2008-03-06 [Yncke]: Whoei! :D New comic!

2008-03-06 [Hendercrazy]: Umbrellas exist... the gnomes just haven't introduced them to the masses yet. :P XD

2008-03-07 [Nocturnaliss]: Ahahaha that new one is great XD

2008-03-09 [Hendercrazy]: I've now added a poll just to see what you guys honestly think on the first few strips. Please vote if you get a chance! Thanks!

2008-03-09 [nehirwen]: *does the first voter dance*
voted for A) of course! <img:44166_1164903263.gif>

2008-03-09 [Hendercrazy]: *Joins in on the first voter dance with [nehirwen]* Woohoo! Thanks! *Then loses cool points after attempting to do the "Moon Walk" and falls over backwards*

2008-03-09 [nehirwen]: nice move :p (although I can't dance either xD )

2008-03-10 [organicparadox]: hey bro quick question (long time, btw:)... is there any reason why you colour this comic with markers as opposed to digitally. my only critique would be with the lack of vibrant colours due to the scanning translation. your style brings me back to the great flow of sergio aragone's groo the wanderer which i like, but seems like it would shine so much brighter with the colour correction that pc's provide. i think i am rambling again.... there's a reason why i don't type often...

anyway, one artist's style and creative process that i love is www.thenoobcomic.com . stylized but with color that doesn't go against the grain of the "feel" of tha art. much love. please continue to give me something to be inspired to do my own art. ~jason

2008-03-10 [Yncke]: Actually, I like the colours as they are. They reflect a bit of the dusty dullness the guard is experiencing, in my opinion. :)

2008-03-10 [Hendercrazy]: My original intention was to color Spazznik digitally from the very beginning. Unfortunately, as I'd stated up in the wiki some time ago... I have a scanner conversion issue right now. So, until I get that taken care of... I'd decided to color it traditionally and snap it with a digital camera (in the mean time)... just so I could at least get the project moving forward. :) I will be going back and recoloring them digitally. Trust me in that what you see now is NOT the final version of the comic. They're more like extreme rough drafts right now. ;)

2008-03-10 [Stratakus]: That makes it look just like I'm reading it out of a news paper.

2008-03-10 [Hendercrazy]: Really? So you guys like the traditional look (outside of my bad photography that is)?

2008-03-10 [Stratakus]: Yeah. It's a refreshing look. Traditional is the new Original.

2008-03-10 [Hendercrazy]: Tell you what... I'm working on some spot art I was going to toss up here in the wiki. I'll go all out and traditionally color it how I was planning to color it digitally... and we'll see how it turns out.

2008-03-10 [organicparadox]: yeah man, my preference is digitally colouring, but i think my opinion is 'coloured' (cough, pun) by my inability to colour with any traditional method myself aside from watercolour. i never tried colouring any of my art until i got a pc. you seem accomplished at alot of mediums though sooo.....

all that said, i think Spazz will ultimately tell you what he wants. his character/temperment, your graphic style, and the scenarios he finds himself in will give you enough clues as you enjoy your creation to let you know what's best:)

/disclaimer for the future: i play's devil's advocate and instigate.  alot. but only with people i like.

2008-03-10 [Hendercrazy]: XD That's cool. Well, Spazznik is an experimental comic. So this comic will be changing and evolving over time. Just didn't realize the coloring would be one of the topics. XD To give a little bit away though... there are some new characters that will be joining ol' Spazznik besides just those cuckoo coacoa birds. :P

2008-03-10 [Stratakus]: I like the inked/water colored look because it looks like a comic that was made to be in the papers, or in Dragon Magazine (Rest it's papery soul)

2008-03-11 [Paul Doyle]: That makes me think of Snarfquest, back in the day in Dragon magazine . . .

2008-03-12 [Nocturnaliss]: I have to join the crowd and say I do like traditionnal colouring, myself. It's just... more real, more true, if that makes any sense. XD

2008-03-13 [Paul Doyle]: I do traditional coloring only for these reasons: (1.) I want to get better at the "fundamentals" before I touch digital art, and I don't feel I'm there yet, by a long shot; (2.) If you rely too much on digital techniques, traditional-technique skills (which are the default, after all) suffer. (3.) I have neither the time nor the money to buy and master a decent digital art program---I can't make heads or tails out of GIMP, either. Seems like a Rube Goldberg contraption next to the for-profit programs, and apparently a Rosetta Stone is required to help fully decipher the GIMP @__o

2008-03-13 [Hendercrazy]: The new Spazznik spot art is now up! :) Hopefully folks won't miss the link to the Spazznik archive. ;) Unless they just don't read what Spazznik is saying... XD
