Modern Magic 5

About an hour after Ryan left, Samantha was getting ready for bed when she looked out her window and saw the person on the motorcycle at the entrance of Central Park. Whoever they were they were looking up at her window, it felt like they were looking at her.

Samantha peered down at the person for a few moments and then closed her curtain. A slight fear washed over her, but she went to the front door and made sure it was locked and the security system was armed. She checked on Briana and then made her way back up to her room. There she laid down and focused on the events that had happened that evening.

This time when she fell into sleep, Merlin was sitting in a french bistro with a cup of tea in front of him. "So, your first brush with the Black Knights. How did you find them?" he asked raising an eyebrow.

Samantha approached him, “Well leaving a bar, sir.” She answered his question. “Modred found us and of course asked me to join him, I denied. Then a biker with a gun showed up.”

Merlin was quiet, "The gun makes no sense, the knights fight with the weapons of my time still. Although, one who no longer considers themselves a knight might pick up such a weapon."

“Who would that be, sir?” Samantha took a seat next to him and became very interested in what he was saying.

Merlin looked at the cup and then back to Samantha, "In history only one knight left Camelot before the war with Modred. And in the stories he returned to die beside Arthur, although that was not the case. I tasked Lancelot to take care of something more important than a castle." he explained.

Samantha leaned forward and asked, “The biker is Lancelot?” She looked at Merlin.

He looked back at her, "I could not say, but I know that Lancelot is not currently on the round table."

“What did you have Lancelot protecting?” Samantha asked.

Merlin smiled at her, "Guinevere of course."

“Really,” her eyes wided and smiled crossed her red lips. “When can I meet her?”

Merlin chuckled, "Guinevere has long since passed away child. Lancelot kept her safe from Modred and his minions. You would have to speak to the knights about why Lancelot's descendant is not part of the Round Table any longer."

Samantha nodded, “At my meeting tomorrow I will ask. Is there anything else you require of me?” She asked ready to take anything Merlin wished of her and she would do it no problem.

Merlin again chuckled, "I am a manifestation of Merlin's powers and the knowledge of all who came before you. It is you who require knowledge from me and this is the best way for us to communicate."

Samantha again nodded, “Do you think the biker means harm to me? He shot at the enemy and not me.” She told him.

Merlin shook his head, "The identity of this person, wether knight or not is a puzzle to be sure."

Samantha entwined her hands, “I did my first spell but it was on my best friend.” She mentioned.

Merlin nodded, "My first spell was lighting a candle for my mother."

She sat back in her chair, “Sir Merlin, can I be honest.” She looked down a moment then back to him. “When I first encountered Modred and his black knights I wasn’t scared but I was told it will get worse after that encounter. Is he more so wanting to kill me or get me on his side?”

Merlin looked at her hands, "Many who had wield the power of Emrys have met their end at the point of a sword. And their powers move on to the next in our bloodline, it is only in joining Modred that those powers would join with his and mankind would suffer darkness for all time."

“So with me already saying no to him he will return to kill me?” Samantha asked. “Or will he come back with more persuasion and want to fight?”

"He will attmpet to sway you. Eventually it may turn to violence and that is why the knights exist." Merlin explained.

Taking a deep breath she held it a moment before exhaling. Her gaze shifted to the environment around her. “I understand.” She told him. Her hands wringed together and she shifted in her seat. As she sat there she began to wonder but her thoughts were on the darker side of things. She worried what type of persuasion Modred would use and how bad she or someone she cares about would get hurt.

When Samantha woke up it was almost eight in the morning, and the events of last night were slowly taking a place in the back of her mind. She recieved a text message that the knights would assemble at the law firm at noon and Sireen would pick her up around eleven, forty to bring Emrys to the meeting.

Setting up she rubbed her eyes and looked around the large room. She gave a look at the text message and then preceded to get out of bed. As she made the bed she sat down at the end as she went through her clothes to pick out what to wear. Her mind was on todays events and meeting the knights. Some would think this was all crazy and nonsense what was going on but not Samantha. Her whole life she read about lore and such events that was in books and she would imagine how cool it would be back in those times. Picking out a nice pant suit finally that she had purchased when applying for jobs was what she decided on wearing. All black with a thin long sleeve button up jacket would give at least a good vibe from her she thought. Her under shirt was white button up thin as well suitable for the weather. As she slipped into her clothes she made her way to brush her hair and teeth. Her fine hair always seemed to lay flat without control that would curl on the ends. Makeup and her slip on black heels she brought and she was complete.

At the appointed time a sleek BMW pulled up to the house and Sireen exited coming up to the door. She was dressed in a navy pencil skirt with a white blouse, navy coat and navy headwrap. Sireen knocked on the door and waited for either Samantha or Birana came to open the door.

Samantha made her way down and when she heard the knock she went to the door and opened it. “Good afternoon Sireen.” She gave a smile. She then turned to looked for Briana.

Briana appeared from the kitchen, "You go on without me. After last night I'm needing a lazy day."

“Alright be back after a while.” Samantha reached to the couch side table and took her wallet and headed out the door with Sireen. As she got into the car she buckled up and looked to Sireen as she herself got inside. “Thank you for picking me up.”

"Not a problem in the least." Sireen said with a smile. They weaved in and out of traffic until they reached the law firm's building and entered the underground parking facility. She parked the car near an elevator marked VIP and got out. "This takes us up to the special part of the firm, for VIPs only." she explained punching the button and the doors opened.

Entering the elevator she turned to face Sireen and gave her a nod, “Got it. Thank you again.” The doors closed.
