2009-12-20 [Kaimee]: The friend I was going to purchase one of these for has unfortunately had a miscarriage and is in hospital in a pretty bad way :( Very sorry, but I'm sure you understand I wont be needing one of your beautiful blankets anymore!
2009-12-20 [Nioniel]: Certainly I understand, and I am very sorry to hear that! I hope that your friend recovers quickly.
2010-09-06 [Nioniel]: Crocheted Critters are also for sale!
2010-12-13 [Nioniel]: New stuff on the way! Currently accepting commissions as well! :)
2010-12-13 [Linderel]: Why do you support gender-assigne
Now that this obligatory comment is out of the way: these are very cute. :)
2010-12-13 [Nioniel]: Hmm...you're right, of course, the blanket could be used for a baby of any gender. Generally, I don't support gender-assigne
And thank you. :)
2010-12-13 [Linderel]: Ah, yes. It is the generic choice, isn't it? I swear, if I ever get a child, I'll give it a black blanket. <_< Or maybe not. :P
2010-12-13 [Nioniel]: My friends with baby boys don't even want the gender-neutral blankets, they specifically want boy coloured blankies (blue and brown, in the most recent case). It's actually been easier to unload girly coloured ones than the multi-coloured ones. Apparently baby boys are too masculine to have any pink in their blankets.
If I ever have kids, I'd like the daughter to be a tomboy, or the son to be sensitive, instead of a girly-girl or a manly-man. lawl. :)
2010-12-13 [Linderel]: What's interesting is that blue used to be the colour for girls and red the colour for boys. Sometime, somehow, it got switched around, with the red also being diluted down to pink. Completely arbitrary.
Tomboys rule!
2010-12-13 [Nioniel]: I hated dresses and skirts when I was young, though now a nice long skirt is one of the comfiest things, I think... :)
2010-12-14 [Kaimee]: Being the only girl, I was always dressed in skirts and dresses >.< As soon as I could dress myself, they were never seen again xD I'm only just able to bear them again now...
2010-12-14 [Daisy le Fleur]: *Squeeeee* I've been trying to get someone in my family to knit me some caps for the baby.. ya know the little ones they wear home from the hospital? How much would you charge for one of those?
2010-12-14 [Nioniel]: $25 plus S/H.
:)
If you wanted more than one, I could cut you a really good deal, though. :)
2010-12-15 [sequeena_rae]: *has a heart attack* I ain't spending £50 on a blanket! Very pretty though xx
2010-12-15 [Nioniel]: :D
I know it's expensive, but they do cost quite a bit to make.
2010-12-15 [sequeena_rae]: They are lovely, my mum crocheted one for me when I was a baby :) With one hand!! Clever mother.
I would love to have one but the costs to me would just be too much x
2010-12-15 [Nioniel]: If you had a price range that you'd like to keep one in or under, I could look into the prices of different materials and see what I can do.
2011-05-17 [Nioniel]: Thank you! :)
2011-05-17 [Calico Tiger]: And agreed on the prices, btw. They're expensive to make. I guess the only way to make them cheaply is to shear the sheep and make the yarn yourself and try to use all the cheapest stuff. But most people can't do that :-/ And you wouldn't get baby-acceptabl
2011-05-17 [Nioniel]: Especially when high-quality yarn is used. I could use cheaper brands like Red Heart but it snaps so easily that I wouldn't want to. :/
I'm glad you like what's up here. :)
