'Wild Samhain Ride'

Kelpies are an evil shape-shifting water horse faery
and are part of Celtic Folklore... notable Scotland and are part of the Unseelie Court*
but they have conterparts all over the world**
In Ireland they are known as the Phooka
and are strongly connected with Halloween or Samhain

The creature could take many forms and had an insatiable appetite for humans; its most common guise was that of a beautiful tame horse standing by the riverside - a tempting ride for a weary traveller. Anybody foolish enough to mount the horse - became stuck to it.. unable to dismount or even be thrown, no matter how wild the ride! Eventually the faery charges headlong into the deepest part of the water, submerging rending and consuming its rider it his watery grave.

*In Scotland faeries were divided into the Seelie ( old Saxon for "blessed") Court and Unseelie Court depending on whether they are friendly and helpful or malicious and evil. Kind faeries travel, spreading good and help where ever they go while the Unseelie hurt, frighten and sometimes even destroy mortals. Though it is not safe to offend those of the Seelie Court, the punishment from members of the Unseelie is much, much worse, and you dont even have to try to offend the Unseelie.

**These creatures, inhabit the lakes, rivers and seas of the world and are used to keep their children away from the water's edge or warn travelers of trusting in the unknown no matter how friendly and benificial it may appear.

my hair is white blonde orange and black...
but you cant see all the colours in one photo...
or you can but not to the full effect!!!
anyways one wet and one fluffy.
Im going for the 'funky mother rebeling look'..
still gonna add some orange streaks into it..
but giving my hair a rest to build up the natural oils before

2005-11-26 [Lord Dog]: A few years back, a PennsylvaniaTown decided to try to start Dias de Muertos celebrations due to a high Latino population, it bombed, They decided to do Mardi Gras then strangely enough it worked, (the only difference I could see was they got the whole populations support by closing streets and allowing putdoor drinking) kind of sad that suspending open container laws made a difference
