated behind that, hidden by a wall and a doorway.
Tegi took his time to look around now when he finally got to see the inside properly, he was smilingall over. then went to the kitchen, looking at the stove and the space, figuring out how to use it and where to place the things he needed or used. "It's really great.." he went back to the furniture. "Can I move them?" he asked Aron, almost afraid to touch anything without his consent, and yet he would need to place them in the room, unless he wanted the guests to sit on piles of chairs at the wall.
Aron snorted, "Tegi! This is your restaurant. You can paint the walls lime green for all I care. I'm just helping you out, not running it."
Tegi just grinned back at him and started to place the chairs and tables around to get a better picture of it, and simply because they needed to be moved anyway. "I could have it runing in a few days.. I just need to make the menues..and set the prices.."
"There's no rush." Aron said easily as he watched him make his arrangements.
"Rush? Maybe not.. but I'm impatient." Tegi grinned. "I want to start with it"
Aron laughed, "And you will. In good time."
"What do you think?" Tegi asked when he had placed the chairs and tables. He had left a broad enough space to let people pass between the chairs and up to the counter. Some tables and chairs was left near the wall, he figured he'd take them out on sunny days. He looked in some boxes, grinning widely. "Plates and bowls and everything.. I could start right now if I wanted to.."
"I think you need food for that." Aron said with a chuckle.
Tegi laughed. "Of course, but it's early.. I could go and get some ingredients." He grinned. "Somehow I'm quite sure you would even give me money for it. But I need to set the prices first."
"And hopefully make a menu so people know what you're selling." Aron added, seemingly amused.
"Nah, they can ask.." Tegi grinned. "Of course I'll make a menue too.."
"Good, good." Aron chuckled a bit.
Tegi placed the bowls and plates in the kitchen too. "I guess that's all I can do for now.."
"What would you like to do now? I've opened up the day for you." Aron smiled.
"Well.. get some help with those numbers perhaps? I'd really like to open tomorrow if it's possible." He blushed a bit. "Or perhaps.. take a trip out of town?" he said, hesitantly. He was getting used to the city, but a little peace and quiet away from all people would be nice.
"Would you like to go out of town?" Aron tilted his head a bit. He rarely left Lirent nowadays, usually having so much to do within the city. "We can do that." He smiled. "There's a woodsy area with some paths, if you'd like to explore that."
"Yes.. I miss the peace and quiet of the mountains."Tegi smiled sheepisly. "I'd like to get out in the woods.. even if it will be just outside Lirent."
"Well let's go then." Aron smiled. "We've the whole day before us. No reason not to enjoy it."
Tegi grinned widely and left with Aron.
It was quite a walk out to the woods, but they made it past the city gates and onto the road by an hour or so before noon. "There it is." Aron pointed to the trees looming up ahead of them.
The walk alone had helped Tegi relax and he was in a great mood. "Have you been there before?" he asked, assuming Aron actually had been there, but figuring he could ask anyway.
"A couple times." Aron said with a faint smile. He did not add that most of those times had been to dump or burn bodies. "It's a really pretty area. The city has a committee that takes care of it, so the paths are always well-tended. There are some benches along the way, too."
Tegi noticed that something lied behind the words and smile, but decided not to look too closely into it. "It looks great." He was incredibly cheerful, he shop, being out of Lirent, it all helped to raise his mood several notches. He had probably not been as happy since he met Aron. He felt a little playful, even..
Once they entered the woods, it became perceptibly cooler, but not unpleasantly so. There didn't seem to be anyone about, and Aron was sure either he or Tegi would notice someone coming before they were upon them, so he took Tegi's hand in his own with a little smile.
Tegi squeesed Arons hand back, but was full of energy and barely managed to just walk quietly. He took deep breathes of the fresh air.
Aron noticed the jitteriness and glanced down at Tegi curiously. "Something the matter?" He asked.
"The matter? Not at all, everything's perfect!" Tegi grinned, then suddenly reached up and kissed Aron on the mouth quickly, before dancing away from him again, still grinning.
Eyes widening a bit in surprise, Aron watched Tegi with a bemused expression. "Clearly..." He regarded him a touch warily, "You seem awfully...enthusiastic, though."
"Shouldn't I be?" Tegis grin faded to a smile. "I could start sulking instead, if you'd rather..?" he grinned once more.
"Hah, no, please." Aron chuckled. "I like it when you're happy, of course. I was just wondering as to why."
"Ah well, fresh air and good company can do wonders to an opressed, poor slaves heart.." Tegi teased. "When's your birthday, Aron? I don't think you've told me."
"Hah! You're about as oppressed as the birds." Aron said with a chuckle. He blinked a bit when asked about his birthday. "Hm? Mine? Well, in my culture birthdays are only celebrated on certain milestone ages, like 13, 20, and on up. But I suppose the day by normal standards would be the 16th of January." He smiled.
Tegi snickered. "Birthdays should be celebrated every year. From now on I'll make sure to bake you a cake every january." he grinned.
"That, my dear, is because your culture tells you they should be celebrated every year." Aron grinned a bit, "But I haven't been among my own people for a while, so I suppose I can break with tradition."
"You don't have a say in the matter." Tegi grinned. "Unless you can resist my bakery, that is.."
"Ugh! No fair! You've brought out my weakness." Aron laughed.
"I knew you had a sweet tooth.." Tegi grinned. Then looked up as he heard a noise.
Aron looked up as well, tensing a bit. He narrowed his eyes a little, listening carefully for any more hint as to what it might've been.
"It's a.. bull.." Tegi said after a while, some more noises had been heard a little bit away. It was the smell that gave it away, he wasn't that close but Tegi did have a sensetive nose.
"A...Bull?" Aron looked over at Tegi with a frown. "What...Are you sure?"
"Smells like one.." Suddenly it was silent a few moments, then the rattle of bushes and sound of cloven hooves galloping their way was heard. Tegi froze.
"Now is not the time to freeze." Aron groaned, grabbing Tegi around the waist and hurling them both to the side. Looking up at the tree, he jumped up and snatched at the lowest branch, pulling himself up. Moving carefully, he moved back to hang by his knees and held his hand out to Tegi. "Grab hold and I'll pull you up." He said quickly, his eyes dark. He'd have to use a bit of magic to help with this, but if Tegi hurried up they'd have time.
Tegi reached up and grabbed Arons hands just as the bull turned and charged again. It was a big, black bull and it had a spear hanging from it's back, obviously not making it any calmer. The spear seemed to be nothing but a branch someone sloppily cut the leaves and side branches of, and probably had carved to a point.
"What the devil is that doing here?" Aron asked with a frown as he watched the bull charge around the area from his branch, holding Tegi close.
The agitated bull ran around the tree and even hit it once, before it finally decided to leave them and wandered off.
Once it seemed to have lost interest, Aron jumped down and helped Tegi after him. "That was...Extremely odd."
"You think?" Tegi asked, obviously it wasn't that odd to him. "Looks like some kids tried to kill it, but failed." He had noticed the spear. And he had done something similiar once when he'd been very, very hungry. It hadn't been a full grown bull though, and he had managed to kill it. But he had used the same type of ill carved spear. He'd probably get flogged if anyone had found out that he'd killed a calf from a neighbours herd, fortunatly the ill deed had been blamed on a mountain lion which had teared and eaten on the leftovers when Tegi and his companion had taken what they could.
"Why would they want to kill it?" As knowledgeable as Aron was about most things, he didn't exactly understand the country. The woods made sense to him, as did the city. They had similarities, even. But the country, with its farms and odd customs, had always eluded him in his attempts at understanding it. Why some kids would have any interest in killing a bull made no sense to the demon.
"I.. guess they were hungry?" Tegi said sheepishly. "Must be pretty desperate to try killing a bull with those but.." he shrugged. "There's lots of meat on it. Maybe it came loose, someone found it and was hungry enough to risk their lives killing it with a stick. I sure have been desperate enough sometimes.. just didn't get the opportunity. Or well.. I found less dangerous things to kill.."
Aron listened curiously. "Fascinating. I hadn't thought of that, but you're probably right." He shrugged, "Care to continue the walk, though?"
"That could be a good idea.. perhaps we'll find the guilty one lying somewhere, needing help.." Tegi thought of the danger whoever attacking the bull had put themselves in.
"Oh, right, of course." Aron nodded. He had simply wanted to continue the walk, but he supposed that was important too.
Tegi wasn't going to look for someone, but if he did see them he wanted to help. He simply assumed that Aron would help too. He smiled as they kept on walking.
The forest had grown rather quiet, after the bull charged through. Truthfully, it made Aron a little nervous. Birds should not go silent.
Tegi squeesed his hand, noticing the slight change of mood. "I'm happy you took me out here." he smiled gently. "I needed it more than I realized."
"Oh?" Aron asked with a smile down at him. He was still alert, but he at least seemed intent on ensuring Tegi was still having a good time.
"Yeah. I'm getting used to the crowded streets and constant noise inside Lirent.. but I need some peace and quiet sometimes." Tegi smiled. "Of course, it's worth it staying with you."
Aron grinned, "It's good to hear that I haven't completely ruined you by bringing you to the big, scary city."
"I'd be dead by now if it wasn't for you and you know it." Tegi grinned. "I'm still wondering sometimes if it's not just a dream and I'll wake up again, still serving master Karem.." he said as he looked a bit distant.
"Get up! Jip.. please get up..!" the voce was heard from the other side of a few bushes and it sounded like a child. It was a young boy, maybe nine years old, kneeling next to what could be his older brother. The other boy was fifteen and lied seemingly lifeless on the ground, a small wound was bleeding from the side of his had and his arm seemed broken. The ground were covered in hoofprints and a primitive spear, like the one in the bull, lied tossed and forgotten a few feet away. Both boys were poorly dressed and a bit dirty.
Aron looked up in surprise at the sound of the voice. He frowned, motioning for Tegi to follow him as he walked quietly over to the bushes. Pushing them apart, he peered through, observing the scene with a faint frown. Finally, he pushed forward. "Hello? Do you need some help?" He asked cautiously.
The boy looked up, startled. "I won't let you hurt him!" he said, all defensively. He obviously had very little trust in well dressed men.
Tegi watched the scene from behind Aron, not very surprised by the answer.
"I'm not going to hurt him." Aron said with a sigh, although he remained back for now. "I just want to see if I can help. What happened here? Was it that bull?"
"Y-yes.. it ran over him.." the boy said, still a bit wary and fearing his brothers life, trying to figure if Aron or the injury was worse.
"Will you let me take a look? I'm good at fixing injuries." He used his most soothing voice, even though he knew his appearance was probably not the most reassuring. If nothing else, his horns would be cause for worry.
The boy weighed from foot to foot a short moment, trying to decide if he wanted Aron there, but then nodded and stepped aside. He still watched Aron warily.
Tegi looked curiously at the both boys, but let Aron do the talking.
Aron walked forward slowly before kneeling down beside the stricken brother. Carefully, he reached his hand out to lay against his neck, feeling for a pulse.
The slightly older boy was alive and breathing, but unconsious. The pulse was slow and a bit faint but steady, as his breathes. Apart from the injry in the head and the odd angle of his arm, he seemed unharmed. He, like his brother, were very skinny, much like Tegi had been not so long ago.
Relieved to find the pulse, Aron turned his attention to the injuries. Examining the arm carefully, he frowned a bit. "Tegi, go find a long stick, if you can. I'm going to try and splint it so we can transport him." As he was telling him this, he was already taking off his coat. After that came his vest, and finally his shirt. Using a knife that he'd had on his belt, he cut the shirt up into strips. Using one of the longer ones, he carefully lifted the boy's head and began to wrap it around the injured area, making sure it was neither too loose nor too tight as he did so.
Tegi hurried to do as he was told and soon enough found a decently straight stick that was long enough, and gave it to the demon. If he'd had a knife he'd just cut one, but the one he found would do.
The boy still watched Aron when he started to undress and showed surprise when he shredded his shirt. He just glanced quickly at Tegi before focusing on Aron and his brother again. He was a bit worried when Aron mentioned transport, but since he had decided to let him help, he couldn't find any excuse to object. Not yet at least.
Taking the stick from Tegi when he came back, Aron carefully lifted the unconscious boy's arm, placing it underneath it. He wouldn't try to set it himself. He wasn't quite that skilled. Taking more of the shredded pieces, he began to tie them securely around both stick and arm to keep them together, working his way up from the wrist. Once he was finished, he slipped the knife back into its holster, pulling his vest and jacket back on over his bare chest. "We'll have to take him to a doctor." He told the brother.
"We.. we don't have money for the doctor.." the kid said, strangely aware of the importance of moey despite his age.
"You're not paying for it. I am." Aron told him, shaking his head. Leaning down, he slid his arms under the body of the other boy, lifting him carefully, making sure to support the head.
The kid and Tegi followed him quietly, Tegi made sure the brother came wth them properly and kept an eye on him.
The unconsious boy stirred some but didn't wake up.
Aron wished he'd brought a horse. It was a long way back to the town, and the doctors would be further into the city anyway. Taking a deep breath once they reached the edge of the forest, though, he started heading for there as quickly as possible.
He was pretty fast when he wanted to, and Tegi found himself half-running to keep up, dragging the boy with him.
The boy wasn't sure he wanted to get into the town, but he definetly wouldn't let his brother out of sight either so he came along, although feeling a bit distressed.
Some people saw them and looked at them, but none offered to help.
Aron didn't much mind the people's looks. He was used to them, especially when on the outskirts of the town. Once they came to the more business-like district, he began looking for a doctor, finally settling on one that looked respectable. "Tegi, could you get the door?" He asked him, his hands obviously full.
Tegi was already on his way to open the door once he had seen which doctor Aron chose. He just smiled softly as he held it open for Aron. The other boy followed hesitantly.
Hearing the door opening, the doctor peeked out from a room to the left, and came out when he saw Aron carrying someone. "What do we have here then?" he said, as he showed Aron to enter the room he himself had just come from. Inside there was an empty bed.
Aron came into the room, setting the boy down on the bed very carefully. "I was visiting with a less fortunate friend of mine who lives outside of the city." He explained smoothly, "Her boys were playing when a neighbor's bull got loose and charged for no reason." He shook his head, "I fixed him as best I could, but he obviously needs real medical attention. I'll be paying, so please do all you can for him." The lies came out of his mouth like water. He never batted an eyelash, and gave no reason for anyone to suspect he wasn't being entirely truthful.
Both Tegi and the younger boy was surprised by the lies. Tegi managed to keep a straight face, the boy not so much but fortunatly the doctor wasn't looking at either of them but focused only on the older boy. "I see..." he said absentmindedly as he looked over the injuries. He only took a quick look at the arm, found it wasn't any priority, opened the clothes and felt over the chest for any bruises or tensions that might indicate internal bleedings, but found none. Then he carefully investigated the head, opened the eelids, held a mirror to see the breathe. "I'll just have to set the arm straight and he'll be fine. He seems to have a concussion, so he'll need to rest a few weeks. I'll keep him here over the night." He looked up. "Could you come back tomorrow for him?"
Relieved to hear that it was nothing overly serious, Aron nodded. "I can. What time do you think that'll be?"
"Oh, He should be awake sometime before noon, and I'll set his arm straigh tonight." the doctor smiled.
The brother looked a bit insecure, he wasn't that keen on leaving his brother there, but he understood that he needed help.
"Sounds good to me. I'll be back tomorrow around noon, then." Aron said with a smile. "Thank you, doctor."
"No problem at all." The doctor smiled back, but his mind was already on the boy he cared for.
Tegi held the door for Aron when he seemed ready to leave.
"Come on then." Aron urged the boy as they left the doctor's office. "You'll have to stay with me for now, until your brother's fixed up."
The boy still hesitated a moment, but then resigned and came with Aron. He didn't want to leave his brother there, but what could he do?
Tegi came along as well, trying to memorize the way in case he'd need it some day.
They made their way back to the apartment with no problems, and in relative silence. Aron opened the doors for the other two, and once they were finally back in his own apartment, he sighed a bit and slipped off his coat. "So what's your name?" He asked the kid. "Tegi, why don't you get him something to eat? I'm sure he's starving."
"...Till.." the boy answered, watching Aron, still not sure if he should really trust him completely. Even if it probably was a bit too late to run if the demon by any means wanted him harm. Till just stood in the middle of the floor, not making any motion to go and look around or take a seat. His dirty clothes and feet was a contrast to the tidy apartment. "Why you'd help us?" he asked, the words came in a quick flow, as if he wasn't used to have enough time to speak at a regular pace.
Tegi just smiled boroadly and headed to the kitchen. He had been thinking the exact same thing, and figured he should make himself and Aron a good meal too.
Aron shrugged in response, "Because I don't leave kids hurt in the woods. Call it compassion, if you'd like. Why don't you go take a shower while the food's prepared?" He suggested, feeling uncomfortable answering these sorts of questions. He nodded towards the bathroom.
Till didn't look at the bathroom, but watched Aron seriously. For his age he had a very intense presence. Finally he decided to accept the shower, turned around and walked into the bathroom, shutting the door.
Tegi came out from the kitchen again, he had seen it all. "That kid's creeping me out." he said in a low tone.
Aron looked over at Tegi with a faint frown. "What? Why? I'll admit he's a little odd, but I would think living out in the woods would do that to you..What makes you worried?"
Tegi flashed a smile. "It's probably nothing. He's just.. strange.." He shrugged and returnd to his cooking.
"Well, if you're sure..." Aron scratched his head a bit. "But if you notice something more, you'll tell me, right?"
"Of course." Tegi answered with a grin. "But I'm pretty sure you'd detect any danger far before I do."
"Not necessarily." Aron smiled a bit, "I can be a little blinded at times, especially where children are involved."
" I promise to let you know if I notice anything." Tegi stole a kiss from him and the turned and stirred in a pot.
Aron smiled broadly at the kiss, ruffling Tegi's hair playfully before taking seat at the table.
Just as Tegi placed the plates on the table and the food was finished, Till came out from his shower. He had his old clothes back on, but then again he didn't have anything else to wear so it wasn't that strange. He looked at the food on the table and back at Aron again, not sure if he should sit down or not.
"Come on, kid. Take a seat." Aron beckoned him towards one of the chairs as he started in on his own plate.
Still concidering the options for a short moment, Till then sat down and without a word filled his plate and started eating hurriedly. He didn't care much for manners, but just shoved the food in as fast as he could.
Tegi glanced at him but didn't comment on it, he just sat down as well and got himself some food. He didn't feel like the boy was any threat and because of that didn't bother to keep a slave-like behaviour. He realized that he had become too used to acting like Arons peer. It had started to come natural.
Finding nothing unusual in either of the other two male's behaviors, Aron finished his own meal unhurriedly and enjoyed it as well. Once done, he smiled at Tegi and sat back.
Tegi smiled back. He was finished long ago, while the boy seemed determined to finish his second serving just as fast as the first. He managed and looked at the food that was left - it wasn't that much to be honest - with an expression that clearly revealed how he tried to figure out a way to place the rest of the food in his already full stomach. Tegi decided to clean the table before the boy ate himself to death.
"You'll be lucky if you don't make yourself sick." Aron said with a bit of a smirk.
The boy shrugged. "Never know when next meal is." he said shortly. "You're strange." he noted, if he put any judgement to that fact, his voice didn't reveal it. "First you help me and my brother. Then this slave of yours acts like he's an equal to you. He's not even hesitant about it, so you must be treating him as if he is. You dress like you have too much money and this whole place is drenched in magic.. but you're not a faerie.. far from. What are you hiding?" Till watched him, his young face didn't seem to fit very well with the words that came out of his mouth.
Listening with faint surprise, Aron tilted his head a bit. His eyes had changed to gold in the meantime, and were clearly curious. "You're one to be calling people strange..." He said with a small smile. "But I'm not exactly normal, no. And I'm certainly not a faerie." He chuckled, pointing to his horns. "Full demon here. But as for the other things, I'm certainly not hiding anything." He shrugged. It was a partial truth. No one could prove he was an assassin, and yet everyone knew that was what he was. It took a lot of careful tricks and lies to conceal that, but it worked.
"Yes you are." The boy answered, clearly not believing him when he said he wasn't hiding anything. It was too perfect. But, whatever Aron was hiding, Till didn't think it concerned him that much. Almost everyone was hiding things and it seemed unlikely that it was anything involving the boy himself. "If I'm right that you will continue to help my brother and I, do you have any place where I could sleep?" he remembered something, his brother had always tried to teach him to be polite. "And thank you for the dinner." he smiled, it almost looked honest and warm, but it was just rehearsed. He did appreciate the food of course, but his mind couldn't see the reason that he should be thankful for something someone else had willingly chose to do or give him.
Chuckling a bit when he realized that Till was not going to believe him, Aron nodded at the question about the place to sleep." You're welcome. And yes, of course. You can sleep on the couch here. I'll make it up for you so you can sleep."
Tills smile turned a bit more genuine.
"Right, well. I'll just go get the sheets and stuff and get things ready for you." Aron said as he turned to disappear into the bedroom for a bit.
Till moved over to the couch in the meanwhile, taking his time, and Tegi made sure to wash the dishes and have the kitchen clean and nice before they went to bed. Till looked up at Aron when he came back. "Will we get my brother back tomorrow?"
"We certainly will." Aron said with a smile as he returned, beckoning him to come off the couch for a moment as he spread the sheets and blanket out, putting a bigger pillow down at one end. "And he should be all patched up then as well. Then you two can decide where to go from there."
(He wasn't sitting there before Aron was done xD oh well)
Till nodded thoughtfully. "Alright. Goodnight." When Aron was done he slipped in under the blanket and fell asleep almst immediatly.
(It didn't sound like that. D: But okay.)
Aron watched him for a moment, then walked over to Tegi. "Ready for bed?" He asked, smiling a bit as he slid his hand around the other's waist.
Tegis face split into a grin. "I'm always ready for your bed." he said, just a tad mischievously, and let Aron lead him back to the bedroom.
In the morning, Aron woke up slowly, grumbling to himself about how he should have picked an occupation that didn't leave him sore and achy every morning.
Tegi had slept late and woke up by Arons unhappy noises. He smiled softly and massaged the demons muscles gently.
At the feeling of Tegi's hands, Aron relaxed with a lazy sort of smile. "Well good morning." He mumbled, turning slightly to look over at him.
"And good morning to you." Tegi grinned. "Slept well? You could stay in bed untill I've managed to get the breakfast ready."
"Oh, well enough." Aron said with a chuckle, as he rolled over to pull Tegi close to him, "But I think I'd rather stay with you a moment then let you go get breakfast ready."
"Aron!" Tegi laughed. "Well, your wish is my law.." he grinned and kissed him.
Aron laughed as well, kissing him back rather cheerfully. "And for once I'm glad of it." He smirked, "You're much too warm and sweet to let you leave so quickly."
"Oh am I?" Tegi grinned but didn't quite manage to be less warm and sweet. He just cuddled closer to Aron.
"Definitely." Aron chuckled, holding him close. They stayed like that for a time, but eventually they would have to get up. After all, they had to get back to the doctor's office by noon. "All right, I suppose we can't stay here all day." He chuckled.
"So you finally got to your senses? Good, I was started to get hungry." Tegi grinned, got up, dressed and darted off to the kitchen.
Shaking his head and chuckling slightly, Aron got up a little slower, but eventually made his way out to the kitchen as well.
