2009-03-25 [BarleySinger]: I think the point (cute females exist who have an interest in gaming) is being lost as we devolve into the idea of a bikini contest here on Elftown. I do worry a bit about the idea of older people perving on the younger (especially that quite young), but I suppose people do that no matter what a person wears ot does not wear.

Also given that I live in a country where the government $paid$ busty blonds in -very- tiny gold bikinis, to go about Sydney paying off peoples parking meter charges before they expired...well... bikinis are very normal here (even the *extreme* ones are not that totally unusual). The majority of the population live close to the beach here and grow up wear rather small swimming togs. Skin just isn't a big thing here.

It would be kind of "stooping to the lowest element" a bit, but why not?

2009-10-21 [BarleySinger]: well [Kaimee] It is less than perfect, especially in the more country areas, but I guess it really depends on what you notice and where you live. I grew up in the USA, where they would NEVER have a 'Work Cover' ad of a nude body made up of nude bodies...or a lengthy 'playschool' segment for kids where some 20 something woman has her top off nursing the baby in order to teach kids about food and breast feeding. Neither would there have been a 'Rove Live' nude relay race back and forth across a footy field. No woman has been arrested in OZ for going topless at a beach for over 20 years.

2009-10-21 [Kaimee]: Hehe, yes compared to some other countries we have a slightly different outlook on skin... here we acknowledge and enjoy it in public :P That doesn't mean it's no big deal, just that the officials are willing to tolerate it, and everyone else is willing to enjoy it! :)
I'm in Canberra and we've just had a couple of warmer days (32C today) after wintry, rainy days for weeks, and the tiny shorts, skirts, and bikinis are out in force :D

2009-11-11 [BarleySinger]: [Kaimee] - we have a friend who lives in the ACT. He has been concerned about my wife and I (disabled folk) down here in the heat of this SA hot spell. AND...it has been VERY hot for the time of year (for you English System people the temp has been roughly 100 F). I mean really! It is not the heat of summer yet! Yet here it is just after 7:30 AM and it is already 29C/86.5F and RISING. By noon it will be over 100F.

I for one will not be wearing clothes today, and out bath tub (and private bore) will be our friends today. That is one of the advantages of living a bit out into the bush. 



As for [Stratakus] and his wisdom, your bikini enjoyment means that you *like* to view the female form, and most importantly you are not DEAD. That is one serious disadvantage to death. No nookie.
