R.I.P. Ihsahn

This is a memorial for Andrew Kitchings of Temple, Texas, who is better known on Elftown as [Ihsahn]. Sadly [Ihsahn], 25, passed away on 18 August 2011. Please leave your memorials and tributes to a true Elftown original. For those of you who knew him a lot better than I did (and there will be plenty of you) do feel free to expand and elaborate, sprucing up the appearance and anything else. There must be better photos of him available. Please share. Kindly leave drama off the wiki (do I even have to say this?) and remember someone who was an integral part of Elftown, Elfpack and several other Heddate sites, for many years. Please feel to elaborate, to express your emotions, and to reminisce. If you have photos, clippings and whatever else to remember him with (focusing on the positive) please feel free to upload and share.

(1.) [Paul Doyle] I've known [Ihsahn] since about 2004, first on Elftown and then also Elfpack and Elf12. He struck me as a delightful different person if a bit dark, with a sometimes uproarious sense of humor and, at times, an incisively clever wit. Though I did not really know him personally, I can say he was a very hard worker on these websites and did massive amounts of Patrolling. He was also The King of Cheese. All hail the King of Cheese! Anyway, if there really is an afterlife may he have eternal happiness. And if not, may he rest in peace. Gone but not forgotten, [Ihsahn] is sadly missed. RIP.

(2.) [Stephen] I believe I also met Andrew around 2004, although I didn't really know him well until mid '06 or so. He was a nice guy, and even with his darker side, he was loyal and fantastic to his friends. He and I worked together on Elf12 and Elfpack, and he was truly a great man. He helped me to see what I was doing when I was in err, and never was overly harsh or scornful while doing so. In addition, he was a good friend to talk to about problems of mine. I'd also like to say he served in the United States Marine Corps. Andrew spent much of his life helping out others.

(3.) [Calico Tiger] I'll miss his catty, blood elf paladin girl. Damn her for looking better in plate mail than my poor blood elf paladin dude did *shakes a fist in the air*

(4.) [Lerune] Played a lot of World of Warcraft with Andrew (or Voxine as we knew him there) and got into some epic world PvP situations with him. Enjoyed teaming up with him to give the Alliance hell. =o) He was fun to have around.

(5.) [Ultiem] Too many memories I have of this man. We went through the army, he couldn't get enough so he joined the marines. The ones he likes to talk about are those of the distant past when we were both patrollers on this site. We spammed the guards daily. Much fun, I known this guy since I was 8, I am now 24.

(6.) [Yuriona] Other than chasing Ihsahn and Ultiem around both here and on Elf12, I also had the opportunity to work with Andrew on Elf12. I did not know him well but he was a good guy and a loyal friend.

(7.)[WonderTweek] Andrew, I've been sitting here trying to think of something I could say that could do you justice, but I can't. I honestly feel speechless and heartbroken. Not only have you been a close friend to me since I first joined Elftown all these years ago, but you've also been there for me through thick and thin. I loved our long phone conversations about nothing and everything, our IM conversations that lasted days about life.I loved our facebook conversations, and how completely random they were. I loved how auto-correct always got the best of you when we were texting. I loved that you always knew when I was having a bad day, and knew how to cheer me up. I loved planning your visit here, and I promised you we would do the coolest things in the universe. I loved our debates over the few things we disagreed upon, and I loved our respect for our differences. I loved how you'd randomly message me to remind me that you love me, and I loved that you had respect for people you didn't really like. I loved how you were always working harder to better yourself, and I loved your ambition. I loved how completely amazing you were as a person and I loved just everything about you. You are one of the few people I look up to and I still can't believe you're gone. I look forward to meeting you again in the afterlife and giving you that hug I've always promised I'd give you.
