1. [Grandamelf] - "Three Elders Came"

Three Elders Came (An Elven Nativity)

The moon gave off sparks!
The sky was aglow with a hail of fire!
White light in the dark,
For what was about to transpire!
Yes, the moon was brilliant, as a ball of fire!

A happening great,
A wonder to behold!
It was well worth the wait,
The ancients foretold!
Yes, the wise ones must behold!

Three Elders had traveled far to the place,
By the light of the moon,
To bare witness the infant, full of grace!
The mystical child, a king would be soon!
Yes, they traveled afar by the light of the moon!

Now in the clearing, with one lonely tree!
They came to the spot,
Where once two became three!
A wife, and a husband, though father he was not,
Yes, a mystical birth, on that magic spot!

The moon gave off sparks!
The Elders bore witness to a newborn king!
There beneath a sky, that was no longer dark!
For ever after, the minstrels would sing!
Yes, a champion was born, to lead them out of the dark!

2. [crikketcandy] - "I Saw a Flock of Ducks"

I saw a flock of ducks go by
Above my head and through the sky
With quacks to greet the snowy Mainstreet
They herald the season drawing nigh.

On frosty breath the ducks do ride
As they sweep through the treetops
Worrying the wooden shelves
Holding homes of tidy elves
Who miss Spring's warm raindrops

Curiosity pulls the birds to the earth
Where they waddle through a carpet of white
Knowing little of engineering
They unleash heartfelt praise and cheering
Watching humans stack snow to a wondrous height

Now see through the smoky air
Past icicles on the windowsills
The fowl are visiting the dwarves
By the fire of the stone forge
Warming up their frozen duckbills

In formation they take flight
Startled by an ambush of snowballs
The mean orcs in their fort
Had picked them for sport
Behind their solid ice-bricked walls

I saw a flock of ducks go by
Above my head and through the sky
Now they retreat from the snowy Mainstreet
And to them all I wave goodbye.

3. [Tickle Me Emo]- "Holly and Ivy (A Folk Song of the Elves for the Winter Solstice)"

When the berries grow bright red and round
It's time to head back homeward bound;
Back to the trees and leaves of green
And the curious wonder of things unseen.
When things lie secret beneath the snow,
That is the time when you will know:
Return home friend, return on home.

When the stars shine bright
With a mystical light,
Yea, friend, return on home.

When the mother bear lies in her den
And most all creatures have gone and been,
It's time to return to a den of your own
Beneath the skies where the birds have flown.
This be not the time to hesitate
Until the winds die down and the cold abate-
Return friend, return on home.

When the stars shine bright
With a mystical light,
Yea, friend, return on home.

When fires burn warm, true and bright
And block out the rest of night,
Do not falter beyond its reach.
Come in, come in- I do beseech;
With us have your holiday drink
And take your time to ponder and think;
Return friend, return on home.

When the stars shine bright
With a mystical light,
Yea, friend, return on home.

4. [Lite] - "Ale for the World" (the carol of the orcs)

Ale for the world, the time has come!
The King of the world is born;
Sing praise to his glory,
Of his well reknowned story,
Oh, shout hearty his tale!
There is plenty of ale!
Oh praise, oh praise, to the King of the world!

It's the time to fight and brawl, in memory of the king!
Remember his deeds for the world;
He slayed all of our foes,
Cracked heads and ate their toes,
To his greatness we are in dept!
And we shall follow in his steps!
Oh take his example and follow his steps!

The streets are filled, with festive joy!
Every man for himself;
Fight with kegs of beer,
We have nothing that we fear,
Oh live the festive joy!
Drunken brawls ahoy!
Oh join, oh join the the holiday spirit!

Ale for the world, there is plenty to share!
Rejoice and drink to his name;
Get drunk and sing aloud,
'front a blood-thirsty crowd,
T'is the time for mindless cheer!
The best time of the year!
Oh drink, oh drink to his name!

5. [Grandamelf] - "Lullaby to a King"

Oh sing to the little one,
Born in the night.
Born under the Kiki trees,
With stars shinning bright.

Oh sing to the little one,
By all creatures adored,
Blessed be the little one,
Who is blessed by the Lord.

Oh sing to the little one,
A sweet lullaby.
The spirits are watching,
So baby don't cry!

Oh sing to the little one,
The new elven king!
Blessed by Dear one,
Of thee we sing!

6. [Doormat] - "Denial"

A diamond for Christmas, oh how nice!
(It was actually carbon to be precise)
I’m sure there must’ve been a mistake
(It turned out to be coal on the second take)
Maybe if I polish it…It’ll ruin my rag,
(What a shame, what a drag)
Present through the window, past the shed, near the sled…
(Terminal velocity to the back of the head).

7. [Doormat] - "Orkish Christmas"

The season is coloured blood red and gangrene,
Burning villages a merry glowing sheen,
The Christmas spirit, is better mean,
Wielding a battleaxe, forever keen.

Our soldiers are heard singing, but rarely seen,
The holiday cheer is spread where they’ve been,
People screaming what the (something obscene),
An Orkish Christmas is never routine.

8. [Artsieladie] - "An Elftown Christmas"

Caroling, caroling, everywhere!
Singing songs, while gifts we share.

The ducks are decked in crimson bows,
Elves a' jingling bells on their toes.
The haflings dance with merry feet,
While humans await Santa's treat.

Caroling, caroling, everywhere!
Singing songs, while gifts we share.

The orcs are hanging the mistletoe
And dwarves are humming "Let It Snow".
The town so dressed in Christmas green,
Making Elftown a wondrous scene.

Caroling, caroling, everywhere!
Singing songs, while gifts we share.

With peace and joy throughout the land,
A magical time, 'tis so grand.
Oh, Elftown is the place to be
At Christmastime in fantasy.

Caroling, caroling, everywhere!
Singing songs, while gifts we share.

Caroling, caroling, everywhere!
Singing songs, while gifts we share.
Caroling, caroling, everywhere!
Singing songs with gifts we care.

(See: <diary:996275> for other versions.
Composing a tune for this, as well.)

9. [Lexi. Short and Sweet!] - "Elftown Christmas Carol"

There’s a plump old Orc in a Christmas hat,
The Humans are baking enough to make everyone fat,
The Ducks are flying around with mistletoe,
And we’ve lost half the Halflings beneath the snow!

Coz it’s that time of year,
Christmas is here!
We’re all in good cheer,
As Christmas day draws near!

The Elves know how to do things in style,
Although they’ve been fiddling with the lights for a while,
And it’s the dwarves who lead us all in song,
Load enough to make everyone want to sing along!

Coz it’s that time of year,
Christmas is here!
We’re all in good cheer,
As Christmas day draws near!

10. [Heather Thomason] - "A Christmas With Ducks And Dwarves"

All the ducks
were singing their song
on Christmas eve

while all the dwarves
were dancing around the tree
waiting for the clock
to ring

all the ducks and dwarves
went to bed
so Santa would stop
with his sled

on Christmas day
the duck and dwarves
was happy to see
all the presents
Santa left under the tree

11. [Jitter] - "Snowing in Elftown"

Snowing this night in Elftown
Dwarves are having Christmas mead
Fairies are building snow-men
adding beards made of weed

Listen to fairies singing
at the Mainstreet Christmas tree
and see the halflings swinging
in the kitchen having tea!

Oh how we all love Elftown
it's the best place in the world
we'll make Hedda a snow crown
and adorn it with a pearl!

All round the year it's cosy
but it's best at Christams time
when all the elves and duckies
sing along to songs that rhyme!

12. [Sir. Robert] "Creatures of Elftown"

Creatures of Elftown
Its time to be merry
Cheer and clown
Let all be unwary

Halflings and Humans
Meet round the tree
Haven of holidays
Time of great glee

Ducks and Dwarves
Post up your stockings
Dance and drink
Santa’s come knocking

Orcs and Elves
Big toothy grins
On this eve
See what he brings

13. [Lakayana] Silver Bells

It's so Snowyy and cold
Outside on the Winter fields
And a poor old Orc like me
Has to Stay away indoors
Cos I ain't have any furs
To cloak myself with
But how can I stay indoors
When the Silver chimes Of Christmas
Keep on calling on me
To come and sing and fun
With Elfs and Dwarfs and Fairies
All according to thier Kind
Chanting with Joy the words
Silver bells! Silver Bells!!
Wishing you a merry Christmas

14. [Hephaistos] Cristmas wakening

Arise beautiful creatures of the forest, arise
For the lakes and rivers are covered in Ice.
Snow and hail are covering the trees,
Let us wake all before they perish and freeze.

Arise beautiful sun, warm us with your golden beams,
For the moon was far too cold last night.
All is white now, or so it seems,
Let us welcome the morning light.

Arise wonderful creatures of the forest, arise
For the snow will surely be gone at noon.
Let us rejoice, and greet the star that flies,
For it will be summer again, much too soon.

15. [Melocrie] A Halfling Carol

When the fire crackles in the grate
and the ale is pouring down on my beeel-ly
all of them barefeet are marching through the gate
carrying the bushes of hoool-ly

On our shoulders we carry the Christmas Tree
as our feet muffle-puffle on the crunching ground
and snow is falling everywhere that we can see
muffle-puffle where the Christmas Bells sound

Cut the top and root him good
set the Tree and light him up with caaannn-dles
hush and listen how the owls hoot
the ground is cold; come take out your saaann-dles

Come and drink at the foot of the Christmas Tree
as our feet muffle-puffle on the crunching ground
and snow is falling everywhere that we can see
muffle-puffle where the Christmas Bells sound

Come feast and drink for Christmas
all the clock around!

16. [Aldalome] 'Christmas song'

Tis the season to be jolly
Christmas carols, heaps of holly.

Dwarves are chanting,
     out of tune.
Orcs are grumbling
    “Stop them! Soon!”

Voices of elves ring out in this holy night
O’ newborn child, hold him tight.

For this is the child
that will reunite
all races
great and small

from Humans and Halflings,
to Orcs and Ducks
all will cheer and quack along
for this is their Christmas song.
