Rules:

1. NO STOLEN ART!
Image must be created by Elftowners and posted here by the original artist. Which means, no matter how much you might like a particular image on somebody's house, you are not allowed to add it here. This includes random images from the net too. MAKE YOUR OWN DARN IMAGES, DON'T STEAL THEM AND TRY TO CLAIM THEM AS YOUR OWN! That makes us angry, very angry indeed.

2. QUALITY ISSUES

Drawings
Please put forth your best effort and the best quality, i.e.
- no drawings on lined notebook paper
- no pictures or bad scannings of your drawings
- drawings must be new. That means you may not submit a drawing you have made before this contest or one that was submitted to another contest already.
- drawings must be well shaded and/or coloured. Sketches will not be accepted.

Photographs
Please put forth your best effort and the best quality, i.e.
- no moved, blurry or pixelated photographs, unless this effect is related to the song (explain!)

Proofphoto
To enter this contest you have to submit a new picture combined with a proofpicture taken during the same photoshoot.
This has two reasons:
- The proofphoto shows that the picture is yours.
- Both pictures have to be new, because we want you to make your entries especially for this theme. The picture should clearly show that you thought about the theme and how you want to reflect this.
You can't have done this before the contest, because you didn't know of it then.

Criteria:
The proofphoto must be a picture of the same scenery/environment, but it has to somehow include the songtitle written on a piece of paper.
If you have used photomanipulation you are also required to submit the unedited photograph!

3. EACH MEMBER MAY SUBMIT TWO (2) ENTRIES.

4. ALL IMAGES MUST BE UPLOADED TO ELFTOWN!
To upload your image full-size you can use the feature 'Upload a folder of images' that is shown on your house.
This feature allows you to upload one, multiple images or zip-files in their original size to a wikipage.

5. SUBJECT MATTER AND MEDIUM
Since the winners will be featured on Mainstreet, images that depict graphic violence, pornography or other disturbing actions will not be accepted. Only images that fit the theme will be allowed.

All mediums, except animated GIF's, will be accepted.

6. THEME
The theme of this contest is:
Show us your song!
Show us how you imagine a certain song should be drawn out or pictured.
Your drawing or photograph must show a connection to the title and or lyrics as much as possible. More importantly it should show how you feel about it! :)

7. COPYRIGHT
You don't lose the right to your art, but by submitting it in these competitions, you allow Elftown to use the art in its wikis.

Deadline:
The deadline of this competition is September 8th, 2007.

We will be picking two (2) images as the winners, one per category.

Ten images, 5 per category, will be picked out by the Council and the Assembly among all those presented and a Mainstreet poll will tell the winner.
Participants will receive an art donor or photographers badge, and winners will receive a coloured version of the same (or a green/coloured Masters of Building badge if they are committed art donors).

2007-07-26 [Rat Hacker]: Okay hmmm.... I've been throwing so many ideas around it is really hard to find something or a song you can emotionally display in a picture. I think I may have found one since I have a lot of science and technology of my own at my house I may do "science Genius Girl" Do you need the artist name as well?

2007-07-26 [Rat Hacker]: So you need the piece of paper the object or person is holding in the proof picture the paper has to have song title and artist. Oh and yeah sorry for all the questions I'm probably getting annoying.

2007-07-26 [light.]: Depends. If you're doing the Photography part, then yes you need photo proof. If you're just doing a drawing, you don't need it. You just need to mention the song title and the artist.

2007-07-30 [MisLuck]: I have an image in my head, and I would like to do it, but it's a mixture of drawing and photomanipulation, can I enter with it, and in what category would it go then?

2007-08-07 [Pyro Mac]: Alright heres he problem I am having...I have three photos, The all of my cat, I couldnt keep her still, I have a picture of my laptop in one of them, and I could not get the paper in there...there on my Deviantart site...and my second problem is uploading...the comptures I am on dont let me right click so I cant get the URL to add them to the contest?...I really want to try to win and get a bidge...am I out of luck?

2007-08-07 [Rat Hacker]: If you need to copy something I do believe you can select/highlight it with the left click and do ctrl+C to copy it and ctrl+V to past it.

2007-08-08 [Pyro Mac]: Trust me I have tried everything...the computers I am on are on a server that is gaurded by Cisco Systems, and Citrix, the Department of labor computers...I can do anything to mess with the internet setings...cant download...cant do anything it sucks...xD
