The Lower City Shah Hath
Shilao
Image in progress
The Shilao is known as the people's road is the place where most of the Shah pureblood population of the Royal City lives, as well as many non-pureblood Shah that have managed to become well off enough to afford and be allowed to own property within the Hath. The streets are relatively clean and paved with cobblestone. The road itself is a long winding, two lane road which is on an elevated plateau in respect to the rest of the lower city, with the Shunlao to the north and the Longlao to the east, both built directly into the cliff face which surrounds the underground city. The buildings themselves all correspond to Shah architecture and it is one of the more pleasant places to live in the lower city, though lacking many of the services and amenities that are customary in the upper city.
From the Shilao, one can see the massive, sprawling slum that is the lower city, filling the basing and trying to even climb up the walls of the massive underground cave like a vine growing up the side of a house. The only thing interrupting the view are a few of the natural rock columns, as wide as several city blocks, going up to the ceiling of the cave, the largest of them housing the great central elevator. The Shilao is probably the most populated street of the Shah Hath, with purebloods, regular shah and even some Daguerrians and other Majai groups walking up to the administrative center and down to Supplicant's Road. Walking up from the Xialao, two Shadowdswords, Nobu and Hiroshi, escorted Han Daiyu across the wide Shilao, heading for the Dao Hall, dojo of the shadowswords.
The work of her people was beautiful,
Daiyu thought quietly to herself as she looked over the buildings they passed. She preferred the graceful curves of the Shah architecture over any of the shabby buildings she could see below her in the slums. She didn't have much time to dwell on her thoughts... Instead she felt her excitement and tension rising as they neared the Dojo and she found herself fidgeting with her clothing and hair, trying to smooth her appearance before approaching the man who was quite possibly one of the most powerful Shah's in her time.
"We're almost there, Gaosheng." said Nobu, speaking this time as the trio of Shah approached a heavy, red wooden gate outside what seemed to be a wide tunnel entrance on one end of the Shilao. The gate had two long Shah dragons carved, one on each side and rested against the cliff wall. The street inside it didn't receive the full blast of the galvanic lights that kept the rest of the Royal City lit, being instead illuminated by delicate paper lamps, which made it seem like it was always nighttime in the WoW - Shunlao. Several Shadowswords stood at the gate, nodding as Nobu and Hiroshi scorted Daiyu through.
Daiyu heard them speak but, for the moment, forgot to respond as she passed under the gates in awe. The interior was beautiful, the soft lights added a warm and comfortable touch the area and she enjoyed the semblance of night time as she walked into
WoW - Shunlao
A palanquin came speeding out of the WoW - Shunlao, carrying the Shadowsword, Hiroshi, and Han Daiyu, turning a corner with incredible control, the vehicle headed down the WoW - Supplicant's Road.
