| Welcome to the wiki-page displaying all the Elftown members' names whom are fulfilling an active role of the Elftown_Welcoming-Committee by actively welcoming new members as they join Elftown. For those who are also involved in the maintenance (wiki-wizardry) of this project, their names can be viewed on Welcoming_Wiki-Wizardry. Anyone interested in the up-keep related to this project, may indicate so on the wiki-page: Welcoming-Committee_Sign-up. Those whom have made, contributed, and have had their image submissions accepted to be included in, used as part of the Welcoming_Guestbook-Messages, their names are displayed on the wiki-page, Welcoming_Artists. |
| The "Welcomers" are the members, the elves and fairies, that do the actual welcoming of new members to Elftown. They watch the "New Members last 7 days" page (the link to is located near the bottom of the right hand column) and send the new members via the guestbook message system, as they are accepted to Elftown, friendly, courteous, and informative Welcoming_Guestbook-Messages. To help new members feel welcome is the goal, of course, but also, to help newcomers know important and useful basics about Elftown, like where to go for help, where they can learn how to do things here, where they can find the areas that may be of interest to them here, and ways they can start interacting with the rest of the members of our wonderful Elftown community to initiate a sense of belonging sooner rather than later. As the Welcoming Elves and Fairies welcome each new member, starting with a guestbook message, the new member's name is added to Welcomed_Members, along with the name of the welcomer posted with the welcomed member's name. With this documented information available to the rest of the welcoming team, particularly the Welcomers, the occurrence of multiple greetings being sent to the same newcomer, should be virtually eliminated. As much as it is the intended goal to welcome and greet new members, we also want to avoid repetitive greetings to the same person, for such would diminish the positive intent of this mission. |
