The Two Most Important Rooms

If neurotics were forced to say which room in the house they would want to bring along with them to a desert island, most would chose the kitchen or the bedroom. (A few would pick the bathroom, but it wouldn't take them long to see just how wrong they were.) The kitchen and the bedroom are essential retreats for the neurotic, the former being a key base of mindless activity and the latter being a key base of mindless passivity.
