About the artist and why this picture was chosen for the daily picture:

Nothing quite like taking a break at the end of a busy day just to enjoy the sunset. This piece by [evilhamster] seems to embody the feeling of restfulness, or at least, thoughtfulness that sunsets seems to encourage. As with so many other Daily Art pictures, this one started out as just another boredom sketch, and transfered into the pretty piece is now by some encouragement from others and the addition of colours in Painter. I absolutely love the serenity here, and all the soft blending oranges and reds. The dominate blues in our furry character sets off nicely, and the stylized, elongated legs are a great touch. It's just a nice, quiet little scene, and it's really beautiful in that respect.
