1.New Years

New Years is a special time for me.
Just put away the Christmas tree.
Watching the ball drop at midnight.
Sitting on the couch in the candle-light.
Mary and i celebrating our 1-year.
No need for any alcohol or beer.
You can have more fun just being together.
Staying cuddled up because of the cold weather.
This is what new years means to me.
Love drunk and alcohol free.

2. "He's My Wish"

Sparkles and glitter,
Noises and screams.
This drink's a bit bitter.
New, hopeful dreams.

Dick Clark on the screen.
Seeing lights in New York
Such a yearly routine.
Someone yells, "Now uncork!"

Bubbles fizzle down
Wine's passed around.
He's wearing a crown.
He's became dumbfound.

I grab him by the collar
He pulls me, but barely.
This is when he hollers,
"Give me a kiss, pretty lady!"

The countdown is done.
The New Year has come.
Our wishes were chosen.
My wish, I find handsome.

3. Midnight giggles

It popped loud
And burst bright
Scared the children
As the clock struck
Midnight.

It popped loud
And flew across
The length of the room
As the foam flowed
Freely.

We cheered loud
But not for
Conventional reasons
We kissed eachother
Tenderly.

The children giggled
Loudly as mommy and daddy
Shared their love
On the midnight of new years
Eve.

We smiled because
We had survived eachother
For at least another year
And we curled up on the couch
Together.

4. The Curse of January

January:
Everybody is trying to change;
The people are motivated!
Those resolutions become forgotten eventually;
They were just running on an adrenaline rush.
People never change.

February:
Valentine’s Day may be one day,
But it seems to last all month.
From the first to the thirteenth, you spend wishing the day would just get over with already!
On the actual day, you spend hiding.
The thoughts of that day travel into the rest of the February days,
And you spend the rest of February depressed.

March:
It’s my birthday;
March babies, represent!

April:
If I could ban this month,
Wipe it off the calendar,
I would.
I would only keep the 8th,
A.k.a.: my best friend’s birthday!
Get rid of the 16th,
The day my hateful father was born.
Get rid of the 20th,
The day Adolf Hitler was born.
Get rid of the 22nd (especially this day),
The day my fiancé, my best friend, died.
Get rid of the 23rd,
The day one of my heroes died.
Get rid of the 24th,
The day that horror was born.
If April continues,
The 21st is going to turn into the anniversary of something bad as well,
Like all of it’s surrounding dates.
Take April away!

May:
The end, the beginning;
The month that summer starts!
Summer hasn’t been ruined yet.

June:
Beautiful weather;
The 7th holds a spot in my heart.
Bliss.

July:
Worse month of summer!
Long and busy days at work;
Night is the only good time to be outside.
Everyone’s patriotic on the fourth;
Go red, white, and blue!
Fireworks from July 1st all the way through the 12th,
Only to appear again on New Year’s.

August:
Summer fun ending,
But the temperature remaining constant.
Things slow down.

September:
September 11th is like Valentine’s Day in a sense:
The first thru the tenth, you just want to get the day over with;
On the day, you spend hiding,
And the rest of the month,
You just can’t get over the anniversary.

October:
Halloween seems to last all month,
Which is good, ’cause it’s my fave!
The night is never as good as the anticipation!

November:
Another month ruled by a holiday;
More specifically, it’s ruled by turkey!
What are you thankful for?

December:
Christmas starts in October around here;
Really hits the spotlight on Black Friday,
And December just becomes an irritation,
Waiting for the final day.

December 31st ends this cycle,
Ready to start it up again with January.

January:
Everybody is trying to change;
The people are motivated!
Those resolutions become forgotten eventually;
They were just running on an adrenaline rush.
People never change.

These months will never change.

5. "Never The Same"

To me New Years Day
hold's painful memories
a baby i never held
that they took

straight away from me
i laid in the hospital
for a couple of day
knowing my life

would never be the same
people really don't understand me
all i want is to be left alone
on new years day

my life changed forever
alot of sadness and madness
and a baby i never got to see
i dont want anything

except my baby to be hear with me
which i know will happen because
its to late to change the past
so new years day is a day one for me
