8. THEME EXPLAINED:
What we expect here, is for you, the writer, to tell the story of how you found and became a member here on Elftown. Although basing it on the absolute truth would be nice, colouring your story and making it exciting to read and writing it to entice the outside-of-Elftown-world, this would be great! However, Elftown is a fantasy community, so we most definitely want some thrilling and/or exciting stories and they can be total fantasy, but cannot be misleading to the point of being classified as 'false advertising'.!
An example of what could be misleading:
- I became a member and my work was published by a publishing company right away. (This would be considered 'false advertising', unless this really happened.)
Please note: Entries will be reviewed during the contest for any misleading text and if we feel there is some that is, you, the writer, will be advised to amend it before the closing date of this contest.
9. Judging Criteria.
Writing creativity at its best! We want the best stories that will be the most enticing, most inciting to non-members, so when they stop by and visit, they will want to join immediately. After all, they are only missing out on being a member of Elftown, the greatest site in the world! The two best stories will be selected as winners, so expect the competition to be fierce, but oh, what a challenge for Elftown writers!
9. PLEASE USE THE COMMENT SECTIONS AFFILIATED WITH THIS CONTEST LIMITED TO QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS REGARDING THIS CONTEST.
10. GREAT EXPECTATIONS:
An extensive variety of stories derived from all sorts of ways that Elftowners found and became a member here on Elftown! So, let's hear them!
11. IMPORTANT NOTATIONS:
---> If you feel any of the entries break the rules or aren't following protocol, please speak up during the duration of this contest. Complaints received after the final winning selections have been decided will not be valid.
---> For discussions about any of the Elftown competitions: Here it's discussed if an entry is in accordance with the rules and similarly more complicated issues that can't be solved with a simple wiki-comment. Go to: <forum:Elftown contests>
