Character Name: Rage Criss

Age: 19

Gender: Female

Height: 5’4

Build: slender/athletic

General Appearance: She has dark tanned skin and almond shaped, vibrant green eyes with gold flecks. Her hair is shoulder-length, spiky and unruly and a flame colored orange with streaks of blue, white and green. Bracelets decorate her wrists, almost to her elbows and her ankles are always sporting golden anklets and small bells that twinkle as she walks making her movement seem to be a dance. She is usually seen wearing a loose, white dress unless she is dancing. Then she changes much more revealing clothing.

Personality: Contrary to her name, Rage has a very cheerful outgoing personality. She’s easy to get along with and is usually the one to stop a fight. She loves being with people, dancing and music are her passion. She will often be seen helping out someone less fortunate than herself, or even subtly taking off a golden bracelet and dropping it into a beggar’s bowl.

History: Rage was born in the desert, and grew up with a nomad tribe, at a very young age it was discovered that she really enjoyed to dance. By the time she’s reach 13 years, her dancing had become almost legendary and it was known by even the gods. On her 14th birthday a fire demon possessed her as she danced and she accidentally murdered her entire tribe when the demon released flames over her entire audience. Horrified, she forsook humane company for several years, desperately trying to learn how to deal with the demon inside her. Now she comes to the city because she has learned how to work with him and is confident to dance once more. She is currently renting a small apartment on the outskirts of the city.

Other:
Rage has, what can almost be called a partnership, with the demon inside her. Although, her pact with him is only known between the two it does allow her to dance once again. She can even control the flames, letting them spiral around her as she dances or other nice tricks. She is a complete pyromaniac and when sitting still often plays with fire.
Rage also has a small habit of gazing into mirrors and losing herself in them because when she looks into a mirror she does not see herself, instead she sees the demon inside her. The demon, Alcreon, is a constant presence inside her and there are times when she will grant him control and allow him to speak for himself.

There was an awkward quiet in the waiting room of the immigration office of Krung Thep. People who were waiting to be seen and interviewed by an immigration officer before entering the city sat around trying to not make a noise. A thai lady in her late thirties appeared and looked around at the crowd, and then at her paper. "Criss Rage?" She called out, unsure of the pronunciation, and scanned the crowd again, trying to identify the person she wanted to see next.

Rage had almost dozed off waiting for her appointment but now she glanced up at the sound of her name. She stood and gracefully crossed the floor and smiled at the woman, “My name is Rage, Rage Criss.” She corrected easily, "Its nice to meet you." She smiled cheerfully as she easily brushed her colorful hair away from her eyes.

The woman smiled back and introduced herself as Mary. "It's nice to meet you too. Please follow me," she said with a friendly and professional tone. She had a slight hint of an English accent in her voice. Mary led the way down the corridor to a door that led to a small office. She indicated to Rage to take a seat in front of the desk, while she herself went to sit behind the desk in the opposite seat. The room was small and had very little personal touch: a potted plant on the window sill and some children's drawings pinned to the cork board. "How was your travel to our city?" She asked while preparing for the interview by pulling out papers and opening files on the computer.

"It was fairly uneventful once I actually got started." Rage answered easily as she slid into her seat. Her loose clothing hung easily from her slender frame and the golden bells on her ankles jingled as she casually crossed her legs and primly folded her hands on her lap. Brilliant green eyes watched Mary's every move curiously, and then flickered around the room, studying everything she saw just to give her something to do.

Mary took Rage's answer as an indication to not ask further, and felt a little awkward. "Ah yes, well, I hope it wasn't... very long," she mumbled. "Anyhoo, before we get started: do you speak English fluently? There are universal translation devices in this building so that we can communicate, but if you are not comfortable with English, we can provide you a government-issue personal device. It helps with integration, you know," she said with a mild smile.

"I think your device would be very useful. I can understand English but my speaking skills are still a little rough." Rage admitted hesitantly as she smiled again. "I can use all the help I can get, its been a while since I've been around people." She chuckled a little self-consciously as her hands fidgeted in her lap, a small stream of fire curling through her fingers as part of a nervous habit.

"Sure, we'll fix one for you after the interview," Mary said, hesitating towards the end of her sentence, as she thought she saw something strange. Mary hadn't had much experience dealing with Aeaeans in the job yet, so she was a little nervous and excited at the prospect. "Let's just start with some basic details, could you fill this form," she slid a piece of paper and a pen towards Rage across the table. On the paper there were lines for name, exact age in years at this very date, place of birth, marital status, children.

Rage noticed the hesitation and glanced down at her lap, seeming to notice the fire for the first time, she immediately clenched her fist and let it fade. She glanced up and smiled again, "Sorry about that, just habit." She giggled nervously. She then looked down at the paper and grabbing the pen started to fill out the information. "So, I just have to ask... how is the music in this city? Is entertainment a good trade here?"

Mary giggled nervously and felt a little more relaxed. "I'm not exactly sure," she answered Rage's question hesitant, "I'm sure there is." Mary thought of how little she went out these days. "Krung Thep is a big city, so I'm sure there is a lot of places... like that. Are you a musician?"

"A dancer." Rage answered cheerfully, "I hope so, I've traveled pretty far because I heard that this is the best place for entertainers." She laughed, and tilted her head to one side as she studied Mary. "You don't get out much, do you?" She asked with a smile, "You should come see me dance, bring your children and see what I can do. I'll give you a private show." She said hesitantly, half-afraid to offer.

Mary smiled at Rage's optimism. It wasn't rare to see people bursting with energy and life when they first came into the city. She half wished she hadn't grown here, so that she too could have experienced that excitement of moving to a new place to restart life from scratch... "I will, yes, definitely," she replied to Rage's invitation, not thinking much about her answer. "What have you heard about Krung Thep before?"

"Hmmmm... well my parents and the others in my tribe used to talk about it. They talked about how big it was and how it would be a great place for dancers... and Alcreon brought it up when we met. Since he knows more about all of this, I let him guide me." She said cheerfully, although her eyes dimmed at the mention of her parents she still managed to keep her cheerful facade in place.

Mary nodded encouragingly as Rage spoke. "So you left your family back home? Do you think they might want to follow you later and also move to the city?" She enquired, typing something into the computer.

Rage shook her head, "No, they will not. My tribe has been wiped out. I have no one who will seek me out here." She answered calmly as she reached up to brush the hair away from her face.

Mary nodded. She had no idea what that possibly could be like, or what the appropriate response to that would be. She only ever heard of such things in the news. Rage's calm voice gave her the chills a little bit, so after a short silence, she said softly "was that a long time ago or...?"

"A little over 5 years ago." Rage had started her habit again, small tendrils of flame curling over her fingers. She didn't even glance down, seeming not to notice what was happening in the slightest. She glanced away, her eyes haunted and then suddenly stilled as if she was listening to an un heard voice. After a few short moments she glanced up, her eyes cleared and she smiled. "Sorry, I still grieve for them but I am learning."

"Wow, yeah, I bet," Mary said, wondering how to steer the conversation into any kind of direction. She wanted to ask so much, the hows and the whys and the whos, but she realised that it was the last possible place to do it. She glanced at the clock, it was five minutes before the office would close. She felt bad: there was no time to finish the interview and not go overtime, and today was the one day she did not want to be home late. She scanned the computer screen, trying to see if there was anything vital to cover before they had to close. "So uhh, one more thing I have to ask you," she started awkwardly, "about your plans. Will you be needing housing assistance, or do you know where you are going to stay tonight?"

Rage smiled cheerily, "Yes, I do. I am renting an apartment just outside the city." She said happily. Her bangles tinkled softly as she flipped her hair away from her eyes again. "I know it must be late, you must be eager to go home to your family." She said with another smile as she stood up.

Mary looked at Rage, awkward that she had hit the nail on the head. "Oh no no, no hurry. Sorry," she was flustered and didn't even know what she was apologising for. "I'll just get you your temporary ID done and... we're done." She too got up, then sat down again to save her work on the computer, looking at the screen and the half-filled boxes with irritation and frustration. "Yes. Well," she looked up and smiled apologetically to Rage, "I suppose we are done. Thank you so much."

"No, thank you so much for helping with everything here! You've been very kind." Rage said with a smile. She chuckled, as she glanced around and then looked back to Mary, "I hope to see you at my show sometime." She said happily as she tucked her new ID into the loose, silky folds of her white clothing and turned to go.
