2006-09-23 [Zab]: Well..to have @wiki on it only tells that it's a wiki name that they can type..it won't be a link.. but doesn't those entries say ''Ye pyrate Guild''? Then how can people know the name only by seeing the banner? :/

2006-09-23 [Zab]: I know, but it still doesn't give the name of the wiki away, which is the purpose with a wiki banner. *shrugs* It's up to Pixie to decide wether it's acceptable or not, but if it had been my contest, or wiki in general, I'd asked you to either change it or add the correct text somewhere on the banner.
It's afterall meant to lead people who doesn't know about the wiki to it, but without the right name that's pretty much impossible.

If you don't like my tone even when I try to keep it somewhat polite, it's your problem. And I do see your point, you think it looks nicer. But it does defeat the purpose of the banner.

2006-09-23 [iippo]: Well it says on the rules "the picture must say 'the pirate guild@wiki' somewhere on it" so it doesn't follow the rules...? I thought the rule was there to say "this image is not random nor stolen, but for the use of the pirate guild and thus made for ET-people". Since people are meant to have it in their house, a patroller might not notice it's a wikibanner since Ye Pyrate Guild doesn't exist, and the member might come across as not-arty-enough to have made it -> the member might get reported. And not everyone puts links accompanying the banners, some houses look better without links.
