The so called Supplicant's road is the entrance way of sorts to the Shah hath, the area of the Lower City where most of the Shah live their day to day lives. Using the ability to police themselves granted by the crown, the Shah have carved themselves a little bit of their own kingdom in the lower city. Even now, across the frozen Grall sea, Shah is one of the only Majai cities that yet stands, though it has become little more than a client state, it still holds some political and military sway which has allowed the Shah to take over a small slice of the lower city. Non-Shah are not allowed to live inside the Shah hath, however, and even then, the so called 'purebloods' are given first pick of the best property. The poor, the destitute and the mongrel Majai who want to trade or work in Shah businesses are forced to live in the Supplicant's road, a long staircase heading up towards the Shah Hath, around as wide as two carts, with small dusty houses on each side. The higher you go up the stairs and closer to the Shah Hath, the larger the homes get and the more Shah the architecture becomes. Anyone without ties to the Shah who attempts to make their abode here or in the Hath has to answer to the Shadowswords.
A palanquin carrying Han Daiyu and her new Shadowsword henchman, Hiroshi, sped down the Supplicant's Road from the WoW - Shilao. Luckily for them the stairs were low enough that they had a safe, if somewhat bumpy and unnerving ride down to WoW - Stonebend.
