All kidding aside, welcome to my little corner. If you're new to this part of the neighbourhood, don't let the badges scare you. They only show how addicted I am to this place. If you've been here before, hello again! I am your local Linderel, permanent resident of house nr 4731. Quick summary for those of you not inclined to read long descriptions:





So, who is this Linderel person? A young woman from the cold north of Europe, currently panicking her way through freshman year in the Oulu University. She is fond of quite a few things, interested in everything, and, despite all her cynicism, is probably guilty of being an optimist at heart. Affectionate, creative, and slightly quirky. You probably won't regret making an acquaintance of her, though be warned: she can be awfully asocial sometimes.

She also seems to have a habit of occasionally talking in third person. *switches* Anyhow.

Contrary to popular belief among people who have met me in real life, I am not especially mysterious. If you catch me staring into space, chances are that instead of thinking deep and profound thoughts I am simply zoning out. It happens. I do admit to some level of intellect, however, and even flatter myself with claiming talent in the field of arts. I may not be mathematically gifted, and my social skills aren't always up to scratch, but I can write. At least so they say. 'They' being a majority of my friends.

No... truth be told, I do occasionally have those profound thoughts. I am perfectly capable of partaking in a serious philosophical conversation, although it often happens that I prefer to listen rather than speak. I have an endless thirst for knowledge, and a need to understand the world and how people think. It can be problematic once in a while.

Just like everyone else, I have my ambitions, some of them admittedly bordering on pure daydream. Who could become a polymath in this day and age, when there is so much to know? Nevertheless, I intend to learn as much as my brain allows me to store. My lifetime will be devoted to studying everything under the sky. A trip around the world would also be quite wonderful. As for the less grandiose plans, well... First off, there's graduating. I'd like to get my master's thesis done more or less on schedule by 2015 or 2016 and move on to teach kids English and/or history. Getting my creative work published is a long-standing dream of mine, as is seeing various parts of the world. As I still practically have my whole life ahead of me, I have no doubt that many of my dreams will come true. Eventually.

To move on to something less strenuous for your eyes in preparation to wrap this thing up: lists. No music or movies or likes and dislikes... no, I'm just assuming some people will be interested in knowing what I read and which wikis I frequent. Presumptuous of me, eh? I'm afraid there's no helping it. Who knows, maybe it will actually be interesting.
